Preface: I'm not a 5 star reviewer, I wish they had 4.5 star options... Mark C's is the place! It is the quintessential dive and you will not be disappointed. We were apprehensive as we walked up, even wondering if it was open - Saturday morning. You know it's good and cheap when every 70+ yr old grandad in a 20 mile radius is there to eat breakfast. No fluff, no glitz, no BS - just good honest food and a good honest price, and in this day and age that is worth it's weight in gold! I was a little disappointed that western PA must not be Scrapple Country...when your bride is from Lancaster Co. PA you come to love Scrapple, we don't have Scrapple in WV. Loved our experience here. The restaurant has a huge menu, everything from breakfast, lunch, and dinner were all available. Service was quick, and food was delicious. Large, inexpensive portions, too! Large and open dining space, plenty of seating. Will definitely return. read more

I was in town for a family reunion and my two cousins took me here. They frequent this place about once a week. It seems like a mom and Pop operation in the back of a shopping center. The food was delicious! I had pancakes, and they were absolutely delicious. My one cousin had one of the breakfast meals with eggs and all the trimmings and she loved it. My other cousin had roast beef with mashed potatoes. The place was hopping in the service was great. It seems this is a true gem in Uniontown. read more

We are from out of town and just passing thru. Found Mark's on yelp. While it is difficult to find, it is worth the stop. Tables are clean. Service is friendly and prompt. Waitstaff seem to work together very well. Prices are very good. Breakfast was outstanding. Eggs cooked perfectly. (We ordered both over medium and poached ) The potato pancakes tasty. Rather odd restaurant - it's located at the end of an abandoned Kmart and actually has plastic "walls" separating the restaurant from the Kmart walls. No, I'm not kidding. It's very unprofessional and very weird. Anyway, we followed the "seat yourself" sign and walked over to a large table, since we were a part of 5. We were told we couldn't have that table. So, we asked if we could have two tables pushed together and we were told yes, and then the waitress walked away. So, we moved the tables ourselves. Rather unprofessional server, they were out of buckwheat (we were told it had gone bad...), server was lousy on drink refills, food was just under average at best, and the bill was $44. Husband's omelet was sad and skinny with very little filling and the bacon with most of our meals was limp (mine almost burnt) and barely cooked. Would never go back. Sad and tired decor, crappy service and overall so many better places to eat. If you are visiting Uniontown, or live there, skip this place. Tons of better options very close by. read more

This place used to be at K-Mart in Uniontown and now has moved over to a plaza in town. The food here is good but not as great as I remember. The omelette was a little bit too greasy and very thin. My big breakfast was really good though and I don't have too many complaints. My biggest complaint here is the service. I had requested some substitutes and the waitress wasn't very nice with how she replied. No one really seemed to be happy working there and the atmosphere is what makes a great cafe. It's a diner attached to K-Mart, so my expectations were not high to start with. I came here for a late breakfast with some friends. Atmosphere is dingy with crummy unframed record screwed into the wall. Service was attentive and our food came out quickly. The cheesy hash browns looked like they were mixed with easy mac powder taken from the attached K-Mart and tasted worse. Pancakes were stiff and tasted greasy. Definitely would not recommend this to friends. Stay far away unless you are curious and masochistic. read more

I Dont know what these people are talking about...but since the half remodel that they did new chairs and tables..and a new cook I think this place is pretty good burgers are not bad and there Buffalo chicken strips. is good..and some other stuff that I order is not bad since the new cook is in place..the food seems a lot better.. read more

No-one would wait on us 45 minutes later, we had to walk out, girls could not handle a party of five. They were verbal about not wanting to wait on our table. Little did they know my mom had just passed, wanted to eat at her favorite diner. But they made it a terrible ending for my family. I took my wife and four kids out for mark c because my mom said it was good. we ordered our food, but we had to walk around a maze of dirty tables, the place was worn down like no one cared. my salad came out first, I found 2 hairs in it after I pretty much ate the whole thing. they looked like pubes or animal hair. I told the server and she was like wow. In the end they really did not care and charged me extra for a steak that was horrible anyways. I should of just left but my wife was like it was prob in the ranch. Please take my advice dont ever eat there, I seen a glimpse of the kitchen and man was it dirty. I am not sure I will take my moms word for another place to eat. read more

Like someone else said, I'm only giving them 1 star because I have to. My wife and I will never eat here again. We have dined at Mark C's several times and the food has always been okay (not great, but not terrible), but the service has always been iffy. Today we stopped at their new location and it resembled a construction site. We were shuffled around to look for seating and when we finally located a table we were totally ignored. When I pointed out the less than satisfactory service, the dumb btch said "have a nice day" smh. Talk about NOT caring about or taking pride in your business. Oh well, you can chance it if you want but I wouldn't bother. We ended up going to Eat and Park and both the food and service was excellent. read more

There owner thinks is better then everyone else . The food is down right no good and the service is so bad you might just stay home an cook for yourself after eating here. Found this place while looking for something other than the IHOP or Bob Evans for breakfast. The menu has all your typical diner breakfast combos. I settled on a Philly omelet with a side of biscuit and gravy. The omelet looked delicious and was loaded with Philly steak, peppers and onions with provolone cheese, but sadly it was flavorless. I smothered it with franks red hot to salvage it. The main entrance for this diner once was from inside the adjacent K-Mart which is no longer in business, so now you enter from a single door adjacent to the parking lot that was prob once an exit. This is a choke point during post church hours. I mention the side entrance because after receiving our tab we waited about 10 minutes before realizing that our waitress wasn't coming back to take my payment. I didn't see a register when we walked in because it is in the very back of the restaurant where the K-Mart entrance once was. Everything else aside my wife said the bathroom was dated, dirty, cold and without soap. I would return to try a dinner to see if it better meets that home cooked diner expectation, but I doubt my wife would go with me. read more

I went to Mark C's diner along with two friends inside of Kmart on 10-25-2012. My friends ordered the Thursday special, lasagna. It was dry and burnt on the bottom. I told and showed the waitress, she said sorry and walked away. Nothing was done about it. We eat there once or twice a week but now we will not go back. Not taking care of the issue at the time, means they lost our patronage. read more

I'd never been to Mark C's Diner before and decided to try it. I had a hamburger, fries, and the soup on special was a concoction called hamburger/mac soup.
