DO NOT BUY FROM CANADIAN APPLIANCE SOURCE. I usually avoid negative reviews, but I feel compelled to warn others about CAS and their delivery company, First Class Appliance Delivery. The delivery service was highly unprofessional. They lied about the time window (we waited outside in the cold for over half an hour), the delivery staff appeared not to be fully lucid (they were fumbling and falling over), and they damaged both the product and my home. Despite having all the correct paperwork and photo evidence, they refused my claim for compensation. By the time I jumped through their various bureaucratic hoops and paperwork, they said it was too late because I didn't tell them on the day of the delivery (I have phone and paper records to prove that I did). They used the fact that they're two different companies (CAS and First Class Appliance Delivery) to offer contradictory advice, so when I followed the guidance of CAS, the delivery company said it was incorrect and used it to deny compensation. Their policies are designed to limit their liability, not to provide customer service. Their customer service staff are trained to sound nice while refusing to help you. I have visited this store recently in Ottawa's Trainyards shopping centre since I need a new dishwasher. There were a few people chatting in the store but I was ignored; finally someone asked what I wanted. I explained that my dishwasher broke and needed a new one. The salesman looked bored and said how about this one. I said what brand is is it. since I am looking for Bosch or LG. So he pointed to one and left me looking at it. He didn't explain features etc. So I found him and explained I researched these on line and want to see the 100 and 300 and 500 series. He simply pointed them out and left me. I had to find him so I could ask a few questions. He showed no interest in Selling me one and his attitude of bodes j difference was the rudest I have ever found. I am a senior but Imputer literate and a retired scientist. I wouldn't recommend to anyone to shop there. read more

Single mom here who just purchased a new fridge. Long story short, through no fault of my own, I was sold a fridge that doesn't fit. Bought a new washer and dryer which were delivered and installed promptly. Washer began spilling water on the floor. Contacted CAS who ignore the email then when sales person replied, stated we have to contact the manufacturer. We did, two weeks later a technician came to the house and diagnosed that the washer was delivered broken with a burnt out motor. We contacted CAS who did not answer the question about quality control testing and refused to replace the unit and insisted we go through the manufacturer who stated it will take three weeks minimum to get, deliver and install a new motor. Fridge was delivered on time and the price was fair. Unfortunately the "white glove service" for the removal of the old fridge was non existent. They refused to take it. Then did not return to pick it up as promised. We are now attempting to get our money back for the "white glove service" as we had to pay another company to remove it. Disappointing. But be aware, if one item in your order is backordered, you will have to pay the full amount for the entire order, including the back ordered item in order to have the rest of the order delivered. Terrible Service. Our washer and dryer needed to be replaced in our condo so we contacted CAS sales to replace our stacked units. Like many condos the laundry room is very tight and after giving the salesman our old GE product number, we were given the model number of the new units to replace them. We shopped around and prices were identical at other places so we just went ahead and ordered them from CAS. Big mistake. All was well until the units were installed. Dryer installation had a large rigid pipe sticking out the back which caused the units to stick forward about 18 inches from the wall. This would not allow the door to be opened once I hung it back up making it impossible to even access the laundry machines. Why the install team didn't think this was a problem is beyond me. I didn't check this closely when I signed the papers and that was a huge mistake as I learned that with this company once they leave, you are on your own. After contacting customer service and informing them of the issue, I was told to send pictures, and that they would contact the delivery team and get back to me. I didn't hear back for two days and so phoned customer service back up. After explaining the issue again, he said that he would contact the delivery department to see if any thing could be done. I asked to speak to them directly as I had some questions about options to make this work such as setting up the dryer for side venting. The customer service rep told me he didn't know about the products or how they worked because 'he was not in sales.' He then stated that only CAS employees are allowed to speak to the delivery team and I would have to communicate everything through him. Finally, later that day he called back and told me that he spoke to the delivery team and they told him that after reviewing the pictures that fixing the install would be 'too difficult for them.' I was given the option of just leaving the door off my laundry room or having them come to remove the units and refund me the money. The agent was non-committal on when this would occur and by this time we were out of clean clothes. It could have taken another week before they removed the units and a proper company could come and install some other machines. I am not a particularly handy person which is, of course, why I paid supposed professionals to install them for me. Not wanting to waste anymore time, I ripped off the pipe, watched some youtube videos, got supplies at home depot and fixed the 'too difficult' install myself, costing me time and money (when I had already paid for their "white glove installation service"). While I was fixing it, I noticed that they didn't connect the relief pipe from the drain tray under the units. This would have caused our condo to flood if the washer failed. I rarely write negative reviews but this company is so terrible, I felt as if it was my duty to warn people about this lousy outfit. Honestly, their prices don't seem better then the competitors, so save yourself the risk and hassle and just go elsewhere. IT IS MY RECOMMENDATION NOT TO BUY FROM CANADIAN APPLIANCE SOURCE (CAS) NO POST-SALES CUSTOMER SUPPORT WAS MY EXPERIENCE When buying a product, there is an inherent risk buying one that is DEFECTIVE. If you buy products from CAS and it turns out to be DEFECTIVE, be advised that the only post-sales support you are likely to receive is the phone number of the manufacturer for the product(s) in question-- that was my experience. Apparently, the type of warranty CAS provides with purchases is called a service warranty, which essentially translates to very little chance of or NO RETURNS. NO REFUNDS. Furthermore, the manufacturer with whom CAS likely has an agreement, in my case Electrolux, honours the warranty by only wanting to fix the defective product. NO RETURNS. NO REFUNDS. In my case, I was told by Electrolux that it is only CAS that can provide me with a refund or request the replacement of a new product. FINGER POINTING AND THE RUN AROUND Neither CAS or ELECTROLUX, as in my case, has any intention of refunding or replacing the DEFECTIVE dryer that has never worked and for which I've now had in my possession for 3 weeks since delivery on January 24, 2019-- the dryer continues to sit in my basement with the plastic wrapping still on it. read more

