The location of Twirly Studios seems very discreet. Not too much signage except for what's on the door. I decided to sign up for a beginners pole class to use up some time I had while waiting for my car getting a service. I love how personal the class was. There was only about 5 of us. I had always wanted to try pole dancing and it's so much harder than it looks!!! It was a great way to gauge my strength. I was sore for days after. Our instructor was super knowledgeable and encouraging. Made this newcomer feel super welcome. Would I do it again?? Absolutely. First time doing a pole dancing class and we needed an intro class for beginners on a Saturday morning! We drove all the way out and didn't really know what to expect. Jessica was a great instructor, helped correct our moves to improve, encouraged but gave us enough space to practice in between. It was super fun learning the basics with her! If she taught classes in San Jose too I would definitely become a regular student of hers to learn more pole. They allowed you to record videos of yourself the last 2-3 minutes of class! I like this dance studio overall and classes are fun. However last time I went to dance studio felt a bit embarrassed/ shamed for not being able to dance well and singled out by instructor. I had already been having a rough day that day before then and had been looking forward to dance class all day and then left feeling worse than when I had come in. I have been calling and texting since mid December trying to plan a bachelorette party. Being Memorial Day weekend, I wanted to give them and everyone who would be participating, a good heads up. I am planning this from out of state and so far, I've had 3 months of no answers via phone call or email, and two "Thanks for your interest, we'd love to host and we'll get back to you" texts (after multiple texts, as it seems to be what they prefer)...with no follow up. What an amazing studio ran by amazing people! I'm new to pole and have taken a couple classes here and the energy is great. It can be pretty intimidating walking into a studio for the first time but Twirly provides such a safe, supportive environment and you have no choice but to just feel comfortable. I've taken pole classes with Grace and Jade and am so addicted to their classes! If I wasn't sore after class, I'd be here 5x a week lol. Twirly offers more than just pole... heels with Julez is also a must! She is so fun and makes you feel sexy! So looking forward to taking an aerial class next! All in all, if you're reading this, this is your sign to take pole at Twirly. Would highly recommend Twirly studios to anyone looking to experience an introduction to pole dancing or enjoy a fun experience getting to learn the moves. Grace was very friendly right from my first interaction with her. She was quick to answer all my questions related to celebrating a girls time out to celebrate a birthday. On the day of our party we had the entire studio to ourselves. Grace was very tolerant and patient with our group. We had a great great time... She taught us a routine which we all did towards the end. She also was nice enough to play a few songs we wished to dance to towards the end! My friend and I purchased a Groupon to try a beginners pole dancing class at Twirly Girls Pole and we had a blast! For an hour long class, we were taught a couple of fun pole moves that got us both sweating profusely and awkwardly spinning around a pole like we know what we're doing when we really don't. If you plan on taking this class, be prepared to walk out with plenty of bruises, cause it sure ain't easy working the pole. Also, don't put on any lotion prior to the class and wear shorts! Don't worry if you never taken a pole dancing class before, the instructor is very low key and chill so just go and give the pole a twirl! read more

I was visiting my friend in the area and we took a Chair Dance class together! I really enjoyed the class, the instructor and everyone in the class were really friendly and supportive! I learned some cool new tricks! We booked the class online and it actually happened to be a rehearsal for an upcoming performance that the whole class had been working on for weeks - we managed to keep up as best we could! If you are new it may be worth calling and checking what kind of class you are signing up for and whether it is part of a series? I really though a long time about writing this review... but I think it's time. I took Lyra hoop here once and just thought I'd share my TERRIBLE experience. This class is nowhere near beginner friendly so BEWARE!!! I felt like the teacher was kind of annoyed with new students and only cared about the ones who could do a bunch of stuff. I mean this was my first class and I got discouraged. I love watching Lyra and really wanted the opportunity to learn :/ hopefully they separate the classes for beginners and advanced. I absolutely love Twirly Studios! I'm on my 10th Intro to Pole class and am loving it so far. It's definitely very hard and not something I had expected to pick up given that I have zero upper body strength, zero dancing experience and zero sexy vibes just awkward