My First visit:
I ordered the warm Maine Lobster Roll. .
.Served with fresh Maine lobster salad, bibb lettuce, butter-toasted bun, with fresh Maine lobster, lemon butter, butter-toasted bun.
The price digits were very small, so I thought the meal was $18.00, it turns out it was $48.00, needless to say I was shocked. But let's park the price to the side, the meal was very simple, not a large portion of lobster for the price. It was supposed to be warm, it was cold, no butter on the side and very little on the bread or lobster, which was toasted but also cold and dry.
I truly don't mind paying for a quality meal, but this meal by a long shot did not deliver against the price point. . . .I asked when I received the meal if it was warm, because it was actually cold, and when I received the check had to double check the menu, where I realized I did in fact order a $48.00 Maine Lobster Roll.
I told the bartender that the meal was disapointing and certainly not worth the ask, he said he'd mention it to the owner and staff. I paid the check and left quietly.
I will not judge the Marin for this one experience, but I expected more attention to detail and when a customer politely complains upon receiving the meal that it's off, that they take immediate action and demonstrate that they care about a customers experience. And especially when a customer states that the meal was not worth the price point and very dissapointing, maybe someone should come out of the kitchen and discuss the experience with the customer.
BTW: I am not the type of person that writes reviews, but this one was well deserved.
The positives: Great transformation with the space, peaceful, cozy and stylish (Maybe why I had to pay so much for something so simple and bland? to help with the renovations?) Staff were very polite and professional, they just need better training and guidance on how to effectively handle these types of customer relation situations.
