This was my first time at Texas de Brazil and it was exactly how people describe it to me. Unlimited meat and salad buffet until you're stuffed! I did go during lunch time so the menu might've been limited but nevertheless still great. The restaurant was busy at its lunch hours but we're still accommodating. It was a dark moody vibe there. The server comes and ask if it's your first time dinning and also asks you how you want your meat cooked. The servers then come around with different types of meat to choose from. Our server was really nice and made sure our group was take care of. The salad bar was amazing and full of different choices. I really liked the churrasco cooked in medium. Desserts is served À la carte if you're up to it. Now were the steaks great? I think they're great for the price point. It's expensive, but delicious. Costco usually has a deal on gift cards where it's $180 for $200 worth of GC, so you save $20. You may think will I really spend $200 there? Yes, yes you will. My younger son is 4. It's only $5 for kids between the age of 3 and 5, which is an insanely good deal. My older son is 7 so his cost is half the price of the adult. With the adult price being $60 that's not worth it to us (I'm sure I'd feel differently if he was a big eater.) It used to be the just salad bar price wasn't that much less expensive than the full price. Now the price is like half. So since I love mainly the salad bar, I stuck with that. This means for lunch on a Sunday for me (salad bar), my husband (full price), my son ($5) and two non alcoholic drinks ($9), plus tax and tip it came out to close to $150. I'm not usually one to shy away from expensive meals but this was a bit pricey to me. Since my younger son loves meat and thoroughly enjoyed the experience I'll do it, but this is a treat, not an every day thing. The salad bar was spectacular as always. I love the scalloped potatoes and lobster bisque. I also eat my fill of smoked salmon. My husband and son enjoyed the meat. Parking is always a pain on the Texas de Brazil side, so I parked on the Kona grill side and walked. Service is always great here. They come by to make sure you got all the meat you wanted. Normally when we go we have a good time, but unfortunately this last visit was not good. We receded over in the corner, the servers with the meats bypassed us all night. We had to ask the server several times for somebody to bring us some food. The end of the evening we addressed this with the manager and he replied saying "well we have two big parties in the back so apparently we forgot your area over here." That is totally unacceptable. We translate that into I guess we are just not as important as big parties. Not sure if we will visit this location again. read more

First time I've been to this spot. It's Father's Day so of course they were busy, but all the meat was always coming out hot. It's a very nice restaurant, with low lighting seating inside and bright lighting outside. We chose to sit outside and were so glad we did. We were seated closely to the fan(s) and we were cool the whole meal. They offer a full salad buffet, and charcuterie selection; they also have a "Hot" plate self serve buffet. What was confusing to me; was the process of the eating part, and it wasn't explained correctly. We were told the buffet would be where we get our "sides" so we grabbed them and sat at our table. As soon as we sat down all the protein l (meats) came out rapidly, from Bacon Wrapped Chicken l, to a Filet Mignon from all the meat servers, pretty much in 5 min increments, and that is totally fine, just overwhelming. After I got done eating (which I thought was everything we already ate) was told, our "sides" were coming out; which was garlic mashed potatoes, fries and fried bananas. -All delicious, but we were stuffed at this point. Drinks were delicious, but they came out very slow. Trying to pay and leave is delayed. Again, it's a holiday so there is grace from my experience. I'm in the area, so I decided to dine at one of my favorite restaurants. This location for Texas de Brazil is definitely one of a kind. Wilson was our waiter, and he was super nice and attentive. I love the salad bar, so I didn't eat any meat. My husband loves both, so he had the salad bar and the full course with all the meats and salad bar. I don't do well with all you can eat. Lol! I eat once and get really full. My husband ate pork, chicken, steak and sausage. Everything was lovely, and we're definitely full. We will be back, soon. :-) read more