little turtle me...who prefers to be a wallflower....but fortunately I've been met with very kind and encouraging instructors (Thank you Jade and Jessica) who emphasize how vital it is to keep at it and stay positive. Everyone progresses at their own pace and to not compare yourself to anyone. I've always had issues with looking at how others seem to pick up the moves quicker compared to myself who struggles to do a simple body roll! But everyone who I've interacted with, including fellow students who range from those who are beginner level like me to those who have been doing this for a long time have all been very helpful and above all, KIND. I feel myself getting stronger after each class and to anyone who is hesitant because you're worried about how you may look to others or that you may seem awkward, Do Not worry. I had those same feelings when I first started and while I still have a whole lot more to learn, it's been worth it staying consistent with going to class and continuing to build up strength/confidence in myself. Just have to say that Bel's classes are really awesome!! She made me feel really comfortable and let me come out of my shell just a bit ;). It was a great workout, and I had some new moves to bring home! You really MUST take a class, whether the pole dancing, fem fatale class, or some of the other great classes/ special events that she organizes. Some of the girls that were in the class I took were all friends and had some drinks at the bar (in clubsport) first. Had a pole party at Twirly Girls to kick off a bachelorette party & it was a great start to the day! Bel was an amazing instructor; friendly, funny & knowledgeable. She got us out of our comfort zones which made our private pole party even more memorable & so much fun! The 2.5 hour class flew by fast! We learned new dance moves, pole techniques & let go of some inhibitions. Towards the end of class we went wild. Threw on some costume accessories, high heels & struck a bunch of poses for our SnapChats, Boomerangs, Instagrams & of course pics to give our hubbies, too. This dance studio location lacks parking and is a bit hard to find. Front door is located behind a restaurant, by its backdoor. The actual studio is surprisingly nice though once you get inside. So don't let the exterior fool you. The main dance room has (I think) 7 poles. Back room also has aerial silks for aerial dance. Very clean and well maintained bathroom. The entire studio is clean & bright in fact. Cubbyholes for stashing your stuff so it doesnt get in the way. Adjustable colored lighting to add personality and sexiness while you dance! Bel is a knowledgeable and friendly pole instructor! I love her humor & energy. She makes you feel relaxed and welcome. I had a Groupon and dropped in for a beginner class. I think the basic tricks and techniques she taught us were definitely a great foundation for the aspiring pole dancer. She also added in her expertise with how to land the moves correctly. That's how you know she's a good teacher. (Some people can be good at what they do but do not know how to communicate and teach their skill to others) She was also very sweet when I emailed her explaining that I was nursing a sprained ankle and requested to use a newly expired Groupon. I just visited today for a beginner's class and LOVED every minute of Bel's class! I read the reviews that said the beginner's class was very elementary so I was quite nervous about taking her class. However, even from someone who has taken quite a few pole classes (beginner and otherwise), I didn't think her class was too easy at all. In contrast, I felt as though Bel's class was probably the most informative/technical beginner's class I've ever taken -- Bel really broke down the spins and moves (which I needed in order to follow along). The individual moves we learned were combined into a routine at the end (which MOST beginner classes I've taken have never done) -- it was so cool to see the "simple" moves we learned transformed into a rather impressive routine (at least in my opinion...). I definitely felt as though I learned a lot and felt more confident on the pole after Bel's class. Not to mention, Bel is a lively, warm, and wonderful instructor who manages to have fun WHILE staying on task. She obviously has a ton of experience in this field and I'm beyond excited to have found her studio. read more

I checked out a taster class on Friday and I have accumulated exactly one bruise and my arms are delightfully sore! They feel very toned from that one class. I am very pleased. I decided to check out the studio because I was interested in pursuing an ariel class during the summer. The pre-requisite is that I should be able to climb a pole...which makes sense if you think about it. Bel, the owner is very welcoming and charismatic. She led a small group of women through lots of different moves. She was cracking jokes, spotting students, and warning us of potential danger (aka bruising or falling) before we tried the moves ourselves. I liked the small size of the studio. The class I attended had 4 students total. The class was paced to how quickly we were able to learn. By the end of the hour, we all had enough twirls and transitions to be able to dance continuously during the free dance period at the end of class. I also liked trying out the spinning poles. They were really fun! I look forward to dropping in on their classes in the future. It seems like a fun way to burn some calories, feel sexy, and work out that upper body. read more

