I've been searching for weeks to find reasonably priced appliances. While I expected the big box…read morestores to offer competitive pricing, I was disappointed to find their prices significantly inflated. During my research, I discovered a family-run business that not only offered fair prices but also provided outstanding customer service--from the friendly woman at the front desk to the helpful business owner (Daniel). I'm extremely satisfied with my purchase and will definitely return for future appliance needs. Thank you! Kathleen Gatineau QC

There prices are…read morepretty high considering you run a high risk of buying something from them that doesn't work. Like me. I bought a 900 dollar fridge that ended up not working. Now, granted, the problem was intermittent so it's understandable they would have missed it during the checkup process. But, they refused to pickup the fridge without charging me 200 bucks! Imagine that. You sold me a broken machine and don't have the decency to recognize you screwed up and make it right by at least picking it up without pain. I ended up buy a regular fridge from home Depot which cost less and was delivered for free right into my kitchen.

I was extremely disappointed with how The Brick at this store handled an issue with my mattress and…read morebox order that I purchased on line. I paid an extra fee for disposal because I didn't have time to remove my old mattress and box myself. The website gave no instruction that items needed to be bagged as shown in the attached screenshot. When the delivery team arrived, they refused to take them because they were not in disposal bags from the store--bags I was never told about. They left my old mattress and box standing upright against the wall, creating a clear safety hazard in my home. I had no choice but to let them leave and then contacted customer service. Somehow, I was connected to staff at The Brick store at 565 W Hunt Club Rd, Ottawa. The store staff told me the disposal fee would be refunded but that pickup could no longer be arranged. Instead of addressing the discrepancy between the website and the delivery team, she told me to "just google someone" to pick it up. Her tone was dismissive and unprofessional, and her comment was insulting. I called to solve one problem, but her behavior created a second problem. Later, my wife was told the disposal would be rescheduled and the delivery fee waived, but this still did not address the wasted time, the extra work of driving to the store to get disposal bags and wrapping the items myself, or the unprofessional conduct of the customer service agent--none of which matched the information on the website. I requested escalation. The store manager called me but said he couldn't address the customer service issue because the customer service manager was on vacation. He also said the store was not responsible for the discrepancy between the website information and the delivery team's instructions. There was no effort to take responsibility or provide a meaningful solution. Both the original service failure and the poor handling of the situation remain unresolved. I also tried using The Brick's online chat. They created a ticket and told me I would be contacted within 48 hours. It has now been well over 48 hours (including business hours), and no one has contacted me. This has been a deeply disappointing experience, and I do not believe customers should be treated this way.

We did a kitchen reno about 3 years ago and bought all our appliance from Universal. Tyler (at the…read moretime) was superb and genuine in his follow-through. 5 Stars! Lynne has also been great! The only issue has been our experience with our Kitchen Aid induction cooktop. Thinking of buying one...? Please don't! Our 3-year old cooktop started beeping and shutting down. The Extended Warranty covered the part and after two tries the service contractor called Whirlpool (the granddaddy of all appliance companies!). They said the "part was no longer available!" They meant the Induction top board not the ubiquitous control board. As a result our Induction top/ stove is no longer reparable and is basically junkable! So we are looking to replace a 3 yo stove! So UA gets 5 stars, but Kitchen Aid gets 0! How to compute the review?

The appliance was delivered at 5.30am by a very intimidating man who refused to unpack it or lift it onto the kitchen counter. I am a 60+ year old woman and was alone in the house. His parting comment was thar he expected a positive review of the service. Universal Appliance was totally disinterested in my experience. 5.30am was dark (it was Winter), obviously, I was still in bed, clearly not expecting a delivery. I struggled to lift the appliance and had to ask a neighbour for help. Universal Appliance had said that instillation was covered by the additional cost but were dismissive of my experience. The experience was, quite frankly both disturbing and threatening. I have bought an Aga stove and the Sharp multi function microwave from this company. I will never patronize them again.

