We recently attended a birthday party organized by a friend at this venue. The event was held in a private room with a pre-selected menu and our own DJ. Overall, it was a nice experience. The food was delicious and well prepared, and the waitstaff were very friendly and attentive throughout the evening. The venue itself was clean and well maintained. Although drinks were not included in our package, I was able to easily walk to the bar and order one. I ordered a Long Island Iced Tea--it wasn't the best I've had and it wasn't very strong, but it was still okay. Since we rented a private room for what was essentially a church-related gathering, we asked if a few decorations related to the holiday the venue was celebrating could be removed because they were not appropriate for our group. This was a simple request, but there was some resistance at first. It felt like the staff expected us to participate in their celebration rather than respect the nature of our event. After speaking with management and insisting on our request, they eventually made the change, which we appreciated. The venue is also very strict with time. You are allowed two hours before the event to set up, and no additional time beyond that. They also mentioned that staying past the allotted time could result in a charge of $2,000 per extra hour, which felt excessive and something that should have been clearly communicated in advance. Thankfully, we were able to finish right on time and avoided any extra charges. Overall, the food, service, and atmosphere were great, but clearer communication and a bit more flexibility with reasonable requests would make the experience even better. Ps. A fun, and free family outing. During the holidays The Milleridge Inn comes to life with a holiday display walk through. The event is free, and anyone can visit. If you have small kids, this is perfect for them. There's a cute little train to drives around the lot, the kids would love it. The shops around the walk through are heavily lit up and stocked with all things holidays. The area is not big, and displays are close to one another, expect a crow and expect the stand on lines for shops and even to get pictures with the tree and the artificial Santa's. Over all, it's a nice little outing, it may take about 15-20 min to walk through if you don't stop at every display to admire or take some pics. read more

Here's the Scoop! This restaurant reminds me so much of an old Christmas card from the 50's . The decorations, the ornaments are just gorgeous. It's cozy and so beautiful to eat and fellowship with friends, the decor just relaxes you. The hostess are very friendly and helpful upon entering. The seating accommodates all size groups. Private rooms are also available. The waitresses and waiters are quick , friendly and helpful when ordering and bringing out appetizers. Love the service and the food isn't bad. Nice portions as well. I enjoyed the Salmon. Outside there's Santa's Village and many shops to go in. Love this place it really sets the tone for families bringing their children to celebrate during the holidays. Had not been here in decades... back home on LI Thanksgiving Day and went back and forth for weeks to book or not, based on the reviews... Had one of the latest seatings for the dinner ( non buffet). We had some service issues, but they were resolved. Luis was excellent as our server: personal and friendly. Supervisor Pepe was effective and helpful at remedying our situation. Food was fantastic ( and lots of leftovers!). My memories of the building don't match what it looks like today, but what a stunning venue! A must see.. I hadn't been to The Milleridge Inn since I was a little girl. It's a historical establishment that offers food, cocktails, host's weddings and other events, and has a cute shopping village. Now that it's winter it's decorated festively for the holiday season. We were serenaded by a trio of female carolers dressed up in old fashioned attire - a nice touch. Our waitress was very attentive and helpful. My friend and I didn't like our cocktails so she recommended another one that we both loved. We both enjoyed our meals - I had a burger and my friend had steak - both tasty and cooked exactly how we wanted them. We were too full for dessert, but the delicious cinnamon bread they serve at the beginning actually did the trick! We took our 4 year old for the Easter event...it was cash only which we were not aware of but they do have an ATM in the same building as the Easter bunny photos. Our 4 year old loved the bounce houses...Shops are really small but super cute! Only 1 person working the funnel cake/ice cream shop so that was moving very slowly. The playcafe had been rented for a birthday party and we couldn't use it...no signage saying such just the family that booked it telling people it's a private event. The cocktail hour is usually the best part of the wedding in terms of food selection, but there was nothing worth eating. It was disgusting. Yesterday I get a voicemail left by a girl named Jennifer, who said that they had to cancel my reservations because they were going to redo their hours for after the holiday. 2 Family visiting for my birthday. Reservations at 7. Get seated right away. Waiter comes over after 5 minutes & takes our drink order. We wait 30 minutes for our drinks. Place our food order and no lie, it comes out in 5 minutes. Lukewarm if not cold. Pretty sure it was sitting under a heatlamp. We start talking to the table near us and they basically said their food was cold & inedible. They got to the manager before us. Complained but he didn't seem too concerned. Came here Easter Sunday with family. The reservation was for 5pm. Was not seated until 5:30. when I made the reservation I was told it must be pre paid. Keep in mind this was for four people. I gave my credit card over the phone and car was billed immediately. This is the first and only time i've been asked to pay in advance. I wanted to take my family out for a memorable Easter. Dinner was price fixed around $70.00 a person without coffee. I had my