Phuong is hands down the best waxing experience I've ever had (this is coming from an Indian girl who's tried a lot of different hair removal services). I first started coming to her for waxes in 2019 and have never looked back. Believe it or not, I live in NYC now and still make it a point to get a bikini wax by Phuong whenever I'm in SF, she's THAT good. What makes it special? She uses multiple types of waxes for various areas based on what those areas generally need and your specific skin sensitivity. This makes it as painless as a wax can possibly be. She is super thorough and will go back with tweezers on anything the wax can't pick up and is super thoughtful about after care and also recommending what after care you should continue to do at home after the appointment. Over the years, I've recommended several (5+) of my girlfriends to her and they all have the same glowing review. Her set up is super clean and spacious in an office in FiDi and let's not forget how reasonably priced all her services are. Book now you won't regret it. read more

Phuong is so delightful to work with! I've been going to her for years for my monthly bikini wax. She is thorough, fast, affordable and so likable to boot! Her studio is very clean and quiet and easy to get to from any place near downtown San Francisco. read more

Clean and bright private space in an elevator building. Got an excellent last minute wax that was quick and relatively painless.

I can't believe I've never left a review for Phuong! I've been coming to Pampered for several years for lash extensions and she always does the most amazing job. Phuong is careful, thorough and very friendly, and her studio is modern, super cute and spotlessly clean. The new online booking system is also really convenient. read more

Having moved to San Francisco some time back, it took me a while to chose a parlour where I wanted to go for my waxing needs. Honestly since the time I have started going to Pampered, I didn't even feel the need to go to any other place. This one time I did and then that made me realised that Pampered is one of the best parlour in the Bay Area. Tammy and her mom are super sweet and professional. Their service is impeccable, they make sure theirs no hair left on my body. The pricing is also very reasonable in comparison to other places. Great service, location, value for money and nice owners. It will always be my go to place! read more

Been coming here for several years now. Phuong is quick and thorough. I love that she started doing online bookings now. Super convenient and you can't beat the prices--especially for downtown! read more

I have written a review before and I will write again because I love it here so much, and I truly trust this place for my waxing needs. I've gone here for probably over a decade and now that I have enough time and experience to reflect on my waxing journey, this place in my opinion is truly one of the best and the sweetest as well. I don't know if the mom still works, I hope not. In a good way, though, she needs to enjoy life and retire. I've gotten my waxes by the mom and the daughter. They both have completely different style of waxing but are very thorough and detailed oriented. They will get your ingrown if they see it, and safely. And, the daughter is fast, or maybe I just don't have much hair anymore, I don't know but yea (that might be a bit tmi). Anyways, if you ever come here, I suggest to take public transportation because parking is a bitch unless you feel lucky or you don't mind paying for parking. And the price is reasonable unlike other places. Tbh, I keep coming back because I simply love this place. Phoung is so sweet, compassionate and she's just good at what she does. Please support this family business, you won't regret it. read more

Phuong is the best!!! She's the first and only person to wax me. I sincerely have no need to even test the market, ya know? See what else is out there. Nah. Papered for life. read more

Loved Pampered.. I think I've found my new go-to Brazilian wax place in the city! Phuong was very sweet and very detailed - also barely painful! read more

Quality of service was incredible, especially for the price you are paying! Phuong was very friendly and made me feel comfortable the whole time. read more

I was really hesitant to try someone new because, let's face it, getting comfy flashing all your bits to a complete stranger is weird! I was really glad I found Pampered - they squeezed me in for a same-day appointment after work. The mother/daughter team worked in tandem so I got in and out quickly, but they were both METICULOUS in their work and I felt completely relaxed and at ease. The intimate wax was relatively painless even with all the extra growth. Their prices are super competitive, but don't let that trick you into thinking the quality isn't there. I have spent far more and received far worse service at some of the trendy chains around. It might not be the fanciest setting, but the cleanliness, care, and professionalism are above and beyond most. Will definitely be seeing them again! read more

Used to go pre-COVID and today was my first time back! Kinda hard to get to the DT area but was able to find parking at a meter! Even before COVID I noticed how clean she was but I really appreciate it. $45 for a Brazilian with someone who is up to date with cleanliness standards? Can't be beat!! Also happy to be able to walk to Tacorea after and get a bulgogi burrito :) read more

