Wanted to go somewhere nice for a birthday celebration. Birthday girl chose The Melting Pot. None of us have ever been here so we didn't know what to expect. Our server was very friendly and was Awesome at explaining the process and how to cook our food and have the best experience possible. First course came out with cheese and plenty of items to dip in. From potatoes to bread and veggies. Cheese had a great flavor and was filling. I had to slow down just because I wanted to save my appetite for the 2nd and 3rd course. 2nd course came out with the meats we selected. Everything tasted great in the Mojo broth. I couldn't even eat all my meat. 3rd course chocolate fondue. We chose the Flaming Turtle. Wow!! I could have just ate all of this first..Lol.. nice and rich the pound cake and strawberries..Yum.. Overall I had a great time something different to experience. I would totally go again. I was afraid due to several reviews being not so good. Yes our booth had a seat with a little wear on it but didn't ruin my evening. Will be back!!

Never dined at melting pot before and came here for the Columbus restaurant week deal, honestly was not expecting much but was pleasantly surprised! The service: Rating 5 stars because of the service. Everyone was super friendly - when we sat down, the manager kindly asked if we could switch tables to accommodate someone with a wheelchair - this was prior to us even eating so it wasn't a huge haul. We happily moved as we just sat and they were so kind and appreciative - coming up to our table multiple times to say thank you & gifting us a pack of chocolate covered strawberries. They didn't need to do that but were so kind. The waiter and even the bus staff were friendly. The food: The Wisconsin cheese fondue was delicious and the cheese pulls were 10/10. The chocolate fondue was the best part - they gave a lot of dipping items for 2 people. I got the steak lovers main meal in the coq au vin sauce - lots of steak for one person and it was fun to cook the food. The meat was fine and they gave you a lot but nothing to write home about. The broth was flavorful but you couldn't taste it as the steak just cooks in it. I would probably go for the grilling option next time. I would come back for the cheese and the chocolate and not get a main course as the cheese was super filling and more flavorful & you can't go wrong with melted chocolate :) The ambiance: this place was an experience as you cook your own food and dip all the goods, would know that you are spending 2-3 hours there depending on how many people! It does get loud in the restaurant since this is a social atmosphere and it does get toasty with all the hot plates around.

Fair warning this place is pricey but you are paying for the experience and food. Great place for a date night! The Melting Pot is in the basement of another company but they are easy to spot and have plenty of parking around the area. The service is always great the staff is very informative of the menu and process so don't be afraid to ask. This is the second time here and to be honest it's always fun. This time around we got the fiesta cheese. The wife and I loaded it up with jalapeños to make it spicy. Highly recommend asking for roasted potatoes to dip in.

Wow! This place is one of the best restaurants I have ever been too! We tried the fiesta cheese this time around. It was amazing (very light on spice) but WOW was it good! I tried the melting pot salad again. It was fantastic, fresh and the honey mustard dressing is amazing! We tried the Coq au Vin with various meats. We like the caribbean-like broth better because this one was a bit winey-with a different after taste. It was still good but the other one is better. Lastly, the dark chocolate is simply divine. It is Heaven in a pot. We literally were scraping the remnants of it at the end (not wasting a drip!). Overall, this was one of the best dinners I have ever had and we will 1000% be back!

It was restaurant week and I decided to try something new. The Melting Pot was definitely a unique experience. We started out with the spinach and artichoke dip which was some of the best I have ever had. It was creamy and the fresh spinach blended well. The second course we had chicken, salmon, steak, and shrimp. Let me say this You cook the food yourself. Now I was nervous that I wouldn't know if the meat was cooked to temperature but I struck up courage and listened to the recommended times they gave. I picked grilled because that was my comfort. Last but not least we picked the s'mores chocolate and it was scrumptious! I enjoyed all the courses.

