We had the best server ever - Gary! He made sure our glasses were full. We attended the Iconic Cocktails bar takeover and had a blast. They have the fans on outdoors but they were blowing a little too strong. We had chips and salsa which came with guacamole as well. The serving was pretty big and I was able to share with my table of 5. Drinks are pricey ($12) but it's the views for me. Parking can be found on Tyndall Ave or you can do valet parking as well. Highly recommend getting a room at the graduate, they're super cute and full of photo ops! read more

I've been to the Moonstone several times; it is a good place to take out of town guests because of the vibe and view. During the Christmas holidays, I took my guests there. One initial problem that continues on is that there isn't really an organized way to sign up for an outside seating area. You have to tell a waitstaff person and then YOU have to keep an eye out that when someone leaves, someone else doesn't just try and sit down at the seating you have waited for. I've always felt that Moonstone does charge a lot for cocktails but again, you are paying for a fun place to be. However, when I went to pay, the waitress told me the total - I was not given a bill - which I thought was high but one person ordered a snack and I think two people had two drinks. The waitress hands me her device to sign and it first showed the tip area but with low percentages like 7%. It was not until AFTER I got the paper bill that I realized that I had been charged 20% because there were six of us. First, it's a bar, not a restaurant so, to me, that's out of line. Second, it doesn't say that on the menu (I checked) and the waitstaff said nothing. Moonstone has an obligation to tell people with larger parties that bit of information. No wonder the bill seemed large AND I had added on to that. I did call and was given the Moonstone manager's voicemail. He called me back - hours later - and I couldn't take the call. He left a message. So I again called but, this time, I got the general Moonstone voicemail. I left a message and no one called me back. So consider this a public service that I'm doing so that people out there will not be surprised and disappointed as I am. I would certainly think twice before I went there again. read more

The Moonstone rooftop bar has commanding views of downtown Tucson and the surrounding mountains, and it's a beautiful way to watch sunset from a distinct vantage. Service was a little dull, for a weeknight, and it would be great to hear a live musician or more modern tunes up there, but it's hard to beat the setting for sipping happy-hour drinks and watching the sun turn the Catalinas to brilliant gold. read more

My boyfriend and I went to The Moonstone for the on the 4th of July. We were nervous because it was a busy holiday. We were able to find a spot at the bar and was immediately served. The servers were not only efficient but they were so kind! The drinks we ordered were amazing and well made. We ended up ordering food and the number one thing I would recommend is the Elotes cheese bread! Second time back. Was here the first night of the grand opening and it's still so beautiful. It was windy so the sections outside were closed. There are sections outside with fire pits. As well as high tops. All sections give a beautiful panoramic view of the beautiful Tucson. The staff was nice! The security was tight and wanted to make sure it is a safe time. The rules are clear. 21+, no vaping/smoking, masks when walking around, no mask when seated, & no groups over 6/8 The adult Capri sun was delicious. They have a wine and beer selection. They have a very limited food menu, as well as a few specialty drinks. 3-4 fire pit areas, as well as several individual tables along the perimeter outside that all have the great view. Here lies a new, hip, and fresh face to show up for Tucson!! Now, if only they met their own potential! Moonstone offers a unique experience that is rare in Tucson.. dining & drinks with a chill/hip atmosphere, and, not to mention, a view overlooking the heart of town like no other.. One would think, wow, now that we have this, why go anywhere else?!? Well, the unfortunate part, is that, when it comes down to it, menus are lacking a bit. . . . The options are somewhat interesting, but, places like Sidecar, and even a rebuilt-turned-into Jackrabbit Lounge, offer more, let alone more interesting options for cocktails.., and the food pairings too, are unfortunately underwhelming, limited, and expensive, as are the drinks.. What I wish for, for a place as beautiful as this, that has so much to offer, is to actually offer more. I could totally see the potential here, and see this place take off and keep people coming back, with a little extra love... perhaps involvement in curating a more unique menu maybe w/ a local in-house chef who could add real innovative/creativity and flare ?.. even the hotel has such creativity!! And with a city like Tucson, that has lots to offer with food and food culture, one would think it's not too difficult to be inspired of what we have to offer here in the southwest!!! For me, there are options that offer more elsewhere in town, and it will undoubtedly be something that others could too get tired of, it the menu is too simple and doesn't switch up with new options from time to time at the minimum.. something that embodies a menu as unique as the unique views & atmosphere, would really set this place up well for owners and locals alike, and give neighboring spots a run for their money! Beautiful view! Nice rooftop bar for Tucson. We went to watch the sunset. I wish they had more on the menu food wise, but the drinks are good. I had the adult carpisun and it was delicious! I took my niece (they allow kids before 10pm). She had a Shirley Temple. The waitresses were very nice. They have indoor and outdoor seating. We were able to grab a couch outside. We also had the birria nachos and a quesadilla. The quesadilla was good. I wasn't impressed with the birria nachos. The toppings were not too warm when they got to us. I've been here twice. Views are amazing. Food is good. Unfortunately they got rid of their hummus dish. It would be great if they would expand the menu beyond Mexican food since every place in Tucson serves Mexican and the hummus was a nice alternative. This place has a breathtaking view. Located in the graduate hotel this spot can't be more beautiful. The bar is on the roof top next to the pool. It has plenty of seating , outdoor patio and 2 swingy chairs to snuggle and drink. Their micheladas were amazing! They offered several other types of drinks as well and reasonably priced. Went to the Moonstone visiting the Tucson AZ area for work and wanted to chill at a pretty rooftop bar that also had food. The security guard was kind of weird and that's why I'm giving this place 4/5 stars. However on the upside the service was good. The ambiance was really nice, and had breathtaking views of Tucson and it was a perfect night to have drinks and dinner by the fire. I ordered the Cobb salad which is probably one of the bear Cobb salads I've had and the portion was huge. My friend had the chicken caprese, which was flavorful. Price point for food was moderately priced. The wine selection wasn't the best and they sold a glass of La Marcca Prosecco for $12 which if you're a wine person you'd know that this was way overpriced, especially coming from CA, and also being a wine connoisseur. My friend and I lyfted here so not sure about the parking situation. Overall, great experience minus the security guard and wine selection! read more

I've been here several times and it's a cool environment. The views are amazing, the staff is attentive, and the drinks are good, but pricey. The food is OK. In croweded Mexican food market the chips & salsa and nachos were alright. The staff is friendly and very capable. They have a limited inventory with the small amount of space they cannot carry a lot of inventory. I ordered a Hendrix gin and club soda with a cucumber. The drinks were good, but a bit pricey and the Same is true for the food. We all had burgers and they were good but not great. The chips that came on the side were the best thing about it. The food and drink menus had limited options but they do seem to have a full bar so you can order off menu items. In the heat of summer after schools already started and in off peak season: Every single outdoor view table is taken at almost 1030 when I've come here by myself to eat to enjoy the view of Tucson as ive never been and am traveling solo for a cross country move. They need to re-organize their space so that they can accommodate more single people because it's incredibly singles unfriendly right now. Plus I'm handicapped so I had to walk a couple blocks there in pain just to find out that I couldn't find any place to sit with a view on a Tuesday night near food order cutoff time simply because they've used the entire outdoor rooftop space for about 6-8 giant dining tables. What a great hidden gem! Best rooftop in Tucson. Great views of Tucson especially the U of A Campus. The hotel and bar are decorated beautifully with a cool southwestern flair. Our server was fantastic, helpful and sweet. We tried the Cheesy Elote Bread, which was REALLY good and had a couple cocktails.
