I liked it. I was the only one there at the time I stopped in and the wait person was very attentive and welcoming... I no sooner finished my last swallow of beer and he was there offering me a refill and when he brought the refill he was attentive enough to wipe up where the previous beer had sat on the table... very nice, eh? And check this out they had cloth napkins even, nice touch... ;) Their food: I had a burger with tots, the burger I thought was a bit dry but good flavor and the tots were cooked just right. The place was very clean, swept up and happy. The background music was a mix of Marty Robbins, Tennessee Ernie Ford and others from that era. Bathroom was nice and clean and well stocked. There was a gal there, maybe the owner or something, she saw the "Vietnam Vet" patch I was wearing and bought me a beer and thanked me for my service... Very sweet of her I thought. Thanks for a great lunch, folks, I will be back!

The Skybar is located on the 5th floor of the building along with the Hotel lobby... uh okay. The staff are all very pleasant and accommodating. We went to the SkyBar and found it to be a smallish yet convenient place to wait for guests or visitors along with getting a drink or a bite to eat. The bar looks like it can accommodate about 30 people in the interior. There is a nice outdoor patio that can easily accommodate more when the weather is nice. The barkeeper was very attentive and observant, he took our food and drink requests at the bar and in short order, everything was presented. I had a Moscow Mule that I found to be a refreshing drink. Ginger beer, lime and vodka. An excellent combination. I also had an order of the chicken wings and fries. The fries were a normal shoestring variety, cooked well, nicely salted and came in a metal bowl. The wings I found to be outstanding! I don't usually get wings this well made unless I do it myself. I received 8 wings coated with barbecue sauce on a charcuterie board with the fries. The wings were served nicely hot. The meat was piping hot, juicy and tender. The barbecue coating was a hearty middle of the road sauce, not sweet or too smoky. It was caramelized perfectly for that sticky texture and flavor. Definitely a nice coating. Thankfully the bartender brought us a lot of napkins. The wings and fries made for a satisfying meal. The bar boasts a couple of gas fireplaces that make for a warming environment with a few semi private tables. There is a longer table for a larger group as well as several smaller tables and a few bar stools for game watching. All in all we found the bar to be a cozy semi-private environment, yet available to the guests as they come and go. All around, a nice meeting area and watering hole. We will book our family members for a stay here at the hotel. I'm looking forward to trying more of their specialty drinks.

SkyBar didn't necessarily WOW me but was still a chill place to come for a drink, maybe to start the night. I'll have to come back to check out the patio/food and maybe that will up the experience a little.

Next was the pancakes, eggs and bacon & French toast, eggs and bacon. The eggs were a little too wet for our liking but not bad. Bacon was perfectly crispy. French toast and pancakes were good - they had a cinnamon esque taste. Bloody Mary's were amazing! Pickled asparagus & beans in it. Yes! Also they had a sour beer from Backside Brewing that was awesome. The service was great - very attentive and always checking in. Honestly not sure why the reviews are so low - we had a great time here and it exceeded our expectations.

Fortunately, they were open and the lady in the front was very nice. A bit of advice for the English song selection is to always "reset" the selection process by going to "song list". From there the alpha keypad will appear, but don't leave it on default, which is "first word". Change it to "ABC". Doing so will open up WAY more artists, even if you know the bands name. For example, If you were on "first word" and you were looking for Journey songs, they wouldn't show up, but via "ABC" you can select the actual artists. Anyway, had a blast. Ended up with some sake and about 3 hours of fun. Definitely will be back next time we are in town.

With that said, it was very challenging to find modern songs as there were numerous songs that were not in English and some of the English songs were actually in a totally different style than what we are used to hearing here in the US. So if you are expecting karaoke like you would have in the local bar this is not the place. The karaoke rooms are large with plenty of couches and seating, there's a big screen that displays videos and the words, you're given two microphones and there's some fun lighting that happens. During our time there the air conditioner was not working in our room so it became really hot, but they moved us to another room which was really nice. We were there during karaoke happy hour which was $15 per person per hour so it does add up pretty quickly. Also, we were there on a Friday evening and we were the only ones there, when I asked the attendant at the front desk if this is normal, she said they're not very busy on the weekends but during the week they're very busy with the Asian population. They do sell alcohol, but it's a very limited menu, they did offer a magnum of Cook's champagne at $38 a bottle, which was steep, but what made it not worth it was the fact that it was room temperature. I don't think this is an establishment I will visit again, but I do wish them well as they put a lot of thought and money into their karaoke establishment.
