Another great night at the Marsh. Pretty much get the same thing each time. Salad, buffalo wings, cracklin fries and a cheese pizza. Sometime I get the French onion Soup and a burger. I have really enjoyed everything here. Bush bar scene and maybe a dozen more tables. Have waited a few times but they tend to move you along. The onion soup is honestly delish. Pizza is as good as it gets on the south shore. We love the cracklin fries extra crispy with all the junk on them. The wing are great too. Tough to find a place that nails it all so consistently. Staff has been consistent for years and ten to be fast and friendly. Only gripe is the food may not come out coursed the way you want. Went for lunch today with a couple of gal pals. We all had French onion soup which was yummy and we split an order of fish tacos. There were 3 of them so we each got one.. also yummy. Ordered take-out. Told it would be 20-25 minutes. Went in 20, took order home (1.5 miles away) pizza was cold, cheese hard already. Someone got our fresh pizza and we got an old order. Crackle fries were cold and limp. While telling my daughter, she also had a horrible steak tip salad days before. Little tiny chips of meat, small amount, considering the up charge . Today my husband and I had lunch at The Marsh and we were impressed. We were seated at a high top table on the bar side of the restaurant. We had a free appetizer coupon from getting pick up pizza from The Marsh in December. (The pizza we got for take out was great! The extended family loved it.) We ordered bourbon steak quesadilla as an appetizer. Very tasty but filling. I had a fig and marscapone ravioli as an entree. I adored it!!! My husband got a bacon cheeseburger and we laughed when the bun came out branded with the restaurant name. The service was a little slow, but we'd still return. read more

Seated at 630pm and didn't receive food until about an hour later.... Food was decent but barely even hot. Received burger before our salad app....Bar side was at capacity and server was completely alone. She was friendly and extremely apologetic but shame on the management for not adequately staffing in order to attend to customers. My last visit was a disaster. Someone in the bar set off the fire alarm and we "enjoyed" 30 minutes of a blaring 90-95 decibel fire alarm. Manager never apologized or did anything go back behind the pizza bar to continue making takeout pizzas without any regard as to what his customers were experiencing. Spent a week down in Marshfield on the ocean. On the way down, we (4 of us) stopped at The Marsh - right upon entering we were greeted by our waitress Ericka, who was AWESOME. We had the coal fired wings which were the BEST wings we have ever had, just AMAZING!!! Delicious Caprese Salad, Fresh Mozz, fresh basil and a delicious Balsamic Glaze - Guys ordered buffalo tenders that were so many we had to take some home and they enjoyed them the next day heated up, both said they were just as good as the day before!!! We loved it so much we went back again and received great service and great food. Keno too!!!! I want to go back to try the pizza which were coming out of the kitchen looking FABULOUS!!! The help is kind and considerate but they were struggling to keep up on a recent Saturday afternoon.Scheduling could be a part of the issue. But living in the neighborhood we go every once in a while and have noticed portions are smaller ( fries ) but worse was the $16.99 calamari appetizer! It was a tiny portion and came doused in sweet chili sauce along with a aioli!!! WHY? It was already soggy and soaked with sweet chili!! Haven't been in many years. Decided to try it again and got take out pizza. Aside from it being flavorless(the sauce is the issue), the order was wrong. Ordered an onion, pepper and pepperoni and got sausage instead. Also ordered a Greek salad and got a plain salad with brown lettuce. Pizza is amazingly good. Take out or dine in. Friendly wait staff. Great selection of beers, wine, and other drinks. Favorite local spot for an informal meal or apps and drink. Family and kid friendly. Lots of TV's featuring sports. Convenient location. Plenty of parking. Restaurant side is quieter than the bar side but both are pleasant and comfortable. I had gone here on 02/24/2024 with a friend for a lunch. The place was busier than normal for a Saturday afternoon which was a nice surprise. We were able to quickly get seated in the bar area at a high top near the window. We ordered the coal fired wings as an appetizer.They were great, especially if you like coal fired wings with a char on them. The blue cheese dressing that it came with was one of the best i've had so far. We also ordered a pizza which we created with Caramelized onions, mushrooms and italian sausage. All of the ingredients including the sauce was very flavorful and top notch. I even enjoyed eating the edges of the crust which I rarely do. Atmosphere was nice on a windy, cold Saturday afternoon. Service was a bit slower than usual as I don't think they were prepared for the crowd. The server we had was very cheerful and pleasant when she was at our table though. We ordered 52 wings for pickup. When we got home there was no napkins, no sauces , no carrots and no celery. We called The Matsh and asked the lady who answered the phone who was polite if this is the standard practice for no assortments? She was not sure and had no answer. Chose location at random without reading reviews, started reading them while sitting down and all the most recent are great reviews and honestly i have nothing bad to say about this place. The place has a bar that looked entertaining, booths and tables in the dining area, outside dining when not COLD and TV's if you like sports. To the food: get the wings. I went with mild (Maryland spice) which are heavy on the spice but not aggressive and plain for the kiddo. Nice sized wings for sure. I also went with cheese pizza for the kiddo and bourbon steak tip "STEAK TIPS ON A PIZZA" o...m...g!!! To freaking die for (not literally but you get me). Pizza was delicious- crispy crust, sweet sauce, just enough cheese, and not too much flop! :) Coal fired wings were great with the caramelized onions on top. Didn't come with any dipping sauce, so had to ask for some. Fried dough balls for dessert were so good. Huge portion! Only "complaints" causing me not to give it 5 stars is the service. Waitress seemed aggravated to be working and the layout of the restaurant is weird. Wasn't sure when we walked in if it was a take out place, sit down, a bar, etc. No set spot to wait for food if picking up so people were awkwardly standing behind tables where people were eating waiting for food to be brought out. Guessing the 20-30 minute pick up estimate was more like 2-3 minutes and it just sat out the rest of the time. So when you get home, pop it in the oven. First of all, this place Is so unorganized. There is not sign to tell you where pick up or dine in is. The staff does not greet you so you have to guess if it's your turn or not . Place a pick up order for a buffalo chicken pizza. Was given 20 mins for pick up. The girl took my money for pick up and never check if the pizza was ready. I waited another 15 minutes before I check in my order. It was in the back the whole time just getting cold . The pizza look sad needed more ingredients for $17.07. The Marsh is a good, casual, local place to drop by for a quick bite. Their salads are terrific, as is their pizza. It is not a "South Shore bar pizza", and as much as I like those, it's good to have a different type occasionally. This is larger and has a wider crust around the edge. It varies in crispness, as you can see by looking at the pizzas around the bar (where everyone likes to sit, partly for the view). I like mine a little crispier (less floppy) and ask for it that way. Their Greek salad is wonderful, as is the Caprese with balsamic. If you want a carb-free meal they have many options, the most obvious being their wings and tenders with a huge variety of good sauces. Their burgers and fries are also tasty. Service is a bit of a problem, as it seems to be at most places lately. Last time we went there, the bartender was alone at the bar, and she was making drinks for the whole restaurant. So it took about 20 minutes to get menus and order drinks. I like that they renamed it The Marsh since it sits beside marshes (so much better than Pizzings). It's too bad the building wasn't built right up next to the marshes with a deck overlooking them, and the kitchen facing Route 139, instead of the patrons facing 139. But all in all, it's a good place to stop. read more

