Overall the meal was good. They have an Argentine flair with the food. I ate light and ordered 2 empanadas (Spicy Beef and Spicy Chicken) and they were really tasty. No need for any hot sauce. My wife and her friend shared one of the meat platters and they both said it was flavorful. It was Tuesday so they got $15 off so that was a bonus. Our server was attentive and nice and the atmosphere was casual. Now they do have a catering menus where you can order large quantities of empanadas. I think they have at least 25 (ish). read more

I had high hopes for Renzo's, but unfortunately, the experience fell a little flat. We ordered the Renzo's Parrilla, and while the presentation was nice, all of the steaks tasted very similar and lacked flavor. The seasoning was minimal, so nothing really stood out on the plate. For dessert, we tried one of the options available, but it was cold, dry, and pretty bland definitely came straight from the fridge rather than freshly made. The ambiance and service were fine, but overall, the food didn't leave much of an impression. Hopefully just an off day, but I'd love to see a bit more flavor and freshness across the board. read more

Four adults and three young ones popped in on a spur for dinner. We were quickly seated on a Friday night as the place was less than half full. Although in a strip mall, the interior was fairly upscale. Service was good, we were looked after well. The menu is extensive, with everything from top of the line steaks, to sandwiched and salads. I wish they offered some bread before dinner, as the young ones were pretty hungry when we arrived. The food came out fairly quickly and piping hot. Stopped here today to finally check it out. We were seated right next to the dry aging cooler. I was drooling over these amazing rib eyes and Porter houses. As well they have a whole selection of in house made sausages which you can get on a charcuterie plate. I decided to try the ceviche plate. It was delicious and offered a good selection of seafood and fried sweet plantains. My dish was an appetizer since I wasn't wanting a big meal. I was happy with my selection and would recommend it. I do plan to come back and try a steak. I will say our two small plates along with two empanadas which were nice. Our bill was over $50 . A little pricey for what we had but it was good and the service was very good. Just expect to drop well over $100 dollars to come here for a couple of steaks along with a bottle of wine. We stopped by for lunch on a Sunday. It is a great Brazilian steakhouse that has aged some of their steaks and has a great selection of wines. It is a classy and cozy ambiance. The servers are attentive and give great recommendations. We started with a beef empanada and a ham and cheese empanada. I got the steak salad for my entree. The empanadas were fresh and quite tasty especially with their chimichurri sauce. The steak salad was fantastic. It was simple , but so satisfying and the steak was cooked as I requested at medium rare. I look forward to coming back and trying other items. read more

