Such a lovely studio!! I came for a level one pole and dance class taught by the owner Rodney. The studio itself is decorated with love and is very clean. Rodney is an amazing teacher. He is a passionate, veteran instructor who will also keep you safe. I enjoyed his cues such as smiling, or reminders to slow down and really feel engagement of my body to do certain tricks. I hope to go again! Maybe even check out the aerial yoga class. :) I have been recommending his studio specifically to my friends who are into burlesque, but I also know he'd make any novice feel both comfortable and rewarded with just the right amount of challenge. :) read more

Had a great experience as a newbie to aerial yoga/meditation here! Rodney was so helpful in his gentle approach that I felt at ease after the first few minutes of introductions. He gave clear verbal guidance and provided helpful adjustments that didn't feel intrusive. As an over-thinker, I hoped I was doing the right movements, but Rodney made sure we shifted our focus to feeling centered instead. It was a wonderful session, I'm thankful to have found this special place where we can find peace and healing through our bodies. Thank you, Rodney!! read more

I've taken a couple of different classes here and I love it. Sometimes it's the hardest workout I've had in years and sometimes it's the perfect smooth, calm, quiet elongation of every fiber of my being-- Rodney just senses what I need. I love the silks and look forward to getting better on them, and I'm amused by how encouraging Rodney is about learning pole dancing. It's a great place-- come try it out! read more

Best thing I could done for myself was take this class!!! Instructor made me feel comfortable and confident on trying something new. Only wish I lived closer to come more often! read more

4 stars for the Yoga but extra star for the stellar instructor I signed up for a class with Rodney on Thanksgiving (thanks for being open!) and my brother and I ended up being the only ones in the class, haha! So really it was like a one-on-one class It was me and my brother's first time and I really enjoyed it! Rodney is patient, unique, and all around- fun good personality. He is very in-tune with yoga which made my experience very wholesome. I was pretty afraid of not knowing what to expect but felt like I was in good hands, thanks to Rodney. He was also so sweet to help my brother and me take a couple photos! Please note- you will be stretching a lot so be sure to wear appropriate clothing lol I will remember this for my next time Sign for studio is a wee tiny so be on the lookout, parking is also a tad limited too Can't wait to be back, and bring all of my friends here to try! read more

My friends and I decided to take the Aerial beginners class as an activity to challenge ourselves and bring peace and healing into our lives -- and it did exactly that! Rodney was an exceptional instructor: very hands-on, patient, and motivating. I give this class a solid five out of five stars because I learned things about my body that I didn't even know were possible. I definitely plan on taking more classes in the future! read more

I had the best time at this aerial studio! As soon as I walked in, the instructor greeted me with a compliment and made me feel so welcomed. He is genuinely so fun, sweet, and encouraging. The whole class had this beautiful blend of meditation, yoga, mindfulness, and strength training. It honestly felt like a yoga class but on silks he guided us through every movement, from where to place our hips to which arm to use to pull the fabric, so I always felt supported and safe. I also loved that the class started and ended with breathwork and some meditative grounding. It was such a great workout too I left feeling challenged in the best way and really proud of myself. I was able to do way more than I expected, and the instructor's guidance made such a huge difference. On top of that, he even gave me a discount for my next class, which was so kind! The environment was super welcoming overall. I took the class with two other instructors/regulars who offered tips and encouragement, and I really appreciated how friendly everyone was. The class size was small enough that I got lots of individual attention, which made the experience even better. They offer aerial silks/hammock, pole, flexibility classes, and even burlesque and I definitely plan on coming back to try more. Such a personable, community-centered studio. I'm so glad I found this place! read more

Be prepared to be amazed..at what YOU can do. It's been a wonderful "trust fall" experience for me. Rodney leads with heart and I trust his direction. I love the challenge of trying something new (aerial, dance, etc) but I especially love how self compassion & mindfulness finds its way with the movement. You're in good hands and the community has been so lovely and welcoming! read more

I have little experience with aerial yoga at home, but the ceiling is just not high enough. I've been looking around and finally found this place! I am so happy to find an Aerial Yoga studio nearby! I thoroughly enjoyed my first aerial yoga class. My friends convinced me to join them and I was pleasantly surprised. The level of instruction was clear and coherent for a first timer like me, and I felt adequately supported as well as challenged in the class. The lighting and music were perfect- relaxing me but also somehow encouraging? Can't wait to go back again! :) read more

