It is very difficult getting a response from Dan. There were several times we attempted to meet up and it wouldn't happen. Finally he had me call him over FaceTime to discuss what needed to be done for our project. The issue is a shared wall between myself and neighbors and Dan said he has experience dealing with this. I sent him photos for our quote since he said that would be all he needed. This was on 11/30. I never heard from him again despite calling, texting, and reaching out thru Yelp. It's very disappointing but I guess it's to be expected when someone is already difficult to reach at the onset. In any case finding a reputable contractor who is reliable and response is key in any project. If you have someone that doesn't respond or reply its red flags for sure. Update: Thanks for responding, Dan. Your reply actually proves my point. For the record, I never asked you to help with anything "fake." I asked for a quote -- the one you said you could give based on photos -- and then you stopped responding. That's all this was about. If you simply told me this project was not for you that would have been the end of it. You ghosting and then responding to me on Yelp in such an unprofessional manner is what is crazy. Calling the situation "fake" also shows a misunderstanding of California property law. Tree-root damage to a shared wall is a real, common issue here, and nothing I described was unusual. Your decision to jump to insults is exactly why I warned others about your lack of basic communication and professionalism. read more

Dan did an exceptional job on designing and constructing the concrete and planters for our new firepit area. Working with the space, he offered an original design and added several items at a discounted rate. Additionally, the customer service was unparalleled and was one of the few good experiences we have had with contractors. We plan to do more concrete work in the future and will certainly use the Masonry Team again. read more

Dan went out of his way and above and beyond to repair a decorative stone tile wall for us. He was very communicative, extremely polite and courteous, and very good at his job. He sourced the material that most closely matched with our existing wall tile and delivered it prior to doing the work. On the day of the job he was prompt, made sure to minimize messes, and checked with me throughout the process to ensure I was satisfied with the results. I had some specific requests that he honored without hesitation such as leaving access behind the wall for a junction box, and a hole shaped for an electrical outlet in the corner of the room. The work is very clean, and nearly seamless. it's very difficult to see where the old wall ends and his new work begins. On top of all this, his pricing is very competitive. I had another quote from a different company and it was about double what Dan quoted me. I highly recommend Dan and I will absolutely be hiring him again. read more

Watch out for this guy. He came out and gave me an estimate agreed on the project. He did ask for a ridiculous amount of money upfront. The project was supposed to be $1800. He wanted $1000 on the first day. I mentioned to him the 10% is a required amount and he said well if you want me to do the job I want $1000 upfront. I did agree to give him $1000. I gave him a check. So he goes to the bank and apparently he's red flag and he blew up my phone all day about that. I needed to pay him the thousand dollars. I did I gave him a check that was good and he even said my bank said there's plenty of money in the account. So I tried to Zelle him the money because he was harassing me and because he's the first time recipient, I could only give him no point of investment options together for $500 that day and I told him I'd give him the next 500 the second day. He came out to my house the second day grabbed his tools and said I broke the contract and walked off the job. I did not break the contract. It's not my fault that he's Red flagged at the bank. I gave him a check. So he walked away with $500. He did two hours worth of work if That and I would not! Ever higher this person if I were you, I don't know how he got a couple good reviews he's a smooth talker watch out for him. Find somebody else to do your job. This is his way of scamming you he asked for a large amount of money upfront and then he walks off the job. I'm just glad I didn't lose $1000. read more

We had our patio extended. Did everything we asked, plus. They moved existing sprinklers that were in the way of the new patio, as well as re-planted plants that were in the way. They added a decomposed granite to an existing planter and cleaned it up beautifully. We had a few delays due to the constant rain events but once the rain finally stopped, Daniel was here to finish the job. We have already referred them to our friends, Very pleased with the final results. read more

I am writing this to update my last review. We spoke with Daniel three or four times since my review in October 2023, and Daniel agreed to come back and finish the work. He asked if we would first take down the Yelp review before finishing the work. We told him that we would consider taking it down after he satisfactorily completed the work. He agreed, and again, did not show up or call to communicate the change in plans. On at least two occasions, he committed to a return date, which caused us to shift our work schedules, and then he no showed. Working with Daniel Ruvalcaba has been the most unprofessional experience to date. At this point, I wouldn't allow him back on my property due to his blatant dishonesty, unprofessionalism, and stealing of our money without completing the work. read more

I contacted Daniel to get an estimate on a concrete slab and stucco for my cinderblock wall. Daniel and his team helped me install a solid and beautiful planter retaining wall (stone veneer). Although there were pauses of the project due to raining and materials being out of stock, Daniel's crew came through and complete the project. He offered me a ride to the supplier to pick the caps and it helped a lot because the color was slightly different from the photos. Also, the caps were very heavy so it took him two round trips to transport them with his truck and he didn't mind. His crew haul away all the old wall materials and did a nice job cleaning up my backyard. He even came back a second day to apply sealer to the stone veneer and caps free of charge after the grout dried. I am pleased with the result and would recommend Daniel for similar projects! read more

I dont normally write reviews on Yelp, but working with Daniel and The Masonry Team was truly a game changer for my husband and I. Daniel is passionate about delivering clean and quality work. He worked meticulously in making our vision come true while also helping us elevate our initial design with his expertise. He is honest, straight forward, and catering to your needs. He held a timely and open communication with us during the entire duration of our project. We are really grateful for his transparency while working with him as that is often hard to find among general contractors. Him and his team did incredibe work and we will be working with Daniel in the future. If you are considering this company, we would highly recommend. read more

