A waste of money. I waited to 25 minutes for a pedi, they did not even put lotion on my feet! They painted the side of my toe with nail polish, and the cut my other toe and it's bleeding. My massage chair was broken brought! They not give me a drink! I brought this up to the manager and she said "oh $35" I am Doubfounded at this unprofessional staff! I went ahead and agreed with the full so I went and sat at her station and she started my nails and said "wow a lot of them are so lifted" hence why I wanted them all removed. She had to remove quite a few and do a new tip. During the beginning of the service she was on the phone with someone and she said "I'm stuck with a client, I'll be there at 1." There's no other nail salon like this in El Paso. There are places that come close, but there's nothing on this level. Best experience I've had in any nail salon and I honestly think I have a new nail salon. I check Yelp for everything and as far as nail salons go, I try to stick with salons that have multiple 4 and 5 star reviews, great pictures, and reasonable prices (any more than $$ doesn't make sense to me). The Nails Bar only had two reviews, but some nice pictures of the inside of the salon. I could tell it had just opened, but I was enticed. We walked in and were welcomed warmly by a few working that day. I grabbed one of their menus and took a seat on their plush couch. It's a really open space which is nice because there's nothing worse than feeling cramped when you're getting your nails done. A couple of seconds later a young lady came over and answered all the questions we had. She asked if we wanted anything to drink. Every nail salon that I've been to that offers drinks usually has water, soda, and usually a white and red wine. We both just requested a water. My boyfriend was getting a pedi to keep his feet in tip-top shape. The chair was ready pretty quickly and I even saw that they helped him find the perfect setting for the back massage. I was led to a different chair to get my nails done. My nail tech was Tony and he was pretty great. We talked some, but he stayed focused the entire time. He expertly removed my black nail polish (really it was more of a dye and I've seen lesser nail techs leave a lot of remnants of this same polish on my nails). I got a simple pink & white set. My nails are lined perfectly and finally someone who understands when I say I want them as short as possible that means I want them as short as possible. The process was completely painless and he event went as far as cleaning up my cuticles. As we were both being worked on I saw another woman be brought a Pina Colada. A freaking Pina Colada. Turns out they have a full bar and I mean a full bar. It's situated at the end of the salon, but they'll make you just about anything and it's all complimentary. This really set this salon apart from any other I've ever been to in EP. We decided to also get a glass of Moscato. I didn't even ask what Moscato it was because after I saw the huge bar that could easily be found in a classy bar, I trusted whatever they were going to serve me. The Moscato was perfect for the atmosphere and I'd totally buy this wine for at home. Next time I'm definitely trying out some of their mixed drinks. One other thing I noticed. There were a couple of people getting their nails done while we were here and a few getting pedis with polish. There was no noticeable nail salon smell. Even though all the usual chemical suspects were present, I didn't smell anything. Not even when chemicals were right in front of me. This may have something to do with the space, the ceiling and perhaps they have the perfect settings on their air conditioning system. Either way, I like that. I 100% recommend this salon. This place is terrible. The owner is very very rude -- both to her employees and customers. I had a gift card (given to me by my friend) for $20 (I'll post a picture below) the owner said she would not accept it because it was not signed. She then walked away and ignored me. I said I was not paying the full price and stood my ground -- it is not my fault that they sold the gift card to the person who gave it to me and did not sign it. She said I could have gone and made a photo copy of it even though it was in the original and very specific envelope after arguing with her she said "fine - pay $20 (my bill was $40) but this is bullshit and don't ever come back" she was SO rude and absolutely should have honored my GC despite the fact that her employee forgot to sign it. Also, I had to get a nail replaced because it was broken. The rest I just did a fill. Ok so I had to update my review. I have been to almost every salon in west El Paso because I'm always on the hunt for a clean, relaxing, and WELL DONE nail experience. That is the opposite of what I got here. There's a whole new trend with a dip powder nail product which is supposed to be healthier for your nails than acrylic and gels. I had gotten them done at a different salon and I loved them but being the serial salon jumper that I am I tried