heart set on the prime rib . After about twenty minutes sitting at the table, I finally asked a bus person for some bread, water, and a waiter. About 15 minutes later a waitress came to take our order. I ordered the prime rib. I was told the ran out of prime rib. the only remaining choices were chicken, fish, or ravioli. I felt upset. I had pre paid for this meal, obviously the restaurant knew how many guest would be dining on Easter Sunday as all patrons had to pre pay for their reservation. Guests were court of luck if they wanted beef. No refund policy. I just did not appreciate or enjoy a $70.00 piece of turkey. A word of advice to the new owners of the milleridge inn, the people patronized your establishment for decades are neither stupid or opposed to taking their business elsewhere! What a tremendous disappointment! I used to come to the Milleridge with family when I was a kid and as a young adult, and back then it was a wonderful experience. But times have changed. Now the place is overpriced, the management classless, and they completely nickel-and-dime everyone. Today, for Easter, my family and I decided to head over, driving a half-hour through the rain to get there. Though in the past I've done the holiday at the restaurant, this year we weren't meeting with any family, so we decided to skip the pricey dinner and just go to the village. They've closed off half of two stores, making the candy shop and general store shadows of what they used to be. The bakery isn't very good and has an extremely limited selection. The ice-cream shop is not only overpriced, but no longer has burgers and fries like it used to. We bought a soda there and realized afterwards that the expiration date was four months ago. Overall, everything in the village is overpriced, but getting a little ripped off for Easter is no big deal to me, if you have a good experience. But the experience isn't what it once was - it feels like they're looking to trap people rather than actually make sure they're showing them a good time. Here's what's even worse, though: they literally wouldn't let our kids get some twisted balloons. We'd spent a bunch of money in the village, despite the rain, and had gone in to where they were doing balloons and face-painting. Just as the woman there was making one of our daughters a balloon sword, she stopped and asked to see our reservation. We didn't know what she was talking about. She explained that you need a reservation at the restaurant in order to get a balloon. For a family of five, that reservation would've been $280, plus tax. For three balloons, it would've cost them about 25 cents. Mind you, there were no signs saying that the balloons were only for families with reservations, nor any reason we would expect that it was so. We were there later, so there was no line, but earlier there had been, and the odds are a number of people waited in it only to find out once they got to the front that their kids couldn't get balloons. I also wouldn't have minded spending the $280, mind you, as steep as it is. We just hadn't figured on doing the restaurant this year. But here's what really bothered me: Even when I approached the manager and asked about this ridiculous policy, he was smug and dismissive. I asked if he would think it was OK if it was his kids, and he told me he would spend the extra money to make sure his kids could get balloons. He saw nothing wrong with it. A decent person, of course - or even just a decent businessman - would've said, "I'm sorry about that. C'mon, I'll get ya some balloons," and made sure we left with a good impression. This guy was, unfortunately, neither of those things. His attitude was that, if you don't spend a lot of money there, your kids shouldn't get balloons. Now, perhaps George Washington slept there once or Alexander Hamilton farted there - who knows and who cares. But the place is now both classist and classless. So the food is decent, but I give this place 5 stars mainly for the atmosphere and historic story behind the inn. The property dates back to 1653 and was a place for settlers and british soldiers to stay. The restaurant itself has a nice large old tavern and features some nice wood fireplaces and a few smaller private rooms. They also have a nice recently renovated bar. The food is pretty good and features a more traditional American menu. The french onion soup is a great starter, and the meatloaf, believe it or not, is my favorite main. The bread to start, which is made on sight, is also delicious. On the grounds they also have a nice authentic shopping village, which is always nicely decorated for the holidays; especially christmas. Catering and event wise they a separate cottage, which is very nice for events. Overall, it was a great long island staple and a must visit during Christmas, in my opinion. read more

Ambiance We had reservations for 7:00 p.m. for a party of nine and decided to arrive early so we could walk through the little shops located alongside the Inn. It was absolutely magical. It truly felt like shopping at the North Pole--at least it did to me. The attention to detail in each store, both inside and out, was perfect and beautifully done. Service & Food Unfortunately, the service was extremely lacking. We repeatedly had to hunt down our waitress, and when we did find her, she was rude and dismissive. After nearly two hours of waiting, only one starter and a French onion soup (which was good) arrived. The mac & cheese was very disappointing--dry and cold, so you can imagine what that looked like. The manager who can barely see over the podium and has a superiority complex had his face in his iPad trying to figure out the seating while over 50 people (including my 92 year old grandmother) waited in an unheated atrium. The dining room completely empty. What a joke. The food, was hardly edible. Frozen calamari, glasses with gross debris in them. One positive, our server was very nice. - I told her to get a job elsewhere. Soap in the bathroom smells wonderful. If I could give this place a zero I would. The hostesses said that the chef