The signage on this business does not begin to describe the gloriousness of the store, which is one of my favorite businesses. These photos are from September 2022. The Milled Olive in Star, owned by Dan and Angie McGetrick, has the largest selection of premium, imported olive oils, and balsamic vinegars in Idaho. All are available for you to sample on site. The McGetricks are knowledgeable about the products they sell, and happy to give you suggestions about how best to use them, as well as help you find the ones best suited for you. In addition to premium olive oil and balsamic vinegars, The Milled Olive has lots of specialty food items, many of which you cannot purchase anywhere else in the state. The Milled Olive also offers home and kitchen, decor, gift items, and they do custom gift baskets. The McGetricks are in the process of opening a second, and larger location in Caldwell. I can't wait! Highly Recommended!!!

Amazing! I could have easily spent an hour or two in this store. They have an extensive selection of delicious olive oils & balsamics. They were all so good and I had a tough time narrowing down my selections. There are larger bottles (375ml) and minis (100ml) which i loved! We grabbed a handful of olive oils & balsamic vinaigrettes, a candle, and a dip mix... we will most certainly be back!!

What a wonderful little find- The Milled Olive is a specialty shop for olive oil, balsamic vinegar, spice mixes, and packed floor to ceiling with kitchen related items and gift items- reminded me a bit of Hallmark store with some of the items offered. The woman working asked if we had been in before, and when we mentioned it was our first time she said, "If I knew that I would have said look left, look right, look up, look down and then look again!" She was right- there is stuff in every nook and cranny of this place! I bought a chipotle olive oil after a taste test because it was delicious and 50% off. Truly a special place with unique options and they are opening a Caldwell shop in the fall. I look forward to seeing what the new storefront has to offer!

If you live in the Treasure Valley, and enjoy going out to eat, and haven't been to Italianesque,…read morethen you are missing something special. This is more true if you live in Nampa, and this situation applied to my wife and I prior to yesterday. Don't be put off by it's location. Yes, this spot does not seem like a place where you would find a great eating establishment, but based upon our experience, that should be at the bottom of the list of concerns. The vibe of the place represents it's truth. Italianesque feels like a family run restaurant, run by people who enjoy what they do. That's because that is exactly what it is. There is no corporate mood or tone here, but rather it feels like friends wanting to run a neighborhood restaurant with all the good things that go with providing that kind of service to the local community. I'd recommend getting a reservation if you want to dine inside, but we failed to do that last night and the tables were full at 5:00pm on a Thursday. That's a pretty good signal that Italianesque has something good going on. Our experience was five-stars across the board. We ate on the patio which was pleasant in the shade, and the soft breeze felt nice in the informal al fresco environment. The service was excellent. Paula was a delight, and the other servers were all super friendly and helpful too. We enjoyed our specialty cocktails as our food was being prepared, and we enjoyed the appetizer special. The single word I would describe our dinner entrées would be "Wow". I had the spicy Cajun Seafood Linguini, and it was truly delicious. So full of flavor! We ended our meal with a slice of Key Lime Pie which did not disappoint. My opinion is that Italian food should be zesty and bold, cooked with passion and served with a smile. Italianesque delivered. If you enjoy bland Italian cooking, or just an average meal, there are plenty of other places you can go to. We'll be back to Italianesque, because there were many other things on the menu that I really want to try.

The appetizer bread is good but not $10 good 6 for the bread and a bowl of olive oil is $4 with seasonings. For 4 slices of bread. I expected like a loaf for that. I got the pappardelle bolognese with a meatball, a 3 oz dry meatball not worth the up charge. . And friend got Alfredo was also good just a little soupy. Solid place but the basics work here unless you want to splurge but the prices are not worth it to me. To each their own.

