Located on the rooftop of Graduate Hotel, The Moonstone offers casual Mexican dining, fun cocktails, and stunning rooftop views. What I love: Ideally, you should go around sunset, where you can get a glimpse of everything from the bustling downtown core to the Catalinas and Oro Valley. There aren't many restaurants in town where you can get this sort of bird's eye view! What I like: The food is pretty good! I got the nachos and was pleasantly surprised by the house-made cheese sauce and the tender, flavorful birria What needs work: The cocktails are pretty, like the Moonstone with its pea flower coloring and edible glitter. But I have my reservations about the booze going into them. I do not want to pay fancy cocktail bar prices when the liquor used is Bacardi, Jack, Bombay, and other mid-shelf stuff you can pick up from your local Fry's. Nevertheless, this is such a well-designed little lounge with impeccable atomosphere and top-tier service. You can have fun and impress your friends here, so it's worth coming back.
This is probably my favorite place in Tucson and I try to come every time I'm in town. I've only ever had the chips & salsa bc I'm normally working and there for a drink but the chips are always fresh and the salsa is always great. Plus the drinks are spot on each time and the service has always been quick and reliable. The view is also incredible!
5 stars for the service and the drink! Bar and inside is cool. Taylor was a great bar tender. Ordered the Tugatini and was not disappointed. I typically don't like citrus forward drinks but this had a nice balance to it and it really did taste like a key lime pie dessert. Outside is cool too but the glass needs to be cleaned. It's quite dirty/smugger which takes away from it being an awesome rooftop when you're siting down and all you see is a dirty sheet of glass. Would definitely come back here if I'm staying at the graduate!
Had dinner with friends her on a Saturday evening. Service was great. Outdoor seating overlooking the campus was really cool! Drinks weee great. Food was ok but nothing to write home about.

The moonstone was wonderful and delicious. We both got the Beria nachos and they were great. We also got the tres leches for dessert. For the portion size the nachos were big enough that I couldn't finish them, but my husband was able to finish his plate. There are only a few options on the menu. It is mostly drinks which we did not get. The service was super speedy and fast. They were super kind and friendly and on top of that it was the cutest little restaurant you've ever seen I love the skyline view so pretty definitely recommend I will be going back.

It was definitely a scenic spot. It's located atop the Graduate Hotel in downtown Tucson. Moonstone has a gorgeous view of the city. It's a perfect spot to catch the sunset with a cocktail in hand! The ambiance is beautiful at night still because the restaurant has cozy lounge areas and fire pits that help keep you warm. We arrived around 6:30pm and the sun was already completely gone so I do recommend you come around 3-4 to make sure you watch the sunset. The drinks, however, are fantastic, and I'd highly recommend visiting for a drink rather than a full meal. The customer service was exceptional; we were seated right away, and the space was beautiful and clean. Parking can be a bit tricky, with street parking a little further away. Once inside the hotel, simply take a right to the elevator, press "RT," and it will take you straight up to the rooftop. With two TVs to catch the game and a laid-back atmosphere, Moonstone is a great spot for drinks and casual lounging. It's also ideal for hanging out with friends or enjoying a relaxed evening in Tucson.
Great spot in town to grab a drink and app! The Moonstone has the best view of the sunset and lots of great seating. My go-to before stoping by the bars on University blvd or for a catch-up with my friends.
Pretty cool for a hotel bar ... combined with a rooftop pool I mean ... for Tucson this is great.
Such a great bar/grill on top of the Graduate Hotel. A simple, but nice menu. Great views. Indoor/outdoor seating. TV's for big games. Taylor was our bartender. She is super friendly and attentive. A really nice space.

