Maya is amazing! It's been quite difficult for me to find an eyebrow specialist I like so I've been changing different stylist for the past couple years. Sometimes I feel like just giving up and maintaining my own eyebrows. However, Maya did such a wonderful job on shaping my eyebrows. She is efficient and attentive as well; my first session with her took less than 30 minutes. She does a mix of waxing, threading, shaving, and plugging. Her initial session is more expensive but if you book your subsequent session within 8 weeks, you'll get a cheaper maintenance price. I'll be coming to her from now on!! She also does facial so maybe I'll try that out as well someday. The location is conveniently located downtown on the second floor in a building that has multiple stalls of cosmetologists - ranging from facial, hair, nail, etc. It is clean and easy to find. read more

I got my eyebrows waxed and threaded + an underarm wax. This was my first time at Maya's and I'm very happy with the results! k Kopila was very thorough and took her time with my brows and kept them very natural which I appreciate since many people in the past have made them look strange and unnatural for my face. I don't wear makeup so I prefer a nice cleanup so I look groomed. The process was pretty painless. The environment of the space was pretty relaxing, nice music in the background. I'll definitely be back to try out a facial next. read more

Maya Beauty and Brows - Eyebrows after waxing and threading. I asked for a natural look so this is perfect for me! - Waxing Near Me - San Francisco, California

I've been going to Maya for brow threading for a while now, and I honestly can't imagine trusting anyone else with my brows! She is incredibly thorough, always checks in to make sure I'm happy with the results, and somehow makes the whole process super painless. My brows always come out clean and perfectly shaped. I recently started seeing her for facials, and wow -- total game changer. The experience is so relaxing, and Maya really takes her time to make sure I'm comfortable every step of the way. She has such a calming presence, and you can tell she truly cares about her clients. When I walk out of my appointment, my skin is literally glowing. If you're looking for someone who is detail-oriented, kind, and truly skilled at what she does, Maya is it. Can't recommend her enough! read more

Started off with going to see Maya for eyebrow threading every two weeks for a few months. Loved how fast and painless the service is. She really puts in effort to ensure the eyebrows are even. Fast forward to a year later, I started to go to her for facials. I have oily sensitive skin with occasional acne. I would float between getting the red carpet facial, which has no down time; or get dermaplaned with a couple of days down time. I usually plan a facial with her before a big event and she has never failed me. She makes the whole space so relaxing and comfortable that I would fall asleep during the facials. Just started getting sugared by her and I like how fast and easy these appointments are. It is really nice to have two of my services in one appointment to make things easier on both of our schedules. It is super easy to book her services online in advance. I usually book at least a month out. read more

She should just say appointment only. There's a sign on the street advertising to come in, only to come in to a closed door.. wait 10 mins for her to come out confused saying "can I help you?" Politely asked for a walk in and said you have to wait, I said of course and continued to wait... only for her to come out 10 mins later and say "Nevermind I don't have time today please make an appointment" - not a problem had I been told that 20 mins before wasting my lunch break. read more

I've been going to this place for about 2 years now. I mostly see Kopila but have also received services from Maya and both are fantastic! Kopila has been taking care of my eyebrows for years now. She is thorough and gives very nice mini brow massage after eyebrow threading. One day I got tired of shaving my underarms and decided to try their waxing services as well. I had a very comfortable and pain free session with Kopila and has kept coming back ever since. I stopped shaving cause the hair has started to grow thinner too and just wait until I can see Kopila. I have since moved out of SF but I always make it point to call and see if they have open slots. The place is very clean and relaxing too. read more

I want to start off by saying I've had the worst luck when it comes to eyebrows. I've never had consistency with having one person do my eyebrows because they were made too thin or weird shape. I had the most amazing experience today and I will definitely be a regular! First of all, Kopila is the sweetest person ever. She gives off such a positive vibe and makes you feel so comfortable. I felt like I was talking to a friend because she is so friendly and really cares about her customers. My cousin had recommended I come with her to her appointment and get my brows done since she's known Kopila for years. Kopila was super gentle when threading and took into account I was super sensitive. It truly was the best threading experience! I've bled before from other brow places because they rush too quickly. Kopila took her time to ensure I was entirely satisfied with the shape, which I definitely was! She also tinted them and that elevated my brows to the next level. I would also love to mention her station is absolutely clean and she plays such relaxing music. I feel at ease knowing I can come to Kopila, especially with my upcoming wedding. I want to ensure my brows continue to look this great! I came all the way from Walnut Creek into the city during the heavy rain and traffic...that should be convincing enough to show she's the best and so worth it! I recommend you park at the Hearst Parking Garage because it's a quick 2 minute walk over and your car is safe in there. read more

Maya did a great job with my eyebrows. I have been looking for a new waxing place. Today was my 1st time, and Maya was great. We spoke about what I was looking for, shape wise. She did a fabulous job. Will definitely be a return client. read more

I did an eyebrow threading and tint with Maya, my first time here. The tinting made my eyebrows look very uneven, and I know because my husband immediately said, your eyebrows are uneven and would keep making this face at me: I told her it was uneven once I saw it and she pretended she didn't know what I was talking about, but did try to fix it with tint remover and told me I could wash my face if I wanted it to fade faster. They also charge an extra $10 if it's your first time threading with them. read more

