Adorable country style diner with warm and friendly service situated quaintly on the side of a creek. Similar to many other patrons, we stopped in after a chilly visit to Fallingwaters. The server was very helpful in assisting with navigating our dietary restrictions. Ambiance was country cute. Here is a rundown of the dishes we ordered. Philly Cheesesteak Hoagie - very little meat with a slice of provolone thrown on it. Country fried steak - steak and gravy were good. I ordered a baked potato which came naked and underbaked. Pancakes - Delish! Kids Mac and cheese - not worth it at over $6 without a single side or beverage included. Burger - generous portion and was enjoyed. Fries and tater tots were also yummy.

Beef barley soup, BLT on marble rye

Such a cute place! Great place to stop before or after visiting Falling Waters. Very friendly service and good food. My husband loved his burger. It really tasted fresh, and not like a frozen patty. And the fries definitely add from fresh potatoes. My BLT was delicious. I asked for it on rye, and it was a great combo. The beef barley soup was outstanding. I had it as a side (soup, salad, slaw or fries were my choices I think.) Tons of parking.

Just popped in for lunch (thank you, Yelpers!) on the way to Fallingwater. Our server was super friendly and helpful. We needed a quick lunch. She recommended the BLT (which I had) it any of the hot sandwiches (hubby opted for the Reuben). They came out super quick from the kitchen. Mine was chock full of bacon, with crisp lettuce, mayo, & tom. I enjoyed mine. Hubs' Reuben was good - the corn beef flavorful - tho he wasn't wowed by the kraut and thought the toasted bread had too much butter on it. That said - it was good! We both had coleslaw with ours (thought fries would take too long). The place is 'country cute' - signs proclaiming: "Arrive a stranger, leave a friend." Stuff like that. Country music piping out. And OH MY the desserts!! Lordie - the long list of pie and cake. Wish we had time. They looked SOOO good!

Look at that dark meat.

After a weekend of wrestling with bears after stealing my food and playing poker with some coyotes I met at Ohiopyle, I decided to restore my energy by grabbing a bite to eat at Creek Side Grill. There is nothing normal about Normalville. The atmosphere, for instance, reminded me of a truck stop that I worked at back in Intercourse, and even the plates were the same. The Buffalo Chicken Wrap was average at best, but the coleslaw kicked some tail. My party of seven was quite pleased with their choices. The server was on point, too. I will be back -- once I finally get out of debt after one of the coyotes came at me with a royal flush.

We were looking for a spot to grab a bite after visiting Fallingwater. This is an interesting little spot could be spectacular. Young people working the floor because they don't have and did a fairly good job. The food however was extremely pedestrian.

I've come to the Creek Side many times over the last several years. I can honestly say that I've never had a bad meal. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, eggs, pancakes, sandwiches, salads, desserts - everything has been tasty. Good food, large portions, reasonable prices, friendly folks. What more could you ask for from a neighborhood diner?

Buffalo chicken wrap half eaten because it was too good to wait!

A yummy meal after stopping at Fallingwaters! It was a cold day so the cup of soup was perfection. They had broccoli cheddar and beef noodle and both hit the spot. Got the buffalo chicken wrap and it was a sweater buffalo but so scrumptious. The diner was clean and comforting. You could tell everything on the menu was simple but good. And the waitress was very friendly and we had everything we needed! If you want a warm comforting diner after a hike, this is the place!

Standard food, standard prices. The staff is very friendly and the prices are reasonable. It is a pleasant along-the-route stop for sure.

Food is good. Service is fast. Its your average local place serving good food. It does get busy but never loud and crazy.

If you follow my reviews, you know I'm a fan of old-school diners, the classics, and honest home-cooked food. Summit hits all three marks, serving straightforward and delicious American standards since the 1960s. The three-egg omelet loaded with veggies and sausage was exactly the pre-ski power-up I needed. My son stuck with his go-to breakfast burrito, and my daughter went with the classic two eggs, bacon, and potatoes. Everything was spot on. The staff has just the right level of "WWA"--Waitresses With Attitude. They are perfectly polite, but they hold the line on proper behavior and will quickly put anyone in their place if they step out of line. It keeps the environment grounded and authentic. A few tips for your visit: * Seating: Expect to wait for a table in the lobby or outside during peak hours. * Payment: Bring your wallet--this is a cash-only establishment.

They staff is fast and friendly and the food doesn't disappoint. It's such a rare thing in this day and age to see an old diner so we love to go when we are visiting Somerset. We typically go for breakfast. The next time you're in the area it's definitely a must stop place to go. Give them a try and you may have to wait to be seated they also only accept cash as their only form of payment so come prepared, they do have a ATM in the waiting area.

After making…read morethe drive between Northern Virginia and Ohio for more than 20 years, we couldn't believe we had never discovered Out of the Fire Café before. Anyone who regularly travels the Pennsylvania Turnpike knows how hard it is to find a truly memorable place to eat. This one is absolutely worth the short detour. The atmosphere is charming, the view is beautiful, and the food exceeded every expectation. We had to try their famous mushroom soup, and even though I'm not normally a mushroom fan, it was hands-down one of the best cups of soup I've ever had. The smoked salmon salad was fresh, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. My husband ordered the Filet Mignon Sandwich special, and every bite was packed with incredible flavor. Our server was warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. She made us feel right at home and added to what was already a wonderful dining experience. We finished with the Bananas Foster. While it wasn't the tableside flaming presentation you'd find at a fine-dining restaurant, the flavor was outstanding and the perfect ending to a fantastic meal. We'll definitely be making Out of the Fire Café a tradition on our future trips. If you're traveling the Pennsylvania Turnpike, do yourself a favor and make the stop--you won't regret it!
