We go to Iowa Brewing several times a month, and we have always had great experiences with their friendly staff. I have also been really impressed with the way they have handled business during the Covid-19 pandemic. We really liked this place. We brought our dogs and sat on the patio. My husband had an IPA and I had a Mango smoothie sour which was delicious. The staff was very friendly and helpful. It was very clean and comfortable. We got there not long after opening and it wasn't very busy. read more

I enjoy going to Iowa Brewing Company, as I go there at least twice a month, either alone or with friends. The brewers and bartenders are all very kind and knowledgeable about all of their craft beers on tap. I enjoyed their dimly-lit venue which hosts all different sorts of seating options, ranging from couches to high-top tables to a nice patio. They also have a wide variety of games that you can play when you are there. Whether you are in the mood for a bags tournament or whether you want to play a game of chess or another board game, you can drink a great craft beer while you play your game. Also they host a lot of different fun events from time to time. A great place to try good craft beer! read more

Our family frequented this brewery after a Cedar Rapids Kernels game on the way back to hotel. The outside patio was full of hipsters, bicycles and dogs. The staff here were much nicer than Lion Bridge Brewery. Since husband and kid had root beers and were along, I opted for a flight and stayed less than 15 minutes. I tried New England Lager, a pale lager that I rated 2.75 on untapped, Iowa Eagle another lager, I rated 3.5 and Bohemian Rapils I rated a 5. The brewery seemed more hip than Lion Bridge. Will probably return if I visit Cedar Rapids again. read more

Iowa Brewing Company is just plain wonderful! I've been here twice now - once, during the evening, and once during the day, when I was able to spend some quality time with my partner in crime on their amazing patio during some perfect, ever-fleeting 75 degree weather. The atmosphere is great in both scenarios - they have a ton of board games to pick from, and my evening group and I spent a solid hour and a half playing the longest game of Uno in history while enjoying some of IBC's awesome beers. The outdoor patio is also fantastic - they have an array of picnic tables, and a ton of outdoor games to keep yourself occupied (giant Jenga, Bags/Cornhole). My personal favorite beer of theirs is is the "Low Hanging Fruit," but I'm looking forward to trying a few flights on a return trip. They also occasionally have a food truck parked outside in case you need any eats. Oh, and every time I've visited, the staff has been totally friendly and gone out of their way to help me make decisions on what to order based on what kind of beers I like. They're great! read more

I was kind of hesitant about going here at first as I have heard mixed reviews, nevertheless I thoroughly enjoyed it! It is a laid back atmosphere and perfect for a night of hanging out with friends. We found ourselves drinking beer and playing multiple games they have available (scrabble, UNO, cards against humanity, etc). Our "quick stop for a drink" turned into 3 hours of fun! I deducted one star as they only had one beer on tap that I really liked, however I was excited to see kombucha available as well. I have now been to Iowa Brewing Company a few times and it has taken a spot as one of my favorite breweries in the area. The 16 beers on tap include multiple varieties of different styles and the price for beer is really good! I rode my bike here on a Sunday and was pleasantly surprised to find I could buy a $10 pitcher of any of their low gravity offerings. I'm an IPA guy typically and have really enjoyed their Low Hanging Fruit, Surf Zombies, and Haze fo Daze brews. The Red Thing and Tragedy of the Common were also really tasty. This is a great place to drink away the day while playing board games inside or venturing out to the patio for some bags or big Jenga. read more

Iowa Brewing is a great brewery in Cedar Rapids. Came to this place on a Saturday afternoon. They have a lot of good options for beers to fit almost anyone needs. It was busy but didn't feel too crowded, plenty of seating. I did a flight here and got to try some things I had yet to have from here. They do bottle their beers and have seen many in the Iowa area. The place has a great feel, cool decor and a great patio to enjoy if the day would have been warmer. They also had some popcorn here as well. Overall one of the better breweries in Iowa. read more