The Moonstone is located on the rooftop of The Graduate Hotel. The main reason to visit this bar is for the amazing views and mountain scenery! This is an excellent spot for after work cocktails or pre-dinner drinks. As soon as we walked in we were seated and our drinks came out right away. Cocktail prices range from $14-$17 each, so they are a bit on the higher side compared to other bars in town. I enjoyed the Hibiscus Mezcalita, which had a smoky flavor. I also tried the Cactus Water, but did not enjoy that drink as much. They have tons of different seating arrangements from equipale chairs, couches, hanging swing chairs, a bar area, and a really nice outdoor area with fire-pit tables. They do have a limited selection of food items, however I did not try any this visit. A couple of disclaimers to note, the tables were not super clean during my visit. They also did not provide drink coasters or napkins. Lastly, parking can be a little tricky and often requires meter parking nearby. Again, the views still make this a place to visit.
Stayed at the Graduate and was recommended to go up to the rooftop, bar and restaurant, the Moonstone, and enjoy the views and a drink. The service is great, and the crowd was mostly college kids. It was very warm tonight so we stayed inside, but there were some groups sitting outside and enjoying their cocktails. read more

I had only been here for some yoga classes and finally got to really enjoy this place! First of all, you can't beat the view! You pretty much have 360 (almost) view of Tucson and who wouldn't like to watch the sunset from here!!??! Service was excellent. Our server was very attentive and super friendly. They have amazing drinks!! I would love to try all of their special cocktails one day! I tried their Gila Monster cocktail and it was so refreshing!! Food is pretty good as well! read more
Rooftop bar in Downtown Tucson? Yes sir! Really chill vibe...especially for a Saturday afternoon with all the students getting on campus to start the year. Great food. Had the shrimp ceviche and street tacos. Great seating inside at the bar or cool seating out on the deck that we couldn't enjoy today but if we come back down in the fall with definitely do sitting on the deck. read more

My first time here. The scene from the rooftop is really nice. Beautiful to see all the mountains and all the valley below them. Really nice. The cocktail we got, the Bluebell, was very good and well presented. The Cabernet wine was very good as well. As far as value,,,a bit overpriced. Now for the food: hmmmm. Not so good. We ordered shrimp ceviche salsa. It came with over salted tortilla chips and it literally tasted like salsa with a minimal amount of shrimp. The shrimp tasted old as well. The nachos, we ordered with chicken, tasted like chicken from a can. The toppings were minimal along with, again, over salted tortilla chips. Not appetizing. The cost, definitely not worth it. I'd say the only real thing going here is friendly service, though a bit slow, and the view. read more
Loved this place. This restaurant is inside a hotel called the graduate downtown Tucson. We went to the rooftop bar and it has the best view ever got there at sunset so it was perfect. Our waitress was the best the entire staff actually were extremely nice and the food well this stole the show the birria tacos were amazing. And they loaded them with birria the wings were good too but the nachos stole the show. We had a few drinks and too notch too their old fashioned was smooth definitely a place to celebrate something or someone. read more

Such a beautiful rooftop place. Very esthetic and clean. The service was great, staff was friendly and nice. I did not order drinks but their presentation looked beautiful. The "elote cheesy bread" it's delicious. I have never tried elote like this on bread. Great appetizer. We also tried the "shrimp ceviche salsa" it's was okay I felt like it needed a sauce on the side or something. The "Sonoran chicken club wrap" was delicious, had a lot of chicken and everything tasted fresh. The chipotle mayo sauce was delicious. I wasn't a big fan of the "house chips" but over all the food was good and it has the most beautiful view. read more

The Moonstone has the best view in Tucson, hands down, along with an overall great vibe. I usually make it here for happy hour a few times a year, with my most recent for a fun collaboration with This is Tucson. We had the sandia fresca punch, which was fruity and refreshing- perfect on a hot summer evening. We also had the Moonstone nachos and elote cheesy bread, both of which were very tasty. The happy hour pricing was nice and we even got to do a little shopping after we ate, with a pair of local makers on site for the event. Our server was friendly and our food and drinks arrived quickly, even though it was quite busy. I highly recommend Moonstone for out of town guests, date night or just an evening with friends, read more

Met a friend here for a pre theatre dinner.. good first impression. View at the top is nice.. a little windy but hey it's high . Service was good, they were busy but we managed to get out on time to make our show. Would go back for more views of the city. All the food pictured was good and my not pictured drink was too. read more

I found this place on TikTok and could not wait to do a date night here! Hubby and I went and it was a bit windy outside, but that didn't stop us! The views are amazing! The food was amazing and the staff was fabulous! We had Summer as our waitress. So very attentive and polite! There are couch tables around fire pits which is nice. For summer time they have fans with misters all over outside on the patio. There is no reservations--first come first serve. If you are looking for something a bit different than the norm, I would recommend this place. Pricing was not horrible--about $50 for two of us. read more