This is a special occasion restaurant since it is pricey. My husband and I got the 4 courses for $115 total. We got a lot of food so come hungry. We got the fiesta cheese, salad, and I got the land & sea. And then my husband got the Pacific Rim. You each get your own entree. We both got the broth called Mojo for the entree so we could share the same melting bowl. It would take longer if you each got your own broth. And then for dessert we got the flaming turtle and they light it on fire! Very cool!! Overall we were there for 3 hours. It was a good experience! Next time I might just come back for the cheese & dessert

Well the crowd is right on this one. We just had a 20 year anniversary dinner here because I proposed to my wife at the Columbus melting pot over 20 years ago and were looking for an amazing repeat dinner. The filet tastes like a cheap sirloin, literally not edible. The shrimp is tiny and our waitress must have been too busy to make our experience any better. The highlights were the cheese and chocolate, those would be reasons to come and have a snack and a drink but we probably won't be back for dinner. PS. Parking is horrible. There's no where to park nearby so give yourself extra time, that would have been nice to know in advance.

I haven't been here in a while until this week. It's definitely a really fun restaurant and experience. The menu is slightly confusing but our server was really nice and willing to explain it all to us. The cheese is really good, the dinner portion is just ok. The meat is slightly hard to cook and everything comes out just tasting boiled. The desert is definitely the highlight though. I've come in the past just for desert. In all it's a fun experience.

I've seen some not so great reviews of this specific location - but I have no complaints! We made a reservation online for a Saturday and we were seated within 5 minutes or so after checking in. There are stairs going down to the restaurant but I was told they do have an elevator as well if stairs aren't for you! The weekends are of course the busiest time so making a reservation is a good idea. From what I could see it looked like they were well staffed and knew what they were doing for being so busy! Everyone was very friendly. We did the four course dinner for two. We ordered the bourbon bacon cheddar cheese, house salads, the Pacific Rim + Steak lovers for the entree, and s'mores chocolate for our dessert. I should have taken more pictures but I was too busy! I think our total was around $115 which is what the website says as well for the four course for two. I would give yourself 2 - 2.5 hours to be there - so don't go if you're in a rush because that's just not the way it works. Checking out the menu before you go to have an idea on what they have is definitely a good idea and makes the decision making easy once you're there. It is a bit of a darker restaurant but the lighting is just right above your table I would say. I didn't go to the bar myself but they do have cute bar area that you can go to and the drink menu looked good as well. I did see quite a few tables with younger kids but personally I would not take kids myself as it could probably end up messy with everything you get. I do recommend this place and will go back! - Always be considerate of restaurant staff as many places are very busy and very understaffed these days. Your patience and kindness go a long way for some of them.

We came to the Melting Pot for my birthday tonight. The food was so delicious, and so fun to cook! The atmosphere was very nice, with tall booths for privacy. Bianca, Justin & Audrey were awesome (everyone was)! We will definitely be back soon!

Ask the Community - The Melting Pot

Is there a kid's menu? Or can my child just eat some of my meal?

Are they handicapped friendly? Is there an elevator somewhere? I want to bring my grandma who is handicapped and couldn't walk down all of the stairs they have.

Yes there's an elevator. If you're looking at the building there is a separate entrance to the right where there's an elevator that will take you down to The Melting Pot

