However, for $75 dollars I was completely unimpressed with the food served. For the make your own chocolate bar, you can choose your type of chocolate and three mix-ins. While you wait for that to set, they serve two other desserts. The lemon pound cake slice tasted store bought and the cheesecake topping was just too sweet. The "fondue" was just not bad. I finally made it out to the Cake Drip!! I have to say I was missing out!! From the moment I stepped in I knew I was gonna have a great time. The vibe took over. We were greeted by Ayla. She was so gracious and explained how the tasting would go and brought us champagne. Once the bubbles started flowing we got to choose what we would put in our chocolate bars. I put potato chips, toffee bits, and m&m's. Our bars were taken to harden.We got cheesecake and chocolate spoons to sample. They were each divine. Finally we got a dessert box filled with cake, marshmallows, dipping chocolate and sprinkles. Again everything was delicious!! We took a few pictures while we waited for our bars. This included champagne throughout the event your choice of chocolate three toppings for your chocolate bar(s) and a unique dessert box which included marshmallows, fresh fruit, cake bites. Making our own chocolate bars was perfection. You can choose between milk chocolate, dark chocolate, or white chocolate. I had 3 add ins which I choose sea salt, walnuts, and almonds. I just wanted a chocolate bar so I used the kiosk outside the location. It was quick and easy to use. They have a lot of options for toppings and you choose your top 3. I choose caramel, toffee, and cake pieces. I wish they put more description for the cake to let me know that it was pink cake. I assumed it was going to be vanilla cake so I would have made a different topping decision if I knew it was pink cake. However, the chocolate bar still came out great. It is huge and made with quality chocolate. They tell you it takes about 30 minutes and my bar was ready in exactly that time. If I can compare it directly to something I would say that The Cake Drip is similar to the Willy Wonka Chocolate Factory and I don't say that lightly. The Cake Drip is absolutely fantastic and it made my happiness level sky rocket. As you can see by my photos, if you love photography just like I do this is a perfect place for you to visit. I first saw a video of the Cake Drip on Tiktok and knew I had to come here. Had so much fun! Didn't expect it would be this fun. My friends and I had a blast too. At the time of creating the reservation I was told it would be an hour experience roughly. We ended up staying for about 2.5 hours. We just enjoyed each other's company and socialized while completing our flight. We all did the chocolate flight tasting. I created a white chocolate bar with sea salt, caramels, and sour patches. So tasty even to experience the other ladies DIY chocolate bars. I will definitely be back in the near future. The business is family oriented. Boy are they super sweet too! We had a great experience here for a friends birthday. There was 10 of us and the staff was more than accommodating for us. It's a perfect backdrop for cute pictures and they gave us a light to make sure we had the best shots. We got cute glasses of champagne as we sat down. They have a non alcoholic option too. I really wanted to enjoy my time at Cake Drip and support this Black-owned business in Hyde Park. There were some pros, but overall I know there could be some improvements that could keep this place going and build its business even better. The moment my friend and I walked in, the DJ was extremely loud. We heard about the noise issue from what was going on with some complaints in the news, so wanted to support and know that this was the vibe - more of a "club" vibe. Yet, at a dessert bar, we wanted to hear one another and catch up. We had to move tables and it didn't help. We asked the manager and DJ to turn down the music and no one kept it that way as someone was celebrating their birthday, on top of the table and chairs, so our comments fell on deaf ears. We even tried to Facetime friends to show them the spot and see if they wanted to come, but couldn't even hear... The desserts were cute. They were paired well with the alcohol and sparking options. ... but again, we couldn't really talk about it since we couldn't hear anything. We were asked how long we planned to stay as there were "other people with reservations" and basically booted out of our table to stand at the 'bar' in the back (to finish what we paid almost $100 for) ... no one even came to the table on a reservation, so the boot was for not. Would I come back? probably only if I could sit and enjoy a dessert with some friends and catch up and hear one another or we're just eating and staring at one another in silence. As someone on the spectrum, there's just too much going on for me to see this as a dessert bar more than it is a club atmosphere. The best way to end date night is with dessert of course. This hidden gem in the south Howard area was perfect. This place was nothing but good vibes all around. I think it may be tailored more towards a girls night out but nonetheless it's still enjoyable with a significant other. Make sure you go hungry because they give you plenty of desserts . They give you complimentary champagne, I had around 4-5 glasses (not stingy about it). We both created our own chocolate bars. While waiting for the chocolate to set, we had cheesecake that came