Now I'm really not to fond of the hotel restaurants with an experience I had in California however it was an all exclusive getaway so off the Aqua we go! Now we wanted to get the day started early for my birthday so we can go to all the excursions we had planned. It was a little confusing because it's no instructions and it wasn't anyone standing to assist you by the counter so we asked customers on how to be seated? They instructed us to choose a table and then someone will come out to help you. So we decided to sit by the pool area so we could view the beautiful water because we were on the beach side. The wait wasn't long after we all sat down. We started off with a cup of Starbucks coffee and fruits. We then ordered the American Breakfast which consisted of of 3 eggs , bacon , sausage, potatoes and toast. When I tell you the eggs were cooked to perfection. The bacon was cooked just right and not over crispy and it had like a maple taste. The sausage links were good but if it was my choice I would have had more bacon. The toast was sourdough bread which I love the taste of toasted sourdough with some cream cheese. The breakfast was really good. The price range was very decent for a hotel restaurant because they usually overcharge you but it was around $8-$19. They also had apple,grape and grapefruit juice. Will I try another hotel restaurant yes because I gave the experience a second chance which turned out to be very good. read more

This restaurant is inside the Westin on the Courtney Cambell Causeway. Parking is charged at 10 dollars an hour if your are not staying in the hotel. The bar area has a decent view of outdoors but the beach area is nothing special other than being well decorated. Looks like ththey did a little updating not long ago. The food is average and nothing special. Great if you are on an expense account and not so much if you are paying out of pocket. The flatbread margarita pizza had plenty of cheese but lacking any true Italian flavors. The half order of the wedge salad was very good. I felt that the portions were very generous for sharing. A couple of changes at good ole Aqua sadly. Daphne is gone. There's no longer an option to dine in the little wine room, the service seemed to lack detail and attentiveness on what looked like a slow night. Got a few things wrong in the order, but got my wine switched out for the champagne I ordered. After that, had to move on, no time to change it, fix it, remove charges ect. Gotta keep it moving. Service is miserably slow and when you finally get your food it is was terrible. We ate there twice while staying at the Westin. For dinner it took half an hour to get or food order in and another hour to get the food. They were not even a quarter full. The next morning we had breakfast there and all I ordered was a waffle and bacon. After almost 45min the waffle came out, still no bacon we finally got up and left after an hour and told them "don't bother" we were already late not expecting breakfast to take all morning. Don't waste your time or money with this restaurant especially for breakfast Just go to Starbucks on the other side of the lobby. There was also someone sitting at the bar (inside) with their dog who was barking while they were having a loud conversation on speaker phone for almost 20min and nobody working at the restaurant seemed to care even though everyone was looking at this guy annoyed. read more

Catered food from here is meh. Have to order food for us to eat separately that's fresh. Great location on the water, although one side is the road. I was here for a conference for our company. Stayed here for two days at the latter part of our conference since we were short a night at our resort. Had a mixer out on the back patio of Aqua tonight. Nice patio setup. The cocktails and mixed drinks are good at least. The food offering is a pork loin, 4 cheese rancini, mine beef Wellington, chicken satay with peanut sauce, assorted raw sushi items, shrimp cocktail and some bruschetta. The chicken satay and the bruschetta are the only items I van eat here. The chicken satay is dry as ever and bland and of course it's cold. The sushi is super raw. Staff wouldn't let me take a look at the Aqua menu unless I went inside, how lame is that. Finally another staffer brought me out a menu at the patio. The 4 cheese wasn't so ooey or gooey for having 4 cheeses in it. The bruschetta was okay, needs more balsamic and more basic, one basil ribbon and the balsamic is much too sparse. Ordered two superfood salads with blackened chicken and feta on the side. Hoping the salads will be fresh at least. The two superfood salads with the grilled chicken quite a while to come out. Food takes about 35-40 minutes to come out, it seems. Staffer Jeffrey was cool and kept me posted on my slow food to come out. Food took about 45 minutes to come out. Had to ask for the feta, was supposed to be on the side for both of our salads. The almonds could be better slivered or halved for this salad. Whole almonds are a bit too hard for a salad to me. The salad as a whole wasn't too bad. The blackened chicken was tender and was warm at least. The quinoa was nutty. The Granny Smith apples are crisp too. read more