a new place, a nice looking place. I REGRET THAT COMPLETELY. I came in with three weeks of growth because dip powder nails last ages! (When done correctly) so they removed what I had on my nails and began the process. They only did 2 layers, instead of the usual 3 which was my first red flag, but I thought hey it's ok they look nice no big deal, I'm sure they know what they are doing. So I walked out content with the job they did. I was washing my hands LATER THAT DAY AND THE NAILS CHIPPED. So I thought, ok it's fine let me go back they can fix it for me maybe I hit it too hard... I went back and the owner of the salon assisted me and ATTEMPTED to fix it. He piled on about three layers on top of the two did NOT follow the proper procedure before filing them with the electric file so my nail product just came off. He kept taking shortcuts and he ended up having to work twice as hard to FIX ONE NAIL. The end result was HORRENDOUS. The nail was thicker than the rest, it was still lumpy because he did not file it down correctly considering its powder and it was a different color from the rest. NATURALLY I tried to deal with it and convince myself that it wasn't that noticeable BUT IT WAS. I WENT BACK FOR THE 3rd TIME. The first girl who did them fixed it for me and I felt relieved, for a day until they chipped again the next day. NEEDLESS TO SAY I WILL NEVER RETURN. Horrible, service. At first I was very pleased with my pedi but 3rd time was not a charm! Jimmy did my pedi and what a terrible job, could tell he didn't care and didn't even want to be there. I asked for a gel color change for my hands and was charged $25????? They have no prices listed and it looks like they charge different prices for same service depending on who your tech is. The Nails Bar is clearly popular, as every time I've been in, it is packed! They are very prompt in greeting people as they walk in and wait time for service is typically very prompt. I came initially, based on other reviews and while it took a few tries to get the experience I was looking for, I'm very happy I found this location. My favorite nail tech is Tony, he is meticulous and takes extra care to get my nails right. In my visits I have also noticed that management is making changes to ensure good service and improve customer satisfaction. Fills with gel polish (no design) run about $35, basic pedicures are $25. I have visited on three separate occasions: My first visit was a fill with gel polish which I was very happy with. I was offered a complimentary drink and seated immediately. I did have an initial shuffle between nail techs but all was good once started. My second visit was a pedicure and fill. It was very busy on this visit and the hostesses (same as previous visit) seemed very disorganized, having difficulty assigning nail techs and service was a bit slow. The nail techs were visibly annoyed and rushed during this visit. My pedicure was outstanding, however my fill was too thin (I split a nail within a few days) and my standard polish was patchy and chipped instantly. I had two different techs for my services. My third visit was a complete turnaround. The previous hostesses were gone, replaced by a pleasant, but no-BS lady who appears to be an owner. I was seated immediately for a pedicure and my fill was performed by the same tech. Tony was excellent and completed my fill and pedicure to perfection. He asked me questions about my nails and gave me a little extra thickness and removed failed acrylic to make sure my manicure would last. The hostess also came by frequently to ensure satisfaction and to offer complimentary drinks. My mother's pedicure and manicure were also beautiful and her tech was excellent (I did not get his name, but he is a regular and did my pedicure previously - very pleasant). Overall, I definitely recommend Tony for nails and Tony and the other male tech for pedicure services. I'm very pleased with the service improvements and I absolutely intend to come back. Looking around the room on my last visit, I saw beautiful work and happy clients. Please keep up the great work The Nails Bar! read more

Walked in and was greeted with a smile by the owner who gladly introduced me to Mimi, the nicest nail tech I've ever had the pleasure of meeting in an EP Salon. I love being able to talk to the person I'm in front of for an hour. A few minutes in, I spot DND gel colors and picked one of my favorite nudes, Mulberry. If you're a nude nails kind of girl, you'll be in heaven with DND. They have so many different colors. Then I find out you get complimentary drinks! I am not exaggerating when I say it was one of the best pina coladas I've had. Sad that not even an actual bar makes it this delicious. Thank you Half Sun for being such a good bartender. The service in the front was great. The young girl went above and beyond. She was very polite and accommodating. The thing I like most about the Nails Bar is that it's exactly that...a nails bar. You get a complimentary drink (alcoholic or not). They offer beer, wine, mixed drinks, soda, juice