I called for an arm wax. Phuong was SO accommodating with my (awful) timing. I'm so grateful for her and her mom. She did an amazing job (: The studio was quaint and clean. Will be back! (: read more

Is it possible to give them a 6 star review? I mean Tammy and her daughter are the cutest most professional and they probably gave me the fastest most pain free wax! They oscillate between hard and soft wax based on the need and your hair type! I just found my new fav place to get waxed! read more

It's my first time doing Brazilian waxing. I was thinking about doing it at home by myself but I am happy I came for professional help! It's painful but she did it so well that I survived and didn't cry! Not dropping even one tear. It was a smooth, fast and delightful experiences. I am not afraid to come back again! read more

Came here for the first time last week for a pedicure, and its a MUST to make an appointment. I'm sure they take walk-ins but the place is really tiny, they only have two chairs for pedicures. The place isn't hard to find however it is in a tall office building (5th floor). They don't really have a ton of colors to choose from and I generally bring my own color anyway. Colors are mostly red shades by OPI and looked a bit old IMO. I would describe this place as a "hole in the wall" place. Ladies in there are very nice and they didn't really talk amongst themselves (which I could care less if places do). My appointment time was 11:30 and I was out by 12:15. Pedicure was $17. I was a little grossed out by the sanitation process they have, or lack thereof, for their tools. Small brush and hand soap??? Evidently this place is popular for their waxing services (brows, leg, brazilian, under arm etc.) two gals were there waiting for their turn behind the little partition they had up. And they had to increase their price by $5 which IMO means they are in demand. Anyway, while my toes were drying, the lady who did my pedi cleaned the tools using hand soap you can buy at Target and a small brush. Fine whatever. But then a gal left after getting whatever waxed and the lady who helped her used the same brush and method to clean the tools she used on that gal YUK!!!! GROSS!!! I thankfully don't have to get waxing done other than my brows but their method has to change and its just wrong! The tools that go on peoples feet are cleaned by the same tools used to wax girls vajay-jays!?!!!??!? Overall, I was happy with my pedicure, cost, attention to detail, quick, convenient location by my office, quiet environment (aside from WILD 94.9 playing softly). But really a hole in the wall place with a serious need to change their "sanitation process" ASAP. CASH ONLY MAKE APPT. read more

The lady was so gentle and communicative! Can't wait to come back again!! Very satisfied

LOVE THIS PLACE! My friend recommended me here and the lady is really good! She doesn't make it awkward and gets every piece of hair which is great. Go early to find street parking or get dropped off and the place inside is cute and comfortable! read more

I can't believe that I was able to find a place that have services for such a good affordable price! I've been coming here since around March and the service have been wonderful. It's very clean and hygienic and Phuong is super responsive and answered many of the questions and concerns that I had for my first experience. She was very knowledgeable on what she does and she made the whole experience very comfortable for me. And I don't think you can find anything cheaper than what's given here. She also goes back in with a tweezer to make sure that she really gets the whole area clean and spotless before letting you leave her office. The appointments are also super quick which is a plus. I've never had to wait when I get there and I'm always out of there within 15 minutes! I highly recommend this place to anyone who's looking for something affordable and gets the job done ! read more

I've been going here since 2015 for everything waxing, and had a great experience every single time. The place is run by a wonderful mother daughter. They are clean and organized. I never had to wait even 2 minutes for my appointments and never left with sticky wax on my body or discovering patches of hair here and there when I get home. I was really worried that they'll go out of business during Covid but so happy they didn't. I highly recommend this place. read more

I've recently discovered Pampered by Tammy and I wish I had sooner. Tammy is very knowledgable about what to do to prevent ingrown hair and willing to explain everything in depth. They are meticulous but manage to get everything done. This was by far one of the best waxes I have ever had. She made me feel super comfortable and utilized various different waxes/tweezers depending. I didn't feel an ounce of pain! I would recommend her for any of your waxing needs. read more

Since I moved to the bay I have not been able to find a good wax place. I usually would wait until I went back to LA for my Brazilian wax. Well not anymore! So happy I found this place. Tammy is so friendly and quick! I highly recommend! read more