This is a "Must Go To"! The experience is fun- you have a salad bar with a yummy variety of salads, meat and cheese (think charcuterie). Your meat is delivered by people walking around with it on skewers. There was lamb, chicken, filet minion and flank steak. (There was others but I didn't try them) The sides were fries, garlic mash and cinnamon sugar bananas. The garlic mash was amazing! Dessert - they have a large variety to choose from. We had the crème brûlée- another hit. Soo good Service was perfect! Dominique was on top of everything! We didn't have to ask for anything she was on it before we had to. We ate here on Christmas Eve. We had a reservation for 4:45 pm and got seated right away when we arrived. It is a big restaurant with lots of seating, although it did seem crowded due to the number of tables. The salad bar was excellent- everything was fresh and tasted great. The chimichurri was absolutely delicious on the grilled meats. They had lobster bisque which was creamy and great. The black beans were delicious. The only meat I didn't care for was the spicy sirloin because it was very chewy and the lamb chops were overcooked. But otherwise the meats were wonderful. The quality of the meat seemed much better than my previous visits that were spread out over a number years. And that is why one goes to this place. Service was prompt and efficient as the servers go from table to table offering a wide variety of meat. The place is very popular with no empty tables which is good for them, but bad for you...it is incredibly noisy. The tables seemed a little closer to me versus earlier visits...and while the ambiance is nice, it is diminished by all the noise. So bring your ear plugs and enjoy the great food! I almost forgot, the full meal is $63 while salad bar is about half that. Yep, took my wife and daughter-in-law out to this place while visiting in Tampa. We will definitely go to this place again. Actually, we're already planning to check out the one in West Palm as it's much closer to where we live. What I really like besides the food, ambiance, service, etc is that they had patrons there dressed casually, even in shorts and tees. But the staff were all decked out. Was really nice. Felt like a celebrity. And the salad bar was effing AWESOME. Then the meats... just kept coming. Leg of lamb, lamb chops, sirloin tips, filet mignon, roasted parmigiana chicken, etc etc etc. Everything was delicious. Our virgin pina colodas were top notch. Smooth and creamy. The price is up there. Was $249 for three people plus the tip. But it was WORTH IT. You're going to eat too much and the quality of meats is way up. Prepared extremely well. Would have been a lot more if we'd gotten alcoholic drinks. But we're not drinkers so didn't get hit with the prices. If you want to have a wonderful dining experience and even dress in your shorts and tees shirt, just go. Splurge. My husband's birthday and picked this place because he is a meat eater. Parking would have been tough but they have valet and everything good. They have our reservation so we head to the bar to wait for our friends who are on the way. The bar is small and very very bright. LED lights shining in your face and very annoying to say the least. Not there long and dining area looks much better. We got our table and our waiter was very nice. Took drink orders but they don't have a menu and no one really tells you how it works, what the price per person? Anyway, salad bar looks great and is huge. Everything was nice and cold and dressings fresh. We get back to the table and see the carvers doing the meat. The first sirloin I got was great. Nice and rare but honestly not much favor as far as spices. Next Filet mignon. Looking forward to it but it was dry like a hockey puck and terrible. Next leg of lamb. That was by far the best and very yummy. Lastly I got the beef ribs. Tasted like stew meat. Stringy and really no favor and very dry. We got the key lime pie to finish and it was very good. Got the bill. $7 bud light. Yeingling was cheaper. Prices not bad for all you can eat. $127 for two for dinner. Drinks extra. So I think the total was about $150 before tip. Wish the meat was better. First time here! Love the location! It's been awhile since I've been down to this area. Everyone was very attentive throughout the whole visit. The salad bar had a great presentation and lots of options. It was confusing that you had to get a plate from the salad bar to start getting meat, but it all made sense after. The restaurant service was exceptional but it was hardly worth what I paid. Meats were not cooked as noted-for instance, med is not blood red and dripping blood. Chicken was overcooked and offered more than any other protein. Vegetable selection was good but a lot of starches (rice, potatoes) Not a lot of hot vegetables-like broccoli, asparagus, etc. Dessert choice was the banana pie?! So bad (dry, imitation banana flavor-not a real banana anywhere!!) I couldn't finish it. I threw most of it away!! So-bottom line-three people. $325 for dinner($275 plus tip) and it wasn't worth it. I have to say I'm a regular here. I come when I need to get my meat fix. I actually buy there VIP card yearly which overs you a great discount on the price of your meal. Each year when it's offered management donates part of the cost to a national charity which is really nice gesture. I usually request Wilson as my server but he was off the other night when we went. The food was delicious and I have to say the service was impressive! Servers cover for your main server and management came over three times during dinner to ask how the meal was going and to see if there were any special cuts we'd like out of the kitchen. I really think Texas de Brasil should get higher ratings than yelp lists. Great place to celebrate a special occasion. read more

