I stopped by here earlier today with my wife and her parents for coffee. The inside of The Morning Grind is quite spacious and nicely decorated. It's floor looks like hardwood but is probably a composite and the restaurant has an open concept. The main seating area is right beside you whenever you walk in and then in the corner there is a couple of couches along with a fireplace. There is also another lounge like seating area down the hall and past the bathrooms. On this day I decided to go with my normal large Americano. The coffee was decent with no bitterness to it at all. It wasn't the best coffee that I have ever had but it was a solid cup of joe and better than any macro chain would serve me. The bottom line for is that I would head back here again in the future. I really enjoyed the decor of the restaurant and found the coffee to be decent as well. read more

Drinks are very inconsistent and staff always changing. Even if I know a certain barista (Kat) is good you don't know if they're there until you enter and the staff is always changing anyway. What a great way to start your morning or give yourself that extra jolt to battle through the humdrum afternoon. This place has all the goods of a chain coffee shop with the atmosphere of a spa. Love LOVE this new find!!!! The place is well constructed and very clean with a relaxing atmosphere thats totally geared to the customer. A large lounge area with sofas and comfy chairs surround a digital faux fireplace. Great place to park that bottom and ingest that Java til the eyelids become fully open. So serene. In the back, a large library type atmosphere complete with books, reading, tables, and flat screen TV. Lets not forget about the product....COFFEE...and every variety of it. Espressos, mochas, lattes, light and dark roasts! They have it all in every flavor imaginable. Each week a different featured flavor which i have yet to dislike one! Pastries, danishes, biscotti, and bagels also available to go with your pick-me-up. All looked delicious and well displayed. Service was superior. The lighting was dim and fit my mood well and reggae music filled the place. Huge plus... I love me some Marley!!!!! Cant think of a better way to get those eyeballs open in the AM!!! Favorite place to stop for a coffee and snack! Always friendly and very delicious. Much more of a small town feel compared to Starbucks.

I've been here twice now, and I have to say I'm in love with the place. The space is huge, airy, and with plenty of seating and clean restrooms. The staff is friendly and the atmosphere is near perfect. The coffee is delicious too -- I've had the chocolate covered banana iced coffee and the cinnamon toast crunch coffee (also bought the Almond Joy roast for home, let's say I like flavored coffee) and all of them have been fun takes on my favorite brew without all the extra stuff on top. read more

My friend and I stopped today for drinks. We went through the drive thru, which was super convenient. We were greeted by a VERY nice man who took our order. A couple minutes later our drinks were ready. He apologized for the wait and said our order was on the house. We said that wasn't necessary, as we didn't feel the wait was long at all. He insisted and told us to have a good day. The drinks were delicious. The service was wonderful. Great place!!!! read more

I love this place ... it's clean and bright and the drinks are well made. The coffee is better than anywhere around here. But I have a major complaint. Every time I show up with my family (which is often), we sit in the back room. Three or four visits in a row it is sweltering in that room. If you look at the thermostat, it's set on HEAT on 70 degrees (please note this comment is being written in August). The thermometer reads 76 degrees. Which means that the air is never going to come on. I've left earlier than intended each of these times because it's so hot, which obviously means I'm spending less money. I'll be honest, I live in Westmont but have driven to Starbucks to sit and do work because of the temperature in the MG. When I ask the staff for assistance, they say their hands are tied because the owner controls those things. So this is my attempt to let the people in charge know. A little environmental adjustment would lead to a 5 star review. read more

Absolute favorite coffee shop & perfect for the Johnstown area. I live relatively close, so I am a frequent flyer. I love that there is a drive through and the staff are always so friendly. Big fan. If not for the fact that I don't pass this place too often, I'd be here every day. Had bagels, cupcakes, several different coffees, and chai here. All excellent. Also, it's a great place to sit and relax, and they have a large table (conference?) in the back room. read more