I usually get my Brazilian waxes in Hayward. Was in the city and needed one before school that was inexpensive but good quality. The wax I usually get in Hayward is the same price as this ($35) so that's when I decided I'll search on yelp for a good place. Based on the quality of the Brazilian wax I got, I'd give it a 5 stars. Service on the other hand? Not so much - wasn't what I was expecting. There were two women in the room and I felt kind of awkward having two people watching me down there.. There was a younger woman and an older woman (Tammy). The younger woman assisted me first & I'm going to guess she was the assistant. I don't know if she messed up or didn't know how to do something but it was like the longest 30 minutes of my life in there!! Felt a bit painful.. She kept asking Tammy for help and I felt like Tammy was teaching her what to do (sorry but I don't want to be a test subject without being notified!!) Also Tammy needed my help in some areas.. and it was just awkward.. Honestly I wouldn't come here again unless I was in a rush.. read more

Tammy's daughter did a great job! She will make you feel super comfortable and go in with various different waxes/tweezers depending on what your hair/skin type needs. I didn't feel an ounce of pain! And I'm very prone to pain. Thank you so much! read more

TAMMY is amazing and is my new SF waxer! I read all of the reviews and decided to make an appointment. I called Tammy on 3/23 and she was able to see me at Noon today for a Brazilian, upper leg, tummy and under arms. The nail shop is clean and neat; with two partitioned rooms for waxing. Tammy is a sweet lady, true professional and extremely diligent. She makes you feel very comfortable. Tammy makes sure you are clean from any wax residue and at the end she applys a anti-hair bump solution - Top Notch! Her prices are extremely affordable! I will definitely go back in about 2-3 weeks for a touch-up! I shedded my winter coat and Spring has Sprung, thanks to TAMMY!! read more

This is my go to place for waxing in SF! I've been going to Pampered for a couple years now. The experience is always great - impeccable waxing, zero awkwardness (in fact, really nice chats!) and very reasonable price. I usually bike or take public transport because parking can be hard, but it's well worth it. Highly recommend! read more

I've gone to Pampered by Tammy twice now and I have been super satisfied by their waxing services both times. They are meticulous but manage to get everything done in roughly 30 minutes. I spontaneously decided to get my lower legs waxed while getting a Brazilian and Tammy and her daughter worked lightning fast. My legs have never been smoother. I loved how honest they were about how frequently I should be going (6-8 weeks) because most places will tell you to come back as soon as possible. read more

It threw me off a bit that this place seemed to be in an office building lol, but it was very neat and clean. They did a good job with my eyebrows, but burned me a bit so now i have small marks and my eyebrows hurt. The photo of the price list that someone posted on yelp is helpful, but i think some of their prices went up - still comparable with similar businesses in the area read more

Phuong is really great at waxing. No hairs are left behind , she also educates you on how to maintain in-grown free skin in between. I highly recommend read more

This is an awesome salon-- it is a private small hygienic suite with a very kind, professional, and affable owner. Very clean, adherent with COVID rules, taking extra precautions to ensure I was comfortable and everything was clean and prepped for me, and the next person. Tammy is skillful, detailed, soft-handed, and thorough. read more

tammy is extremely thorough, quick and kind! brazillian waxes are $40 and she prefers cash but also has venmo and does take card! i highly recommend tammy. $40 is really cheap since its post quarantine i guarantee this is the cheapest place in sf to get waxed because i checked- all other places have raised their prices in response she uses a mix of different waxes (sugaring and hard wax) and tweezes you afterwards too! she switches up her methods depending on your skin, which will give you less pain (if any!), and what works best for that area. she takes under 30 min usually. as a plus, she is also vietnamese (like me) and i loved hearing her stories about her optimism during such a rough time despite a lot of challenges coming her way (she just had a grandchild) so i highly recommend going here to support small local businesses and genuine, great workers! read more

It has been 8 months since I have been able to experience being pampered by Tammy. Oh how I missed her. Due to Covid, Tammy is taking extra precaution with sanitizing and no contact payment options. Everything was very clean. I feel like a woman again! read more

