I recently went for a dinner to celebrate my friend at the Melting Pot, and it's definitely an experience that leans more toward interactive dining than a traditional night out. I like the intimate, cozy setting with semi private booth. The staff did a great job explaining our options. We all enjoyed our cocktails. The fondue experience is amazing and I truly loved the cheese course. It's fun preparing it at the table. The entrée was a bit more of a mixed experience for me. While cooking your own protein is fun, it was not really for me personally. My friend and I chose the grilling option, and the other 2 people at our table opted for the oil cooking method and that's where it lost me a bit. Between the lingering grease smell and the heat from grilling, it became slightly uncomfortable for me. To be fair, I seemed to be the only one at the table who felt this way. For dessert we had the chocolate fondue, absolutely worth it. Ending the night melting chocolate and dipping desserts felt like the perfect finale and my favorite part of the experience. Visited the melting pot last night for a sweet treat - chocolate fondue. While we had no issues and experienced great service I think the restaurant is a bit outdated and overpriced. The fondue experience for 2 is $26 and while it is an experience I still feel it's overpriced for what you get. We ordered the Flaming Turtle and it came with a variety of dippers (strawberries, banana, brownie pieces, waffle pieces and some other items) our server was amazing and checked on us to see if we needed additional dippers for our chocolate. Our server was excellent...super attentive and even brought out extra dipping treats for the chocolate fondue. I was sad they didn't have the Dubai chocolate fondue but there were several chocolate flavor options to choose from, and everything comes perfectly melted and ready to enjoy so rich and delicious. Expensive for a family of 5. Had to buy the kids fondu too even though they're little and could have just shared with us... (waiter said they hat to get it if we were getting it). We get to the bar and are greeted with the Valentine pre fix menu with no price. Fine no happy hour $6.00 isn't really a deal anyways but we couldn't even order a single cheese and chocolate. And there was no substitutions allowed and for someone who doesn't eat meat the two option wouldn't work. There were a lot of guests upset. I love going to the Melting Pot during my birthday month, because in addition to an always-amazing meal, you get to take home six chocolate dipped strawberries (if you're a rewards member and you let them know in advance). I've loved the Melting Pot ever since I tried my first dessert fondue at their Gainesville location back in college in 2003. My first fondue was the Flaming Turtle, and it's still my go-to dessert order today. However, I have to say that this Dubai Chocolate fondue - which was their special for August - may be in the running. I really hope they decided to either keep this on the menu beyond August (or that they bring it back) because it's truly incredible! To balance out the chocolate, I enjoyed the house salad and the Brie and bacon cheese fondue (minus the bacon to make it vegetarian friendly), and my friends enjoyed the cheese fondue and the entree course. I love that you can mix and match here, either doing a full four-course or picking and choosing what feels good that evening. The service, as always, was fantastic. The servers were friendly and helpful, and they made it a lovely birthday experience for my friends and I. I go to Melting Pot for all my special occasions, so I'll be back soon! read more

The melting pot happy hour is super fun! We went on a double date here and got cheese and dessert. We had such a good time we ended up bringing family back with us about a week later. I will start with the setting, it is perfect for a romantic evening and for hanging out with friends, it is a rather versatile spot in my opinion. The staff is courteous and fun, they make the cheese and chocolate dips right in front of you, we got a kick out of watching and talking to them as they made it. They also provide lots of dippers and you can request more of any dipping item without extra charge. The cheese was delicious, and for desert we did plain dark chocolate and it was fantastic. My only reservations from a 5/5 review is that their normal prices are very high, I will only be coming for happy hour due to this. read more

