The hostess saw me and immediately came to the door and motioned/instructed me to back up and wait. She got someone to alter the door to accommodate me and the knee scooter. So cool!!! She also set me up in the corner against the wall so I could prop my foot up on the back bench. So nice. The service started off outstanding!!! I ordered the Greek salad and split the mac and cheese with my friend and had ice tea. The Mac and cheese was good and creamy. I loved the Greek salad with kale and red quinoa! The quinoa was very subtle. The whole salad was a refreshing re-do. I was impressed. Looking at other meals, everything looked so good. Dined with a large group, convenient location to walk to from hotel. it was really busy around happy hour on a weekday, nice facilities & vibe overall- but a bit challenging to hear conversations. Charcuterie board was pretty amazing. Meatball appetizer also good, mezze & chips & salsa were average. Entree steak was good, good portion for me but not for a big eater. Liked that it came w arugula. Miso salad was a bit overdressed for my taste but overall tasty & next time I should order dressing on the side as my colleague did. There was a ridiculous delay with several of the entrees- so much so that 1 person gave up & canceled her dinner & others didn't start eating until others were done. unacceptable especially for a pre fixe situation that they knew there was a large party-But our poor flustered server was extremely apologetic & communicative. I rarely ever give out reviews on Yelp... but, this one deserves one. I was on travel for work in Chicago back on 07/30/2019 and was looking for a quick bite to eat in between meetings and did a quick search a la Google. My wife was with me on this trip so I thought this would be a great time for a little date like lunch. I hear the patio is where it is at, but when I showed up, just like baby Jeus... there was no room in the inn, so we opted for a high top. I heard you need reservations usually, but we slid right on it. No lie, our waitress Brittany was pretty awesome. I don't usually say I am impressed with the wait staff, but she went the extra mile to make sure we had a great time. She was friendly and fun and made a great impression on us about the restaurant and what we were in for. The food: I had the Marq burger and my wife had the summer goddess. I am attaching what I saw and the burger saw before it met its demise in my belly, my wife's food didn't get a picture because I was to busy eating my food. I hope this photo does the burger justice because it was amazing. Brittany was quick to make sure everything stayed filled, had a pleasant conversation, and for once my wife didn't seem mad that I was talking to another female, heck I think my wife talked to her more than me! I agree with other folks that this place is good for large groups. I also agree that the menu is all over the place, but I think sometimes that's a good thing especially with large groups. I went to dinner here with colleagues and had a generally positive experience. Service was good--quite attentive and I never found myself looking around to flag down the server. I only had one drink, but I noticed refills for others happening promptly. Appetizers were pretty tasty. I tried the bruschetta with burrata, fried shishitos, poutine, toast with ricotta, and chicken samosas. The ricotta was probably my favorite. The bruschetta had good flavor but the burrata was on the drier side. I've had burrata that exposes a much creamier interior once you cut into it. For my main dish, I had the scallops. I was interested in the steak but when I asked for it "mooing" our server advised that it could only be medium because it's stir fry. The scallops were served on a bed of braised short ribs, topped with bacon, and accompanied by tiny honey glazed carrots. Everything on the plate went well together and it was delicious. Reading the reviews, I wish I had ordered the burger, but I had a big sandwich at lunch and was watching my starch consumption. It sounds like I will have to come back to try the burger. The only letdown was my drink. I ordered the Fresa Picante, which sounded really yummy but had a weird after taste that reminded me of cough syrup. I should have stuck to wine. Took my family there for dinner after work. The locations is very convenient if you are working or staying in the loop. A construction was going on at the time making it harder to find. The inside is very modern with dim lighting. It wasn't too busy at rush hour on a work day. The host was welcoming and let us pick where to sit. The menu was simple, mostly American food. We ordered some burgers, putin, corn risotto and scallops. My family really liked the burgers and loved the putin. Putin was definitely the best dish out of what we ordered. The corn risotto was on the bland side. The scallops were good, a little over priced for the size. B the Brussels sprouts side dish I got was very salty. In general, the service and food was pretty good. But there's nothing really special about the menu to make this place stand out. read more