But I've never ordered it since at Coa del Mar. He said theirs was quite good so I took a chance. It was EXCELLENT. The seafood and linguine were well cooked, the dish was flavorful, and the entire plate was served piping hot. I will be back! [See my Barbacoa review. A reservation was made and we made our way in Saturday to celebrate. My husband and I were late arriving cause of work. But my family and friends got drinks and apps started. I wasn't expecting them to wait but I'm happy that they did! The drinks and apps kept them at bay till we arrived. The venue is stunning! I love the decor here. I have always been intrigued with European vintage decor and this restaurant is beautifully devoted decorated with this kind of esthetic. Such a romantic setting. The rich deep red wall. The ornate vintage frames. The plants. It's truly a beautiful set up. After my husband and I got settled in and drinks ordered, we got dinner placed. I got 2 orders of meatballs and my husband got the seafood pasta. While food was being worked on, everyone shared the bread and balsamic olive oil dip that was on the table. I heard the bread was good. I didn't get a chance to try it since it was communal. Our meals were slowly trickling out. My meatballs looked amazing! My husband's plate looked fabulous. You can see the shrimp, mussels, clams.... We all became quiet and started on our meals. My meatballs were huge! I have had meatballs at other restaurants and have been hungry still. The size of these babies let me know I was not going to have that issue. It was nicely covered in marinara. A hearty covering of parmesan. Everything about the meatballs were great! I have severe fomo so of course I had to try my husband's plate. I tried a couple of his penne. I was really thrown back at the heat of the sauce. I tried another bite and it was still spicy. The spice was something neither one of us were expecting. Before I say anything to our server, I did look over the menu to see if we missed anything in the description of the dish. No chili was listed. Nothing about it being garnished with chili flakes. From reading the menu, no spice was described in the dish. My husband has a real sensitive pallet so I asked the manager/owner why spice wasn't indicted in the menu. We wouldn't have ordered it if there was. The manager said they can remove the sauce and add new sauce that didn't have chili flakes in it. "It would make it less spicy." I was actually surprised he didn't suggest a new dish that didn't have heat in it. We were complaining about the heat and I honestly don't think replacing sauce that has spice in it with new sauce with spice will do anything.... but hey, we went with it. The second dish was made and dropped off. Unfortunately, the sauce was still spicy and my husband could barely eat it. He ate the seafood which was a few pieces of shrimp, clams, bay scallops, mussels and fish. This dish was drowned in this sauce so there was no way to eat the seafood with the sauce. This dish is 34 bucks and my husband could barely finish the seafood. Our server was kind and got me birthday dessert. The chocolate cake was killer good! It wasn't overly sweet. The frosting was rich in chocolate and the cake was super moist. I only took a couple bites and took the rest home. I was not going to leave this bad boy behind. We spent a little over 70 dollars on dinner to have my husband leave hungry. I came home and made him a second dinner. Nothing more disappointing than spending that much money just to come home and eat again. Money is tight for everyone so the fact that we chose to come here and spend our heard earned money to have my husband hungry just makes my heart sad. Overall, my meatballs and cake were good. Service was great. The venue is very pretty. But, having my husband eat a meal that was poorly described in the menu is just disappointing and having him leave husband is upsetting. I'm happy I got to try it out but I don't think we will be hitting up this joint again any time soon.

We started our meal with the white truffle bread appetizer and it was phenomenal. Lots of garlic, of course, and a great truffle flavor (one of my favorites). We also had the calamari appetizer with an aioli and house-made marinara. Both sauces were fantastic and I was grateful that the calamari were all rings, no tentacles. One of my pet-peeves is calamari with a bunch of dry, meatless tentacles added to fill up the plate. The entrees were absolutely delicious. I had the smashed meatball ragu which had an abundance of meat and great flavor. My wife had the "Sunday Lasagna" and is still talking about how good it was a week later. And, coming from an Italian lady who makes a crazy-good lasagna, that is a HUGE complement. We ended with a Tiramisu, my go to at any Italian restaurant, and it was creamy, full of espresso flavor and worth having again. I see that some reviews are talking about slow turn times in receiving their food. We have noticed, in the times we have come, that it does take some time to get our food but, when you see one of the cooks rolling out their homemade pasta in the kitchen, you give grace. Last thing. I cannot end without mentioning our waitress. She was beyond good at making us feel welcome and being prompt, responsive and a joy to interact with.