RODNEY is AWESOME! He is very passionate about his work and teaching! I've been looking to get into a new hobby that is with a lower commitment side - and I tried a pole class and signed up for his Lyra classes with my bf. I highly enjoy it :). I have no dance background or any flexibility, but YOLO. He creates such a welcoming environment to come in to and I do not feel out of place even IF I am learning slower than the other students. He creates such a positive environment and is someone who you would be friends with!!! Remember, comparison is the thief of joy!!! We all start somewhere and everyone may have different backgrounds. Also just as adventure time says it... the first time you do something you will suck. Anyways, I am hoping with time I can actually hash out a decent looking choreography and be more strong + flexible! I am definitely interested in continuing both Lyra + Pole. Highly recommend!!!! read more

I'm a woman in a larger body (5'4, 280 lbs) and had always told myself "When I am x weight less, then I'll try aerial yoga." Then one day I thought "The hell with it! I want to try it now and stop holding myself back." Luckily, I found Rodney and was so grateful to know he offered private lessons. The 90 minutes with Rodney doing aerial yoga ignited something in my core and my heart. I did things with my body weight that I NEVER thought I could do. As Rodney guided me through the aerial silks, he gave me the encouragement and strength to let go and allow my body to JUST BE. I felt so present and so powerful, that all the negative thoughts about me being lesser-than, ugly, too fat etc. went away. I honestly found myself at peace afterwards, my muscles a good soreness from the workout, especially my arms and core and I had to fight my tears of happiness away when Rodney showed me a picture of me doing a vertical position on the fabric. It was something I never thought I could do... but here was proof I did it! I felt so at peace and that was just from one private session. I plan to sign up for a few more private sessions, or try my hand in his classes and when I do I'll let you all know. Rodney has created something special here and I can understand why people love this place. read more

Wow! We recently took an aerial class with Rodney! My two granddaughters and myself. That day was a great day! We were introduced to Rodney and he was so kind patient and he made a safe place for us to learn this technique. I'm a bigger girl, so I was a little scared at first but Rodney made me Feel so comfortable to learn. He was also very encouraging. I was amazed at how my granddaughters were coming along during class. My youngest has adhd and has a hard time focusing and boy she was so focused . I could see them relax into the class all because the way Rodney made us feel. I highly recommend taking any of his classes . The studio was clean and airy. I felt so good during and after class . read more

This is my new favorite place to go to because of the Aerial Yoga and Meditation and Sensualicity + Hot Seat classes with Rodney. I got a good work out experience at every class. There were times when my core muscles were shaking and sore afterwards but it felt good. I can feel even the tiniest muscle in my body is working but Rodney is great and encouraging. He walks us through every step. It's a small class so everyone gets a full attention. I felt peace after the aerial conditioning and meditation. I had to learn to let go and be free of the tensions of the day. My neck and shoulder pain went away and I have more mobility now. The Sensualicity class is graceful and sexy! I love the dance choreography Rodney puts into. It's my first class and I know the more I do it, the better I get. Amelia was great tonight warming up our lower body and worked on our flexibility for the splits. Every class is unique and I can't wait to see more, do better, and feel great again! read more

Love Rodney's charismatic personality and passion for what he teaches. Very talented and skilled dancer and instructor. I highly recommend!

Rodney is AMAZING! I cannot thank him enough for creating such a beautiful and safe space for individuals in the community. Once you enter the doors to his studio, all judgement is left behind, and you get to truly tap into your body and it's capabilities. He usually lets us stay behind after class to chit chat and have little heart to hearts. He is truly such a gem, his classes have been the one thing I look forward to every day. Thank you Rodney!!! xoxoxo read more

LOVE LOVE LOVE!! My friends & I have been waiting to try out aerial yoga in agessss and the day finally came! The class was an hour long but Rodney let us stay overtime to talk to him and take pictures!! Rodney is super nice and has a great personality and made the experience great! It is a small class so he was very tentative to us and helped us every step of the way when we needed help and gave us encouragement to do flips and poses we thought we couldn't do. Hoping to come back really soon! read more