My first time here I went to Kopila because of the yelp reviews. I have thin brows and scared to get it shaped because I was afraid it was going to be over plucked. I still wanted my eye brows to take time to grow up but still I wanted get it tinted to look fuller. I changed my tinted to henna and she was extremely helpful and didn't mind changing it. She shaped it and made it look a lot better than it was before. I didn't try the ombre effect until my second session there to make it look softer. I would suggest if you would like it to look a particular way always address it because they will do their best to fit your needs. Definitely recommend the place because staff is super friendly helpful and always recommending the best approach. Definitely will be coming back. read more

Extremely happy with my eyebrows! I love the consistency. I can confidently sit in the chair and ask for what I want and walk out with exactly that! read more

She is awesome & REALLY good with threading as well. I'm always scared someone is going to take my big brows and make them tiny and thin but she was so mindful! read more

Maya Beauty and Brows - Maya slayed my brows!!! - Waxing Near Me - San Francisco, California

Kopila is the best of the best - extremely thorough, thoughtful and is the definition of perfectionist. As an Indian gal, I'm very very particular about my eyebrows and the shape. Her threading skill always goes above and beyond. When I do waxing, I never get burned and she always is very exact and fast. I've been going to her for 6 years (I followed her when she started her new business) -- everyone always asks me where I get my brows done :) She deserves all these amazing reviews! read more

I have been seeing Kopila for 3 years now and I will continue seeing her all my life! My eyebrows grow in very unevenly, she somehow makes them look the same every time! And she's can do many shapes and styles, over the years I've asked for skinny eyebrows, long, short, arched, flat, round, sharp, and she excited them all beautifully! Trust me, even if you don't like my eyebrows you will like the way Kopila does your eyebrows! She's kind, smart, and TALENTED! read more

Oh my god. I got THE BEST threading and tint of my life today at Maya. I have very sparse, light colored, and generally shapeless eyebrows. I don't dare touch them myself for fear 1 or 2 hairs will change the entire shape. I am so particular about my eyebrows that I have never really been loyal to a particular esthetician because I haven't found one I liked. Today Kopila changed the shape of my face by arching my eyebrows beautifully and tinting them to a super natural color. I feel like I got a facelift. She also gave me an unbelievable head massage. I cannot wait to go back. Cannot recommend enough. read more

Kopila is the best in the business! I've been coming to her for over two years. As soon as she opened her salon, I followed her. I have tried many other places, but it's not the same. Kopila takes her time threading and tinting my eyebrows. I found her when I was visiting San Francisco, and now I commute from Brentwood to SF once a month because I refuse to go anywhere else. She's worth it. I highly recommend all of her services. read more

I've been seeing Kopila for eyebrow threading for several years. She's great at men's eyebrows-- cleaning them up but not overdoing it or shaping them (if that's what you ask for). I also find her technique much less painful than other people I've tried for threading. read more

I've gone to Kopila for my brows since before the pandemic, so happy to see her finally getting a chance to start her own business! I've got two uneven brows, one with an odd little bald spot in it. Since coming to Kopila, I've truly been unable to go elsewhere and risk someone just doing a careless job with them! Kopila is also incredibly thoughtful and always puts her customers first. She's been able to accommodate last minute schedule changes, last-minute appointments, and even advised me on the right cadence for my regular appointments (even though me wanting to come in more frequently would make her more $). Can't be more grateful that I've found my go-to! read more

Kopila is the best in the business! I first met her a couple years ago when I had never gotten my eyebrows waxed before. She was super friendly, super helpful, and did an amazing job. I've been seeing her ever since that first visit and she is the only person I trust my eyebrows with. When she told me that she was opening up her own spot, it was a NO BRAINER to follow her to her beautiful new location. My eyebrows thank me every time I pay a visit to Kopila, and I KNOW that yours will too! read more

Really easy to make reservations and quick service for brow threading. My brows came out great!

I came here for the first time to get my eyebrows done. Maya answered the phone and scheduled me in quickly. I decided to go with threading. It was the easiest, least painful and quickest threading I've ever had done. Maya has such an expert, gentle hand. She is also warm and welcoming, so easy to talk to, making the experience very comfortable. I was very satisfied with the way my brows came out. The service was affordable at $18 for the eyebrow threading. I would definitely recommend this place, for the great service and quality care. read more

Came around the corner here after I tried 3 different salons that all closed early on a Saturday. What a nice surprise to see it was run by Kopila, who was a great longtime staff member back at Nirvana Beauty and Brows on Columbus! She did a great job pre pandemic but we lost touch after I no longer worked downtown. Her prices are reasonable for the city and the location ($27 lip+brow threading). Plus she is a real sweetheart. Really happy with both how my brows turned out and the fact that she's got her own place now! read more

Kopila is amazing! I have very thick eyebrows that grow back quickly. I don't know what I would do without Kopila! She has been doing my eyebrows for about over 5 or 6 years now at the last place she worked at. So happy to be able to find her again here at Maya Beauty and Brows! She takes her time shaping and helping me fix any mistakes I make when I eagerly pluck between threading sessions. I am so grateful to find someone that really knows what they are doing (so rare to find in SF/Oakland). I no longer work in the SF and make my way to the city every 2 weeks because Kopila is that good!!! In terms of location it is super convenient too! (Right on Market next to Montgomery Bart) read more
