The shop was unique and cute. Lots of choices on health bars and other items. Smaller choice on baked goods. Had most choices of milks which I appreciate. Sell their own coffee out of Pittsburgh. And other local honeys, etc. Lots of seating outside, little inside. Don't know if in inclement weather if more seating inside. I got an Americano. It was fine for most. But americanos are meant to be strong and it was of medium strength. That's usually because the ground beans themselves are not strong, but medium. Clerk was very polite and helpful and tolerated my chatting as I was only one there. I sat outside with my small dog for a short while. I'm sure most will enjoy this spot. I can't judge baked goods as I generally don't like American baked goods as they're very, extremely sugary and lack flavor they're touted to have. read more

The Silver Horse Coffee is a cute little shop! It has a unique little store area to look at while waiting for your order. The baristas were lovely and very helpful. We are from out of town and saw a cute sticker after purchasing our drinks, and they gave it to us for free, which was really nice of them :). The drinks were all really good. Love finding a good coffee shop, especially while traveling! The girls at the counter were so friendly and made a great drink recommendation. I had the maple pecan latte and it was delicious! I also ordered a pumpkin scone unfortunately, it was not as good as the coffee. It was very dry and lacking flavor. We stopped by off the turnpike to grab some coffee and a snack and it was a great choice! I had the Silver Spur ($6.50), which is a sparkling espresso, with cream and citrus. It was weirdly perfect? Very refreshing. I also snagged a local Kombucha ($6.95 seemed way pricey, but oh well) and it was perfect. They have a few breakfast burrito options($5.75), the sausage egg and cheese one was amazing! PLUS they have the best hot sauce selection. I'd definitely recommend compared to going to the gas station nearby, or some chain, but it's quality coffee, so it's not cheap. Great little hidden treasure on the main street. The store is in a 'strip' type mall tucked in between a pizza shop and another shop. Well worth the stop! They offer a huge selection of coffees and also have pastries and burritos. The staff was friendly. The burrito my daughter ordered looked wonderful, and she said it was great! I had a blueberry muffin that was extremely tasty, and my caramel coffee hit the spot! This seems to be the only 'mom and pop' type coffee shop in the area, and well worth the visit! read more

A true gem! We stopped in after getting off the turnpike for a pick me up. The spot is super inviting and features local goods. Hubs got a kombucha and I got a chocolate chip cookie. We chatted with the owner for a bit. He made note they're hoping to do kombucha on tap next year! It was so delightful that we stopped there for breakfast a couple days later heading onto the turnpike. We got the burritos, which are pressed heated. I got the BBQ pork and it had a mild sweetness to it. The plethora of hot sauces was fun to try! They had ones from Austin to Memphis to Colorado to Chicago. Even Nando's sauces were available! I found this darling coffee shop via "yelp" and had to visit!! Walking in there was at least 4 people waiting to place an order. I enjoyed browsing through the items in the bookshelf along the wall that were available for purchase - such as candles. I didn't see any prices on anything. I might have purchased if there was price but forgot about inquiring since the coffee shop was so crowded. One thing I noticed was the trash can - in an odd spot. Everyone waiting to place an order was in the way of others that got their order - tossing their trash. It became an annoyance while waiting.. because of the coffee shop is small there is nowhere else to wait. It's not a practical setup. The décor inside - very rustic/western. I ordered the silver bullet - with pumpkin spice shot. IT was good but super sweet. Definitely worth visiting this charming little coffee shop if you got the time. This place is so cute! We came here for breakfast one morning and got coffees/hot chocolate and some muffins and biscottis to enjoy. Everything was delicious! The decor is also cute--there's a ski lift in an area to sit down close to a fireplace area and tv. Outdoor seating was available as well. We loved having breakfast here! read more