worst experience ever. terrible customer service. they are lying thieves. sold us a cooktop advertised as "Thor Kitchen" but it's actually just some generic brand that has no label. when we got the product it was totally scratched up and missing pieces and they refused to do anything about it and this is with weeks of back and forth. couldn't talk to anyone on the phone about it just kept being deferred to a diff number or email. then we had a few appliances on hold and when we wanted to purchase they said the fridge wasn't going to be in stock until September (it's July) so we said we would leave the fridge then. but then a rep got back to us saying actually they had one they could send us so they took our full payment, and as soon as we paid all of a sudden it wasn't available again until September And now won't refund the amount for the fridge. Would have given them no stars if I could. This is for the Trainyards location but I doubt it matters. Easily the worst experience I've had buying any appliance in my entire life and I'm 55 years old. Bought a small Danby fridge in late June and it took a month to come in from Guelph Ontario. I checked Google Maps and I could have walked it in faster. Then we plug it in and it can't go below 5C which is a problem since we need to keep milk there. Now the fun starts as the company tells me that I'm now on my own with Danby. So now I'm running around trying to get Danby to check the appliance which we need for an event. On their website, CAS says that "Our dedicated staff of knowledgeable, friendly sales professionals will treat you like one of the family". They must have a different concept of family than I. I ordered a freezer but I was unaware that it still had to be manufactured ... as it was taking too much time I contacted the company and Melissa Patroni explained the reason why and she informed me that it might be ready in October but there was no guarantee. She responded quickly and she was very professional. I decided to cancel my order and she explained what I needed to do, she was very courteous, to the point (which I really appreciated) and did not give me any pressure for cancelling. There's no manager at the location so you get the run around from one mailbox to another. Before signing a purchase contract, beware of a small fine print notice about a 25% cancellation fee. Appalling customer service begins after the sales transaction, due to a third-party delivery agency who subcontract trucker-brokers. There is no quality control of delivery, nor factory inspection of merchandise before shipping by the original equipment manufacturer of our fridge and dual oven. The customer must inspect everything immediately, and DO NOT SIGN any bill of lading. Customers who have damaged merchandise may notify Health Canada Product Safety branch, who then call the manufacturer for resolution of poorly-assembled / unsafe equipment and dispatch by a third party technical service group. Finally, customers must chase the third-party delivery agency for refund of the $75 delivery fee. So far, 4 months have not led to any compensation for lost time from work to be home to allow post-damage inspection and resolution. read more

