Patty is such a find. Her place is clean, and centrally located in Japantown! You can't beat her warm and down to earth personality. I love how she is extremely honest and so generous and caring with her work and time. Her prices are amazing. I've come mainly for waxes. but over the last month I've had the worst cystic acne I've ever had at age 40. I didn't know the source reason and she CAME UP WITH it, not my dermatologist! I love this place! Patty is amazing and honest! I came in around Sept 2018 with an appointment for lash extensions (first time ever). After Patty explained what was needed to keep them maintained I decided not to get them (she didn't charge me for wasting her time). My lashes at the time were not long/full enough (Asian eyes, barely have any lashes) to get the lash lift. She recommended a lash serum which I used every night since then. I've been wanting to try Keratin Lash Lifting but couldn't find any salons that provide this service in East Bay, so when I read all the stellar reviews for Sugar Skincare, I decided to drive to the city and try this place out. I had my lashes lifted with Patty. She was super sweet and explained the whole process since I've never done this before. I have thick, straight lashes that are apparently stubborn so it didn't curl as I expected, my right eye is a lot curlier than my left but I am still happy with the results. Just hoping that my lashes will stay curled as long as possible! The whole process was pain free, I actually fell asleep while Patty was working on my lashes! I just had my first appointment with Patty & I am so impressed. I usually get my face threaded but I was so over the painful process so I decided to give a full face wax a try. I was lucky enough to call her & get a same day appointment. It was my first time getting a full face wax so I wasn't exactly sure what to expect. I have gone back for lash lifts a few times now and the results have all been wonderful! No more breakage and lashes grow with the normal growth cycle. I still use a growth enhancer to help get nice full lashes anyway, but the lift replaces using the damaging eyelash curler everyday. read more

I sumbled upon Sugar Skincare by doing a search for bikini waxing in the neighborhood. I read the reviews and wanted someone nearby. Talk about convenience! Patty is located right next door to the Aloha Warehouse, which I never even knew it existed. It was a last minute decision and I was doubtful about being able to get an appointment. But, Patty was able to offer 2:30 or 4:00. I chose to go at 4:00 and she was finishing up on another client's eyebrows. I had tried waxing once before at another salon and it was just "okay." Patty's salon is so cute and pristine. I decided to go for the extended Brazilian this time and was scared, because I hadn't had one before. But, before I knew it, she was chatting with me, advising me to take a deep breath and blow, while she gently ripped the hairs from the most delicate place on a woman's body.