or water. They have what they offer in their drink menu. I had a Pina Colada. It was very good and hit the spot. I didn't taste any alcohol but it was still good. It was around 100 degrees outside. The young lady asked if I wanted another one but I had to get going so I said no thank you. My nail tech did a good job but he wasn't friendly. He said hi and started talking to his co-worker the whole time. He just asked me what color I wanted after my pedicure and I chose lavender. After the pedi, he asked me if I was getting my fingernails done and I said no. Yeah right, another half hour of awkwardness and silence. No thanks. He was a bit rough when he was cutting my nails which is why I give Nails Bar a solid 4. He didn't tickle my feet that much so that was good. No lie, there's been times when I start giggling out loud during a pedi. I'm very ticklish on my feet. The drink and the lady in front are 5 stars but the nail tech could've been less rough and more outgoing. More reasons why I give this Nails Bar 4 stars. Although I hadn't been in awhile, it's my favorite because of the complimentary drink...the alcohol of course! There's other places that offer water or soda. The worst WORST manicure I have ever received. I looked through the entire shop at all the manicures others were receiving and mine fell VERY short. While everyone else had their hands soaking in water the nail tech just went right into cutting my cuticles... and I sill have cuticle on my nails. Alright so I've been to this nail salon at least a handful of times in the last 2 years. It has a a great atmosphere, the nail techs know what they're doing and they serve alcohol with the visit, which by the way helps me look forward to spending time getting my nails done at this particular nail salon, while I sit in silence. (which I prefer as well) Everything is great at this nail salon, and everytime I visit I don't have to wait no longer than 10 minutes to be attended and ready to start. The only complaint I have is, it is (in my opinion) very expensive!! I went in for what was for me a typical fill and 1 nail repair and the total came out to $41 dollars, not including the debit card processing fee of $3 something and a tip! When I get my nails done at other places, the total was never $41 dollars, except when I went all out with designs gallore or diamonds on every finger. When I heard the total after my nail session, I was like "what the shi*!!!" All in all, the nails are ok and again they serve alcohol with the visit which is always good. To cut to the chase, if you want nice quality nails and good service it's worth the price. *Update 11/27/2017 Ok so fast forward 3 weeks, in the past 3 weeks I have broken 2 nails on separate occasions and they repaired both nails for free! Yay! Today I walked in and Kelly helped me. This is the 2nd time Kelly has done my nails and she really does a great job, along with the owner. Kelly asked me if I was doing ok (on account that she was taking off yet another broken nail, I like my nails long and they tend to break a lot easier long, and made sure she wasn't hurting me. I really enjoy coming to this salon. There is one particular nail tech, he's always smiling and happy and when he fixed my one broken nail the last time, he really made me laugh and definitely made me feel happy about giving this place a good, solid, well deserved 5 stars! read more

Dom did a great job on my nails! He knew exactly what I wanted and he was so friendly. I got long coffin shaped nails with the holographic powder. They look exactly how I wanted them to. DO NOT GO HERE! I chose this salon because it was #2 on yelp on the Westside of El Paso. Good: The salon is quite nice inside with a ton of pedi and Mani stations. Seems it would be great for a big group. Seems clean as well. They offer you free wine or champagne. I guess they have good reviews because guests must be to toasted to care! Bad: I will admit from the beginning that I am not comfortable with confrontation and did not say anything while I was there. That said, I went in for a gel Mani. I asked for a French style polish which I have received at many different salons. The man I saw (who never gave his name) looked petrified at first but began the process of removing my previous gel polish. He immediately suggested a thin layer of acrylic over my natural nail to help strengthen my very thin nails. He gave the impression that I would still have my French gel Mani but also have a thin layer of acrylic to help strengthen my nails. I have had nail techs do that for my recurring split thumb nail and I thought it might be a good idea for all of them. I was hesitant but eventually agreed. I'll try about anything once. However, it wasn't just a thin layer of acrylic. He gave me a full set of acrylic nails (without the tip). I never have had a Mani with the electric grinder but it hurt a lot while it was happening. 