The underside was waxed anyway. When I followed up, the owner explained that shaping is required with brow lamination and that avoiding the underside is not something they do because it does not meet their standards. My issue is that this was not explained to me before the service began. If my request could not be accommodated, I should have been told so I could decide whether to continue. I requested a refund, but it was denied because the service was completed and their policy says services are non-refundable. Overall, this was disappointing. For me, the issue was communication and feeling like a clear boundary I stated before the appointment was not honored.

I genuinely don't understand when walk-ins are actually accepted if an empty salon still requires an appointment. More importantly, I specifically asked for a cleanup. To me, that means removing the excess hair above and below my brows while keeping my existing shape. Instead, my entire shape was changed, including my arch and tails. That is absolutely not what I asked for, and I'm extremely annoyed because eyebrows take time to grow back. There also seemed to be a communication barrier. I had difficulty feeling confident that what I was requesting was fully understood, and unfortunately the end result confirmed that concern. If a client asks for a cleanup, please clarify exactly what they want before significantly changing the shape of their eyebrows. I've been a regular customer, which makes this even more disappointing. I came in expecting my usual cleanup and walked out with brows I did not ask for. I wanted to post an update because I've gotten a few questions about my brows recently; I've been…read moreasked if I'm still happy, and if I would recommend Simplicity Brow Studio. The answer is yes, I am, and yes, I would! Obviously, as time goes on, the hair strokes fade and I need to fill in here and there. However, I am happy with the natural shape because it is so easy to fill in when needed. (Courtney followed the way my hair naturally grows-- my only request was that my brows look "natural," and she worked her magic. Looking back, I realize now how vague that request was. LOL oops. She came through though!) But what makes me confident in her practice is the way the ink fades into a natural color. I've had absolutely no issue with the color fading red, like I did with my previous microblading artist. I can say I am 100% confident that Courtney knows and cares about what she is doing. For reference, I *unfortunately* have extremely oily skin. From my understanding, this causes the microblading strokes to fade faster. I still think this service is worth it, though.