The best! I've been coming here for over 8 years and can't believe it's taken me so long to review. Mother and daughter run this charming little salon where they do an amazing job with waxing at such an affordable price! I love the convenient downtown location and they are so super friendly and meticulous with waxing. I usually get the Brazilian wax and Tammy is so and efficient yet detailed. She really cares. Whenever I leave, I end up feeling super sexy and ready to wear that bikini on the beach! Even now that I live in Berlin, I come back whenever I'm in San Francisco. I highly recommend coming here for waxing. You cannot find a better price for such high quality service! :) read more

Kim M This place is great! I have been coming to Tammy and her daughter for waxing services about once a month for over 6 years. Tammy has a great way of making it super quick and not at all painful. Very convenient location near Union Square too! read more

After going to get my Brazilian wax here, I will never go anywhere else. I've been to so many waxing salons and no one has even come close to her. Tammy very educated in which waxes to use and uses different types and strengths on different area. She's such a perfectionist, if you have stray hairs after your wax, she will help tweeze them for you to ensure a clean wax. She even offers a early bird discount if you go early on certain weekdays and even without the discount, her prices are so affordable! I live in San Mateo and I will drive to San Francisco because I won't go anywhere else for my waxes. read more

Had the most stressful, unpleasant time here! I called ahead, and made an appointment for a mani and wax. I asked if they took credit cards, and they said yes. I asked if there was a minimum, and they said no. I get there, and am not greeted by anyone. This place is a crappy little hole in the wall! Cramped, depressing, and there's no separation for the waxing area. Um, no thanks... I picked out my color, then waited for THIRTY minutes until someone acknowledged me. During my manicure, they told me they no longer had time for my wax. WTF? That's why I made an appointment! When it came time to pay, I used my credit card. I got yelled at by Tammy, who screamed, "NEXT TIME YOU PAY WITH CASH!" So why didn't they tell me it was cash only on the phone? Regardless, she didn't need to freak out on me (she also talked shit about me in Vietnamese to the nail tech). Sorry, Tammy. There won't be a next time. With so many nail salons in the city, no one needs to put up with attitude and bad vibes! This place isn't cheap either. read more

This place is tucked away in a large building on the 5th floor. Walked in for a manicure because I just got off a plane and needed to relax before an interview. Amy greeted me and I loved the way she did my nails. She's very straightforward during the process, asking me to take off my jacket and suggesting I pay first after she gave the hand massage and buffed my nails since I might ruin my nails by digging through my purse. The whole experience isn't as high-tech as those salons with the UV lights, etc (they had a dinky fan for the fingernail drying haha), BUT it's very satisfying. ALSO, my nails looked GREAT. I appreciated the care Amy took on each nail; she shaped my pinky, asked me how I liked it, and did the rest. She then took care to buff out the bumps on my nails and carefully trimmed my cuticles. Other places sometimes hurry through, but Amy was very detailed. They way she applied the polish was with care and she did thin layers. It's been a week and I've abused my fingers (playing the guitar, gnawing on them during hunger games, etc), and they've withstood the storm rather unscathed. I loved it here. Simple, unassuming place. $10 for nails is chill man. Amy genuinely cared for me. It *was* awkward though, hearing the brazilian being done on the other side of the screen, but it seems from even that exchange that people at Pampered Nail really are caring and gentle. read more

I love Tammy. The best value for a Brazilian in the city. The reviews that laud her meticulousness are right. She has an adroit attention to detail and any errant hair is no match. Sometimes I wish she weren't so thorough because I'm not trying to be a vagina model but I appreciate her efforts. She doesn't double dip into wax and is unfazed by any...situation. Come here if you want a thorough, judgement-free wax Yes, she answers the phone and sometimes has another lady sitting in on my wax. She's a busy lady running her own business; let her take the call! Also, she has been dialing back on her work load (I think she's had some health issues unfortunately) so I think she's training people to maintain the caliber of waxing that her customers are accustomed to, which I appreciate. She's not super chatty on her own but I have engaged her in conversations. I actually prefer a quiet wax because I'm not as good of a conversationalist when I'm spread eagle on a table. Bottom line: she's a sweet lady with mad wax skills. I refer all my friends to her and they've all been pleased! She prefers cash and your vagina is in her hands so give the woman what she wants. read more