Great meals with philosophical friends (2 of 2)…read more Rarely am I in Midwestern capital cities with beltways around them, but I do have a few friends from years ago who do live in this city's suburbs. I once ate at their famed German restaurant with the lunch buffet and the extra cost cream puffs with an Italian-American friend who is sort of an Archie Bunker with an MBA. He provides the entertainment. The last time I ate lunch in C-bus with that good friend was before the pandemic. I believe that the lunch buffet has returned to that German restaurant, but I can wait to do that on some other trip. On this last go round, I met up for lunch with a different friend with whom you can discuss the human condition ad nauseam, which is somewhat of a good thing. It's a good thing because there aren't many people who are capable of doing that and who will engage in that. However, when you wrap up such involved discussions, you might feel a little overwhelmed for a while! I got to choose the restaurant ... from out of town. I didn't like the choices with which I was presented and the only area of town I really know is the Polaris area around Ikea. I looked up listings and recommendations. Chocolate Cafe' had two things under its belt from the get-go. It's a high scoring bistro-cafe that has a noteworthy breakfast and lunch following and it has the word "chocolate" in its name. It's in that area near the Barnes and Noble west of the big state university with its logo featuring a branch that looks like a marijuana leaf. I have since learned it's not a marijuana leaf. We ordered lunch, with one entree being a Cobb salad and the other being one of their club sandwiches, the latter of which was mine. It was very good and, as is often the case with me, I could have eaten a bigger sandwich. I went through it fairly quickly, even though I did have the small and cheap Swedish breakfast at Ikea that morning. With the entrees, we ordered bowls of their popular tomato basil soup, which really hit the spot on that cold day. To drink, we ordered house coffee and a hot chocolate. The house coffee is refillable while the hot chocolate is not, but that's standard protocol just about anywhere. With a name like Chocolate Cafe,' we did not order dessert. My friend left first and I stayed behind to look at the dessert case. I later caved in for a slice of their moist and rich chocolate fudge cake to take with me. Like I said, it was moist and rich ... and also very tasty and filling. The pricing here is standard and appropriate. The service was folksy and very attentive, despite their being full on a weekend approaching the holidays. The interior is bright because of the floor-to-ceiling windows around the perimeter of the restaurant. That really scores points with me. Lastly, upon pulling in, the parking lot was full and I had to park a short walk away, all the while paying attention to parking signs and rules. This implied that Chocolate Cafe' was most likely a good place ... and that was corroborated. I have never driven down I-71 into this city's center once past its beltway. I have doglegged and taken Highway 315 - the Olentangy River Parkway. At its top end, it winds a little and it's slightly scenic. As you start approaching OSU, all these different medical towers with different specialties loom over you ... from both sides of the road! It's similar to the feeling one gets when they drive past the Texas Medical Center south of downtown Houston, as in, "What a maze ... why so many damn medical buildings?" But that doesn't affect their rating. It's just a personal pet peeve. I'm going to go with 4.5 stars for Chocolate Cafe', which obviously rounds up to 5 stars. It makes for an interesting meal and experience and, while I would not repeat it like clockwork because of how rich it can be, I could definitely see repeating it if I lived in its general area. My friend said he would be coming back with family members. That said, you clearly see two seals of approval.

My absolute go-to is their chocolate espresso martini -- and it never disappoints. The chocolate-rimmed glass instantly sets it apart from anywhere else, and every sip is the perfect balance of rich chocolate and bold espresso. It's smooth, indulgent, and honestly feels like dessert in a glass. The price point is great too, which makes it even easier to treat yourself. I also love picking up a few of their smaller desserts like the buckeyes and chocolate peanut butter pretzels. They're decadent, satisfying, and made with love. Their cakes and other items are beautifully made as well. The staff is consistently friendly, welcoming, and helpful, which really adds to the overall experience. They also offer a variety of food entrées that I haven't tried yet, but every dish I see coming out to nearby tables looks fresh, beautifully plated, and incredibly tempting. It's definitely next on my list.

Fear not, all is well in the a.m. We tried 3 savory items, 3 sweet items and an Ube Matcha that was good to this coffee 'un-aficionado'. The kitchen craftsmanship was apparent in every offering - striking the perfect balance that is required when blending Indian recipes/spices/-inspired dishes into other types of cuisine. Not everything we tried was "THE BEST EVER," and that's not an insult. Again, it's the presentation and obvious care that went into each dish that separates Rooh from the pack... along with a fleet of options that taste good. The standout savory dish was the Tandoori Chicken Croissant Spiral. But the fluffiest Egg Sandwich I've ever had and Crispy Chicken Sandwich did not disappoint. On the sweet side, the Jaggery Triple Chocolate Chip was double the depth of any gourmet cookie I've ever had. The Buckeye in Dubai Tart was nice but tiny. The winner in this category was the Mango Ras Malai Croissant because their croissants are outstanding. Several breakfast menu items are made with the croissant, and I venture to say that if you just ordered all of them, you would have a terrific experience.

My burger was cooked very well, and the french fries were a pretty generous serving, so you definitely have more than enough food. I also had the Brooklyn to drink, which I really liked. I typically like a sweeter old-fashioned, but they use a rye whiskey in theirs, so the Brooklyn was a nice alternative. Our server, Danny was super friendly and very attentive to our needs.