But if your item breaks a week after delivery, the only response you will get from the store is: we already got your money, you're on your own now. He is knowledgeable of the products and showed us captions and giving us his professional opinions validating with all his customers review and the consumer report. If I could give -5*, I would. I am having the worst experience ever. I purchased the gas range, washer and dryer from you online over two weeks ago with the intention to buy additional entire kitchen suite and second set of washer and dryer for our in-law-suite once it's completed. And that's only my second property! Here I was, thinking I found a gold mine! Even registered for VIP. When I went online, it showed that one of the appliances was in stock and two others would arrive to the warehouse on Feb. 1st. I called the week before just to confirm and was told that I should call on the day of to schedule the delivery. Which I did! The woman on the phone told me that the date was changed to Feb. 6th for the two appliance but that you could deliver the one that was in stock. However, since I'd have to pay additional delivery, I chose to wait for the two other appliances to arrive. She told me that she will leave a note on file to deliver the appliances on the 7th but I should call back on the 6th to schedule more exact time slot. I called today and what do I hear!? The date has been canceled altogether! The appliance that was in the warehouse (THAT I ALREADY PURCHASED!!!) was gone and she has no idea when the appliances will get to the warehouse, could be two, could be three or even more weeks. What kind of scam is that!? I've been working in retail my entire life and such an experience would destroy our corporation, yet somehow your company gets away with it!? Not only is the neglect and inaccuracy of information is beyond absurd, your representatives lack any kind of training in empathy and problem resolution. Beware. Do not shop at Canadian Appliance Source. Sales is fine. Customer Service is the worst I have encountered in my life. Beware of their policies because they are not transparent until after you have made a purchase and have an issue. Apparently all sales are final, something they fail to mention. I purchased an over-the-range microwave. The box was undamaged but it was non-functioning upon arrival. I called sales and they referred me to Customer Service which appears to be centralized for all the stores. I was told I would have to complete an online form to exchange the microwave for one that worked. They sent me the link. I started to complete it and when I got to the last step I could not proceed to submit the form unless I waived my consumer rights. To submit the form, I would have had to agree that: "I understand and acknowledge that Canadian Appliance Source LG reserves the right to review this application [for exchange] and, following the terms of the purchase, sales agreement and applicable law, reserves the right to approve or decline the application at its sole discretion." In other words, sign away your consumer rights and we will let you know if we will see fit to send you a unit that actually works. I refused to agree to this term and called Customer Service. Customer Service directed me to a link with their Return/Exhange Policy--something I was not apprised of at time of purchase. Evidently all sales are final, and damage must be reported with 48 hours. Customer Service told me that I should have plugged it in within 48 hours to see if it worked. The box was not opened until it was installed. I paid for the microwave and for the installation for a unit that does not work. And apparently they don't care. Customer Service rep said he could not guarantee that CAS would approve the return. They have not seen the last of this issue. Worst corporate consumer policies I have ever seen. Checked with BBB and they have 97 complaints online. Not just me. AWFUL customer service and an all round terrible experience with Canadian Appliance Source. We purchased a full set of new appliances for our kitchen renovation. The dishwasher arrived, completely dented, delaying our reno by two weeks. By the time we went to install our microwave hoodfan and realized it wouldn't work in our new kitchen, 32 days had elapsed since our appliances were first delivered (including the damaged dishwasher). We requested that the hoodfan be returned and were given the run around by the Returns Department and Customer Service. Even after escalating our request, the return was denied. This review is of the CAS Ottawa West Store. Where to even begin. Ok, yes, CAS has deals on appliances, but buyer beware.... It'll cost you more time and energy in the end due to their complete lack of customer service. They are quick to sell you a product and take a non-refundable 25% deposit and then you are 100% on your own. It's now been over a month and my order is still not resolved. I've sent so many emails and called them so many times - I have lost track. I needed to replace the stacked washer and dryer in our condo... and wanted a store that could offer delivery and install.... seems simple enough? Well, they sure sold me, and I did see some good reviews online so went ahead with the order. The salesman Chris G. was nice enough, but he had no business helping me with the brand I was interested in (Gorenge) because he had no idea about the specs, features or special hook ups. He never followed up to check which hoses and connections were required (because it's European, It needs special hoses, and a power converter), instead he sold me Whirpool hoses - that were never needed and ended up being kept by the delivery company. I am still waiting for that refund, and we are going on day 36 of this disastrous order! Delivery went initially fine but when they went to install the machines, they realized they didn't have the right parts, tried anyway and water was leaking everywhere. I cleaned up the mess, then they left the machines propped up on an angle and said they'd be back the next day to fix it. Well of course, that never happened.... Delay, excuse, delay, excuse... days later it's now a manufacturer issue! No friends - it's actually a salesman issue - he never ordered that right parts to be sent with the machines in the first place (of course it took weeks to finally figure that all out), but had he - I wouldn't need to write this review. Every time I called or emailed to report the situation, I got a different person at "customer care" and they'd each have their own spin on how CAS isn't to blame... until finally one of them admitted it WAS the salesmans fault! Finally a small win, but they took their time, shipping one piece at a time, until I finally had all the parts needed to complete the install. It took over a month just to get those parts... so a month without any laundry. I ended up doing the install myself because I couldn't wait any longer... looking at the parts it wasn't hard once I had them all!!!! They refunded the install cost but I'm still fighting them to get the money back for those stupid hoses - which I don't even have, and never should of been sold to me in the first place. I can't believe how cavalier everyone from CAS has been through all of this. No call from a manager, no apology from anyone, no offer of an extra discount - ZILCH. So yeah - go there and get a great deal - but sure hope there is no damage, no missing parts and maybe look after the delivery and install yourself.... Since they have multiple stores, maybe some are better than others - but I still say Buyer Beware and I will NEVER shop their again. read more