Unfortunately, what started as a very positive purchase experience with Canadian Appliance Source…read morehas turned into an extremely frustrating experience following the delivery and installation of our refrigerator. I want to start by saying that our salesman, Joshua Rennalls, was great to deal with throughout the purchase. Graham Schropp has also been very helpful in Joshua's absence and has genuinely tried to assist us in getting this situation resolved. Our 1-star rating is not a reflection of either of them. The problem began after our refrigerator was delivered and the water line was connected. The water line leaked behind the refrigerator and caused water damage to our hardwood flooring, drywall, baseboard and trim. We acted immediately once the leak was discovered to mitigate further damage. This included opening/removing affected materials, drying the area with a fan and dehumidifier and treating the affected area. We have also obtained a professional restoration estimate. CAS uses a third-party delivery company, and interestingly, the CAS invoice specifically states that when a third-party delivery service is used, the third party is responsible for liability, damages and claims arising from the delivery or services provided. Alexander from CAS did call us and, after speaking with us and the delivery team, advised us that the matter was being referred to the delivery company's insurance. Unfortunately, trying to reach him afterward has been extremely frustrating. His number has no voicemail and our subsequent calls have gone unanswered. We then spent considerable time trying to obtain the insurance claim information from the delivery company. We were eventually provided with the claim number and adjuster's information and are now dealing with their liability insurer, who is investigating the claim and has not yet accepted liability. As of today, this has been going on for approximately two weeks. Instead of simply having our home restored after damage arising from a refrigerator delivery and water-line connection, we have had to repeatedly follow up with CAS, the delivery company and now an insurance company while living with the resulting damage. We have provided photos, videos, the CAS invoice and a professional restoration estimate, and we have taken reasonable steps ourselves to prevent the damage from becoming worse. Mistakes can happen. What determines the quality of a company is how those mistakes are handled afterward. We are still hopeful that CAS and the parties involved will step up and get our home restored to its pre-loss condition. If this is resolved properly, I will gladly update this review accordingly. Again, Joshua Rennalls and Graham Schropp have been excellent to deal with. Unfortunately, the overall handling of the damage following delivery has left us extremely disappointed.

We had a very disappointing experience with Corbeil Appliances. My parents purchased a stove in…read moreAugust after clearly telling the salesperson they wanted a simple, easy to use model with no convection or extra features. They were explicitly trying to avoid anything complicated. What they were sold is the exact opposite. The stove has convection and multiple advanced features they never wanted. Worse, the knobs are extremely difficult to read, making it hard to tell which burner is on or what temperature is set. For older users, this makes the stove frustrating at best and unsafe at worst. As a result, my parents can barely use the appliance they paid for. This feels like a clear case of being sold something that did not match their stated needs. We are now left trying to resolve an issue that should never have happened. I would strongly recommend being very cautious, clearly documenting what you ask for, and double checking the exact model before purchasing.

I was working on a home project building a self watering above ground planter. I was installing a…read moremetal frame on one side that would be against the house and would not be accessible once installed. This would be used to attach a fence for plants to crawl up on. However I needed to drill some holes in the metal to connect the pieces. The drill bits I had worked great with wood but would not pierce through this metal and was in fact dulling the bits after I had recently sharpened them. Doing some research on the internet I learned that the best bits for metal were cobalt drill bits. I checked my local stores like Canadian Tire and Rona but they did not have them. I found some on Amazon but it would take a few days for delivery. Then I found Lowes had them in stock in their store. So I ordered some for pickup around 5 PM. The next day by 9AM I received an email saying they were ready for pickup. I shot down there right away and received very pleasant service from the Pick up clerk/cashier and left a very happy customer. Arriving home I was very anxious to use these bits to see if they could perform. They cut through the metal like butter and gave me a great sense of accomplishment in both the job I was doing and using a good high quality product made by DeWalt.