9 hrs and bowls of ice water later and my nails are still very sore. They are throbbing and stinging while I type this! Anyway, $50 later, my nails hut like hell, I have no idea how to maintain them since I live in a small town with no nail salon, they look beautiful but I'm still disappointed. I also asked for a round tip (round helps my extra super long, thin fingers looks more dainty). He didn't do anything with my overgrown cuticles, no soaking or massaging, no lotion, nothing. Plus, when I look close, the acrylic seems to be bubbling in places. Overall, I cannot fathom how they are #2. I've been to Avalon nails (down Mesa near resler) and they are more friendly and do a much better job. My two biggest regrets today: I really wish I were more confrontational and I wish I never set foot inside this salon! Heed my review. Anyone who knows me can tell you: I'm not exactly the girliest person you'll meet.. so it's not often I venture into a nail salon. But change "salon" to "bar" and you can count me in! (Not to give the wrong impression, but when I think of leisurely activities and pampering, I always imagine a drink in my hand.) A few weeks ago I felt the need to give my feet some love, and since my husband isn't into that.. I decided to check out the Nail Bar based on a friend's recommendation. (Thanks Ellen) I walked in and was instantly greeted by a nice, friendly young lady who had absolutely no idea what she was doing/talking about. (Don't judge me, keep reading) I was outside of my comfort zone just by being there in the first place, so I never would've known she was clueless had she not said "Today is my first day on the job and im kind of just winging it" but whatevs, we figured some stuff out together then she showed me to my seat and wondered off to find someone to make my drink... I went with a green tea foot bath/pedicure and a margarita on the rocks. Even though there is a bar, the workers are far from bartenders. I used to be one, so I'm always very judgemental when I watch others make my drinks. But hey, the point is to get my nails done with the added perk of drinking! So I got a standard Jose Cuervo mixer with some substandard tequila, but I only pretend to be classy... so I held out my pinky and enjoyed the drink while I sat back and pushed every button on the remote for the reclining chair/back massager. The pedicure was your basic pedicure, but they added some green tea to the water and I got an extremely brief "hot stone massage". More of a tease than anything else. I didn't go over the top with the color/design/whatever because I really don't care (to be honest, I put my shoes on before it dried all the way because I'm impatient, so I ruined it anyway). I was only there for a foot rub and a margarita. In hindsight I should've gone with whatever the basic pedicure option was for only $25ish (the green tea one was like an extra 30 bucks for some dried tea leaves in my water and a touch of a hot stone). Somehow I also got my fingernails done in addition to my toes. I only wanted a basic manicure, no polish.. but found myself learning what "gel polish" is... it's been like 3 weeks and it's still clinging to these nails (I mentioned I am NOT girly, right.. well add lazy to that.. I'm just letting these babies grow out till its gone).... the dude did a good job, I guess. Just didn't speak English well enough for us to communicate effectively. So basically... if I feel the need to reach out to my inner woman again... Or if I just want my feet rubbed while I sip on some booze.. sure, I'll definitely go back. But it's only getting 3 stars because of miscommunication and of the price. I've had the same quality of pedicure (by pedicure, i mostly mean foot rub.. and the comparison is minus the tea leaves and without the added bonus of the aforementioned booze) in other places for less than half the price. read more

EDIT 1/08/16: I came in here Friday to get my nails painted with gel because they were the closest place to me open. I had previously come here and was impressed with the variety of colors you could choose from. Very upset with the quality the technician had to offer me on this visit. They are sloppily painted and have a bumpy surface. For 25 dollars I could've gone to my other tried and true salon that doesn't charge me an extra five dollars for painting gel on acrylic. This salon has lost me as a customer. ---------------- I want to thank Yelp for leading me in the right direction. I was looking for a new nail shop and after one visit here I think this is my new spot. I came in on Wednesday around 11am and waited for a little less than ten minutes but j didn't mind. I hate when you can tell technicians are just hurrying to push people out to serve more customers--work tends to start looking sloppy in my opinion. I had a pink and white set done by Tony. He really made sure with me that I was pleased with the amount of white tip and the shape--two thumbs up for that because I'm very fussy about my nail shape. But he was patient with me which is a nice change from the typical rude nail technicians. I didn't get a pedicure as I recently had one a week ago but I will get one next time I come in for a fill.