Don't be deceived. Pay the extra money and don't risk buying from these guys. Things seemed great in store but as soon as they had our money it was nothing but headache after. The appliance we ordered was damaged upon delivery but we did not notice it until long after the delivery team was gone and we were trying to install the item. When we called the store, we were actually told that we had to fill out a return request. Following that, we provided photos and were told our return request was rejected because the packaging was gone. Packaging was gone because the delivery team took it away. Anyway, they have hung up the phone on my wife and have been nothing but rude throughout the process. My wife and I never complain like this as we know that stuff happens but this company lacks ethics and I hope their attitude catches up with them. read more

Uless you don't care about customer support after the sale, don't go there!! We bought all our appliance for our new home. We had issues with the Samsung stove and the LG washer. "Sorry," they said, "follow up with the companies. Not our issue." No help at all. Samsung took some prodding and we finally got a replacement stove. But LG - agggghhhh - forget it!! We are rural. They would not send a tech out and...you guessed, they won't pay for your own. What do we do? Well about 20 calls and a huge runaround later, their Philippines-based support finally delivered a new washer. We unboxed it and....yep...damaged - the whole lower portion of one side was punched in. 30-40 calls later, multiple runarounds, desperate please to CAS for help later, we are stuck with a broken washer!! Brand new. It shakes our house apart when it runs. CAS was great on the front end and absolutely dismal on the back end. Samsung was mediocre. LG - never, ever, ever, ever again! read more

It's been over 6 months and we still don't have a working hood fan. We purchased a complete set of kitchen appliances, mainly Bosch from CAS. The Faber hood fan on installation by a tech suggested by CAS, was defective. We've been trying to have it replaced for months. The sales manager Trevor Payer,our rep, always says the right things, yet is unable to have head office approve or is actually insincere. Customer service in Toronto is a rabbit hole of inaction and frustration. We tried having it replaced by a better quality fan like a Bosch. We'd gladly pay the difference. Nope, can't do that. Convoluted excuses and system. Went through service report which confirmed it was defective. This was the only item we couldn't see in the show room or test. Trevor assured us it was fine. Purchased a gas range for our new home the installer informed us that we did not have enough gas service for this range and that we needed a dual fuel range, contacted customer service and this is where the night mare begins tried three times to get the range picked up and the first two times appointments were made they were a no show on the third try I call three times to make sure they were coming and talked to mia ,and then chris and finally a driver showed charged me 25 percent restocking fee plus pick up and delivery fee, I guess my time is worth nothing on the other two occasions that they failed to show, called service manager 5 times his name is jay , he doesn't return calls, company motto states that they try to treat their customers like family, well If family treated me like this I would disown them, Zero customer service , I guess jay thinks that the best way to solve a problem is to ignore it, don't deal with these clowns if you have any issues you are on your own, they just don't care . read more

I purchased a small Danby freezer unit from CAS and within a month it failed. Because it was under manufacturer warranty, CAS directed me to Danby customer support. Once Danby sent the technician to confirm that the unit was not salvageable, they sent me a PDF copy of the notice indicating that the unit should be replaced. I phoned CAS to ask where this notice should be sent and they provided me an email address. At the time of getting the address, I was told I would receive an email response within days. After a week, I had not received a response so I contacted CAS. They indicated that they could not accept the email unless it came directly from the manufacturer. As a result, I had to request the manufacturer to send the email directly. However, CAS never confirmed the arrival of the notice and would not check to see whether they had received it. They indicated that they would contact me if they received the notice. After requesting the manufacturer again send the notice and confirming the email address, we still were not contacted. We attempted to get a CAS manager to work through the issue, but customer support refused to connect to a manager in some cases, sent us to a manager in other cases but the manager never returned the call and customer support staff told us different processes in different situations. We have been trying to resolve a replacement for more than 2.5 months after the failure at this point. This company takes no responsibility and should be avoided. read more