This place is great to get drinks after work ...works for me as I work literally in the same building ;). Really good for groups/Happy Hours although the font seem to have any happy hour specials during weekdays(I've been there twice on Wednesdays). They have some nice collection of beers(Golden Monkey, my favorite so far) wine and other mixtures. Spacious and lively enough inside. Food is good too ! One tricky thing about this place is the Restrooms...they are in the left corner of the back entrance and not that easy to find which you would need when you are sitting down fro drinks at this place :D read more

This place was outstanding! The food was excellent and the service on point. What I liked the most as well is that it wasn't super busy when we came by. We arrived for early dinner on Saturday and it just started to get busier when we were about to leave. Having a reservation is a huge plus in Chicago. We tried the vegan sugo which was incredibly delicious! My kids had the peanut butter and jelly and fries, which they deemed the best pb&j ever. My other one had the ribs with mashed potatoes and loved it too. Hubby had the chicken burger and thought it was scrumptious! Everything was smooth. I ordered the sticky ribs because they were described as "fall off the bone deliciousness" so how do you resist that? They didnt look like anything special, but let me tell you when I bit in, the description could not be more accurate. The meat fell off the bone and was tender perfection. I also can't really handle spicy food, but the sauce was extremely mild, which made it enjoyable. Sides included fries, which were alright, and roasted brussell sprouts which were very tasty, with some pieces super crispy and others more tender. I wasn't sure what to expect but I was satisfied with my order. I'm a huge fan of eggs Benedict & after realizing they also had an English muffin sandwich I was sold. Like many places in this area they're not open on weekends & unfortunately breakfast establishments have been letting me down lately. Truthfully the "spicy glaze" of the chicken was a weird contrast to the hollandaise but not enough of a deterrent to make me dislike the dish. Twas simply different. I also have to state that the cheese they used was delicious in addition to the poached egg was cooked perfectly & arrived intact albeit being delivered from the loop to River north via a motorbike lbvs. The English muffins are huge but be advised the benedict comes with one slice as opposed to two slices for the "commuter" sandwich. Fantastic fried chicken sandwich with sweet and spices flavor. So good. I got just a slider trying to be healthy but after a bite of the chicken sandwich would definitely get next time. We were there on a Monday night and they were very busy - probably a combination of theater-goers and Christmas shoppers.The menu has a reasonable number of choices with everything from appetizers, to salads, to sandwiches, to entrees. My wife attempted to get the tortellini, but they had just sold the last portion, so she went with the chicken roulade, which our waitress told us is also a favorite. I opted for the sticky ribs. The chicken roulade was exceptionally tender, with a very nice vegetable accompaniment. My ribs fell off the bone as advertised, and had a great sticky coating that was wonderful. The ribs came with hand cut, fresh french fries that were hot and tasty, and the most amazing brussel sprouts I've ever had. I'm not a huge fan of brussel sprouts, but these were roasted with cranberries and smoked almonds in a malt vinegar sauce. If you didn't tell me these were brussel sprouts, I'd have been hard pressed to tell you what they were. My wife is a huge brussel sprouts fan and she loved them as well. Our service was attentive and efficient, and food came out quickly and was hot and fresh. There is a full bar and a reasonable wine selection with some options we were not familiar with, but that were very good. I'd definitely recommend The Marq, but if you're there pre-theater, you may need to have a reservation or be willing to sip a drink while you wait. read more

Our lunch at the Marq was very good! I'd totally recommend making the savvy play of ordering a cup of soup and their side salad for $10 total rather than paying $15+ for a sandwich or salad alone. We had the southwest chicken tortilla soup which was amazing. Really quite delicious- chunky corn and beans in a flavorful broth with tortillas. The salad was kale and romaine lettuce with Parmesan cheese and a light dressing. I wouldn't preferred more dressing or maybe a more tangy dressing because it was a little flavorless. But not bad at all. Very fresh. I would want to return and try something else- the burger we saw someone else order looked really delicious. Our waiter was great- attentive to refilling our water. Above-average spot for friends and family. Nice atmosphere with great service at a prime location close to Grant Park and the art institute. Wasn't busy when we arrived around 7pm Friday and was sat without any wait. Our entire table got the Marq burger with fries which was solid. Decent portion size and the meat was cooked through. Sort of a bummer that a lot of the add-ons are paid for, but its to be expected. Nothing crazy innovative flavor-wise, just a decent burger at a premium price due to the location. If you're