### ** I Was a Faithful Meatball Sommelier... Until This Sub Stole My Heart!**…read more I don't take meatball subs lightly. In fact, I consider myself a certified **Meatball Sub Connoisseur**--a high-end *Meatball Sommelier*, if you will. For years, I truly believed my refined, highly trained tastebuds had already crowned the ultimate king of California meatball subs: Cortina's in Orange. I thought my search was over. I was set for life. And then... a happy little accident happened named **Rock n' Jenny's Italian Subs**. I ordered the medium meatball sub, expecting a standard lunch, and ended up having a full-blown spiritual experience. * **The Meatballs:** Unbelievably juicy and *clearly* homemade with love--just like Mom used to make! * **The Ratio:** Pure geometry perfection. The exact right amount of meatballs, melted cheese, and bread. * **The Crunch:** Perfectly oven-toasted so every bite gives you that glorious golden crunch. Would I come back and devour this again? **YES.** A thousand times yes. **Bonus points:** They're super into cars, so you get top-tier subs with awesome vehicle vibes! My tastebuds (and my car-loving heart) have officially found a new home.

He said it'd be a 15-20 minute wait for my to-go subs and he was spot on. Got the 9" Famous Turkey with the works and really enjoyed it. I wish they'd used a lighter hand with the house dressing though, because it was messy to put down and pick back up. They also didn't cut it in half. Wonder if this was a one-off mistake or a standard to-go thing. I've also ordered the meatball sub and it was very enjoyable as well.

My only regret is that I've driven by this place for 39 years before trying it! It's charming,…read morecozy, spotless ... but the real issue is food. The Sandwich I had was fantastic. I had their talked about "Big Kahuna" and it was big... and it was delicious. I had the 6" and ate all I could and still had the left over for lunch today. The meats are first class... excellent and fresh. The bread... I asked the owner and he said he thought the Big Kahuna was best on their French Roll... so I went with that. My wife had a Turkey and Cheese on Squaw. She started out thinking the Squaw was not as sweet as she liked... and by the end of the sandwich... had reversed her opinion and really liked it. Both were perfectly fresh. The French roll is not a hard crust and smashed beautifully ... other wise I would never have gotten my mouth around the Big Kahuna ... even with an aggressive double "Gnawing" bite. Mustard, Mayo, Vinegar and Oil, Salt and Pepper... Lettuce, Tomato, Onion, Dill Pickle chips, and Pepperoncini. Now that is a spectacular sandwich. Will go back every time a sandwich is my choice. The service ... friendly, helpful, kind and pleasant. Doesn't hurt either that the place is beautifully decorated to an inviting atmosphere. Best ... great surprise we have had in food in quite a while.

I did a mobile order pick up because that place seemed super busy when I went in to pick up my food. The sandwich is packed with fresh flavor and felt full from half a sandwich. Flavors and textures were a perfect blend of toast and crisp, and the veggies were still crunchy and not soggy. I tried their cookie for dessert and wow, so soft and not too sweet. This is a place I will come back to whenever I want to go out for lunch.

All the sandwiches are fully customizable as to choice of bread and accoutrements, so keep that in mind. The garlic chili oil, chipotle ranch, and chipotle mayo spreads are all house made. I had the Turkey BLT with Avocado with "The Works", on a house made roll that they make daily. "The Works" includes mayo, mustard, lettuce, tomatoes, and chopped red onions. With the one inch thick stack of fresh, thinly sliced turkey and all those other delicious ingredients, this sandwich girl's heart was in heaven. I can't even describe how fresh every single ingredient was on this sandwich. Let's just say everything had a clean taste to it and not one ingredient overpowered the other ingredients. Oh! And I got a delicious house made chocolate chip cookie with the sandwich. There are daily specials. On Fridays, they supposedly have the best London Broil roast beef French Dip sandwich, with house made Au jus that is allegedly out of this world. Might have to make two trips to Tina's this week! A hidden gem.

This is how you do it folks!…read more Been here three times and we've had different dishes every time and so far everything is delicious. Service is on point, like I said I've been here three times in probably 5 months and the crazy thing is on both return trips the guy recognized me like this is the epitome of mom & pop business right here. You feel seen and you realize the money your paying for your delicious food is going to real folks and not some corporate overlord nonsense. The vibe of the place is an industrial-esque sports bar the style that was super popular during the hipster face of restauranteering where everyone was going for the stripped down minimalist aesthetic but for this place it works. They have high seats, low seats and a couple TVs playing live sports with no real obstructions. We always come at off peak hours so I'm not sure how packed it would get but this seems like a good place to catch a PPV fight or something IF they don't pack everyone in like sardines. The food, jeez I should have probably made this the start of the review the food is decadent. EVERY dish we've tried has been packed with flavor, healthy portions, and fair prices. I recommend anything on the menu but if you want to get out of your comfort zone get the balkan fries, they're so good you won't regret it! This is the kind of place you want to see in business the people rock, the food is great, and you feel like part of the community patronizing here.

I prefer the more common layered Philly style of thinly sliced then lightly chopped beef with slices of cheese melted on top, then onions/peppers folded in the roll. The beef is more the star in the style. As for the famously imported roll, they can save the cross-country expense as it's tasteless and wrinkly. There are many better rolls available from local commercial bakeries. A few more minor annoyances. Ketchup is only available in those messy little packets, and there are no salt and pepper shakers, just those tiny packets. And finally, what's with the 3% "Operations Fee"? A business's finances are run through a P&L, which always contains operating expenses. Given their prices and I'm sure good profit margin, any operations expenses should be built into the P&L model, not hoisted on the customer beyond the item prices. Overall, a decent sandwich and fries from a frozen bag, but for $20+ not a good value.