It is always a fun experience coming here! With so many meats to try, you barely have the time or stomach space to try them all. But the various cuts are all executed pretty well. I also love the salad bar that they have! Depending on my mood, I sometimes have more of a craving for their salad bar than the meats. But that is ok. It is an option for you to just go for the salad bar if you want. Service is solid and the ambiance is nice and fitting for a special occasion. The service was not great as we got passed several times and waited up to 20 minutes for meat to come to our table even with all green tickets up. The salad bar is ok I loved the potato gratin but that's the only thing I loved. The fries brought to the table were cold. Overall I would not dine here again. Many moons ago, I used to eat at one of these nearly every month. I had an ex whose parents (ahem - his dad specifically) were obsessed with this chain, so whenever family time came around, this was where we went. To say I got sick and tired of Texas de Brazil is the understatement of the century. I don't remember how long exactly it's been since I stopped frequenting this rodizio, but it's been between 5 to 10 years, with the time being closer to 10 years. That said, in talking to my boss one day, after all this time, the craving hit to finally return to this lovely abode. Now I had never been to the one in Tampa, but I figured it couldn't be very different from other locations and I was indeed correct. Given prior experience and reviews I read, I made a reservation and I suggest you do the same. We went the day before Independence Day and they were packed. Laura, a Colombian from Bogotá (yes, I remember these things as we had plenty of conversation with her), was our waitress, and she was amazing. She made sure to get our drinks, sides, and dessert on time, with the added bonus of making sure our favorite cuts of meat visited the table. In other words, filet mignon and leg of lamb. All that said, the concept of this place is pretty simple. They have a salad bar with just about everything. Meat, cheese, bread, soup, you get the idea. You grab some food from there for your appetizers, but don't fill up. You're there for the meat. They give you a little token to flip, letting the staff know you're ready for the meat to pass on by. Most, if not all, of the meat is cooked medium, but you can ask to have it cooked any way you'd like. I typically prefer well done, but I was fine with the medium. I, from time to time, choose to go down to medium as I'm continuously poked fun at by loved ones over this. That said, be careful. Eat with your stomach, not with your eyes. It's very easy to overeat with all those juicy cuts of meat passing by. Not to mention, too, that whether you think it or not, if you combine that meat with everything else, it makes for a large meal. I had to stop myself from eating as I wanted to eat the sides they brought us (pão de queijo, fried bananas, and garlic mashed potatoes), as well as dessert. We had a Brazilian cheesecake for dessert and accompanied it with a digestive. Holy moly! That digestive was strong, but I think it worked because I didn't have to be rolled out of there. At any rate, this was a great time. We would go again if in town. I do caution you though that it's busy and loud, and a bit expensive, but hey, this isn't an everyday thing (nor should it be unless death by overeating is something that interests you). read more

Last week I was invited by friends to go to Texas de Brazil - Tampa. Needless to say I was very disappointed. I usually go to Terra Gaucha Brazilian Steakhouse - Tampa. Maybe I am just spoiled with the service and excellent quality of Terra Gaucha. The salad bar/appetizer bar was less then expected, not the upscale I am used too. The quality of the meats I tried was sub par. The filet mignon was tough as well as the sirloin. They wanted to bring me more and I thought it is what it is, and it wont be any different. The service was good. The place was packed, not sure why. Anyways I wont be going back. I still stay with Terra Gaucha. They are the best of the best. read more

I recently visited Texas de Brazil for the first time to celebrate a family birthday, and unfortunately, my experience was far from what I expected. As the meats started coming out, I was excited, but things quickly took a turn for the worse. I had been drinking my water and was about 80% through when I looked down and saw a moth floating in it. I immediately notified the server, and her response was less than reassuring. She asked, "Moth?" in a surprised tone, then gave me a new glass of water--however, she made sure to give it to me in a clear glass so I could clearly see that it was a new one. She apologized, but that was the extent of it, and no manager came to address the issue. After paying $91 for a single meal, I felt disgusted and upset. Having unknowingly drunk most of the water with a bug in it really soured the experience. I understand mistakes happen, but at the very least, a manager could have stepped in to acknowledge the situation and offer a more sincere resolution. I used to come here often for lunch back when I used to work in Downtown Tampa. Not sure if it was the same but the meat does seem a bit saltier than before, but I don't mind it too much since I do like my meat on the flavorful side. However, it can be bothersome if you eat your meat with other sides; I'm a pickled veggies or tomatoes with my grilled meat type of carnivore. The side items looked good, I didn't want to fill myself up with sides so I only picked out of my wife's plate. It's definitely pricey but I'd say it's worth it if you like grilled meat. The food was not great. The lobster bisque was good but the meats were not as good as they used to be. They tried to pass off a piece of sirloin as filet. It was tough and dry! I only had a bite and couldn't eat the rest. The potatoes were ice cold. Our server was extremely busy. We waited over 30 minutes for our free dessert for our anniversary. It used to be half off the meal then $20 off, now a free dessert or champagne toast. I paid over $60 for soup and over cooked meat. At least hubby got his lamb chops but only after asking multiple times. I had my disk turned over green and no one stopped. I get mad and flip it to red and they started stopping. Too late, I lost my appetite. The table next to us had a small child the kept pushing his high chair into my knee and throwing his food in our direction. Went to share a 20th birthday lunch for my son yesterday. Our server Emily was great. She was on point and very attentive. Our food was good for the most part. My son, whom being on the Autism Spectrum does not experience a huge variety of foods Had just consumed his first steak last year and thoroughly enjoyed it...so we felt as if it would be a great experience to be able to bring him to sample the filet mignon at this establishment, unfortunately we were not aware that it is NOT served for lunch. We did share this with someone I presume was a manager and he suggested the sirloin. We sampled the sirloin, but unfortunately it was not what we were expecting.
