They've been churning out ice cream (pun intended) for almost 50 years. Today was my first time going inside the shop. In past times, I had ordered at the window. The inside is small but packs in a lot! Candy and other treats line the walls, a beautiful display of fudge and hand dipped chocolate goodies right in front of you. The young ladies at the counter were very nice, and accommodated my request for their favorite. For this shop, I was told the cookie butter flavor was everyone's current #1. I also got some apple flavored crocodile gummies and I was on my way. The cookie butter surprised me. I expected it to be very sweet, but instead the ice cream had some lovely deep caramel notes from the cookie butter and the big chunks of speculoos cookies were soft and easy to eat without being overwhelmed by sugar. Once again another great trip to the Ice Cream Machine and a reminder to not wait so long before I visit again.

Most recently, I tried their pumpkin ice cream and it did not disappoint! You can get ice cream one of several ways. The ones I remember off the top of my head can be bought either as a packed pint, in cups, several varieties of cones, sundaes, banana splits, cookie sandwiches, and floats. Lots of toppings and sauces to choose from as well. Staff is friendly and service is pretty quick. It does get quite busy here at times, and the parking lot is tiny, which means you might have to go across the street to park. While that's not a big deal for most people, being handicapped, it's a big downside for me, especially since you'd need to cross a very high-traffic street. This is why I only gave it 4 stars instead of 5. They do have an inside area where you can order as well, but you cannot sit/dine inside. There are a few picnic tables outside that you can use, but they also fill up quickly. Inside, you can also buy things like ice cream cakes, fudge, candy and other treats. It's a little bit of a trek for me, but I will definitely be swinging by anytime. I am in the area. Definitely worth checking out!

They have windows on multiple sides of the building and a fair amount of outdoor seating. The young woman at the window enthusiastically took on my request for her favorite scoop. She presented me with a cone of strawberry cheesecake ice cream and mentioned she scooped it to have extra graham cracker swirl, which is her favorite part. Love that! Because of the heat, I opted to eat my ice cream in the car. This ice cream packs a punch in sweetness. Between the cheesecake, the graham cracker swirl and the strawberry mixed in, this is a sweet tooth's dream cone. While sweeter than my preference usually, I did enjoy this cone down to the last bite! It was a fun little trip to come by here, and it's good to know when I'm in the area, I can stop by for some quality ice cream!

Even though it's Massachusetts technically, we claim them as part of Rhode Island tradition lol One thing about Eskimo King, there is a lot of parking! The red brick building sits on the edge of a small field with picnic tables and two photos ops, you can be an ice cream cone or take a selfie in the giant Adirondack chair. It was a beautiful day to get some ice cream. The service is walk up, cash only. The red brick the perfect background for the big white signs that list every possible ice cream flavor you can think of. This was the first time I would be getting ice cream that wasn't soft serve. As I tend to do during a scoop shop month, I asked the cashier what her favorite was. She suggested coffee Oreo. A few moments later, I had my cup of ice cream. Creamy, rich coffee flavor and still crunchy bits of Oreo, a more adult version of the classic cookies and cream. It was delicious. There is no doubt I'll be back! Only a matter of when.

I think my jaw dropped to the floor when I saw that they have about 200 soft serve options to choose from and on top of that, if you don't see anything you like, you can create your own. Their hard serve list is far shorter, so I decided to choose something unique from the soft serve list like the egg nog cheesecake. It appears they only offer wafer cones since they did not ask (I forgot to ask too) and it came out in a wafer one. After a couple minutes it came out and for a kiddie, it was a good size. They have coffee and many flavor combos, and also offer a wide variety of non-caffinated beverages too. Then there is the pastries! The display case of Full of all the most delicious treats it makes it hard to choose, and it changes regularly! I went with a butterfinger cheesecake and I did not regret it. Beyond the fact that the coffee and treats were delicious and fresh, the owner is one of the nicest guys and you can tell that he truly loves what he does.
