After the flood of 2008 I wondered what could ever go into such a small building. Well The Map Room fits it nice. Found this place when my wife said she wanted a burger and needed it right away. The atmosphere was nice, they also have an outside patio, waitress was very pleasant. Wife had a plain patty with Swiss on it and a salad. She said it was very good. I had a side of fries that were done just right. Price wasn't bad, cost less than the Jimmy Johns across the street. This will be a do over. Oh, asked if they had any NA beer but they didn't. Happened upon this place looking for somewhere new, very cute place and great staff. Food was amazing and so was the drink!

Suggested by an employee at the Iowa Brewing Company to come here if I was hungry. The decor inside was pretty cool and the outside was as well. The pesto mozzarella burger was phenomenal! The bun was perfectly toasted. I did try the cheese and bacon on my fries and thought it was little sub-par. The draft beer selection wasn't great either. They should definitely include Iowa Brewing Company. Service at the bar was okay, nothing to note but attentive enough. Would definitely come back here, purely because of the burgers. read more

The Map Room looks like a small, hole-in-the-wall bar in downtown Cedar Rapids. I just happened to check it out during a recent visit to town... And boy, was I impressed! The bar has a genuine authenticity and feel to it that I haven't seen in most other places in Cedar Rapids. As one would expect, there are a variety of beers on tap... but OMG... The burgers! I had one of the best burgers I've ever tasted in my life at the Map Room!! There were also a number of hummus and naans, as well as salads, on the menu, which I didn't try. I will definitely be back for more burgers and beer!! read more

Cute little establishment located where Stella's used to be, decorated with interesting maps obtained from the travels of the owners. There are several different alcoholic options to choose from, I visited here with a group and we enjoyed the customer service and the food. I had the Saigon burger which was cooked to perfection and had an excellent level of heat. We had on crostini tangier which was the perfect appetizer, to compliment our drinks and meal. The Map Room is a cozy, little place, but it is clean and the food is good. I will be back and recommend that everyone should give it a try. read more

Cute, small, unique restaurant. The cusco fries were amazing and full of flavor! My boyfriend who is a meat and potatoes kind of man even enjoyed them. The El Paso burger was ok, could've used a little more flavor. The potato ham soup was very good as well as their Asian pasta salad! I was surprised at all the unique options they had. My boyfriend had the Memphis burger and he said it was very good! They have $4 Bloody Mary's all day on Saturday. read more

This place is one of my favorite burger joints in Cedar Rapids. It's downtown so parking is kinda miserable, but since I have usually gone at time when the church isn't in session I have generally parked in there lot without issue. The restaurant is pretty small, maybe 10 tables total, but that's part of the charm. The decor is nice and unique with various historical pictures and map related items. The menu is not extensive, but what they do they execute well. Best part is the price won't break the bank. My wife and I spend about $30 for a drink and meals. If you are looking for a nice quiet place with good food reasonable prices I'd definitely recommend giving the map room a shot. read more

The Blackstone Hotel sandwich was perfect. The potato salad was unique and very tasty - we appreciated the recommendation from our server.

Atmosphere and look is nice. Seems to fit more people than previous establishments there. As far as the menu goes it is very unique. However, there are so many ingredients that are unknown to the average person so you end up having to google what something is or ask numerous questions. More descriptions on the menu would be helpful. Hopefully there will be more menu options as time goes on. I like burgers and fries, but if someone in your party is looking for something else you're out of luck. read more

This place was questionable at first, but moment I sat at the bar I was greeted and welcomed to the bar! Bartender was extremely nice and once the food came it was spectacular! One of my favorite burgers in town, probably not a spot for vegetarians or healthy eaters but that doesn't phase me at all. The restaurant is small so it's probably not great for groups. We almost did not go in because it looked too small for our group of 11. Turned out that they accommodated us very well. The hamburgers had pulled pork and different spices. A good choice of beers although not all are on draft. we had two kids under 6 and they were happy with their selections. Interesting decorations using maps. Love the look of this place. The staff is super friendly and helpful with the menu. The burgers are really creative without being too crazy that it feels they're just throwing things together for the sake of originality. The flavors pair well together and they make sense. Best veggie burger in town and I love all the al-carte toppings you can put on your burger, so you don't have to lack in flavor department just because you don't eat cheese or meat. Also, the decor has a very warm, inviting feel with loads of interesting, world-wide vintage maps decorating the place. Bartenders and servers are very friendly and accommodating, my only real complaint is that the place is super small and always packed so I can't depend on getting a seat if I go there on a weekend night. Hopefully they will eventually move to a larger location and I wish them all the success in the world! I love their grilled cheese though they use American in their blend of cheeses that include White Cheddar, Provolone and a Goat cheese aiole that I think does it's best to hide the processed taste of American. I HIGHLY recommend having the French fries Poutine style, as long as you learn what gravy they use for that specific day. I went on a Friday and had the Mushroom gravy with my Poutine fries. Great hole in the wall bar/pub in downtown Cedar Rapids. It is on the small side but has seating inside and outside. The beer on tap is really good with local beers and the regular standards. The menu is smaller but what they have is really good! We split a Springfield Burger and Santa Fe Fries. Burger was simple but high quality. The Santa Fe Fries were excellent!! Wow!