I am a huge fan of Twirly Girls Pole Fitness. I started classes with Bel three months ago. It is a great workout mixed with sexy and fun moves. I look forward to class every single week. I find that the key to getting in shape is having fun while doing it and having reliable workout partners to meet up with. I love how Bel encourages and accepts everyone, and is willing to change the workout to meet all levels of fitness. Prior to Twirly Girls, I called several other studios and was informed that weight limits on the poles were pretty low (you had to be well under 200 pounds and, at six feet tall, I don't meet that requirement) and they couldn't fit their program to everyone. Not only are you working towards a "better you", you are also bound to have a great time. I stumbled upon Twirly Girls with a girlfriend about a month or two ago. After comparing Bel's prices with other studios a $25 Taster's Class is the best way to get your feet wet. And from there she has a $120 per month fee: Twirly Girls also get the benefit of getting reduced party prices and special TG-only events. Bel is a great instructor. She's half the reason why I love this place so much. Never have I ever met someone so passionate and dedicated to making someone else feel good about themselves. She works at your pace. There is nothing trashy about pole fitness. Her studio is super cute and dimly lit (which is a huge plus compared to the gym's harsh lighting). Everything about it makes you feel super comfortable and girly. I've been taking classes here for about a month and had my birthday recently. My girlfriends and I had such a blast with the studio to ourselves. We are all busy college students and this was the perfect excuse to let our hair down. I spent my 25th birthday with Twirly Girls and had the most memorable, fun birthday yet. My 8 girl friends and I had a Diva Party 2 weeks ago. We didn't know what to expect, as we were all pole dancing virgins. Boy, did it blow our minds! After a fun bottomless mimosa brunch down the street, we skipped our way over to Twirly Girls for a 3-hour session with Bel. My gosh! The studio was gorgeous. Completely decked out with candles, dim lighting, and adorable furniture -- it was the perfect setting for our party. Bel even set up a table for snacks and drinks (which, in all the excitement of the dancing, we barely touched). I don't know where to begin in describing how fun and amazing Bel's instruction was... Let me try my best. I don't think this review does it justice. We giggled our way through class, but learned some real moves, too. Now we can all strut, twirl poles, and throw our hair around. Bel's teaching style was the perfect combination of serious and not. She put everyone at ease, while still helping us through the semi-complicated moves. With 5 poles, we each had our fair share of twirling. The party was awesome and Bel was such a great teacher. It felt like she truly cared about the fun we were having. She even extended our session by a half hour or so because she said she didn't have plans after class. Another highlight: she offered her bottled water to us because we didn't bring our own. Another highlight again: She gave me my very own red boa to keep! I highly highly recommend having a Diva Party at Twirly Girls. My friend set up a Girls Night Out here and we had a blast! I totally recommend this place for a Birthday Party, Bachelorette Party or like what we had, a Girls Night Out Party! There were about 6 poles in the room (one of them were slim for people with small hands like me Yay!), there is a box of goodies to put on like boas, dresses, wigs and what nots to help you get in touch with your sexy side and the place was decorated really cute! The owner let us set up a corner with drinks and desserts and favors and then we had our class which was super fun. After seeing the Peepshow in Vegas, it just reignited the idea of learning how to do pole dancing. Considering this studio was the closest to work, a couple of gals and I tried the Taster Class. The Taster Class is a class you can take before having to commit to classes and it only costs $25. Situated in Downtown P-Town (Pleasanton for those who don't know the lingo), you actually have to walk around a building to enter the studio since the taster class we took was at 8pm and the front entrance is closed. There are 6 poles: 1 brass and bendy, 4 normal free spin poles, and 1 skinny free spin pole. The room has a huge mirrored wall which is nice. There are lots of costumes and photos on the walls for parties. Bel is the instructor. She's crazy fit. I totally want to be her one day. She's crossfit certified, teaches boot camp, spin, and pole class. Well the type of class here is more focused on hair tosses, body grabbing, etc., not