I wanted to post an update because I've gotten a few questions about my brows recently; I've been asked if I'm still happy, and if I would recommend Simplicity Brow Studio. The answer is yes, I am, and yes, I would! Obviously, as time goes on, the hair strokes fade and I need to fill in here and there. However, I am happy with the natural shape because it is so easy to fill in when needed. (Courtney followed the way my hair naturally grows-- my only request was that my brows look "natural," and she worked her magic. Looking back, I realize now how vague that request was. LOL oops. She came through though!) But what makes me confident in her practice is the way the ink fades into a natural color. I've had absolutely no issue with the color fading red, like I did with my previous microblading artist. I can say I am 100% confident that Courtney knows and cares about what she is doing. For reference, I *unfortunately* have extremely oily skin. From my understanding, this causes the microblading strokes to fade faster. I still think this service is worth it, though. Beware! Unprofessional, disorganized, and they contradict themselves online as well as over the phone. Communication is poor and questions will be avoided or frankly, ignored, as was present in her replies during our text exchange. Had an appt scheduled for April 1st, 2021. Initial consult was over the phone on January 5, 2021 at 915AM PST. During the phone consult my medical condition was disclosed and discussed. It was not a concern, so the appt was scheduled. I was looking forward to this for months and am highly disappointed at the level of disregard. A friend referred me and her brows look phenomenal, but it was not disclosed how unprofessional this business is ran. This morning, Courtney from Simplicity Brow has been in touch with me via text advising me that my medical condition requires a drs note. I asked her why and she informed me it was a requirement for her liability insurance. I requested the forms to have a doctor fill them out, but she does not utilize any specific standard forms. I asked about whether my health information would be protected and she avoided answering my question. At that point she began informing me it may be best to find an "artist" that can work with somebody that doesn't want to submit a doctors note. I never once stated I wouldn't provide one, I simply asked basic questions to understand their businesses process. Processes that should be in place prior to ever requesting PHI from a client. I made a appointment and it took twelve weeks to see "Courtney" she would not do my eyebrows because I am too old and went through menopause. If I would have knownI would not have even made an appointment. Also there is nothing on her website regarding being "older" she should had a pre-qualified paperwork to fill out, so people don't get very very disappointed. I have never been treated so unfairly, this person did not know how to work with my brows. When I told her they were too thick she told me that they would shrink and for me to wait for a touch up to fix them.She also responded that she had hundreds of satisfied customers and one unsatisfied customer was not going to hurt her or her business. When I asked if she can erase lines that did not belong there, her response was just to wait and see. Not to menton that my eyebrows were uneven one was higher than the other and she shaved most of my left eyebrow off which was unnecessary. This is permanent ink on my face I have the right to be upset. I have to go to lazer treatments to get this removed and its her fault. When I told her I was unhappy with my eyebrows and did not feel it was fair to pay her 400 dollars for a bad job, she told me I was paying for her time and supplies, thats not how you treat customers. Especially first time customers. She knew she messed up my eyebrows and still tried charging me. I hope people do their research this person does not work good with full brows that have spots. She said I did this to myself, why would I scar or hurt my face in this way. That makes no sense. I don't recommend this place. I feel like you don't get what you are asking for. I originally booked a combo because I like the makeup look and when I got to my appointment Courtney kept saying "I personally don't like it." So I listened to her since she is the professional. Later that same day I noticed my eyebrows were off and she told me to give it time to heal and we can fix and add more at my touch up appointment. When I showed up to my touch up appointment I brought up that I liked the makeup look and wanted to do the combo and again she said "I personally don't like it." I didn't push the issue because I was getting the impression that she just didn't want to do it. After my second appointment I still noticed my eyebrows were not matching and she asked me to wait another 8 weeks to add or adjust. I showed up to my third appointment and she was late. I made sure I pointed out everything that needed to be fixed and again brought up the makeup look because I don't want to add eyebrow pencil when I do my makeup. She told me if I wanted the combo I would need to reschedule again and even if I have my eyebrows micro bladed I will still always have to put makeup on them. At this point I was just wanted my eyebrows to match and said let's just fix what we can today. I was about ten minutes into my appointment and someone walked in and said your next appointment is here, so I felt like she was rushing from her being late. Further, When I was explaining that the middle is uneven she told me that is hard to fix because of her "dominant hand." However, I've seen the work she has done on others and I don't see that issue with them. I waited a really long time to get my eyebrows done and went to Courtney because my best friend went to her so I felt comfortable. I went to another place to see if they can fix my eyebrows and they said I have to wait for them to fade before they can work on me. For the first time in 26 years, I felt confident enough to leave the house without putting makeup on my eyebrows. Disclaimer: I have fair skin, super dark hair and my eyebrows are grayish/soft black. They are pretty damaged and not thick at all, and the front of my right eyebrow is almost nonexistent and nearly bald (accident with fire). They're so embarrassing, I've never been able to show anyone. Even living with ex boyfriends I still felt compelled to wear makeup on them even while I slept. I've had previous microblading done from another studio in Glendale, CA in 2016 and I hated it. So I found out about Courtney doing an Instagram search. And based on her pictures, everything looked legit. I'm keloid prone, so I tend to do a lot of research when doing any procedure that has to do with my body. I've never gotten my brows microbladed, so I decided to give it a try. I figured I'd go for a consultation, and if I'm not feeling it, I'll decline and just continue drawing it in, lol. My consultation went very well. Courtney was very informative and personable. She was realistic and told me that everyone's results would be different. I was very concerned at first because it looked uneven after a few days. My brows literally went through weird stages. The first day it looked too dark. Then by day two it looked flakey. Then the third or fourth day I was like, "What the hell is wrong with my brows?!?!" But now I'm 6 weeks in and it looks amazing!!! I'm supposed to go for my touch up, and I honestly don't know what more there is to do. It's so natural looking. I will say that I feel that me being darker-skinned and already having a good amount of hair helped a lot. I feel that the lighter you are, the more irritated it looks during the healing process. And the less hair you have, the faker it looks. But I'm no professional, so I may be wrong. But as for my brows, I am VERY pleased. The only thing I wish is that she was able to numb me via a needle as opposed to the topical appointment. We had to stop a few times for her to renumb me because I felt the little prickling.