Great experience from start to finish. Jesus helped me out, and he was quick and informative. I had a clogged sink, and I upgraded my service for a deeper clean given all the sludge we found. I normally don't write any type of reviews unless warranted. In this case the work was well deserving. I needed a unique driveway (RV) parking put in my front yard. I reached out and had several contractors come out including Daniel from The Masonry Team TMT. When paying for a large job I take the time to get to know the person as well as their work ethic prior, during and after the job. Daniel was professional, on time, listened and made every effort to accommodate me. I initially took some time off from work to observe the job being done and found out soon enough his work crew showed up on time, professional and cleaned up the work site at the conclusion of each work day. They only missed one day due to rain however still stayed in contact with me if their was a chance the rain would stop to still show up, Not only did they do the Masonry work they also landscaped a small garden had an electrician set up a power box and prepped my yard for artificial grass. Daniel informed me up front they only do one job at a time to focus on the project 100%, which was true because he would not start my project earlier which I was hoping for. This is a true reference to how most businesses and there work ethic is still around if you take the time to look for it. I am having Daniel and his work crew do additional work around my home. Take the time to get to know Daniel and you will see why this review is a true depiction of hard work and professionalism. Lee read more

Daniel and his crew came through for me and I'm more than ecstatic and happy with his service. The initial job was completed with no issues at all and my front and back yards look pristine and clean which is what I was going for. If anything came up he would ask me before proceeding. It is a pleasure to look at it and enjoy their wonderful work. I had a few additional items I asked him for that were not part of the initial contract and he came through. He is a talented honest young man who will go out of his way to satisfy you and make sure you are completely happy with his work. I know if I have any future projects I can always call on Daniel and he, if time permits will try to fit me into his schedule. I definitely would recommend him. read more

Daniel was very responsive and had great customer service until the job was completed. Once we noticed he had broken a pipe while removing tree roots he quickly disapeared. We asked him to come back and remove the small area of concrete so we can have the pipe replaced and then replace the concrete. We would even pay for the new material. After 2 weeks he finally responded saying he would come on Saturday. He never showed up and we haven't heard from him again. The concrete slab was only 2'x12". A tiny portion of the driveway. Very disappointing. read more

I have been trying to get someone to do this project for months. Most of the contractors wanted to expand this project to essentially replace all the paving at a much greater cost. Masonry Concrete, however, was able to inspect the job and gave me a reasonable quote for removing the underlying roots and restore the original flagstone paving. It took two days of work but the result was excellent and the paving pushed up by the roots is all level and looks original. Thanks Daniel! read more

Getting my side yard project was great working with Daniel and his team. He understood my concerns and budget and was able to accomplish this with a competitive quote. It was about 450SF of concrete, including hauling of a bunch of grade and pavers, and the relocation of some sprinkler control pipes. They were able to complete it in two days, even staying late to finish because of the weather slowing things down. 5/5 rating. read more

Unprofessional. Daniel from the Masonary team didn't come through and just completely stopped responding to us. At first meeting he seemed to be very professional and knew what he was talking about. I called, left voicemails and texts inquiring about our quote, but he never responded. Hope nothing happened to him, but I don't have time for companies being so unprofessional. read more

The Masonry Team was one of the few businesses that was willing to take on a small project that our HOA had asked us to fix (removing 12 in x 23 ft of concrete). Most other businesses we reached out to declined the job because it was "too small" but they were willing to do it and were great with responses. They finished the task quickly and included hauling away the old concrete in their price. Definitely would recommend, in fact we recommended their business to our neighbor who also got her patio fixed by them. read more

I called this Company and they sent one of their Plummer's because we had a clogged kitchen sink. It was a quick response. When he got here, he started off with using his camera to stick in the drain to see what was the clog. Then he said his camera would not go more then 5 feet and I suggested that he just snake the drain. He said he was not comfortable snaking the drain because he was afraid that the snake cable would get stuck. He then recommended a hydro blast service that was 500$. He said he could do it for 350$. And all that without even snaking the drain. A real Plummer would know how to fix a drain. I declined, I paid him and left. Waste of money, I think he just came here to sell me the blasting service. Ugh. Don't recommend this company. read more

I had a delay due to city permit issues but part of the work had already started and I had already made a partial payment. However, Daniel kept his word and promptly finished the job as soon as the permit issues were resolved. His word is solid and his work is second to none. Oh yeah, his rates are super competitive. He is a people person so he will work with you. By the way, the city permit issue had nothing to do with Daniel and he could have moved on and left me high and dry. But this is a person of high integrity, a rarity in today's time. Thank you Daniel and team! read more

Danny and his team are incredible - I cannot recommend them highly enough! We recently renovated our back yard, adding a pool, and had to contract out the decking and patio at the last minute. Not only did Danny provide a competitive quote but his work was impeccable and his team was a pleasure to work with. Most concrete companies wanted to change our design because it had complicated elements - grading, wrap around steps, and breaks for rocks. Danny was able to do it all perfectly! He was highly responsive and when he ran into minor issues, he always came up with the perfect solution and communicated his ideas and plans. We loved his team so much that we had them do our landscaping too and it came out beautifully! In addition to clearing the grass, grading and planting drought tolerant natives, he did our mulch, decomposed granite pathways, and installed our steel veggie beds. In the process of renovating our yard, we worked with many contractors. Danny was by far the best. He was kind, listened well, was always willing to take on additional elements without pause, and quick in getting everything done. Hire him today - you won't regret it! read more