I've been to this location so many times, since moving to Tampa in 1989-including twice in 2025 (so far!!!) It's cozy, with some romantic corners with dim lighting... and brighter booths for family birthdays and get togethers with friends. You'll need time... even if you're not doing the full four course dinner-you'll want to take your time. With burners on each table, the cheese and chocolate fondues (and there are several to choose from, of each) are stirred and melted right there in front of you. There are all kinds of dippers to go with them-from bread, apples and veggies for cheese, to bananas and marshmallows for chocolate (and so much more) and you can ask for extras or customize your selection have more of some dippers than others. You can also order the entrees-meats cooked in various liquids, from mojo to oil, in pots right there on the table. If you're doing the four course deal, you can also choose a salad (there are a few to choose from). As of July 2025, it's $120 for 2. I'm usually there with a group and we tend to order 2-3 cheeses (good ol' Alpine is my fave) and 2 chocolates. (I love the flaming turtle-and really want to try the burnt orange) Yeah, it's indulgent... but it's one of a kind-in both food and experience. I'm all in. And despite staff changing out and such, it's always been our favorite location. Everyone is always so nice and the food is always fresh and good. I've been a fan of The Melting Pot for a long time, but I had not been in years because none of them are that close to me anymore. However, I was recently in Switzerland and had some "real" Swiss fondue and decided to come back. Interestingly, The Melting Pot compares very favorably to Swiss fondue, in my opinion. The Swiss cheeses are wonderful, but the variety of fondue options is much less. Traditional cheese fondue in Zurich comes only with bread and potatoes. We visited The Melting Pot to celebrate an anniversary and we had a great time. The menu was much as I remembered with a nice selection of cheese appetizers; salads; land, sea and vegetable main courses; and chocolate desserts. The price was reasonable for today--about $120 for two people without drinks. If you go with a group of 4 you might want to request a table with two burners instead of one --- we had to ask to be moved after we were sat. Two burners is a better experience for 4 people and allows for more variety of menu selections. read more

Great service, to be honest, I am not a huge fan of this style of food. I loved the cheese and bananas foster fondue, but the main course is really underwhelming for me. I am used to cooking my own food in hot pot style so getting thick chunks of meat where I had to constantly guess if it was cooked through took the ease out of the experience. The broth is also not super flavorful or exciting and the ingredients you get to cook in the broth just feel like regular smaller portions of food you could have made at home for a fraction of the cost. 3.4 stars. The melting pot is a fun restaurant to go to with a group of friends to enjoy cheese and chocolate fondue. The service was impeccable, and our server was wonderful. My real problem with the restaurant is the concept. Why is the restaurant so dark? Why are the spaces so cramped? Why are we boiling steak, pork and chicken in a medieval cauldron or overcooking it in boiling oil? It is the most ridiculous method of cooking that I've ever seen for this type of food. It's Asian hotpot for pretentious rich white people seeking a nostalgic trip back to the '70s. The results of the cooking are pretty mediocre, even with the variety of moderately tasty sauces that the clientele here probably finds adventurous. Cost is another factor for a poor rating: this meal should not cost $200 after tax and tip for a couple. I will say that the cheese and chocolate fondue does taste delicious...but the price is excessive. It's very clear that this is an experience restaurant. They very much play up to whatever event or celebration you're having, and make sure you feel very special about it. In summary, go here for a good time to celebrate a special occasion with mediocre expensive fare. Just watch your step in the dark and don't bring any claustrophobic friends. read more

