Today was my first time seeing Mai and she is so sweet and great at what she does. The building can be a little bit suspect, but she is pretty responsive via cell phone. As soon as I notified her that I was downstairs, she acknowledged and came down to get me in less than 5 minutes. The service was quick and pretty much painless. Her work space is small, but calming and welcoming with all of the plants and peaceful music. What's even better is the location is easily accessible via public transportation. I will definitely be back to try the various pampering services that she offers. Thank you Mai for a great experience. Bonus: scheduling an appointment online is as easy as can be and you'll receive confirmation texts and reminders read more

Mai makes the experience incredibly comfortable. She is really nice and eases you into your session very easily. The waxing itself is well done and pretty quick which I appreciate! read more

Why have I not posted a review for Mai?! I have been coming to her for waxing for several years and actually followed her from her previous location. She is amazing, her services are very reasonably priced, and she is a joy to engage with. Her spa is so relaxing, literally a little jungle on Market street. The location is not my first choice, but I come in from Marin County to support her and get much needed pampering. read more

This is a long overdue review for years of exceptional service. Mai is the absolute best in hair removal. Particularly, Brazilian wax, which is the service she's done for me throughout the years. Mai makes what is an uncomfortable experience enjoyable and painless. She is extremely detailed, taking the extra care to get every last hair and I appreciate her so much for being patient, calm and quick at her craft. Brazilian wax treatments can be painful and uncomfortable, but not with Mai. She gets the job done in lightning speed and with great conversation along the way. I have gone to many other places in the past, paid way more money, endured pain and felt incredibly disappointed. This all changed after working with Mai. She is truly the best, and her space is relaxing and clean. Give her a try, I guarantee you won't regret it. Mai is fantastic! read more

5/5-I found this place super last minute for an underarm wax before a weekend event. The place is a little hidden away and note that you do have to ring a number to get up, but Mai is super helpful over text and will help you find the place. The whole appointment was quick, efficient, and enjoyable- never thought I'd ever say that about waxing. I love that Mai takes the extra care to tweeze and also make conversation with you. I found out that she was originally from Japan and has been doing waxing for around 20 years! Also saw that she does facials as well and will probably be coming back soon for another appointment. read more

Mai is amazing at what she does! I was a rough 2 before my visit and now every woman on street can't get enough of me ... turning heads like crazy. jk but seriously she is very easy to work with, drafts a custom routine for your skin type and delivers more than expected. Her studio feels like getting skin nourishment while you're in middle of Amazon forest it's very refreshing. Would recommend her for anything related to skin care read more

I am pregnancy & got a Brazilian and underarm wax. She was so gentle, thank you! I am especially grateful that she took her time instead of rushing, waxed in smaller sections (that's what it felt like) instead of massive painful strips. Wish everyone waxed like her. Plus she is super personable , friendly and kind! read more

Mai is great! I've been getting waxed by her for years. She's super thorough and makes what can be an uncomfortable situation easy, quick, and relaxed. I've also gotten some amazing facials from her, and she's great at shaping brows! read more

I've been seeing Mai for a few years and every time, she provides a professional, comfortable and lovely experience. Her suite is beautifully decorated and is completely immaculate. Mai herself is so warm and relaxed, I've never felt weird or judged. Waxing can be tough in general and you never know what you'll get - but each time I go to Mai I know I'm getting a waxing experience that's in a class of its own. Like another reviewer said, I won't go to anyone else at this point :-) read more

I had been on a search for a technician I can go to consistently for quite a while now and I am so thrilled to have found Mai! I have very sensitive skin that actually ended up bleeding at a few other wax locations I've tried, but I did not have any problems after a session with Mai. The workshop is very clean and comfortable, with warming sunlight and generous number of planters scattered about the room that instantly made me feel welcomed. Mai herself was very professional but easy-going and super personable. She is attentive to detail but swift in her movements. I did not feel like she was trying to rush through the work one bit. I think this is as pleasant as a waxing experience can honestly get! I was so happy after my session with Mai that I left smiling (what was this, a date?). The outside is a bit shady but please don't let that phase you. read more

Mai is great!!! Her space is clean and she's friendly. Her service was efficient and through. You can book online which is a plus. I've struggled to find a place at a fair price that does a good job, and is clean. I'll def come back for mais services . :) read more

My second time here! Mai puts a lot of care into her services. Her place is also very calming to be in. Would recommend !!

