I called and spoke to Luis the owner about a job I wanted done in my backyard that was time sensitive. Luis came out not once, but twice because I changed the layout of we wanted to fit our budget but also so that the kids can have room to play in our backyard. Luis was eager, reliable, responsive, and professional. He listened to all of my wants and concerns and helped me complete my project in the timeframe I requested, which was about a week and a half. He also saved us money because he stated we did not need drains , when 2 other local masonry businesses said that we did. I had a ton of questions and sent many texts but wasn't sure when and if I was ready to start our project but Luis was patient, and answered all of my questions immediately. Luis had a personal family matter that he needed to tend to but made sure to update me and continued to show up to finish our project. The outcome was exactly what we envisioned. They did a great job demolishing a 40 ft planter wall section that was falling apart and was totally crooked probably built by the previous homeowner as the rest of the yard there was a nice professionally built wall with an attractive stone vaeneer and a bull nose cap. I just have to add that proper leveling is pertinent when you're having the cement work done. A neighbor just had their backyard cemented and although there's a drain, there's still a large puddle of water that continues to sit because it wasn't leveled properly. Luis and the team at LR Masonry did a fantastic job on the concrete pavement in our backyard patio. Luis was very responsive with great communication throughout the entire process. Their pricing is fair, and he's punctual and accommodating with the schedule. Due to the very narrow access to our backyard, he was not able to bring in large machinery for the demo and grading. Luis and his team had to do all the demo grading work by hand. The ground at our entire yard had a pitch with a significant grade difference from one end to another. They effectively imported dirt/gravel, graded, and compacted the area to a leveled flat pad by hand. Amazing skills! From building the concrete form work, installing rebars to pouring concrete, and finishing were all completed within a day. The final product is beautiful, and it shows their attention to details. Luis Roman is an expert craftsman and a good man to trust with your project. I had signed a contract for the repair with another masonry company who quoted about 25% more with no help identifying someone to repair iron and gate. I rescinded contract after several weeks with no communication or fixed date for the job. None of these problems with Luis--he let me know what he was doing, when he would be doing it, what could delay the job (example--rain) and the expected charges for labor, materials, demo, and disposal. He also identified a skilled iron worker who he arranged with my permission to do the repairs while I was out of town. Luis completed the job in full and on time. He even went above and beyond by getting the steel done as well (Thank you Emilio!) and by doing a me a favor when my pet sitter left the garage door open. I got several quotes and talked with several contractors and ultimately went with LR Masonry. Ultimately, Luis took on the job in February, did the demo on the downed wall before the county shut us down to review permits and their records. We needed to have cinder block columns and bricks removed from an existing block wall and the installation of new bricks where the bricks were removed in preparation for a vinyl fence.