All I can say is WOW, I'm obsessed. I wanted to try an Aerial class and was intimated at first, but as soon as I walked in and tried my first class, I was sold. Rodney is an amazing soul who has so much talent and shares and teaches it so well. Just 3 classes later, I feel addicted. I feel so empowered and confident every time I leave. I have a problem with consistency, yet with these classes, I am eager to go. It feels truly like 'me time', where I can leave my phone, stress, worries, and thoughts behind. And I get to try and do things I never thought I can do. Thanks mojo technique for existing! read more

I was so excited to find out that a new Aerial studio opened in the East Bay. I've had about 5 years of experience at other cities and countries, but was looking forward to check out this studio in my hometown. I had signed up for the Aerial Yoga class for Sunday morning in July 2022 with a friend that I was introducing the hobby to. The website is a mess and the booking system didn't allow you to schedule for classes very far out. We were told to bring a yoga mat, but upon arrival, we never actually used the mats because they had carpet laid out underneath the hammocks. Never in my 5 years have I seen any studio put carpet underneath the hammocks, but I'm guessing the instructor did that due to the number of first timers in the class. The studio was clearly a warehouse and they didn't do very much to hide that fact. It felt like they did the bare minimum to get hammocks and cubbies set up, but the rest of the aesthetics was definitely still a work in progress. There's a dog that hangs around at the entrance of the studio. It didn't really bother me, but it definitely caught me by surprise. The class had a lot of first time aerialists and the instructor/owner has quite an interesting and unique personality. Unfortunately, as an experienced aerialist, I did not think the instructor did a very good job of guiding the newbies through the movements both verbally and visually. The class size we had was clearly too much to manage for him, and I saw many red flags occur during the class. 1. When we moved into inverts, I watched the instructor put students into high fall-risk positions that would have been highly discouraged at other studios. When inverting, you need to ensure that the belt is on or above the hips, and that the knees are on the outside of the poles. Some students mistook the knee position to be placed between the poles, which put them in a position where they could easily fall out of the hammock. When the instructor passed by, he did not correct the pose, but instead fortified the wrong position that they had. I watched him "teach" my friend this wrong position and as predicted, my friend fell out of the hammock. 2. After demonstrating, the instructor would go around to each individual to check and make sure they were doing the right movements. However, there were a few individuals in the class who were struggling and needed a little bit more help and care to bring them back up to speed with the class. The instructor, unfortunately, did not give them that time and care. I felt bad for them, as they did not participate for almost half the class because of the lack of attention from the instructor. Instead, the instructor would move on with the rest of the class while those individuals stood around. 3. As an experienced aerialist, I was able to keep up with the class, but it was not a challenge for me. No variations were provided to make moves easier or harder for the potential different levels in the class. When I naturally moved to harder variations while I was waiting for him to move to the next step, I got scolded for not following along with the class. I think this studio has potential, and it's probably better for aerialists that already have some form of experience in the industry. The Aerial Yoga class is more spiritual than fitness and I would rate it at a level 0-1 aerial class. Definitely don't take it if you're already experienced, because it'll be a waste of your money and you'd be bored. Aerial silk/hammock studios are hard to find in the bay and it's a sport that I love so much. I don't want to discourage anyone from trying out the sport, but this studio definitely has a lot of learning to do. I travel often and I switch between pole and aerial, so I don't see myself coming back to this studio very often. I would be interested in trying a class from the other instructor and seeing her teaching style. read more

Rodney is a phenomenal teacher -- my life has changed!! I went into a pole class with no dance background at all, feeling very vulnerable with any sort of movement. Rodney welcomed me with open arms with a very supportive, empowering, and charismatic demeanor. He has helped me find my mojo, something I never knew I had in me! He is continuously challenging me to be my best self and find my authenticity by being intentional with movement, conditioning tricks and skills, and exploring new choreo styles. I leave every class feeling refreshed, empowered, and very sexy! I have taken his flexibility, pole, and aerial classes, and I absolutely love all of them. Today I have checked in a Free trial Aerial yoga class - Mojo Techniques. Execellent coaching by Rodney James, a knowledgeable professions. The class I tried today, was 1 feet away from the floor (low level), more focus on inner-self discovery thru deep breathing, rather than continuously & frequently movements of yoga posts / physical training. If you are looking for a relaxing and slow pace of yoga stretching, this class is definitely beneficial far beyond your experiences. Worth to try! Please remember to wear long sleeves shirt and long leggings to protect your body, perhaps plus yoga socks, it smooths in changing posts by not touching the fiber rope directly on your skins, for hygiene reasons too! read more