This place is incredible not just because the amazing friendly and professional service, the views but the food omg the food is sooo good. This restaurant sits inside the Westin Tampa Bay. The food and service are top notch. There's a great outdoor seating area where you are close to a small beach and watch boaters, jet skiers, kayakers and other water enthusiasts frolic. The menu is sizable and we tried a number of dishes.  As the name would imply fish and seafood fill the menu.  However there are other options including the signature Westin healthy options, and the less healthy but tasty burgers, garlic fries, chicken. There will something for everyone.  The food is definitely good. Service every time we've been has been spot on. A full bar, which is usually busy- but not to busy to be uncomfortable- provides excellent libations. read more

This is a little known gem. It's located in the Westin off Courtney Campbell. We've been coming here for about 4 years and there are always open tables. Which I do not understand because it's a great place. Right now their menu is limited due to Covid but still good options and taste great. They have a very nice bar area with plenty of seating. They have a large dining room area with several different seating options like semi private booths, tables by the window which overlook the water and outdoor seating which again is on the water. If you're looking for a great date night, a friends get together, or you just want to grab a drink at the bar and enjoy the nice ambiance solo, check out aqua. Food was great!! I had the fish tacos, garlic fries and they were SO good!! My boyfriend had the Aqua burger with sweet potato fries and he said it was really good. The waitstaff in a HOTEL bar/restaurant should really familiarize themselves with out of state IDs. The food is just sort of meh, something I would make on Tuesday when I'm not sure what to eat, the service was great, everyone was super nice but the ambiance totally is lacking. The kitchen staff is loud, the place looks sort of like a breakfast place & my table literally would Spin sideways every time I tried to cut my food. Not what I expected. Service is the main reason for only 2 stars. I stayed at the Westin and went to the restaurant for breakfast 2 times. The hostess was the server the first day when she noticed no one came to my table after 10 minutes of being seated. I got my coffee after another 10 minutes. Second day service was worse with a "regular" waiter. Wait time was horrendous. I was never able to get the waiters attention for a 2nd cup of coffee and that was after an hour. read more