with chocolate spoons, as well as pound cake, strawberries, and chocolate dip with pink sprinkles. The Cake Drip is a wonderful addition to Hyde Park Village. The shop is whimsically decorated with fun, upbeat music. We made a reservation for a chocolate flight for two. We split the flight ($65 in total). The flight includes: 2 customizable chocolate bars to take home, ,champagne, a "sushi" chocolate board, and a "fondue" tasting. The owner, Veronica, is absolutely amazing. She and her daughter were extremely friendly and tended to our every need. We started off with a glass of champagne each and customized our chocolate bars. We selected the chocolate type as well as our three toppings, which were all brought to us so that we could create the chocolate bar ourself. There was quite the variety of topping options, ranging from fruit to bacon bits and potato chips. We then had the "sushi" chocolate tasting, comprising of 3 types of cheesecake, 3 chocolate spoons (milk, white and dark chocolate) as well as some fresh strawberries. The chocolate was delicious and we enjoyed the presentation. The last "course" was the fondue course. Since my date has celiacs, they modified the board to include macaroons rather than cake. We were also given strawberries, sprinkles, homemade marshmallows and of course chocolate. Overall, this was a great experience in a prime location. This place has only been open for about a month and I can say it is probably one of the cutest places I've been to in a long time. The decor is so girly and had flowers pretty much everywhere. First time here and they get three stars for trying. Honestly the three stars are for the music. If you read other reviews you'll get a feel for the process. You're seated, given a glass of champagne, choose your chocolate and fillings, make said chocolate, get cheesecake, marshmallows etc to try, take pictures while you wait for your chocolate to harden and that's it. My opinion: not worth it. The place is so small that you're literally trying to take pictures on top of people trying to eat at their tables. We were told that we'd get a glass of bubbly during each stage and we did not. The cheesecakes were the Costco version and they tasted like the walk-in freezer. Lastly, the chocolate did not stay solid. By the time we received it and walked back to the car it was a melted mess--so we had to rush home and put it in the fridge but each time it was taken out to eat it melted again within 5-10 minutes. If you're an IG junkie and just want some pictures for the 'gram, live it up. But if you're looking for an actual quality experience, skip it. Go to Bern's dessert room or Chocolate Pi. read more

I called four times during the week and was assured each time that it was already processed and I should see it on my account in a day or two. So they lied. Finally I spoke with the owner (Ayla?) and she was so passive aggressive with me. She knows my name but still called me "babe". So unprofessional. I think she was never going to issue the refund and was just hoping I'd forget. Ugh. They are not ADA compliant. I even called ahead before booking a reservation to make sure they could accommodate someone in a wheelchair and they said yes so that I would book, but changed their mind the day before our reservation. You don't get to choose when you're ADA compliant. You either are or you're not. They were totally fine with excluding us due to a disability. It's disgusting and it hurts my heart. So first let me say that this was an amazing experience and well worth the $55. My girlfriends and I decided to plan a evening trip to the Cake Drip. We made a reservation for 6:00 and got there earlier and they were able to accommodate us. upon arrival they do make you pay in advance which seemed a bit awkward because they require you to tip in the beginning which you don't know how the service is going to be and that was a little off-putting. they brought out candy dipped champagne glasses as our first entrée so to speak. Then we received a slip of paper where we could pick out what type of chocolate we wanted and three choices of fillings for our candy bar. I chose bacon bits marshmallows and peanuts as those were my favorite. I could have easily chills four or five toppings the option to add additional toppings for a charge should have been an option. after we made our candy bars they took our candy bars away and then came out with a sushi board so to speak. The keyboard had three different cheesecakes, chocolate spoons, as well as the strawberries and a sauce on the side side. all were pretty freaking amazing. After that we received a box and the box had marshmallows, cakes , chocolate sauce and sprinkles, again amazing. My only complaint was when we got there the waitress/hostess told us for it to be cheaper we should do one couple and one single. considering there were three ladies there the couple only gave you one board to share between two and one box when we asked if we could just change it and add on an additional single it was not allowed. I was more than willing to pay for an additional single however she stated that there was no way this could be done. Disappointing. Also once I got home my candy bar had been switched with my friends candy bar and her candy bar had coconut which I am allergic to so it was pretty much a waste for me. luckily we both decided that it was worth the drive 30 miles to switch off our candy bars so that we could each have our respective candy bars.
