This review is just for the hotel itself as I didn't stay here. I just stopped by because of its history. Spoke to the lady in the cafe who gave me the lowdown on the history. Purchased a rocks glass and t-shirt to take home. Not sure how expensive the hotel is but the place looks amazing from the grand entrance. Next time in Tulsa I will try to stay here.

    Damage done by valet

BEWARE OF THE VALET. We stayed March 7th and left our car with the valet. This is how are car was returned the next day... If you stay here treat it as if it were a rental. Take a video or your car before- it will only take a min but will save you thousands of dollars in repair! So upsetting - there is no way the valet didn't hear, feel or see what they did. They didn't report it and now we're stuck w a big repair bill.

Our trip to the Mayo Hotel was mostly due to Tulsa King and wanting to check out the city. The hotel is absolutely gorgeous, chic and has a unique history. The museum housed on the 2nd floor has a collection of famous individuals who have stayed at the Mayo hotel, that include Babe Ruth, Lucille Ball, and Elvis Presley. The room was quite spacious with a living room area, a full kitchen and a large bedroom. The location was perfectly situated downtown and walkable to a couple restaurants. I was a little disappointed there wasn't a restaurant in-house (being remodeled), but there was an attached cafe serving some lite bites and drinks. Overall, a great stay and would love to come back once the restaurant opens.

Beautiful place. We were there attending a gala. Bar service was friendly but pours were off. The ballroom is beautiful but the windows could be blinding and the room doesn't have great acoustics. Catered meal was very good for the most part.

We Love Tulsa King.... So when in Tulsa you gotta stay at the Best Hotel... The Mayo!! From check in to check out everything was perfect!!! Our room was big and spacious!!! And looked just like the show!!! I love the old charm of the hotel. I did not like the shower!! It was just odd! Also the restaurant at the hotel was under renovations so finding a nice place to eat was tough as a lot of places are closed on Sunday!!! But we managed to just grab some drinks and food at the small cafe on the property.... A bit expensive but when you are hungry!!!

Great start, utterly disappointing finish. The property is picturesque, rooms are pleasant, & like every hotel it has its share of pros (dimensions, internet, food-services) + cons (shower, maintenance, mattresses, consistency). But the management & abysmal customer service make this a "never again." It was as shocking as it was embarrassing to see the level of indecency that passes for "trained" & "acceptable" here. The low hospitality standards of the GM were readily reflected in the bad hires. There were a few exemplary representatives, like Zeek, while the rest were mildly unprofessional or strictly deplorable, like Terry. After 2 days of interacting with the latter individual, we cut our (week+) tour short & left. The lack of customer care by this employee & GM engagement appears to be the status quo, unlike neighboring hotels (Brut & Ambassador Hotel specifically). It's disconcerting to think one unfit employee could add as much value as the detracted positive remarks & hard-earned tips otherwise garnered by any remaining employees we interacted with... Hospitality is a team sport & one bad apple truly ruins the bunch. So we're already anticipating the uphill battle for a refund as consequence for giving this business the benefit of doubt. As a wedding venue or residential property, it seems to be a hit. But for a staycation/hospitality business, they make it difficult to spend money here & enjoy the rich operational history + cultural significance of this landmark hotel. 2/5

This is where we stay when we are in Tulsa. We have been to weddings, had a anniversary party here in the suite. The suite we get is amazballs. The roof top is Bomb. The bar is cool. The service is excellent & the bed is super comfy with Seferra linens. Highest Recommendations.

What a cool hotel! I stayed in a super-new hotel on a prior visit that was nice, but this time around, I wanted something historic and The Mayo certainly has that going for it. The history of this hotel is eerily reminiscent of my hometown's (Kansas City) Union Station; both were considered architectural centers of pride, and bustling businesses that eventually fell into disrepair in the 1980s, only to be revitalized and stand tall once again. There's nothing in disrepair now, as the room was nice and the lobby was stunning. As far as I know, valet is the only option unless you find street parking around, so that's what I went with. At $30 for overnight parking, it's a bit steep. I had a nice view of the BOK Center and and other areas of Tulsa from the ninth floor. I have to say, the older single-pane windows made for a little additional chill in the room, but there's an adjustable thermostat so it's easy to balance out. While I really liked my room, I wasn't as keen on the bathroom. It simply wasn't very clean, and the floor had a sort of greasy, slick texture that was less than ideal. Two of the three shower-heads had calcified over and were not fully functioning. All in all, I found it to be a fun hotel and one I would stay in the next time I visit Tulsa on business. Also, shoutout to Walter who valeted my car, I enjoyed my surprisingly honest chat with him about life and family.

    Beautiful lobby!

The Mayo is a hotel with stunning architecture and rich history woven into the every room. As soon as I stepped into the lobby, I felt like I was a 1940's film star. The lobby exudes luxury, from the stained-glass ceiling adorned with dazzling chandeliers down to the lush velvet furniture. Even the bathroom is glamorous! Next to the concierge desk, there's a gift shop that offers Starbucks coffee--I'll definitely be taking advantage of that! In addition, the Mayo also has menus for room service and their rooftop bar. My one bedroom suite is beautiful, equipped with a full kitchen, lounge area (with a pullout couch), and desk in the main room. The master bedroom is luxurious, and the bed feels as soft as a cloud. One thing about the room that I thought was a little strange is that the shower has no door. Also, we were provided with tiny bottles of shampoo and conditioner, hardly enough for one hair-washing, and no body wash. Every staff member I've encountered so far at the Mayo has been polite and welcoming, making guests feel at home.