Yet another testament to the greatness of Iowa brewing culture. IBC is a modern, clean space offering a large number of fresh craft beers -- I think they had 20 when I visited -- that are economical. The pricing really is great here. Not that it's cheap, but I like the $2 or $3 tasters. I don't always want a whole pint or 10+ oz. serving of high gravity beer, so being able to poke around the beer menu without breaking the bank or getting hammered is really nice. I tried three different varieties and my wife had two and our bill's grand total? $14. Not bad. Not bad at all. The same goes for the beers. Not bad. Not bad at all. I like Iowa Brewing Company. Absolutely loved this place and can't rave enough! I've been to many breweries around the country and this one far exceeds my expectations. This was my first visit to Iowa and based on Yelp reviews I chose to come here. The draft selection is incredible but better yet, they were all delicious. I tried about 10 out of the 19, I'm saving the rest for my next visit. Ambiance - Cool little brewery near the NewBo area of CR. Plenty of space inside and a long bar to belly up to if you are like me and like sitting at the rail. Some TVs in the taproom for sports viewing. Had a large shelf of games which my wife and I grabbed Connect Four and re-lived our childhood while sipping good beers. We were in on a Friday night and they had a live band. Beer - A good selection of most styles of beer. Iowa Brewing distributes so more than half the beers on tap I had already tried before because I had bought them in stores. They did have a handful of brewery exclusive beers, unfortunately a couple of those I wanted to try and they had already blew the keg. But I suppose that's a sign of a good brewery if they are running out of stuff. Area - Not sure if there is a private parking lot. We parked on the street which there seemed to be ample amount of spaces available. It's in a nice area and there are plenty more breweries, restaurants, and bars within walking distance in a couple of directions. read more

What an awesome selection of craft brews. Over 16 beers on tap and each have there own distinct style and flavor. These guys can brew! Not to mention it's a great value at $3 a tulip and $5 for a mug. There is going to be a lot of competition in the area soon but I feel these guys can hold there own. The staff is knowledgeable and passionate about brewing and that was apparent. Be sure to bring change or be prepared to download the park pay app because this part of Cedar Rapids still has coin meters. They have plenty of space for large get togethers and groups of friends. Plenty of room to roam. The outdoor patio is a huge plus during the warmer months as well. They do not serve food but have meat sticks available in there drink cooler and food trucks pop up from time to time. Overall I had a great experience here and I'm sure you will to. Two things caught my eye even before I stepped in the door. First, it was their awesome patio space! As an avid lover of summer, I am anxious to return and try it out! Second, they had a sweet food truck set up outside. Since they do not have a kitchen, they rotate food trucks out front. Love the idea, but did not try it as I had just finished dinner. However, if the smells rolling out of the truck were any indication of the taste of the food, I will be digging in next time! The space is pretty cool and inviting. A bar, long tables, couches and chairs are abundant. They had twelve different beers to choose from and I settled for their Ella Pale Ale, which I enjoyed. The staff was helpful, even though we caught them right before closing. I really love the fact this is on the way to the bike path! Great location! Excited to see this business blossom! read more

Really fun experience here and highly recommend. Came here on December 23 for the "Festivus" celebration and it was super fun. There were a few complimentary snacks out, and some nice camaraderie. I must say that it's a step above 90% of the CR bars...the clientele is not people you would find at a truck stop, nor is it a bunch of unruly high school seniors with fake ids. The beer selection was nice, with great descriptions. And the prices were insanely cheap - living in Chicago I'm used to paying $8 or $9 for a craft beer, so it's refreshing to get a nice size one for $5 or $6 here. Best brewery in town! It's a must as far as breweries go. It has a huge variety on tap. The bartenders/ brewers know what they are talking about. They literally have my favorite beer on tap. I had wanted to try out this place for a while! It was a blast- it was soo comfy, tons of fun family / friend games to play to pass the time, for sure a place you can bring the entire family! We loved trying out the different beers & my favorite was the Tripoli, last time we had friends here from Texas we took them & their teenage girls & they loved it & go to breweries all of the time in Texas & just loved the vibe, music, all different types of seating & huge areas so you don't feel like people are right on top of you!! Stopped in for a couple brews just before Christmas and was thoroughly impressed at what Iowa Brewing Company has been able to do in their industrial location. I tried an IPA and an Amber ale and enjoyed each of them. The card games on the tables were a nice touch and the ambiance is what you expect at a brewery. This is a newer tasting room with excellent beer. My favorite beer that I tried was the pre-prohibition lager called Iowa Eagle, which definitely is a good beer to chill a summer thirst at a great price. The staff is wonderful and quite attentive and knowledgeable about beer. The seating area is in a great view of the brewery section so you can easily take in a tour just by your wandering eyes. My only complaint is that tasting room opens later in the afternoon (around 4pm the day I visited), it would have been nice to hit it up earlier. Otherwise, great experience and I will be returning for sure! read more
