I've been to the Milk Barn a few times now and it's always really busy (if possible avoid on weekends and school holidays, unless you just want some ice cream to take away).
On the couple of occasions when we've been able to get a table the food is always delicious, with generous portions. Be aware though, if it's busy expect a bit of a wait, even if you've just ordered a sandwich.
The menu is small, offering sandwiches, toasties, paninis and baked potatoes - they also offer breakfast earlier in the day - and like I said earlier it's always delicious. Everything is served with a side salad, homemade coleslaw and a small portion of crisps - well worth the money (around £5 for a panini). They also offer a range of home baking, which also looks great!
The star of the show at the milk barn though is the ice cream! Since the Milk Barn is on a dairy farm you can actually see the cows outside that the milk comes from and you can watch them come down the hill to go in to be milked at certain points in the day. There's also a window into the part of the kitchen where the ice cream is made so you can watch if you wish. With a huge range of ice cream flavours, even if you're not an ice cream fan I dare you to be able to say no! Rafaello, orange and whisky, toffee crisp, carrot cake and tablet to name a few!
If you're ever in the area get along here if only to sit in the car and enjoy the view with a delicious ice cream! read more