So we decided to try their "Wednesday Night Special Meltout." We chose the cheese, salad and chocolate combo for $44. We had the Wisconsin cheese fondue that came with bread apples and fresh vegis, and for a new treat they have "toppers" to add even more flavor to each delicious bite. The cheese was incredible and we had so much fun talking, dipping, rolling and eating. The California salad was fresh and flavorful with a lovely vinaigrette dressing. We then chose the milk chocolate fondue for dipping an array of fruit, cakes, brownies and marshmallows. The dessert also came with lots of different "toppers" like pretzel pieces, rainbow sprinkles and Oreo pieces. Everything was just perfect! Dinner and something fun to do while chatting away makes the whole experience one to remember. First time at The Melting Pot here in Florida. I have been to the on in Columbus, OH many times. The wife and I went during the Valentine Day week, so they offer a different menu. But you are able to substitute as needed. They set up some decorations for the holiday, leaving fake rose petals everywhere and fake candles to help set the mood. We ordered the spinach artichoke fondue starter. This came with bread, carrots, cauliflower, green apple and chips. First time having this fondue and what a great flavor. Plus they made this fresh right in front of us. Don't be surprised when I tell you the apple with cheese is some of the best flavor profile you will ever taste. Also had a ceases salad. Nothing special outside they add pine nuts to the salad. For the entree we got the MoJo as both the wife and I love the flavor of this broth. It's slightly winey but not in your face. The valentine special comes with chicken, 2 types of steak, shrimp, salmon and a potsticker. All of which was prepared perfectly. Last we went for the dark chocolate fondue, you can go wrong with this as you get so many things to dip into it. My personal favorite is the Oreo covered marshmallow. I'm not even a huge chocolate lover but this is always my goto dessert. Once again The Melting Pot outdoes themselves again. The Basics: The Melting Pot is a fondue-style restaurant where there is a cheese fondue appetizer, followed by a fondue cooking style course to cook meats, seafoods, and vegetables, and lastly a chocolate fondue course. I love the Melting Pot, but I may be biased. I have been coming to the Melting Pot ever since I was a kid, so there is a certainly a special place in my heart for this fondue meal. Things I like: Is the food the very best quality and the most flavorful? No. Do I still think it is delicious? Yes, every time. I love the food at the Melting Pot and enjoy that you can get as much as you want of the dipping items for your cheese and chocolate entrees. For the cheese fondue, I always choose the Classic Alpine and love it. For the entree fondue, I choose the Court Bouillon cooking style and order the shrimp, chicken breast, filet, and I add on the chicken potstickers and mushroom ravioli. I love the Green Goddess and Gorgonzola dipping sauces. For the chocolate fondue, you can't go wrong with any of the choices, but I particularly like the S'mores. The service at the Melting Pot is always good and the atmosphere of the restaurant is cozy and makes the meal feel special. I also appreciate how it is always easy to make a reservation online. The cheese fondue was great BUT we were given more bread than veggies AND they forgot our bff dippers of meat so we were disappointed when we realized after finishing our cheese . This is my first time visiting this location and I didn't like it nearly as much as the Pittsburgh location. First, it's a dark, dreary restaurant with little rooms everywhere. Second, there were 4 of us and we shared one fondue pot. I thought it was odd when we sat down, but as the meal continued, I really didn't like it. Our server was a gem. She explained the menu well, and answered all our questions. I ordered a raspberry lemon mojito and although it looked really nice, it was so sweet I didn't enjoy it. My husband and I shared a Big Night Out Dinner, which includes a cheese fondue, with bread, pretzel bread, apples, and vegetables to dip. I mentioned earlier that we had to share the fondue pot with our friend, so that meant we had to agree on the same cheese. We did the Wisconsin Cheddar, which was good, but I probably would have done something else had we been able to choose our own. Everything is very filling, so you need to pace yourself as there were 3 more courses coming. Next, I ordered the Caesar salad, which was delicious. This salad had pine nuts, which is not something I ever had on a Caesar salad, but they added a nice flavor. The size was perfect. Our entree arrived next. There was so much food, with the filet, salmon, shrimp, chicken, teriyaki beef, potatoes, mushrooms and broccoli. We used the coq au vin cooking style in our pot for cooking our proteins. They also provide you with 6 different sauces which were very good. Lastly, dessert. We did the yin, yang fondue and they provided us with brownies, blondies, donuts, rice crispy treats, strawberries and bananas. Again, so much food. Everything was yummy. Overall, nice experience but I really didn't care for the atmosphere. Sharing the fondue pot was a total pain because there were too many skewers in at one time.