Although this is a new business, I've been seeing Mai for my waxing for years in her previous location - she does an awesome job, super professional, and bonus - she is a great conversationalist! I am so happy that she has moved into her own new space - and it's a super convenient location just steps from Union Sq and Powell BART. Don't be turned off by the sketchy entrance (it is Market St after all) - she has a beautiful welcoming and soothing space up on the 3rd floor, with bright natural light! read more

I basically walked in looking like an overgrown jungle swamp monster and I came out clean on the other side. Mai is so wonderful and makes you feel incredibly comfortable with her professionalism and easy going personality. We were chatting the whole time, she was laughing and very engaging. I felt instantly at peace. She's super easy to talk to and she doesn't beat around the bush (literally), she weed whacks it and leaves you feeling like a new, lighter, happier person! Her waxing studio is AMAZING! Clean with soothing music and lush plants hanging from the ceiling and in little shelved nooks. From the outside it looks like a regular building so it's shocking to see how she's designed it so beautifully. She was super quick to respond and was able to see me that same day at 7:15pm which was very appreciated. I will be going back again and again. You should too! read more

Congrats Mai on your new space!! I have been a client of Mai's for the past couple years. Each time I have come for waxing it is a pleasant quick process. Mai is absolutely great! She gives me a brand new set of brows each time. Don't get me wrong, she is persistence with her work, except she doesn't give you a cookie cutter treatment. She really works with the condition of your face, and give you the best solution! Just thought of writing a review after few years of consistently great service. read more

Mai is absolutely wonderful! I have been a client of Mai's for probably close to 3 years now, and my face is always glowing after her facials. She is gentle, yet thorough - the best combination. I am a super fan of her space, really lovely. I don't trust anyone else for my facials except Mai :) read more

I was able to schedule an appointment same day and she even accommodated me when I got lost and was running 15 minutes late. The space is private and comfortable. This was the least painful bikini wax I've ever had and didn't have any of the usual just waxed discomfort for the rest of the day. My only regret is that I didn't come here sooner! Thank you! read more

She was the first person I met when I moved to San Francisco (brows are very important to me, so I booked an appt right away)....four years later, she is still the *only* person that's allowed to touch my brows. She is amazing! I go in every other week for a brow wax and she is always professional, kind, and always does an incredible job. read more

I've been going to Mai for my waxing needs for a few years now as she was recommended to me from a close friend. Mai does an amazing job and is so friendly and professional. I love the new space as it's airy and convenient too! read more

I've been going to Mai for the past 4.5 years and could not ask for a better esthetician! From my very first appointment Mai has been engaging and one of the first estheticians that remembers and actively uses preventative actions on sensitive areas. She has built a great business has provides excellent service. I would highly recommend visiting Mai for any and all skin care appointments! read more

Mai is simply superb. I have been using her services for a couple of years now and I can honestly say that I have traveled the world to find someone like her with the skill set, professionalism, and meticulous nature that is necessary for skin and body care. I live in the South Bay but every time I need a bro service, I will go out of my way, fight through the brutal traffic so that Mai can take care of my needs. I am grateful, my woman is happy with the work, and that is what matters. Mai is the very best and is good to see she has now opened her own practice. read more

I've seen Mai ~3 times this summer for waxing, and the experience is always very relaxing, not what'd you expect with wax on your face :) I love the location on Market, and the interior is simple, elegant and clean. I highly recommend Mai. The online appointment scheduler is extremely handy for last-minute appointments! read more

I've been Mai's customer for +4 years and she is the best esthetician I know. I will not go to anyone else for waxing. Waxing is not fun, but Mai is fast, careful and thorough. Her new studio is very welcoming, clean and comfortable. I cannot recommend her enough! read more
