Found a lot of beautiful things for the kitchen I felt so good in the store, it had a great vibe and the clerk was so friendly

Based on at least ten visits, (three last year before we moved here). Great shop for; all types of pasta, sauces, custom ravioli, seasonings, olive oil, marinades, garden decorative items (seasonal too), soup packs (for crockpot especially), mustards and so much much more! We would bring back to one family the gluten free pastas. We are not gluten free..regular pasta for us. Now that we live here, this is our regular shop to enhance our home cooking recipes. Very good customer service. I highly recommend the soup packages, take a look at the salt percentage but the majority are on the low to moderate. We've been purchasing the same soup packages up north. If a veteran, let the cashier know. Oh.....the Star local monthly newspaper had a great article on The Milled Olive. Regarding prices vs quality....if this is your first visit, buy one pasta package and one marinade. You'll appreciate and notice the difference in taste. The price is worth the value. Bring some pasta home and treat your family!! Five plus stars!! Shop local also. read more

We just moved to Idaho and we were looking for some gifts to send back home. This place had something for everyone! From Olive oils and charcuterie supplies, to little trinkets and witty kitchen towels. I could probably spend the whole day there. read more

A firm favorite in Star's toon town plaza, a shop filled with interesting food and table items, tea towels and knick nacks. The staff are friendly and the prices are fair. They've opened up a seasonal store a few doors down with more upscale and very nice decor and table wear. read more

I love stopping in here -- it's one of those stores where you always find something new. Their selection of oils and vinegars is amazing, and there are always great samples to try. Beyond that, they have beautiful dishes, unique spices, and seasonal décor that make it a fun place to browse. The signage on this business does not begin to describe the gloriousness of the store, which is one of my favorite businesses. These photos are from September 2022. The Milled Olive in Star, owned by Dan and Angie McGetrick, has the largest selection of premium, imported olive oils, and balsamic vinegars in Idaho. All are available for you to sample on site. The McGetricks are knowledgeable about the products they sell, and happy to give you suggestions about how best to use them, as well as help you find the ones best suited for you. In addition to premium olive oil and balsamic vinegars, The Milled Olive has lots of specialty food items, many of which you cannot purchase anywhere else in the state. The Milled Olive also offers home and kitchen, decor, gift items, and they do custom gift baskets. The McGetricks are in the process of opening a second, and larger location in Caldwell. An incredible little surprise in Star. I was looking for some local honey and called the store. They had some in stock so we made a visit to the store. When I walked in I was immediately mesmerized what a lovely store with the most amazing collection of gift items for purchase. Along with a wall of local EVOO and local honey. Amazing! I could have easily spent an hour or two in this store. They have an extensive selection of delicious olive oils & balsamics. They were all so good and I had a tough time narrowing down my selections. There are larger bottles (375ml) and minis (100ml) which i loved! We grabbed a handful of olive oils & balsamic vinaigrettes, a candle, and a dip mix... we will most certainly be back!! read more

I love all things olive especially olive oils and flavored olive oils are something of a treat. Since discovering this store, I wonder if it's a fad of the area or the times that flavored olive oils are a thing. I first found them at our local farmers market and discovered that garlic, lemon, and basil were my favorites. Then it became harder and harder to find my vendor at the farmers market. Once I found The Milled Olive the olive oil game elevated. Instead of just lemon, you can get lemongrass basil or other combinations. They also have so many associated gift items and other edible delights. My only concern is my pocketbook. Definitely a great place to treat yourself or buy a gift. read more

Such a cute little store with so much to offer. Husbands should keep their wife's close at this store, I don't think we have left with out getting something. So many party / social gathering items. What a wonderful little find- The Milled Olive is a specialty shop for olive oil, balsamic vinegar, spice mixes, and packed floor to ceiling with kitchen related items and gift items- reminded me a bit of Hallmark store with some of the items offered. The woman working asked if we had been in before, and when we mentioned it was our first time she said, "If I knew that I would have said look left, look right, look up, look down and then look again!" She was right- there is stuff in every nook and cranny of this place! I bought a chipotle olive oil after a taste test because it was delicious and 50% off. Truly a special place with unique options and they are opening a Caldwell shop in the fall. I look forward to seeing what the new storefront has to offer! read more

Been there twice in 3 weeks just to get more specialty balsamic and olive oils! Omg so good! I picked up a San Francisco sourdough starter and some beautiful dried garlic and chive pasta. Lots of salts and seasonings, jams, ceramic cookware and cutesie little things you never knew you absolutely needed! Very helpful kind and enthusiastic staff, which is so appreciated. Small store with lots to offer, they make great use of every space. Be mindful of purses swinging, oversized coats and little fingers, have almost knocked over a few things when I was moving too fast. Because when I say it's jammed pack with goodness, I really mean it. Go visit, such an amazing store! read more

I love to promote businesses when I discover wonderful local places. Mom has been wanting me to visit "The Milled Olive" located in Star, ID and I finally got a chance to do just that a couple days ago. What a great store! EVERY type of flavored olive oil and balsamic vinegar you can think of is in this store (and they do it correctly with the products being stored in dark glass). Sampling was an all day affair and eye opening for some of the flavors. The owner showed us how to mix a couple different flavors that made a delicious salad dressing (guess who's not EVER going to buy store bought salad dressing again) and it was so easy to do. Spices galore with coffees, teas, pastas, candies, mustards, chutneys, honeys, olives, capers, pickled everything (except okra but I'm not sad about that because I dislike okra), cocktail mixes and I'm sure I've missed numerous other food options. Then on top of that you have all the paraphernalia that comes with using all these food items, and you have serving dishes in all sorts of themes...and gifts, gifts and 100 more gifts!! It really was a wonderful store to browse and get sample coffee and teas and just talk to the owner. She was incredibly nice and accommodating. read more

The Milled Olive is the best Oil, Balsamic, Specialty Foods, Gift Store, I have ever been too. The selection holds something for everyone. You can spend a lot time in the store looking at all the merchandise. The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful. Everything I have purchased from there has been very good. The location is convenient, right off 44, with ample parking. I am very glad they are in Star, I intend to go back to do some Christmas shopping! read more

NOT WORTH THE VISIT! This place is a hodgepodge of clutter. The owner was nice but knew nothing about olive oil. And all the olive oil had NO FLAVOR. I asked questions that couldn't be answered and then he went in the back and never came back. WHAT??? I'll pass. read more

Hands down the best new shop in Star. I have been there several time and enjoy the experience of shopping in this unique place. I love to cook and everything I have tried elevates the meal to simply amazing. The selection of rubs, oils and specialty items will turn an ordinary cook into a chef. My husband and I love this store and have bought numerous oils, vinegars, spices and gifts. We enjoy cooking and their products have enhanced several of our meals. We use their spices to season the meat before we put it on the smoker and their BBQ sauce once we take it off. I've used their flavored oils to season cauliflower steaks that I roast in the oven. Their bread mixes are easy to make and loved by us and all our guests. I have found numerous wonderful gifts for friends and never leaves without a little something for myself. We went into the store when the whole Covid-19 thing started and were blown away with the selection of not only olive oil but bread mixes, soup mixes and pastas.