Pleasantly surprised by this lovely coffee shop that's tucked into a little strip near the Donegal PA turnpike entrance! I was staying nearby in an Airbnb and decided to drive to Silver Horse to grab some strong coffee on a whim. I'm so glad I did! The coffee options are wide and varying, and the product is so good! I had a wonderful soy latte on my first visit (we went back twice) and they had everything from espresso to nitro cold brew to tea and specialty drinks. They also sell breakfast burritos, pastries, and various foodstuffs (pancake mix, ice cream sandwiches, cereal, etc.), as well as crystals and cute decorations and candles. It's a cozy space, and my friend's husband remarked that it looked like it could have been plucked right out of a town in Colorado with the decor and ambiance. The second visit resulted in a yummy iced coffee with maple - the flavors are strong and interesting, not your typical syrups or options! I was not expecting much in this tiny Pennsylvania town. But silver horse coffee pleasantly surprised me. First of all, I was thinking that this area might be a closed on Sundays type of place. So I was happy when a friend who had already tried it told me that they are open from seven every day of the week. I came in around 730 since I was in the area for a wedding. There were a few people already there. I ordered a coffee and one of their signature burritos. The coffee was good. They had all kinds of different lattes, cappuccinos, and cold brews. The burrito was just OK. It must have been frozen. The peppers were a little cold. Something that makes this place very cool however is the atmosphere. The interior is warm and inviting despite being in a strip mall. Cool artwork hangs on the walls. The barista's are friendly. You can buy things other than food there like local handcrafted candles. They had a very amazing looking Popsicles from Pittsburgh called Stickler's. Despite it being before 8 AM, I decided I had to have one of these. I got one with watermelon and kiwi. A decent little coffee shop waaaaay off the turnpike. If you are going up to 7 springs they are right on the way if you are on rt. 31. It is small, not super fast service. They have a few choices of fresh roasted coffee, and offer some snacks. The sell what look to be local made cookies and cakes, and have about 6 burritos the make on site. In a more competitive area I'd probably give them 3 stars, but this is the best you are going to find around here. read more

I was staying at a local resort a while back and I Yelped cafés in the area and decided to try them out a couple times during my stay. The first time I walked in I was very pleasantly surprised with the interior, selections and the barista. The latte I got was amazing! They also have a great selection of Kombucha and healthy bars which I purchased as well. The second time I went the workers were not as pleasant and the price for the same thing I got the previous day was $2.50 more which I never said a word about but never went back due to this. I don't care about paying $20 a day every day for lattes because I do it every day but I don't expect to pay a different price every time I come in the same place for the exact same thing. Located just east of the Donegal exit on the Pennsylvania Turnpike, Silver Horse Coffee is a touch of Durango, Colorado, right here in the Alleghenies. Walking in, I immediately felt a reality shift. Wood and stone, corrugated metal and antler wall sconces, large selection of hot sauces for breakfast burritos, and excellent KLVN Coffee (Pittsburgh roaster), that all felt much farther west than WEST-more land County. Rachel was a gracious barista, who answered my questions openly, and took the time to prepare an excellent Ethiopian pour over and to grill my breakfast burrito into a flat delicious gooey meal. It was very pleasant to start the trip back to Bucks County after this short sojourn deep in the Westies. All remnants of fatigue vanished with the strength of the caffeine from this local beanmaster. The burrito filled me enough to drive non-stop back home. PRO TIP - Careful with Dave's Ghost Pepper Sauce! I should have read the instructions that warned to only use a drop at a time due to the power unleashed by the contents of the bottle. It is a 15 on a scale of 1 to 10. And, if you get it on your hands, be sure to wash it off before leaving Silver Horse. If you don't, and you later touch a more sensitive part of your skin, you will feel the delayed burn for quite a while. Word to the wise. read more

They have a bunch of tchotchkes and exotic natural drinks, but things are a little bit on the pricier side. If you're looking for a full-fledged grill, this is not the place. The coffee was so-so. I enjoyed the potato breakfast burrito & locally brewed strawberry kombucha. My husband got a sausage breakfast burrito and a sparkling espresso. The kiddos enjoyed an array of snackery items including cereal and milk, apple sauce, hot coco bombs etc. The chairlift out front was an added bonus -- the kids (& adults) enjoyed climbing on it and indulged in a photo op. read more