Awesome hotel! Stayed in a suite room. Tons of space. Staff is super friendly. Rooftop bar has great views too. I highly recommend!

This one, though, missed the mark in a few spots. But first, the good... I'll start with the front desk staff, who were always friendly and greeted me upon each arrival and departure. They even mailed some postcards for me, which was really nice. The hotel is also really conveniently located. It was a short drive to almost everywhere I needed to be. In fact, if the weather hadn't been so chilly I could even have easily walked to most downtown places I visited. Now for the "meh"... My room, located on the 7th floor, had a lovely view. Other than that, it was run down and could have used a refresh. Also, housekeeping never showed up after my first night, even though I was gone most of the day. Not really sure what happened there. They did clean it the next day, though. But back to my room: from a lampshade that looked like it had been sat on to strange brown stains on the wall that had me thinking a lot about those true crime podcasts I used to listen to, not to mention the exposed wires in the wall thermostat, it gave 1-star dive hotel in many ways. The walls were pretty thin, too, and I could smell/hear the folks in the room next to me. Luckily, they put away the joints and the music pretty early in the evening, but it still detracted from the overall experience. Parking was also really weird here. The desk clerk had advised I park at the garage next store, which I did on the first night. Folks, this place was CREEPY with a capital CREEP. I especially advise against parking there if you're a solo female. And while my car was ultimately fine, navigating the enclosed stairwell and abandoned office building lobby with no visible exits just to get out of the place was not my vibe. After night one, I just used the outdoor lot next to the hotel. It was only slightly safer feeling, as it was occupied by some semi-shady characters, but at least there were various options to exit without feeling like I was trapped in an amusement park funhouse. On my last trip to Tulsa, I stayed at the nearby Tulsa Club hotel (also a Hilton property), and if/when I return I'll choose that spot again rather than the Hampton.

Hotel staff is very friendly and offer recommendations if you ask. Complementary breakfast available. Eggs, sausage and/or bacon, waffles, English muffins, scones etc. My room was clean, had body wash, shampoo and conditioner provided. My room did not get completely dark, because my room backed up to the parking lot and restaurants behind the hotel, where there were some light poles. Though the curtains are blackout, the light still seeped in from the top of the curtains. I was still able to get sleep. I just would have preferred a darker room. My stay included Friday, the first Friday of the month is the art walk. There was some loud music playing, but it was not too bad and they did not go past 10 PM. Hotel is very convenient to restaurants, BOK, museums, etc. because the hotel is in Downtown, you can expect to see a few homeless people wandering around. You may get asked for money if you were out walking about. I was asked twice as I walked across the street to Sisserou's. During my stay, I also noticed the same homeless person hanging around in the garage. My stay was good. I would recommend the hotel.

Upon arriving to our room, we noticed there were several sweet ants crawling on the night stand and on the floor to the entry of the bathroom. We went back to reception and they immediately changed our room. The room itself was very nice and comfortable. The pool was smaller, but nice. There was a sign up sheet for access to the pool and you had to request staff to let you into the pool area. They also never kept any towels in the pool so you had to walk to the makeshift lobby dripping wet to request a towel. The construction guys accidentally set off the fire alarm at 8am on Saturday. A nice employee named Hayley (sp) was there during our stay and she was very helpful. We checked in earlier than we planned to due to arriving in Tulsa earlier than expected from OKC. She was apologetic about not having a cheese plate or fudge ready. I didn't even know these things existed with the room, so apology accepted! Haha. She took us on a tour of the inn and did a great job of both detailing the history/current status and the amenities we had access to. Not too much later, she brought us the aforementioned cheese and fudge. Score! She also took care to note food allergies since they serve breakfast. I have none but my boyfriend is allergic to the Earth, so that's nice. We stayed in the Sage while we were there (Thursday night and Friday night, so two different prices). It's the only room that's not directly inside of the inn, so that was neat. It almost felt like a little cabin! It's attached but the entrance to it is outside while the other rooms are inside. It's a nice simple room. The bed is comfortable but I wouldn't rave about it. The only small downside is that this room doesn't have its own thermostat because it shares one with the Willow, the room it's attached to. Hayley set it for us to a very cool temp since it was hot out. It kept the room very cold. But we were also out adventuring most of the time. If we weren't, then we would just burrow under the blankets in bed. So no big deal, but I'm sure there are more picky people out there. Every morning, breakfast is served in the dining room at 9am. It feels a little awkward almost since the inn is so small and the breakfast is guests only. They're cooking just for you! The first morning, it was only us there. There was fruit, pancakes, and a plate of bacon/sausage/eggs. It was good stuff. Oddly good bacon. Second morning there was fruit, waffles, and breakfast potatoes/fritatas/bacon. The second was definitely the best. My boyfriend hates eggs; they did something to his family, I think. So they double downed on his bacon. Lucky dog. But the fritatas were great, so his loss. Random notes: - The TVs have a lot of channels but the TVs are tiny; maybe that's a hint to spend time with your travel partner. - ^ Speaking of which, the second floor has a drawer of toiletries that includes toothpaste, shampoo/conditioner/soap, deodorant, and *ahem* condoms ~an assortment~. Some other stuff, too. - The gated exit you use during the day is closed at some point in the evening. You'll drive out the entrance and return through the entrance using the code on your room key during later outings.