strapped for time and haven't made a reservation, the Marq will offer a solid place to get some good American food at expected prices. I came here with my daughter before seeing Hamilton. It was the start of a perfect night! We made a res with OpenTable so it was easy peasy once we got there. No wait. I had a cocktail and my daughter asked for a mocktail and have the bartender surprise her. Both drinks were great. I actually think I liked hers more. I had a daiquiri. It was a little sweet for me. Hers was like a mojito. It was quite refreshing. We shared a three cheese plate. It was wonderful, especially the ricotta! We ordered a greek salad to share. We were both very satisfied with that amount and didn't order an entree to share... which were were anticipating we would do. I made a reservation for dinner for four here before a concert at the Chicago Theatre. We arrived at 5:30 and the place was pretty empty but they take reservations through Yelp so it was really convenient. Our server came by right away with water and explained the drink menu. The beer selections were pretty good with several local options, which was cool as we can't get all of them in Michigan. We ordered the Brussels sprouts and broccolini to start and they came out pretty quickly. They were both delicious! The broccolini was perfectly crisp tender with a strong garlicy flavor and some really tasty crunchy breadcrumbs. The Brussels sprouts were also perfectly cooked and had a sweet and slightly spicy glaze as well as a generous amount of bacon! I liked them both but the broccolini was my favorite. My boyfriend and I weren't super hungry so we ended up ordering one slider each ($5) and the samosas to split. Our friends also got the sliders and the croquettes. The sliders were wonderful! I joked that they looked like krabby patties. The brioche buns were light and airy and yet substantial enough to stand up to the juicy patty. The added cheese and pickled onions were perfect! I'm glad we went the slider route rather than splitting the burger ($15) like I had originally suggested. The samosas were good as well - they were flaky and crispy on the outside, rather than doughy and chewy. The chicken was lightly spiced with curry and not dry at all. The sauces that came with them were good but I liked the tzatziki best. I tried a few bites of the croquette and they were okay but not much flavor and very little meat. The Marq is a great restaurant/bar that's just a few short blocks from the Chicago Theater. Me and my family stopped here for a quick dinner before seeing a show, and were very satisfied with the food, drinks, and service. We made a reservation for 6:15, and were seated promptly when we arrived. It was happy hour on a Friday - so it was a little bit loud for the first 30 minutes or so - but a waitress visited us promptly and took some drink orders. They had a nice wine and beer list, but I opted to try out the Tequila Eclipse, which was kind of like a margarita with fresh thyme and jalepeños. We split an order of the fried pickles with sriracha aioli which were very good. I attempted to be healthy by ordering their steak salad which was very large and filling, but could have used a little extra zip of some kind. I also had a bite of the sticky ribs which gave me major FOMO - it was easily the best bite on the table, and a few bites of my partner's slider which was to die for. They're really doing something right with their aioli-cheese-pickle combo and it left me wishing I had thrown #health out the window for a burger. A great find in Chicago! A visited with my coworkers before the start of our conference weekend. We ate a late lunch so we just wanted appetizers and drinks. To start our serve was exceptional. He had great recommendations for anything we asked him - very friendly and attentive. We each ordered one appetizer. I had the bruschetta, Nick and meat and cheese platter and Sarah the Brussels sprouts. The bruschetta is a great choice if you are with a group although it was so good I could have eaten the entire thing myself. It comes with large slices of toasted baguette, fresh tomatoes and ricotta. I couldn't try the Brussels sprouts as they contained nuts, but both Nick and Sara said they were worth the purchase. Nick's meat and cheese selection were the hit of the night. His board had the summer sausage, and two cheeses. We devoured it. Again large portion size if you are with a group. It's the attention to detail on the way the service is given, the pickles are coated just so, and the whipped honey ricotta is perfectly balanced. We were in town & going to see Hamilton and this place was close & has great reviews so we gave it a shot. We called ahead & were able to get a reservation which was appreciated. -we were sat immediately by a friendly hostess -our server was somewhat attentive but not very friendly. I don't mind that but It very much bothered my friend -the ricotta appetizer was one of the best things I have ever put in my mouth. This alone is a must. -the Brussels sprouts were ok. They were very big and the knives weren't very sharp which made eating them a bit of a pain, and I would have liked them more without the sweet/spicy sauce -the chicken sandwich was excellent.