ZERO STARS! NEVER IN MY LIFE HAVE WE EVER BEEN TREATED THIS WAY at a restaurant. Tried to come to this restaurant to have a nice family dinner when we had family in town. 10 people. THE OWNER THREATENED US after my husband had to send his steak back 2 times because he ordered medium rare.. 1st time they brought it to the table it was well done. 2nd time they bring it to the table it was rare like freaking ahi tuna. THE OWNER & all the staff stared & sat there talking about us. Then the owner had the balls to come stand at our table & stare at my husband. He then made a face at him and then walked away. He then went & sat back down & continued to talk about my family. My husband went to ask them what was that all about & the owner then told him they will never serve us again & that my family is not allowed back at their restaurant. The owner then threaten to call the cops on my husband. Like what did we actually do? We didn't cook the steak incorrectly. His workers did. This isn't even it. The soda was bad/flat. The mixed vegetables were terrible & bad/spoiled. I had asked for a refill & never got it. I'm then had to use my husbands extra water. Then before we get our bill the guy and his wife left. The poor waitress who wasn't even ours had to come up & apologize for all of it. All she said was sorry. Had no explanation for any of it. All the bill had was my husbands steak taken off. The OLD MAN OWNER & his wife, threatened my family that we are never allowed here. WE NEVER COMPLAINED. We didn't say anything we just wanted a medium rare steak. UNBELIEVABLE. In front of my two young children and family visiting. Do not go here and support an individual/restaurant who does things like this!! Absolutely unacceptable. You don't walk up to a customers table, stare them down & continuously stare at them from across the restaurant. Just because your cooks didn't cook either steak appropriately. Be mad at your cooks not your customers. Then after the customer comes up to you to confront you for your actions, you threaten to call the cops on the customer. This after you were trying to be mentally and verbally aggressive toward us. Telling us you will never serve us again and we are not allowed back at your restaurant. WE DIDN'T DO ANYTHING!!! You did. Unimaginable. I cannot even believe this happened. It was so unreal. Trying to have a nice and enjoyable steak dinner, when the steaks comes out well done, we asked for a new steak, medium rare again.. the second steak comes back out rare like an ahi tuna steak. Both are moderate to pricey, fine dining kinda money. Whenever your up for a hearty beef dinner give this place a whirl. We always leave content and full. I ordered the Churrasco (Skirt) cooked medium. It was a very nice portion and cooked perfectly. After my first bite I knew this was not American beef by the texture. They told me it was imported from their country which they consider to be of greater quality. I prefer the American beef myself but that's a personal preference likely due to familiarity, something each person should decide for themselves. I enjoyed a glass of red wine with the meal that paired perfectly. They have a family sized meat combination plate that I enjoyed once with my son the carnivore on his birthday. He loved it. My family of 6 did a random yelp search for a restaurant we have never been to and settled on this establishment. The service was appropriately prompt for the amount of patrons inside. The owners have made great use of the small yet spacious space with selective art and color combinations to make this place have an upscale feel and ambiance. Hello steak!! I kept telling my husband I felt like I won the lottery. We got all this steak plus two sides for under $60 not including tip. We selected the: ALL BEEF "SOLO CARNE" PARRILLA $54 New York strip, top-sirloin "picanha", skirt, and short-ribs It says it serves 4, but I think it would serve my family of 4 easily. Add a couple apps and you have a whole smorgasbord for 4 adults even. They have a great happy hour menu as well. We had an early dinner, the place was dead. Service was great, the food was good. If you look online they advertise a Happy Hour that include cocktails and tapas, but they should disclose the participating locations. This one in Carrollwood isn't fully participating. I asked for the happy hour menu when I got there, the server didn't know about it, she needed to ask, then she got a paper with a QR code to pull the menu online. We ordered sangria and that is how they earned these two stars. We ordered few appetizers that were ok. The charcuterie board was very sad, the croquettes were decent, the gambas were ok. They need to train their staff about what's in the menu, what's part of the happy hour and make corrections to their website to let people know. It was my first time trying Renzo's and I definitely will be visiting again. I ordered the steak salad and an order of tostones and both were fantastic! Sometimes the steal that restaurants put on their salads is the worst cut and it has lots of fat & grissle but this was NOT like that! The steak was juicy & tender & cooked perfectly medium. Be sure to ask for the garlic & herb dipping sauce for the tostones as it is truly delicious! The salad was a generous portion and the dressing was a fantastic accompaniment. Honestly just not good food or service, ordered a filet mignon, medium well and it came well done , which normally is do-able but it tasted as if it was cooked earlier and reheated in a microwave, it was so dry and chewy , my asparagus was cold and the rice tasted like one minute microwave rice with frozen peas. But when we told the waitress she started to argue with us (we didn't ask for our money back but just explained the food was not very good when she asked us) and she argued , not to mention I just thought it was weird our wine came in mason jars and not wine glasses? Typically I go Renzo's on Kennedy but they didn't have reservations for today, would not recommend this location at all. read more