Saturday morning at the Westin on Tampa Bay. My lovely wife and I were joined by a couple dozen friends and family for a wedding later today. Our server, Melodie, sat us by a window table with a nice view of Tampa Bay. We opted for the breakfast buffet. Fresh fruit, bacon / sausage, scrambled eggs and delicious stuffed French toast with blueberry compote. Did I mention the grits? All were tasty. As uncaring and dirty as the hotel its attached to. Our room was not cleaned at 9:40 at night so we were too tired to go anywhere. We thought we would try out the hotel restaurant. After a lengthy wait and a scowling hostess, my husband and I were parked in a booth in an almost empty restaurant and promptly forgotten. After a few minutes of servers buzzing by carrying nothing, we left and had a great dinner down the street at Bahama Breeze. No $50.00 steak on their menu!! Dining on Labor Day weekend was challenging in Clearwater. Until we showed up at Aqua, located in the Westin Hotel that is. Maranda was our server. She is very personable and provided suggestions for drinks appetizers and main course. I liked that. Cuban sandwich was hot and delicious. Fish tacos were also very good. The flat bread was much better than anticipated with a hot, crisp, light crust. Sadly, at 7:00 pm, the restaurant was mostly empty. This is a disappointing restaurant on several levels...mostly because it has the potential to probably be a feature destination, instead, it's more like a feature hesitation. So the good: Beautiful ambiance and from what I could tell, great servers and bartenders. That seems to be where the pleasantries stop though. Large bar, but no drafts? No local drafts? Really? Someone comes to Tampa, decides to stay at the Westin, goes downstairs to the beautiful Aqua, and not one signature beer from one of Tampa's many breweries to showcase? I digress. The bad: WHO DO I HAVE TO HUMP AROUND HERE TO GET MY FOOD? Surprisingly for a Friday night, the place was mostly empty. The entire front section closed off, and only the bar was open. It was only 9p, but ok. We placed our order of Calamari, Aqua Burger (medium), and the Signature Sushi roll. It took 40 minutes for our food to arrive. I asked the bartender if it normally took this long, and she had mentioned that they were short a chef for the evening. I could understand if the restaurant was packed...but there wasn't enough to warrant 40 minutes for calamari. The calamari was already cool and rubbery by the time it arrived. Almost immediately came the sushi, which wasn't too bad, but didn't have a "freshness" to it. The burger was a pleasant disappointment. Disappointed because I asked for a medium burger, and it was well done. Fully cooked in the middle, and near dry, but the meat itself was TASTY. I could only imagine if the burger was actually medium, how juicy and nice it would have been. The Best part was the sweet potato waffle fries. Piping hot, and tasty. This restaurant has soooo much potential it really is a shame. I don't know if it is a separate entity from the Westin, or just it's signature dining facility or whatnot, but it seems that it is a management issue and not a worker issue. The staff seems to be really nice and would like for the place to be better. I wonder if it was run as a restaurant and not a hotel restaurant if it would make a difference? Sup my Yelper Peeps! If your reading this it's because you're most likely staying at the Westin Tampa Bay and need some feedback on this hotel restaurant. We'll, let me tell you about my amazing five star worthy experience... While staying here I decided to grab a light lunch and an adult beverage. At the bar I was given a lengthy sushi menu and decided on the tuna poke...Holy Crap Batman!!! Just look at my Kodak moment pic. For you millennial's - Kodak was a large imaging corporation famous for instant cameras back in the 70's...I digress.. Back to the tuna poke...the bartender brought this sculptured work of food art on a lava plate. At first glance I was like...where's the tuna. But then I took a moment to appreciate this culinary magnificence put together with creativity, care, and love...and it tasted much better than it looked... Oh! And my slightly dirty martini (sorry no pic) was scrumptious... So there you have it. Go ahead and stop by this place and enjoy their sushi. Their sushi chef is a genius!! Peace out!! read more

Lol... how to put salt on Costco pre-made crab cakes by Westin!!! Not just that, but this seems like the cess-pool of corporate MAGA in its death throws. Located in the Weston Hotel this restaurant was well appointed and the front of the house staff were super attentive. We both ordered the shrimp scampi and our server allowed us to substitute the type of pasta it was served with. Tye entrees were perfect. We also had shrimp cocktail as an appetizer, it was served with cocktail sauce. The cocktail sauce was more of a salsa that I did not care for. The front of t he house staff practiced good social distancing and all used face masks. One thing stood out. The kitchen team, who's work area is visible to the dining room did not wear masks or headwear for hair control for that matter. The food was great and the service was on point. read more

The last time we were here we had a 6 top that they couldn't figure out where to sit us in a restaurant that was half empty. When we thought we had found a table the Manager made hostess come back to tell us we couldn't sit there because there wasn't a server for that section. At that point we decided to leave at which time the Manager told us we could sit anywhere we wanted, but it was to late for that. I actually emailed the restaurant twice about our experience, but nobody ever got back to me. We came back because we live 2 minutes away in Rocky Point. On this visit we ordered the Lamb Lolly's and Florida Rock Shrimp Carbonara. The Lamb Lolly's came with two, we ordered one medium and one medium rare. They basically came out raw (see pic), we asked them to cook one of them a little more, but it was still raw so may lady didn't get to try them one. I eat my steak rare, lamb I do medium rare and I could still barely eat them. The Carbonara was pretty good...4 stars for that. We'd like to come here more because it is so convenient, you're just not doing a good convincing us to do that. read more