really focused on dancing and learning a routine, more like learning moves and then at the end Bel makes you perform your own routine on the pole. It was the longest 3-4 minutes of my life. Anyways, I did learn a lot in the class considering it was just 1 session. We learned about 2 spins, how to walk to the pole, around the pole, a few moves beside the pole, climbing the pole...yeah let's just say there was a lot of innuendos throughout the night that I couldn't help laughing. I highly recommend taking a Taster Class if you're wanting to touch a pole, caress a pole, climb a pole, swing on a pole, spin on a pole...yeah you can do ANYTHING with a pole and you get to see if you like a brass pole or a thick pole vs. a skinny pole. What I learned is a thick pole is so much better. More to grab and easier to climb. Also definitely wear boyshorts and no moisturizer for a few days before you take the class...it does make a difference. You don't need to buy high heels and barefoot is usually the common "footwear." One thing I do like is that Bel makes the class fun and as awkward as it was, no one cares cause everyone's in the same boat =) One thing I do want to gripe over is that the class can go up to 2 girls per pole. We were lucky that there were 7 of us and so we only had to double-up on one pole. Make sure to ask Bel how many girls are going to be in the class because it's nice to have your own pole. Recently came here for a Bday bash and it was such a fun time. The Birthday girl was able to bring in her own refreshments to set up before we got our Pole dancing lesson for an hour. Belle was our teacher for the day and she was really funny, knowledgeable, super skilled (could really work that pole) and got the girls to relax and just have a good time. I love this place. Been looking for a hobby to get back into and I have found it. I started out very self-conscious since i'm not exactly the skinny type, but the teachers and community here are so supportive and giving. I have learned a lot since I started about a month ago (technically two months ago but then i was on a one month hiatus :/) and every time i come to class, i look forward to learning something new, or trying to perfect what i already know. Grace is an amazing teacher. I can say I definitely learned a lot from her and she does not hesitate to help you. She teaches on Sundays and I do look forward to each and every Sunday for her class :) Bel is also an amazing teacher. She teaches the basics class and she always wants to be sure you are doing the move correctly. She will never push you to do something that you or she feels that you are not ready for. Both teachers are super supportive, super attentive, and definitely takes some anxiety out of class for me. But what really keeps me coming is this new confidence that I have gained in myself ever since I started here. I have never felt more feminine and so good about myself, at least in a long time. I just thought it would be something different and fun...and boy was it! or "hello boys" was it (twirly girl inside joke) Bel was great to work with setting up the party. Marilyn was our teacher and she knew her stuff. I'm still sore from the party-part from laughing so hard, but mostly from working it! They recommend booty shorts which I didn't think was a big, but it does make a difference. After deciding this is what I wanted to do for my bday, I enlisted a few friends for backup... From the very beginning, Bel made it easy for me to make the party happen. When we walked in through the back (as Euphoria Nails was closed) knocked on the door & entered the studio, we were amazed! The studio is decked out in the most amazing decor that just screams sexy! Hats, costumes, low lights, music, candles, you name it!! We learned the basics, how to make sure the pole wasnt too slick, how to look sexy, a few twirls & the super sexy way to get up the pole! It worked out nicely that there were 4 of us girls & Bel, so we all had our own pole & Bel instructed us from the middle. We also were able to test out the different types of poles, ie the standard (4), the skinny mini (1) & the other one (1) thats a different type, but cant remember what its made of. I think I absolutely adore the free spinning poles, easily making us rookies look amazingly hot!! We completed the night with costume changes, cupcakes & shots between the spins b/c we were pretty exhausted! I'd say our night of pole fitness is one of the best workouts I've had in a long time & will definately be back for more! Its a friendly & relaxed enviorment that keeps you on your toes & a smile on your face. Thank you Bel, for an experience I'll never forget! I've been taking classes and workshops with Bel at my gym for about a year, and now have added classes and workshops at the new Twirly Girls studio. What a fantastic workout!! I've taken pole classes at other studios before, but Bel's classes are by far the most fun, and the most challenging, in terms of a physical workout. I've noticed a huge difference in my core strength, and I am hooked for life! Bel is so energetic and friendly, and even the first-timers don't feel intimidated.
