I was interested in a small dining table and told her that I preferred a "white glove service", so the table would be put together for my daughter upon arrival. She said it was not a problem, but that it was expensive. I was fine with that and asked for the service. It came up less expensive than she thought on her computer and shrugged it off as a discount and put the order through, handing me my receipt, which I left with. Weeks later, my daughter said she had called about rescheduling the delivery for when we should be home, but they weren't able to do that, or that she would be called prior to delivery and at that point, would be able to reschedule, which made no sense to me, so I decided to call since I was the original purchaser of the table - my name was on the receipt. When I called, there seemed to be a lot of confusion about where my order was and where it was going. After being put on lengthy holds multiple times, the gentlemen who was helping me told me that white glove service is not available for the item I purchased and he wasn't sure why I was told that. Well, neither was I! Long story short (or shorter) is that they had to cancel my order and I had to reorder it to change the delivery dates, and that wasn't even very specific. It changed again on it's own and fortunately, it worked out to when my daughter was home, but I expected more from this company. The sales person should have been better trained at the store, and the shipping delivery should have been easier to change. I mean, people work and go out of town and have lives. I honestly really like West Elm products and the people who work in their stores. I've never had a poor experience in the past, but maybe I never had a reason to really use their customer care line. It was complicated, to say the least. I still recommend their products, but cross your fingers that everything works out on the delivery end. If you can take it home yourself, then you probably should.

You can tell that she is so thoughtful with every single thing she sells in her store. The items are beautiful year-round, and I especially love what they have to offer during Christmastime.
