    Cheese zombie!

Stopped on our way to Sacramento for rafting. Loved the old school zombie from the 80s! Everyone else loved their sandwiches!

The days special. Roast Beef with lettuce, tomato and Garlic Aioli on a Brioche bun.

Great little place tucked away in a small city on the Sacramento River south of Sacramento. Got the Special which was a Roast Beef Sandwich that I got on a Brioche roll with lettuce, tomato and a tasty Garlic Aioli spread. Ummmmm

I was in Iselton today visiting a local community and the manager mentioned all of the great local eateries. He said The McBoodery was a must try. I usually stay away from sandwich shops because I find them disappointing most of the time. Not today though. I had one of the Best Pastrami sandwiches that I've ever had. I enjoyed a side of homemade potatoe salad (only one of many options), and a huge chocolate chip cookie for later. Don't miss this local gem.

I eat sandwiches worldwide and this is always my go go to for a baseline. Turkey and Salami on Sourdough

You're already ahead of the game when you make your own bread. I'd show up just did that. Their chip selection was what to expect from a deli so they will for sure have what you like, drinks are about the same. The service was perfect. From the order to the built sandwich was 5 stars. Quaint little shop in a small town so it definitely felt as such. I also had their home made beef jerky and it's a go back for on the mango habanero. Sandwich's looked so big I didn't try any of their deserts but I'll be back to try it all.

Everything homemade, fresh to order & EXCELLENT! The staff was kind, perfect for a day-date or family picnic! It's worth the drive or try, if you're in the neighborhood!

Muffeleta-ish Sandwich was super packed and super delicious! The small pesto salad had no chance that I forgot to take a pic.

Stopped to grab a sando while in the area! What a hidden gem. The Muffeletta-ish sando was amazing. Fresh brioche bun packed and loaded with tasty ingredients. The pesto pasta salad was super tasty too! I want to try all the sandos on the menu but I'm only 1 person LOL! When in Isleton make a stop here.

It's very seldom that I crave for hot sandwiches but when I do- let's just say that I am super blessed to live in the same city as The McBoodery! We have our favorites on rotation: Sarah's Pastrami, The Lyle, The Lavonna to name a few. Daily Specials are usually posted on IG, keep a look out for soups or desserts! The owners are chill- they also make homemade jerkys that my husband makes sure to grab for me every now and then.

Thank you for the delicious lunch!

Perfect Size Sandwich! I ordered ahead right when they opened at 10 am. The employees were extremely friendly and kind.

I've been intending to write a review for the associated Air BnB (Martha runs it). The Grill/…read morerestaurant portion of the business has closed but Martha saved my caboose in a caffeine emergency! I was staying at an AirBnB in nearby Walnut Grove that was poorly stocked (I didn't book it - was there for a wedding nearby). Turns out - Walnut Grove isn't a grocery haven, meaning - called 6 places looking to purchase coffee to have enough for the duration of the stay (business week). I called 'grocery stores' from google & yelp - there's a 'convenience store' in town and when I called the guy who picked up seemed irritated I'd called asking about what coffee they sold. After being told they sold "coffee in a container that doesn't say how much there is, it's $14 and Folgers but it's in a container too and I don't know how much there is" (Actual quote, laughing out loud remembering), then called cafe's that make/ sold coffee (anywhere I saw latte or cup o joe) & that's how I ended up calling Martha. When she picked up "Hi, I saw that you have a cafe - I'm wondering if you sell coffee beans or grounds" to which she said "well, I have a keurig and you can have those or I can probably make a pot if that's what you prefer". After explaining my dilemma - she offered to sell me loose keurig's to get me through my stay! She seemed ruffled that my AirBnB didn't cover enough for the duration of the stay so looking forward to enjoying her hospitality at the AirBnB in the future! She was heading out to karaoke & I didn't wan to hold her up so I thanked her and relayed I'd suffer non- caffeination while we both laughed. She said I was en route and came by the AirBnB! For $4 (only cash I had on me), she gave me a huge fistful of keurigs (got me through the stay with a couple to spare!) , gave me recommendations for places in town, invited me to karaoke & to swing by the AirBnB (sounds adorable!). Martha was such a wonderful breathe of fresh air! If I'm ever in this part of Sacramento again, I know the AirBnB I'm checking out & have excellent tips on where to eat/ peruse in town! Thank you Martha!!

She gave us a tour of her B&B upstairs, history of her business and a walking tour on the street(s) of Locke. We walked to the state park behind the street and up to the river area. Lots of history here and the surrounding area. We all enjoyed ice cream after the tour. Call to schedule because Locke is small and hours are sporadic. We parked on the street but there is a public parking area in the back.
