I had sandwiches at the Midway. I share sandwiches with kiddos. They cut the 4way so kids can eat easily. Staffs were fast and friendly. And we had amazing experience at the Midway. We were seated huge open windows area which you can see outside gig Harbor downtown street view. It was raining day so they didn't open the windows but when weather gets better they open the windows so you can feel the outside vibe as well.

I live in Gig Harbor and this is newer to our area, which is just a pleasant surprise when it opened as a café! There are not a lot of of this type of eateries in GH so was excited to try! I feel the service is really good, but did feel a bit rushed out. The people are very friendly that work there and very accommodating even though it can be pretty busy. It's in a prime location and it's not that big so it's going to get crowded because like I said, it's a unique place to our area. The atmosphere is really nice. I love that the open windows on the front allow you to people watch! I wish there were more than four seat seats to do this though! You walk in waiting in line grab a menu and order at the counter, they give you a number and you are seated where you like if there are any seats left, seems to clear out here and there though! I like that they have a self-serve water station, and a cute little coffee bar in the back. The bathrooms are really nice, and clean. I ordered a turkey sandwich with a jalapeño aïoli, and it was delicious!! I do think the sandwiches are kind of on the smaller side for the price, but they are very good and it is a new up-and-coming place so I get it. The sandwiches come with chips so thats nice. I will be back. I want to try another sandwich or two. The selections are very unique which I love!!

Amazing service--everyone was so friendly and welcoming, food came out fast too. Both meals were delicious, especially the salad! It also feels so big in here now! Nice and bright and open. Restrooms were nice and clean as well. We will definitely be back!

What a charming café with a warm, relaxing, and inviting atmosphere. It was wonderful to see everyone enjoying their time together, and we certainly did as well. The food was served quickly and the customer service was exceptional from start to finish. The staff was genuinely friendly, attentive, and welcoming, making the entire experience feel effortless and enjoyable. A lovely place to gather, unwind, and enjoy good company--we look forward to returning.

The butter croissant was very good. The chocolate croissant however, was dry and disappointing.

I know they do not have regular open hours for just walk in purchase, but rather, they're custom order type business, but I have yet to place any custom orders so I cannot speak to that experience. What made me write this review is how accurate the owner (Brianne) described cake and desserts in the description and the baked goods taste matched 200% of the description. The pistachio cake was out of the world, so was the whoopie pie!!! I got to meet Brianne in person and she was very friendly, and was kind to explain everything about each of her baked goods she had out that day. I've tried their baked goods from pop tarts to cookies to housemade Twinkie and the creation and taste are unmatched. Single serve baked goods were more on pricier side, but well worth every bite. I would definitely order custom baked goods from here, knowing the quality and taste of products from this shop!!! Currently, you can find Spilled Butter baked goods at Cosmonaut coffee, Outer Dark Coffee, and at Tacoma Farmers Market (also known as Tacoma Broadway Farmers Market) from time to time. Enjoy!!!

When we walked up to the checkout, the cashier and the employee bagging groceries were engaged in a conversation and laughing together. We completely understand that employees interact with one another, but once customers are at the register, they should feel acknowledged. Unfortunately, neither employee looked up, smiled, greeted us, or said a single word during the transaction. The only thing the cashier said was while handing me the receipt, and it was so quiet I couldn't even understand what was said. The lack of even basic acknowledgment made us feel like an interruption rather than valued customers. Metropolitan Market has always had a reputation for exceptional service, which is why this experience was so surprising and disappointing. I hope this was simply an isolated incident, but it's something management should be aware of.

The cutting cake was so beautiful - literally the cake of my dreams and prettier than any Pinterest photo. We ordered the V GF orange cake with Bavarian cream. I ate 3 pieces the night of our wedding!!! Seriously the best cake we've ever had. We also ordered 3 sheet cakes of the regular (non vegan/gf) chocolate, white, and lemon. The cake was almost gone by the end of the night and we had multiple guests ask where it was from because of how good it was. The tasting experience was fun and the staff were very nice/helpful with recommendations and questions. Thank you Corina for my dream wedding cake

The floral arrangements and product displays were clearly designed with great care. All the items are wrapped in plastic wrap to keep them fresh. The shop is quite spacious, and the interesting paintings on the walls really leave an impression. All of this plays a huge role in building up their customer base. Service: The signage inside is clear, and everyone lines up in an orderly way. The staff is warm and welcoming, and they even asked if I wanted my bread warmed up. The order came out very fast--overall, a great service experience. Taste: I ordered two pastries: an almond croissant and a chocolate croissant. The almond croissant was packed with ingredients, with a thick, rich layer of processed almond filling in the middle. The texture was great--highly recommended! However, the chocolate croissant was a total disaster!!! My first bite was actually satisfying; the chocolate flavor and texture were rich. But on my second bite, I realized... it was underbaked. So disappointing.

This place is life changing, mine anyway. It's right here in Tacoma. Parking is street parking but easy enough if you head out early. The inside of this epic brick establishment looks as if it were there for years but it's fresh and new. Laureen, the owner, greeted my husband and I, the first time we tried it. She is the sweetest and so down to earth. Expect a long line because this place is amazing. The cashiers are all so patient and you never feel rushed. I love that so much, especially when you're new to a spot. We ordered some kolachees, personal sized quiches focaccia and cinnamon rolls. They were so delicious. I'm so impressed. I've been back a few times and plan to return. I've even recommended it to my friends in Seattle as well. I heard that people from all over Washington come to buy. It's THAT good. I'm so grateful to have this so close to me.

After checking in, I would suggest waiting to go up as your whole party. I went up without my friend, who was in the restroom, and they, at first, wouldn't let her come up without another group needing to come up. I had all her things so I had no way of knowing and was waiting for her up on the rooftop for quite some time. The dinner was good. I tried the focaccia, feta dip and crostini, the braised short ribs, and the double chocolate skillet cookie. The foccacia was good but I wish there had been butter or maybe oil and vinegar. It was a bit plain on its own but my friend ate it with her lasagna so it worked out. I really enjoyed the feta dip. It was quite tasty. I know crostinis are supposed to be hard but I found it to be too hard. I really enjoyed the braised short ribs. The meat was tender and was well seasoned. I liked the mashed potatoes which weren't perfectly smooth which is something I prefer and there was a little bit of potato skin. I wish there had been just a tad more sauce for the potatoes. The double chocolate chiller cookie was so good especially if you're a fan of chocolate. It was rich but too sweet and the ice cream that came with it was delicious as well that was slightly coconutty. There is kind of a time limit for your reservation as they ask you to limit your time to 90 minutes on their website. We came on a Friday night and they had live music which was such a great vibe for the rooftop. Because you're outside, I would recommend bringing a coat or something just in case.
