i booked a gel x manicure and regular polish pedicure. i arrived early and the staff was very accommodating. everyone was kind and offered me a seat while i waited. i was also seen earlier than scheduled, which i appreciated after coming straight from work. the pedicure was standard in a nice salon setting with massage chairs and a lap pillow. my tech was quiet and didn't check in beyond the service itself. the manicure is where things fell short for me. i believe my service included cuticle and nail care, but the tech moved straight into gel x prep after cutting my nails. after checking the website later and seeing those services were listed, i did feel misled. i had showed inspiration photos and was told the design was doable. Lily was communicative about the shape, which i appreciated. however, the black french tip had uneven opacity and the lines weren't clean. i found myself having to point out fixes, which made it hard to fully relax. i also noticed other clients doing the same. the cherry nail art ultimately didn't match the inspo i gave. Lily made multiple attempts before getting help. the owner, Linh, stepped in to help with the design and ended up dotting the cherries. i understand the service industry is tough, but for a $115 manicure i expected stronger attention to detail. i do think they were trying though. overall, this was a mixed experience for me. they have a nice staff and clean salon, but pricing feels high for the level of nail art. i paid $155 and tipped $35. this may be a good place for basic pedicures, but i would go elsewhere for detailed nail application and art. the owner is really nice though. read more

I really appreciate how earnest she was about the service, so I'm updating this to a 3 until I can return to try again** Ugh I'm so disappointed. I really wanted to find a new go-to nail salon and the reviews promised amazing things. I scheduled a dazzle dry Mani-pedi for 4:15 and started late at 4:30. Honestly, not an issue for me since it was after work on Friday. I know it gets busy, and the owner seemed friendly. I was really looking forward to a little pampering since I've been too busy to get my nails done lately. Everything felt so rushed though and I had to ask the nail tech to clean my manicure better. Now I really wish I checked my pedicure as well, because it is straight a mess. I want to be kind, but it's just so sloppy-- the polish isn't even, there's some on my pinky toe skin, and the second toe is looking insane. Check my photos for receipts. After I was left for my nails to dry, the nail tech had new clients and just didn't come back to check on me after 15 min lol. I've never left a salon without a quick service of lotion or just an inspection. I had to keep asking around until someone helped me out so I could leave for my dinner date. As this was happening, the owner was happily chatting with another client who seemed like a regular, and then was on her phone for a while. It was a really striking comparison to see how I wasn't given the same attention and respect as the other client. Came to the Muse for a gel manicure after seeing great reviews. They were busy on a Friday afternoon but managed to be very efficient and quickly sat me down to remove my previous polish. They have a good selection of colors and while I appreciated the care that they put into trimming my cuticles and nails I do wish the polish lasted longer. I'm including a picture of my nails about 9 days in and they're already chipping and there's signs of peeling starting towards the base of my nails. Generally a gel mani can last me a month but these aren't looking good at the less than 2 week mark. Prices are very reasonable at $45 for a gel manicure so I may go back and just hope that it lasts 3 weeks. read more

She did my wax as well and all products used smelled so good. $130 before tip and well worth it! My only suggestion is that they get a nail table/desk or try a new method as a ton of nail dust got on me throughout my visit. They're one of the few places w hard gel and their nail art is superb. You can just show them a picture and they pick the colors that somehow match exactly and they hand draw all the art. I've even seen them do 3D! I've tried almost all the nail techs that work there, most recently Lily has been impressive with her attention to detail and eyes like a hawk! She is super detail oriented, looks at my nails from all angles to make sure they're even n flat. My fav thing about her is that she makes me feel at ease! Some nail techs can be too rough, where you feel the buzzing on your nail bed or even accidentally cut you. Lily is super gentle and I feel like I can really relax w her. Something to look out for is they get really busy w appointments so I'd recommend having some buffer time if u have a specific time u need to leave. They also have massage chairs!!! They have lazy boy type of chairs, and lowkey, it's hard to stay awake because it's super comfortable. I've tried dip, gel-x, and regular polish. Buyer beware/TLDR: there are NO massage chairs ;((( what's the point of a pedicure if you're not in a massage chair??? I regret keeping my appt after walking in and realizing I wouldn't be receiving my pedicure in a massage chair. Longer version: I called ahead of time to make an appt for a pedicure with extra 10 min massage. I arrived a few minutes early, a rarity for me (lol), and waited a surprising amount of time before someone acknowledged me and told me to pick my color. The shop was full and it was obvious to me I would not be starting my appt on time. This would have been more acceptable if they told me this, and even better--they should have called me when they realized they weren't running on time. But neither of those things happened. I hovered around the front of the shop twiddling my thumbs until I finally climbed onto the *odd pedicure seating area and started soaking my feet about 10-15 min post-appt start time, and didn't have a nail tech with me until 15-20 min post-appt time. I had the most rudimentary pedicure I'd received in quite some time (barely scrubbed my heals, massage as if it were given by my five year old niece when playing pretend nail shop). To add insult to injury, it wasn't communicated to my tech that I wanted an additional 10 minutes of massage, so it never happened. Every so often nail shops add the extra massage at the end, so I didn't speak up, and when I realized I wouldn't be receiving the extra massage, I was beyond ready to leave the shop, plus didn't want to give them extra money, so it all sorta kinda worked out in the end. It was obvious to me the staff were a) focused on the big money makers: gel/related manicures and b) their "regulars". I always scratch my head when I observe "regulars" receiving a different level of service than other patrons, especially *if* I receive great service, I will tip well + become a regular. Not meant to be for me and The Muse SF. But hey, they have a lot of color options and sounds like if you get in with the right manicurist, you're in good hands. *I call the pedicure seating area odd because the materials + time to build the tall seating apparatus (like a bench throne *shrug* unsure how else to describe it) would see more return for their investment with massage seats. I get there is a maintenance cost for them, but the guest comfort would increase, and it would be easier for patrons to get in and out of their pedicures. read more