Yesterday we decided to go to Renzo's. When we entered, the place was packed (with only 2 waiters and a busboy) but despite the hustle and bustle, they were able to get us a table. It went uphill after that (despite we also waited some time for our food, but hey, there only 3 people and they informed that it's not usually like that). The margarita and sangria were delicious. But the food, ufff, the food was sooo freaking good. The all beef Parilla was mouthwatering delicious and so were the appetizers (la croquettes were so good, the mollejas were so good but wouldn't order again). First time at Renzo's and it was a good time! Started with wonderful service, an excellent glass of complimentary Malbec wine (from Yelp Check-In), and ended with happy bellies and smiles! We were seated quickly, and water was brought. Complimentary Wine was wonderful! Had the Provoletta Parrillera (baked cheese) for an appetizer, and it was delicious! We ordered the Parilla for 2 ( a large selection of grilled meats to share) and were going to order side salads (but alas, they were out of salad making materials) so we ordered mixxed veggies instead. The Parilla had Chorizo, pork, chicken, and several types of beef... and there were all delicious! Tender nicely seasoned! More than enough for two people, even with a carnivore like me at the table! They also served ChimiChurri to use on the meats... and it was yummy also. Staff was really terrific, very friendly and helpful... that alone made the visit worthwhile. Very attentive! My title of my experience is called "The Hostess with Mostest" After getting my mother of 84 years old motivated to celebrate another blessed year of her life. My siblings and i decided to celebrate with the family at Renzos. We have been here other times and we all love the atmosphere and the food! As i was planning to reserve, i attempted to put my reservation through the Open Table app however the app did not accept a number of ppl to reserve but suggested i needed to contact the restaurant. On Friday, first thing at their opening time i contacted the restaurant and spoke to a gentlemen whom i thought understood my request to reserve for 11 ppl and got my information and my phone number and confirmed my reservations at 7:30pm. Yesterday as i was arriving with the birthday person at 7:30pm i get a call from my sister in law stating they did not find me on their list. I almost lost it since we had 3 elderly ppl in our party. My SIL puts one of the waiters on the phone and he states they do not make reservations for that many ppl. I told him i spoke with the gentlemen on the phone and confirmed my reservation and did not even mention that i couldn't reserve for that many ppl. With the waiter's statement i was livid at that point. I felt he wanted to disservice me and my family for a mistake one of his coworker's did. I quickly parked my car and left my mother in the car to confront the issue. As i came in i saw the madness. They were completely busy and they looked as if they short staffed. I waited a few minutes until Jessica (the hostess with the mostest) came to me and i explained the issue. I showed the Open Table app and showed her that i made my call and spoke to the gentlemen. She understood the issue and instead of the way the other waiter who i spoke to first commented, she took action to remedy the issue. We had to wait a few more minutes to get free tables to seat all of us. Jessica managed to do it! We all enjoyed a wonderful dinner and my mother enjoyed her 84th birthday surrounded by her loved ones. My mom loved that your staff sang to her happy birthday. It really means a lot to see her smile. As public servant myself, i observed as Jessica had to turn her hat from hostess, to waitress , to server. I completely commend Jessica on that stressful night. She serviced everyone without showing stress but only Professionalism. Thank you Jessica for solving this! Why 4 stars? Because Renzo's remains a great option when I'm seeking meat overload. --- --- --- I visited the Renzo's in South Tampa many years ago and thought it was a solid experience. The same holds true for my Carrollwood experience. I've eaten from restaurants that serve this cuisine that I've enjoyed a tad more, but Renzo's is a very good option. On this visit, I ordered the Might Renzo, which Fried Eggs, Ham, Cheese, Bacon, Green Olives and Red Pepper. I 86'd the olives, but opted to go crazy and keep all of the other toppings because I was craving something hearty. My only complaint is that the sandwich was actually "too hearty." For the second half of the sandwich, I actually removed the egg because it kind of overwhelmed the flavor. If I ordered this again, I think it's actually better sans egg. When I walked in to pick up my to-go order, I was the only person in the restaurant besides the employees on a Sunday around 1:30p. I hope that is not the norm, because I'm rooting for Renzo's to succeed. The folks working here are obviously proud of their restaurant and urged me to spread the word to my friends about Renzo's. So here I am, word spread, friends! My favorite part of the experience comes from when I was eyeing the dessert case while waiting for my food to be bagged up. I noticed something that looked appealing and asked about it. I was immediately handled a sample that was quite amazing. He said it's called Chaja and the closest restaurant you'll find it in is in Miami! Do yourself a favor and order this little plate of goodness. It's some kind of vanilla based cake with caramel and topped with something that looks like toasted marshmallows (but isn't that.) I was just last night celebrating my Birthday and it was my first time. I will be returning, I loved everything. The food was amazing, we ordered some grills, actually one of each and it was delicious. Jonathan our server was excellent, he was on top of everything and gave us great customer service, if you ever go, be sure to ask for him, amazing human being. The restaurant ambiance was perfect, they have a outdoor area so cute but out party was big so we stayed inside.Again, I can't stress how good the food was, from drinks to the meal. Stopped by Renzo's craving a steak and I saw the Paella. I was seated right away and ordered the Tequenos. I got a Malbec and ordered my Paella, it wasn't busy but the Tequenos came fast and they were amazing. They come with two sauces and I alternated between them both. They were great. The Paella took a little longer but it was worth the wait. It's a serving for two, so by myself it was huge! Everything mixed in with the yellow rice, lemon juice squeezed over the whole thing, I loved it. My server,Belen was amazing! She said to tell you Yelpers "the blonde girl is amazing!" She kept my glass full and left me alone to devour the delicious Paella. The presentation was cool, it comes on a natural wood stand and the pan looks old school. The placement of the food was visually pleasing and Wow was it good. I filled up quickly and don't have room for dessert, I saw what looked like a delicious chocolate cake! Do yourself a favor and come try some Brazil/ Argentina food! It'll give you a chance to try out your Spanish! read more

We ordered two tomahawks which we waited over an hour for that were both over cooked. One was so overcooked, it was well done when we ordered both medium rare. We had to ask for drink refills several times and by the end were sharing one glass of water. We told our server the very expensive tomahawks were over cooked and after several employees looking at our steaks, the solution was to pack up some empanadas and dessert for us to take with us, which were clearly items they had left since it was 9:45 by the time we left. One of us had a ribeye that was good and the Caesar salad was good, but everything else was mediocre and the ruined tomahawks and terrible service ruined the night. I wouldn't waste your money or time. Our meal was $350. They didn't offer to comp even one of the tomahawks. Not the way to get people to come back to your restaurant when you make a mistake. read more
