    Whoo- I'm floating!

4 stars for the Yoga but extra star for the stellar instructor I signed up for a class with Rodney on Thanksgiving (thanks for being open!) and my brother and I ended up being the only ones in the class, haha! So really it was like a one-on-one class It was me and my brother's first time and I really enjoyed it! Rodney is patient, unique, and all around- fun good personality. He is very in-tune with yoga which made my experience very wholesome. I was pretty afraid of not knowing what to expect but felt like I was in good hands, thanks to Rodney. He was also so sweet to help my brother and me take a couple photos! Please note- you will be stretching a lot so be sure to wear appropriate clothing lol I will remember this for my next time Sign for studio is a wee tiny so be on the lookout, parking is also a tad limited too Can't wait to be back, and bring all of my friends here to try!

My friend took me on my first yoga class

I lovvved this class I will definitely be back , the vibe is 100% there and relaxing . breathing and just taking your mind off of any distractions will help you better relax while in the ribbon ! My next class will be proficient I am excited!

    Aerial Yoga Yummy Class

Rodney was a very great instructor! His aura and energy made the class 10X better. The studio is very beautiful and unique with style. I love it! Will be back 100/10 experience for my first visit.

I'm a woman in a larger body (5'4, 280 lbs) and had always told myself "When I am x weight less, then I'll try aerial yoga." Then one day I thought "The hell with it! I want to try it now and stop holding myself back." Luckily, I found Rodney and was so grateful to know he offered private lessons. The 90 minutes with Rodney doing aerial yoga ignited something in my core and my heart. I did things with my body weight that I NEVER thought I could do. As Rodney guided me through the aerial silks, he gave me the encouragement and strength to let go and allow my body to JUST BE. I felt so present and so powerful, that all the negative thoughts about me being lesser-than, ugly, too fat etc. went away. I honestly found myself at peace afterwards, my muscles a good soreness from the workout, especially my arms and core and I had to fight my tears of happiness away when Rodney showed me a picture of me doing a vertical position on the fabric. It was something I never thought I could do... but here was proof I did it! I felt so at peace and that was just from one private session. I plan to sign up for a few more private sessions, or try my hand in his classes and when I do I'll let you all know. Rodney has created something special here and I can understand why people love this place.

LOVE LOVE LOVE!! My friends & I have been waiting to try out aerial yoga in agessss and the day finally came! The class was an hour long but Rodney let us stay overtime to talk to him and take pictures!! Rodney is super nice and has a great personality and made the experience great! It is a small class so he was very tentative to us and helped us every step of the way when we needed help and gave us encouragement to do flips and poses we thought we couldn't do. Hoping to come back really soon!

They offer both Pole and Aerial classes, each with their own vibe and energy. Pole classes are held in Suite N and tend to have a bolder, more expressive atmosphere. Aerial classes are in Suite O and are usually calmer and more focused on flow and form. Make sure you head to the correct suite depending on your class. When you arrive, just check in with the instructor, or follow the lead of others in the room. Some instructors like to check everyone in personally, while others are more casual about it. It's a no-shoes kind of space. For Aerial, you're usually barefoot or in socks. For Pole, you're either barefoot or in heels depending on the class. I've taken a variety of classes over the years, but these days I'm more focused on Aerial. I especially want to shout out KC, who is my favorite instructor. She's clear, encouraging, and just a great teacher overall. Her classes are the perfect mix of supportive and challenging, and I always leave feeling stronger and more confident. I've been a student since the studio was called Poletential, back when it was under different ownership. It's been great to see the space evolve while still staying a welcoming and empowering place to train.

We were both complete beginners to trapeze so it was going to be an experience to start. I think overall it was very interesting and the other people who were in the class were definitely expert level including our instructor who was absolutely phenomenal in perfecting his craft. I think there were a few drawbacks that would prevent us from coming back here which include: 1) The instructor got quite frustrated/visibly upset at us when I fell after trying to balance myself. It was a bit odd because as beginners, we're there to learn, make mistakes and build confidence especially in an environment completely new for the both of us. We felt like it was unprofessional side and both def felt discouraged even though we laughed it off in person. We are both grew up in the dance community, so we know how toxic it can be to have teachers like this who react out of frustration vs support but we're not children anymore who are actively trying to hurt ourselves. I think it's entirely possible for this place to enforce safety without snapping at or shaming students. 2) This place COVID vaxx checks still. My friend and I have no issue with showing this as we're we've both got this done plus boosters since the start of the pandemic. It's a business' respective choice to ask for this 100% but it did feel a little outdated given it's the Summer of 2025 and we both haven't had to show proof of this in over 3 years. I'm still glad we tried this together and though we will likely never come back, I hope future classes foster a more positive and welcoming tone, especially for first-timers!

I've attended classes with Ly, Yisha, Jane, Yoko, Jo, Katya, and some other guest and sub instructors. There are a variety of classes offered for a fair price point. Each instructor has their own teaching style, but they all focus on student success and encouragement. I originally started pole dancing as a way to honor myself and my body, and with the help of the instructors, I've gained a level of self confidence that I never had. If I ever need to cancel class, Ly always checks to make sure I'm okay and asks if I need anything. Even though she has a lot of students, she's very caring and mindful of each individual. The classes are structured with a warm up, the instruction and practice, time to record/practice independently, and a cool down. The instructors provide hands on spotting throughout class and will walk you through any move to ensure safe techniques to avoid injury or troubleshoot if a move isn't working for you. Instructors will also provide simpler or more advanced variations of one move to ensure access and a challenge for each student. I am a pretty sensitive and shy person, but the community at this studio helps me break out of my comfort zone with a lot of positive encouragement. I highly recommend Ly's pole studio for your aerial arts journey.

Upon arrival, the instructor inspected my nails, handed me a nail clipper, and told me to cut them even shorter. I've trained at multiple studios, including Circus Center in SF, and have never had this requirement taken to this extreme. The studio uses an aerial rig that requires tying on a frame, and when I didn't know how to adjust the silks, the instructor seemed annoyed at having to explain it. During the class, she demonstrated a silks sequence twice, expected us to follow, and when I had difficulty, she told me to move to the Level 1 class. So, my second (and final) visit was to Aerial Silks Level 1. Asia still seemed irritated that I didn't instantly know how to rig the setup; this was only my second time there. Class started 15 minutes late, with just three students total. We then spent the entire hour doing inverts in a knot behind the back. I'm not exaggerating, nothing else for the whole session. When I asked to try something different, I was ignored and told we wouldn't move forward until my invert had zero knee bend. After 30 minutes of nonstop inverts, anyone's legs would fatigue. I've never had such an unpleasant, condescending experience with a teacher. I wasted a session credit on a class that not only started late but also taught me nothing.

I appreciate how professional this business is + how kind everyone here is! And how pole + dance offers discounts to extend itself to the community in an effort to be more accessible to folks :) It is a bit pricier than other studios but the quality is amazing. My only "complaint" is that at one of the classes I signed up for, there were more students than there were poles so some of us had to share. I'm not sure if this is typical for auditioning instructor community centric classes, but I found it a little odd as I've never experienced that at any studio class before, and I've specifically taken several of the $10 classes. I'm not sure if it's an over-booking issue, or the intent really is to have people share but I prefer to have my own pole. Perhaps a helpful feature that could be implemented in the app is showing the class capacity that you're signing up for, I.e. "8/10 spots"-- a studio I used to go to had this feature and it greatly helped me decide on classes to sign up for. Overall a beautiful space and I look forward to more classes here!
