If you're a hunter hoping to have an animal processed in the Bishop area, avoid The Meat House at all costs! We dropped off my wife's beautiful buck 2 weeks ago. All 4 quarters skinned and in good shape in game bags, and a sack full of loose meat with 2 backstraps in the sack (25# ish). Probably roughly 90 pounds total. She gave specific instructions to grind everything and add 10% fat to it. Also to set aside 1 of the rump roasts. We picked up yesterday and the guy came out with a very small crate of burger packages and no roast. I asked where the rest was and he said "that was it". Wife asked about the roast and he smuggly told us he ended up just grinding it...WTH? We ended up with 22- 1 pound packages of burger and nothing else. Thats 22lbs TOTAL! This was a solid 170# animal. All for the cost of $215. Never again Mike, ever. I should have listened to all of my buddies that live in Bishop and NOT went here!!!

    YUM.

While driving through Bishop CA the wifey and I saw this butcher shop on the Main Street. I asked her to immediately pull over. I went inside and ordered up a few pounds of ground chorizo, hot Italian sausage, mild Italian sausage, ground country breakfast sausage, and some ground bacon burger beef. The Meat house has a large selection of beef, pork, and seafood cuts. They even make in house fresh dog food and have fresh vegetables. The guys behind the counter were Good gand made me feel welcomed as an outsider. I wish there were more butcher shops around like The Meat house. The cuts looked awesome and if you're around Bishop CA check them out. Going inside you will be reminded of how hard working America still stands strong and does good business without the big box grocery store. So I finally got around to cooking up some of that ground breakfast county sausage!!! You know when your 6 year old tells you this is good sausage Daddy, while eating our eggs for breakfast it is Legit. The taste of the sausage had a hint of sage and was super awesome tasting even after being in our freezer approximately 6 months, I'll be back.

Dropped my deer off and I got 25 lbs. This is absurd. It was a full sized buck. You stole the meet ans sold it in your shop.

AMAZING TEXAS-STYLE BBQ!…read more Holy Smoke Texas Style BBQ absolutely delivered! The meat was tender, juicy, smoky, and packed with flavor--exactly what great BBQ should taste like. You can tell they put real time and care into smoking their meats. The portions were generous, the food tasted fresh, and everything we tried was delicious. This is the kind of BBQ that has you thinking about your next visit before you've even finished eating! If you're craving authentic Texas-style BBQ, Holy Smoke is definitely worth the visit. Great food, great flavor, and a place we'll absolutely be coming back to! Highly recommend!

The place is cute, the gal that helped us was super nice and went back into the kitchen to check on ingredients for us. I got Pulled Pork (which is my go-to) and the hubs got Brisket (his go-to). We were both pleased with our choices. The meats were juicy and tender. I did not get a side dish. The hubs got corn bread, he said the flavor was good but it was dry. He also got mac-n-cheese, he took maybe two bites of it and didn't finish it. He said reminded him of Kraft mac-n-cheese with some cheddar added to it (and you're talking to folks that go out of their way for a good mac-n-cheese dish). Tables were clean We ate an an off hour, so the place wasn't too busy. Easy to get a table. One thing that annoyed me was their music choice. Sure, it's called "Holy Smoke", with a halo over the O but I wasn't expecting it to be literal. When we next try them again it will be to-go, we will not be dining in. Neither one of use used the restroom while we were there, so can't speak to it. But I'd venture to guess they were clean based on what I saw of the restaurant. There's the front entrance on Main Street and a rear door, so if you park in the back you don't have to walk around the buildings. Thank you for reading my review.

Good bakery, mediocre sandwiches, shitty service…read more It was a long line and wait before getting to the front of the sandwich line to order, which was understandable since it was lunch time. Once getting to the counter to order, the lady helping me didn't seem that pleasant. As a matter of fact, no one at the sandwich counter was smiling or seemed like they had a good attitude. I ordered a Turkey Club Sandwich and the BBQ turkey sandwich. Once my mom and I got to the register, it took a LONG time before the employee at the register (Ruiz) rang us up. She seemed like she was doing other tasks and had no urgency WHATSOEVER in continuing to help the next customer in such a LONG line. Once she finally got to the register, the first thing I did was point to the Turkey Club box to let her know it was Turkey club and she immediately CUT ME OFF and said, "I know what it is" and then a second later said, "oh I didn't realize there wasn't a label." She was incredibly SNAPPY and didn't smile, which ruined my day. Overall, I wasn't content with the service at the sandwich counter. The inadequate service plus the BBQ turkey sandwich to be BARELY adequate, was completely underwhelming. Later on, I went to the area with all the baked goods and was excited to see the vast selection! The ladies there were very warm, super forthcoming to help, and absolutely pleasant. Marie was incredibly patient with all my questions and requests for everything I picked out. I was happy with her service since she was very sweet and pleasant. In conclusion, if you're expecting phenomenal service from the sandwich counter, keep your expectations extremely LOW. You'll have better luck at the bakery.

Half of the space functions as a market selling fresh produce, snacks, and essentials. The other half is a fast casual set up where you order at the counter and they bring your food to you. We ordered: -bean and cheese burrito ($11) -2 asada tacos ($3.75 each): topped with onions and cilantro That bean and cheese burrito with the spicy red salsa slapped. I felt like the ratio was a little bean heavy, but I didn't mind because the beans had plenty of flavor. The carne asada tacos were quite good as well. The meat had a nice char and the tacos are generously heaped with carne. I think the most surprising element of Crearee is their outdoor dining space. The restaurant is located off the road parallel to the main drag in Bishop. The patio area has plenty of seating with ambient music playing in the background. It's a relaxing pit stop before you head off into the wilderness. Crearee is worth a stop whether you're in need of a meal meal or just a snack.

They also have fun Mexican goodies like horchata and spicy drinks. Highly recommend the bowls, quesadillas, and burritos. Such a great road trip find!

They did have a dinner rush but still wasn't overwhelmingly busy feeling. The food did take a bit on the longer side but I promise it is worth the wait. They're a bit thicker and once crisped they can have a tug bite on them. Wish the aguachile ribeye had a side of something to justify the price as it doesn't come with rice, beans or anything else.