I really wanted to make this my new nail spot. The nail art is on point (and the girl who does the nail art is so nice!) and the prices were more than reasonable. However, they have a different tech prep your nails for her. The first time I had a gel nail removal (after having natural nails for 12+ months) the tech went too hard with an electric nail file and destroyed my nails causing hot spots all over. She was so rough and not patient to let the acetone do some of the work so my nails were left tissue thin, which happens after multiple gel manicures with salon removals but not after just one. I've cut my nails down to the nail bed and they're still ripping past that point with how thin they are. Ugh, and I generally have healthy strong nails. I did my second removal at home and just let them soak in acetone for a long time / removed them properly without the use of a file. You really get what you pay for. read more

They are such a sweet nail salon! I loved the way that Cherry shaped my natural nails - I've received so many compliments. She kept checking in to make sure that I liked the shape and color of the polish (especially as I was nervous it might be too sheer). Price was competitive to nearby salons I've went to. I did have to stop by again twice after my appointment on Thursday because a few nails are very subtly cracking - maybe because the weather or my hands are naturally dry. I didn't mind going though because I live close by. They're always very busy (I can see why!) but the team has been very kind and willing to fix any cracks or chips. Linh (the owner) personally took care of me both times and she's super receptive to feedback (plus she remembered me, which I appreciated). I really love these nails and I'm hoping they last a few weeks, so I've been anxious when I see a crack. Luckily Linh and the Muse SF are very kind and helpful! I'm going to see how long these nails last (gel nails usually last around 4 weeks for me), but it's looking like the Muse SF will be my go-to salon and it should be yours too! read more

I've been going to Lynn and her staff for my regular gel manicures for a few months now and it's safe for me to say that I have no complaints. I love the clean, minimalist aesthetic and they always deliver. I also like how they use mostly natural products (I.e., lemon water) as opposed to chemicals during the service. Their gel lasts me a little over 4+ weeks without any chipping, peeling, or lifting. Which is always a surprise to me because I wash my hands a lot lol. I've been to Muse a couple times for regular gel and they were fine, but I was really unimpressed with their hard gel services. The last time I came here, I had hard gel removed (they were done at a different salon) and the nail tech mentioned that what I had was really thick and they could do it way better here. I was excited to come back because it seemed like they're pretty good with designs; however, I left feeling very unhappy with my nails. It's honestly embarrassing that you would let a client leave with nails like that. It's the messiest application I've seen by far and I wanted it removed immediately after leaving but didn't want to cause a scene at the salon. I've never had nails this ugly and embarrassing. It also cost $100 to leave with my nails looking worse than when I entered. The nail salon itself was really busy so my nail tech had to run back and forth between other clients during my time here. I showed a photo of a hard gel design with pink blush, ombré, and 3D add-ons which they said they could replicate but with different stickers and gems. First of all, the hard gel application was so thick and uneven even before anything else was added on. You can see from the photos of the random bulbous-ness on several nails. Second, the photo I showed had pink blush but they showed me an orange-y color from DND. I thought it'd end up similar on the nail since I did have a reference photo that was shown the entire time on my phone and trusted that the nail tech would choose a similar color, but I saw how orange it was in the actual airbrush. By the time I asked to change it to a different color (that was actually similar to the photo), it was too late as it was already mixed in the machine. She gave me a discount for the color mishap. In the end, I left with really messy and bulbous nails with airbrushed gel all over my fingers. I messaged the owner a few hours after coming back home and thinking about how unhappy I was. I asked if it was possible for them to remove my hard gel and just put on regular gel as I've been pleased with that service here previously or if they could just refund and remove my nails. She blamed the design and different combinations of polish, ombré, glitter, etc. but I've had hard gel done with designs elsewhere before without this issue. She also didn't seal the 3D bow which everything to get caught on the corners. They also said the photo I showed was GelX (it's not). They offered a $25 gift card for GelX services next time if I wanted to come back as a solution. I don't think I would come back and I actually had the hard gel removed at a different salon a few blocks away since the nails were already lifting a week later. It's so crazy that you would blame the design I picked when I've had similar designs done at other salons without any issues at all (see photos). She kept pushing that I should have done GelX instead and that hard gel makes it bulky... I've attached photos of what I showed as reference, what I left with, my nails after removal (so much better), and hard gel I've had done at other places showing what it should actually look like when it's not uneven and bulky. read more

They will always work to get you the exact color of your dreams, their manicures are always thin if that's your preference, AND they got me in for waxing my eyebrows during the service which turned out amazing (by Lynn). The service seemed rushed and although the website states the service is a standard 55 minutes, my service was completed in 35. While I appreciate the efficiency of the service, I'm disappointed by feeling rushed and overlooked. It wasn't u til the last 10 minutes of my service that a staff member offered a beverage only after offering another customer a beverage. Overall disappointed by the service. read more

I got a deluxe pedicure, which was nice, but costly ($62). There are two (2) options, regular ($35) and deluxe ($62). Though I decided to treat myself today, I don't normally get pedicures so Im not sure if that price is common or not. When I first came to the shop everyone was nice from the lady at the front desk to the owner of the shop. It was so fun to laughing and talk with the owner of the shop, she is so down to earth that was a nice treat. I also really like that everyone that came to the shop had a picture on their phone of a nail design they wanted and have that nail tech give them actually what they wanted .It's really hard to find nail tech that can actually duplicate the nail design that you find on your phone !