I'm giving this place a mixed rating with an overall average of 4 stars. Basically I found it 4 star for wine list and atmosphere. 3-4 Star for food ..depending. It's a very pretty area with a large bar off to one side and the restaurant with open kitchen off to the other. We came early (not that they ever got busy) and got a nice table by the window (after turning our nose up at the little two top the dingy hostess tried to seat us at-which would have meant someone would be missing the gorgeous water view) It's a very modern decor with high back chairs and lighting that changes from green to blue and ambien music playing in the background. A decent wine list was presented only after we requested it. We started with a mojito for him and a pear martini for me. which took 15mins to get.mojito was missing something, I'm not sure what but it was definitely lacking. My peartini was very sweet but it got much better the second time around. We opted to start with a california roll ($ 13)described as blue crab, avocado, ginger & chili sauce. I opted for this as I cant eat cucmber and all the other rolls had it, well when this one arrived it did to. Trying to play nice ( a feat I sometimes fail at) I removed said offensive greenery and muddled through only to find a bland boring generic sushi roll. Onward we fared to a nice bottle of Bertani, Amarone, Veneto, 2004, Not too bad of a markup at $250. They do have a very nice wine list here. We shared an appetizer: Sweet Grass Dairy Raviolo with lil moo cheese, crimini mushrooms, arugula pesto, shaved asher bleu cheese ($9) one large raviloi perfectly plated and served with a sauce I would basically kill for. ABsolutely delicious. At a weak attempty to be healthy we shared a chopped salad ($9) a not so impressive salad of basic iceburg with olives, feta, salami, carrots and my friend the cucumber ,ring formed and served with a dressing that was decent although a little heavy handed. On to a second bottle of wine, next we had a Chateau Peyreau Grand Cru -St Emilion, 2008 -again decently priced at $99. Did I mention the pretty impressive wine list? On to the entrees, I had my heart set on swordfish when I saw it on their online menu and was disappointed to find it was indeed, not. The black bean chili rubbed grouper looked good but I just didnt want the asain effect of udon noodles, bok choy, etc. Dinner date took over and asked the waiter if I could just get the fish with other sides and they were more then glad to oblige me. So I ended up with the grouper, which was perfectly cooked and delicious, the root vegi ratatouille and the red quinoa tabbouleah.($23)He ordered the paella with clams, mussells, shrimp, chicken and grouper ($21) Which was apparently very good as well although I'm positive a digit would have been lost if I had meandered my fork over for a taste. Too full to consider dessert we ended our evening of decadence. So yes even though Aqua did certainly have it's downfalls it also had some very nice high points. I would go again, and bring friends, but avoid the sushi and the horrid salad. All in all, a gorgeous restaurant, with nice views, excellent fish entrees and a lovely wine list. As a side note I will say the service was extremely slow to start but certainly picked up once the evening moved along. Not sure what happened, or if the pricey wine purchased influenced this, but the waiter did end up being very professional, very patient, and very courteous (even if I was a tad snarky to start) I was hungry?! I'd like to preface this review by disclosing that I've worked in hospitality industry for 10 years (specifically fine dining). I have been to this establishment twice in the past two weeks, whilst in town for work. I am not a big reviewer. I am a very fair and understanding person, having worked in the service industry for much of my adult life. Sadly this is the second review I have written because the experience was that memorable, in a bad way. I had a few glasses of wine and dinner at the bar. The food was way above par, a great array of choices, fresh and tasty. The bar staff was amazing, proficient in their service, and attentive to patrons. All of the great service was almost negated by the the manager, Christopher, who I have gone to great lengths to identity. He left enough of a sour taste in my mouth for me to write this review. On my first visit, I passed it off as him having a bad day, I have subsequently determined that this is unfortunately his demeanor and his general attitude towards his vocation. He had a terrible attitude throughout the whole duration of my stay, both times. I witnessed him literally drop a plate of food in front of a gentlemen's face, then walk away without saying anything. Additionally, when he wasn't on his phone he was treating his staff terribly, and made no attempt to hide it. Very seldomely do I leave such negative reviews for restaurants, because I am aware of the weight that they carry in this industry. I certainly hope that he is no reflection of the quality of management above him. Overall, a wonderful stay, which was sadly dampened by one individual. read more