I work in the food industry and understand that the kitchen gets busy!!! Unfortunately, timing seems to be a huge issue in their kitchen!! We like the pizza, so we keep returning.....unfortunately....any side item...French fries or onion rings seem like they were dropped in the fryer without any communication as to when the pizza will be done cooking. As soon as the fry cook gets his ticket, he drops that item....then they sit there and get cold and soggy and are basically inedible by the time they reach there destination. I have a mixed review of the Marsh. I think that the renovation is beautiful and absolutely loved the redesign of the bar area - it lends itself to people being more interactive with each other. There is a great beer on tap selection as well. The bartender, Janice, was very knowledgeable about the area and offered for us to taste the beer before we decided which and this was nice. We were there on a fall day and the bar was freezing cold inside so I wasn't comfortable and had goosebumps the whole time, which was unfortunate - maybe the a/c was set for when the bar is crowded - but it wasn't. We ordered pizza and there was a man next to us at the bar that told us it wasn't as good as it was before (when it was pizzings). Wanting to get our own opinion, we ordered a margerita pizza with mushrooms. There was only about 5 small mushrooms and I think it was not worth the extra cost. The sauce was very bland and tasted like it came straight from a can. The cheese kind of coagulated after one bite and then it was just a bread crust with a thin coat of bland sauce. I am not sure how the rest of the food is, but hopefully better than the pizza. It did take a while to come out of the kitchen considering there were only 5 customers in the place and the rest were just drinking. Hopefully they are working through "kinks" and the food service will imrpove and the pizza will taste better. There is a lot of pizza competition in Marshfield and I hope the Marsh makes it! read more

I am so glad this isn't near my house as I would be here a few times a week. I had the coal fired wings. They were excellent. I had a cheeseburger with bleu cheese and mushrooms. They sautéed the mushrooms first. It was excellent. The fries came out just the way you want them in their own little basket. They weren't soggy or burned. Just seasoned correctly and cooked.
