Coming in you really get that back country dinner vibe. Many of the locals come in and out of this place. Convenient and right off the highway. In terms of food, I love the coconut cream pie, creamy and layered. For the main dish, I wasn't a big fan of the stuffing. But otherwise the service was quick and efficient.

The food was excellent, the service was very good. A nice homey feel here. They have the capacity for large crowds.

Good, homestyle comfort food in the Laurel Highlands of PA, only a couple of miles off the PA Turnpike. Pros: This no frills, affordable restaurant surprised me with great home cooked meals like country-fried steak, meatloaf, hot roast beef sandwiches, etc. The two-page menu is a nice touch, limiting your choices to dishes they excel at making. Fresh-cut French fries and gravy were great! Cons: if you are looking for trendy food, this place ain't for you. Their Philly cheesesteak was just ok. Summary: if you are into great comfort food, huge desserts, and not worried about your weight for a day, I recommend Brady's. Pro Tip: make sure you get their dinner rolls.

Lovely cabin like setting on the mountain with excellent staff and food. Very good pricing. Nothing fancy but a very very good experience. Right off of the PA Turnpike and worth the exit and short drive!

The meal was great. Hubby had the daily special - stuffed pork chop, mashed potatoes and corn. I had the chicken bacon ranch wrap with homemade chips. Neither of us could quit eating the chips. The coconut cream pie was amazing.

The food was really good...but...our server, Jeremy, was THE BEST! Worth the trip...just to see Jeremy...and ask for him if/when you stop by!!

We stopped here as we were driving home from Ohio to Philly Suburbs because of the billboard on the side of the road. The place is decorated like a cabin- definitely woodsy/country but cute - that rustic charm. They have a pretty extensive menu of all different types of food and they also have a salad bar! I ordered the smoked turkey panini which was so flavorful! It tasted extremely fresh, the turkey and all the toppings! It came with one side or salad bar for an additional $1.99. I opted for the cole slaw which was really tasty! Our waitress was extremely nice and in fact everyone working here was very nice! The place was a little empty when we got in but by the time we left it was packed! It's a good hit if you're in town or happen to be driving by! The food is fresh and good home cooking !

The Acme Scramble. Big tasty and satisfying!

A friend and I golfed in Somerset and in returning back to the Pittsburgh area were looking for something to eat. I suggested HillBilly's as I stated previously, has been something I wanted to try. It has a fun vibe with ceramic characters and animals throughout. The entrance included a gift shop with fun Hillbilly merch, the bottom floor that was more of a standard dining area, the second floor includes a bar and a decent stage area, as well as a decent deck/outside patio area. When we visited karaoke was going on. We ordered drinks and as for food, my friend ordered the pot roast, which he really liked. I got the meatloaf sandwich, which I liked as well. It was meatloaf smothered with pimento between two slices of Texas toast Service was fine. They were busy and it was loud, but we were well taken care of.

Salad...not very good and again...the dressings looked like they had been reused for several days. And hey...guess what...your customers don't want Texas Toast for every item that they order...you don't get offered an alternative. I got the club sandwich, and it was a single level sandwich served on Texas Toast. If I want a greasy bread sandwich, I'll ask for it. Don't get me wrong...I like Texas Toast, but this was waaaaay overdone. Overall, it was barely okay. Service was decent...the couple sitting next to us...hey...cover your mouths when you are sneezing loud enough to shake our table...and when your child drops its food on the floor...no...it is not okay to pick it up and put it back on its plate...or maybe I'm wrong...you may have been working on boosting lil Bubba's immune system... Meemaw (the hostess) was pleasant enough.

Anyone who regularly travels the Pennsylvania Turnpike knows how hard it is to find a truly memorable place to eat. This one is absolutely worth the short detour. The atmosphere is charming, the view is beautiful, and the food exceeded every expectation. We had to try their famous mushroom soup, and even though I'm not normally a mushroom fan, it was hands-down one of the best cups of soup I've ever had. The smoked salmon salad was fresh, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. My husband ordered the Filet Mignon Sandwich special, and every bite was packed with incredible flavor. Our server was warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. She made us feel right at home and added to what was already a wonderful dining experience. We finished with the Bananas Foster. While it wasn't the tableside flaming presentation you'd find at a fine-dining restaurant, the flavor was outstanding and the perfect ending to a fantastic meal. We'll definitely be making Out of the Fire Café a tradition on our future trips. If you're traveling the Pennsylvania Turnpike, do yourself a favor and make the stop--you won't regret it!

However, since I was touring a few Frank Lloyd Wright houses, I had not eaten since my early morning continental breakfast at the Comfort Inn in Connellsville. Mindlessly following the Google Maps directions, I arrived in a town called Indian Head and didn't have any expectations about what I'd find in this family-friendly roadside diner. Without hesitation, I ordered the $13.99 Grilled Chicken Salad. I was quite impressed with what arrived. There were huge pieces of grilled chicken breast, tender and moist, with cucumber, lettuce, cherry tomatoes, onions, beets, shredded cheddar, and a pickled egg with ranch dressing on the side (Photo 9). Sounds basic, I know, but it was hearty, fresh, and genuinely satisfying. Midway through my salad, a plate of fries arrived (Photo 10). I wasn't expecting it, but the server apologized for the delay. I only noticed later that the fries were mentioned in the menu. I certainly didn't mind because they were hot, tasty, and not at all greasy. Even though I was getting full and kinda anxious to get going, I was rather hypnotized by the refrigerator of freshly made pies. I just couldn't help myself and ordered a $4.29 slice of Banana Meringue Pie (Photo 8). I don't think I've had homemade pie that good since gorging at Valois back in my olden grad school days in the South Side of Chicago. What a nice surprise to have such a delicious square meal in a place called Indian Head.