Gorgeous view on the rooftop of The Graduate Tucson Hotel. I did not try the food here, only the drinks. Our server was cordial and accommodating with us wanting to split all of our checks. +I got the Tay Tay's Lavender Drop, which was a little strong on the lavender but it was delicious regardless. If you like lavender flavored drinks, this is a must-get. They do not skimp on their alcohol in their contents-- all of our drinks were super strong. $14 +Arizona Jell-O Shots: We asked our server what made them 'Arizona' jello shots since it was our first time there, but there is no particular reason! They're just sour watermelon jello shots-they were pretty good and also super strong. Unfortunately, the fire pits were full with a waitlist of over an hour, so we sat inside on the couches, but it was still nice. I will say there were multiple security guards at the door, which kind of gave an odd first impression, but other than that I liked the ambiance- classy and not a college vibe. Everyone wore their masks while walking around as far as I could see. I would definitely come back if I'm in the area. read more

*This review is for a visit on 10/8/22* We came here for a date night and it was absolutely worth it! It was our first time here so we asked the concierge at the hotel how we get to this restaurant to which they pointed us to the elevators and told us which floor to get off of. When you first arrive, there is a host stand and also a security guard. They asked us if we want indoor or outdoor seating and of course we wanted outdoor to take in the beautiful view. Although indoor was absolutely beautifully decorated, as well. When we arrived, it was still pretty early in the night and there was a big UofA football going on so it wasn't very crowded. We chose to sit next to the glass because we could see more of the view and it was well worth it. Our server was very sweet and took great care of us. Listen, the food menu is certainly so look at it in advance to be sure that you see something you like. We ordered the street corn and queso dip & the southwest chicken panini. The corn and queso dip was sublime. It came out piping hot and was very creamy. The panini was okay, a bit on the drier side of paninis I have eaten but overall not too bad. The drinks were very yummy. My first drink of was the 'Hooray's Hooch' and as to be expected, it was sweet and tasted like juice. Somehow I smacked my drink before I even took a sip and it broke everywhere (which hadn't happened to be before this incident) so I told our server and asked for another one and she was so sweet because she said she would ask her manager if it would be ok to replace it without charging for a second one. I felt so bad for doing that but the fact that they replaced it free of charge was very generous. I then tried the 'In a Honkey Tonk, Down in Mexico' which was so damn delicious. Ultimately, it's a spicy margarita with subtle spiciness. The atmosphere is very nice and the ambience is cute. I will say to take a light jacket or sweater because it is a rooftop bar so there is a bit of wind up there. They do have 3 big firepits that have a waitlist but we did manage to sneak our way in one of them. There was a party of 2 and I was freezing (forgot to take a jacket) so we asked them if we could sit on the opposite end of them to warm up a bit. They left and then the server came to ask if a party of 5 could join on the other side to which we said it's fine. Keep in mind the fire pit areas are very big and have seating on 3 sides. The view was breathtaking. If nothing else, I would say go for the view alone. This is the highest rooftop bar in Tucson so remember to take something warm to wear and just enjoy your time there. read more
I came here on Mother's Day and the tables were maybe 1/3-1/2 full. The pool looked fun! Hooray's Hooch was really good with Hendricks. We all loved the "Capri Sun" drink that came in a pouch. In a Honky Tonk, Down in Mexico was really bitter. No-one liked it. Both the Chicken Quesadilla and the Chips w/ Salsa/Guac were really good. read more
This place is gorgeous. Top floor of the Graduate with a indoor and outdoor sitting and a great view of the university. They do have a small menu and lots of custom cocktails. All good. We were there on a cool weekday night and they weren't busy but have been told weekends are tough to get in. read more

We had the elote toast and nachos, which were both good! Strange that the nachos didn't come with salsa and that they actually charge $3 for a side of it. The drinks from their happy hour menu were incredible. The service was a bit slow, but everyone was super friendly which made up for it. I'm excited to go back especially for the ambiance and view. read more
