This one, though, missed the mark in a few spots. But first, the good... I'll start with the front desk staff, who were always friendly and greeted me upon each arrival and departure. They even mailed some postcards for me, which was really nice. The hotel is also really conveniently located. It was a short drive to almost everywhere I needed to be. In fact, if the weather hadn't been so chilly I could even have easily walked to most downtown places I visited. Now for the "meh"... My room, located on the 7th floor, had a lovely view. Other than that, it was run down and could have used a refresh. Also, housekeeping never showed up after my first night, even though I was gone most of the day. Not really sure what happened there. They did clean it the next day, though. But back to my room: from a lampshade that looked like it had been sat on to strange brown stains on the wall that had me thinking a lot about those true crime podcasts I used to listen to, not to mention the exposed wires in the wall thermostat, it gave 1-star dive hotel in many ways. The walls were pretty thin, too, and I could smell/hear the folks in the room next to me. Luckily, they put away the joints and the music pretty early in the evening, but it still detracted from the overall experience. Parking was also really weird here. The desk clerk had advised I park at the garage next store, which I did on the first night. Folks, this place was CREEPY with a capital CREEP. I especially advise against parking there if you're a solo female. And while my car was ultimately fine, navigating the enclosed stairwell and abandoned office building lobby with no visible exits just to get out of the place was not my vibe. After night one, I just used the outdoor lot next to the hotel. It was only slightly safer feeling, as it was occupied by some semi-shady characters, but at least there were various options to exit without feeling like I was trapped in an amusement park funhouse. On my last trip to Tulsa, I stayed at the nearby Tulsa Club hotel (also a Hilton property), and if/when I return I'll choose that spot again rather than the Hampton.

The whole place just had this cozy, welcoming energy that made it the perfect place to rest. Clean and great views from our 8th floor room. And I have to admit, I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the hotel, and the overall quality of the experience. The hotel is located in the arts District and conveniently situated within blocks of multiple restaurants bars and cultural institutions. This is not an extremely large hotel. I believe it's only four floors with only two of the floors for hotel guest. That being said. I was really happy with my room, especially the fact that I have both a microwave and a refrigerator in the room. In addition, the room was pretty well appointed with a sizable desk and a small couch and coffee table that offered work options on either. Customer Service is pretty good and they do include breakfast at this location so this is definitely a place I will keep at the top of my list when returning to Tulsa.

I asked to switch rooms, and while the front desk initially said there were rooms available, they later said they couldn't help and that the hotel was full. The way this was communicated felt dismissive and unfriendly. There were also maintenance issues: the safety deposit box was broken, the shower splashed water everywhere due to a poorly designed shower head, and the lighting in the room was inadequate. I needed a desk to work and asked to switch rooms again, but was told no in a way that felt unwelcoming. Overall, not a great experience. I wouldn't recommend staying here.

Not only did I enjoy my stay, but I was greeted at the front desk by the most courteous and helpful staff - Sawyer (who was also my booking agent). I stayed in the winter so I will have to experience the rooftop next visit....I did make a short trip to visit the "center of the universe" (which is not far from the hotel).

I was able to check in at the airport via the app. They gave me a virtual key and I was able to bypass the front desk and go straight to my room. The room itself was really nice. The rooms are a nice size and fairly clean (we were introduced to a few large brown crickets during our stay.) ; the shower tub area is very small. The fixture in the tub should probably be replaced as it's hard to regulate the correct water temperature. The tub around the drain is starting to rust. We used the free shuttle a number of times and the drivers are friendly and pick you up on time. That's what most themed hotels, there are no freebies, such as Continental, breakfast coffee, etc. This hotel has a restaurant bar and also a coffee shop where there is free water! If you're in to swimming, you might want to stay at this hotel just for the pool. It's large, crystal clean and includes a hot tub. The hotel is located in a quiet area, which appears to be on the edge of downtown.