told them to stop seating people because they were too busy. My experience at The Milleridge Inn was unacceptable. I was charged $325.62 for a dinner that was genuinely disgusting and wildly overpriced for what was served. THEY CHARGED ME $325 BASE AND THEN THERE WAS AN UPCHARGE FOR CHEESE ON THE FRENCH ONION SOUP!!! The food was poorly prepared, low quality, and absolutely not reflective of the price point. I have paid less for lunch for 6 and DISNEY WORLD -- there is no justification for what we were charged here. What made the situation worse was the customer service. It was rude, inflexible, and completely dismissive. There was zero accountability and no effort to make things right. It felt very clear that the priority was keeping the money, not caring for guests or standing behind the experience they provide. I attempted to resolve this directly and was ignored, which left me no choice but to dispute the charge. While the charge was ultimately upheld, that does not change the fact that the food, service, and overall experience were unacceptable. For the amount charged, this experience fell far below even basic expectations. I will NEVER return and would strongly caution others before spending their money here. read more

Change of plans and I geared them to TMI. I suggested their fabulous brunch, it never disappoints, (I missed the crab legs). Food was delicious, freshly made. Among other dishes: the Quiche, the Eggplant Rollatini, shrimp cocktail , for dessert, the coconut-lemon cake is divine but so is the cherry crumbled. What a money grab.!!! On site Milleridge Restaurants must have a daily delivery from Restaurant Depot. Pre-processed servings were obviously micro wave "stuff" with poor quality and little taste. A clue is watch out when they over flow your plate with fires, and veggies and salads. I remember when there was actual chef cooked food there but not any more. If you have kids, you can watch them play on old inflated houses etc. Of course the large tent that house these bacteria laden objects is UNHEATED....so watch how your breath fogs the air. Oh...and there is a money charge for this "treat". Avoid the igloo rip off.....my server "served" at least 6-8 "I apologize" over stuff that was not right, didn't work, or was just weird. Heat was minimal, outside generator was too close, and just uncomfortable. Ice water when its 30 degrees outside?....give me a break! The once welcoming Village was loaded with super over priced junk from overseas. Stuff was pretty but reeked with price rip off , money gouge. Came for dinner at the newly renovated Milleridge Inn. I love the colonial and historic feel. Started off with the cinnamon bread which is to die for! I don't remember the name as the menu has changed a bit, but I got a breadless eggplant sandwich. I did get it without the mushrooms and cheese, but it was so flavorful and fresh and came with some fries as well. For dessert, I shared a piece of the 7 layer cake which was the best 7 layer cake I've ever had! The texture was a bit different, very thick and there were undertones of a coffee flavor. After a wonderful brunch we left felling robbed. Let me explain The food and service was wonderful. We prepaid for the required amount of guests in a certified check as requested in the amount Amanda, the banquet Sales Manager told us to a week before the event. At the end of the event, as we were preparing to leave and tip our servers an employee came up to us and said we owed $45 more dollars in front of our guests. 30 of our 45 prepaid guests actually arrived. The amount we had the certified check made out was the amount we were told by Amanda. We paid for 45 guests ahead of time.... We went to the Milleridge's Easter Brunch and it was awful. For the amount of money they charged per person, they should have had a better spread of food and at least some alcohol included. The food was disgusting, with hardly any choices and powered eggs. They had yogurt containers in an ice bucket, that was practically melted so they were just floating in water. We were seated at a table where all the glasses were filthy and instead of giving us new glasses, the staff came back with plastic cups with caps and straws for the adults. The lady blowing up balloons kept popping them so it sounded like gunshots every few minutes. This place was a RIP OFF. The Easter Bunny looked miserable just sitting on the couch, not even really interacting with children. And all the extras they have, like the bunny train, bounce houses etc, all extra. A year ago I gave the Milleridge a raving review. Also at Christmas,as this was always the place we would celebrate special occasions, even got married there. Been going there for over 50 years.Unfortunately I have to give it a horrible review this year. There won't be anymore reviews by me as I will not be returning. My family and I had reservations during Christmas week when they are supposed to have the carolers. We waited for 45 minutes to be seated. We were seated in the middle of chaos! No room to move your chair out from table,, couldn't hear yourself speak. Waitress came and took drink orders and at the same time said we were missing the page with the "Specials" from our menu. She never returned. We were never served bread, no popovers and no carolers in sight. My husband went back to girl that sat us and explained the situation and asked to change our table. The girl responded that we should have expected this! They changed our table to another room by a service area and an outside door. It was freezing! We sat there waiting and no service! At the same time we saw a waitress walking with someone else's drinks all frustrated as if overworked, let's out a big breath of air which enables her saliva to spray to spread amongst the tray of drinks she was carrying! At that point we got up from our table and left! Horrendous! FYI : we did save the evening and had a wonderful dinner at The Mill Creek Tavern in Bayville . They definitely know how to run a restaurant. Treat their customers with respect and serve delicious food! read more
