From the moment you walk up, this place is absolutely charming with its clean, white exterior adorned with beautiful flowers. Inside, the vibe is lively, warm, and super welcoming, making it a great spot to relax and enjoy a meal. The food was nothing short of amazing--every dish hit the mark! What really set this restaurant apart, though, was the incredible staff and owner. I realized after leaving that I had forgotten my credit card, which was a huge stress since I'm from out-of-state. The staff went out of his way to be helpful, and the owner personally texted me to arrange mailing my card back to me. They are genuinely friendly, sweet, and care so deeply about their guests. I can't recommend this place enough for the amazing food, beautiful atmosphere, and exceptional service. I will definitely be back next time I'm in town! read more

I have been to this place a few times. Mostly for adult beverages but occasionally for food. Friendly service and even most of the customers are friendly to talk to. This place has some large windows to let you see the fire station across the street, an interesting view. It is well lit and clean. I did not have breakfast but some friends said it was very good. We showed up one evening for the pot roast special and the pork chops. My pot roast was tasty, the mash potatoes were good, if they were from a can or powdered I could not tell. The broccoli was fresh but nothing special. The pork chops were moist and cooked to perfection. The accompanying asparagus had a few hard pieces and was on the cold side but edible. We enjoyed the food and will most likely be back as the meal atmosphere were on the whole pleasant. read more

It was ok a nice place decorated in log cabin. Style, lots of seating with a view of the semi open kitchen,and a patio extension. The server was friendly and attentive but not overly cheery. The food wad ok. I had a mushroom swiss burger. It came with lettuce,onion, tomato and pickles. Why? Does ananyone put that on a mushroom seiss burger. Anyway I felt the burger needed some seasoning but the waffle fries were good. Like I said it was ok. Very middle of road but good. read more

Came here for Mother's Day brunch and was misinformed by the staff about seating. They told us the wait would be 25-30 minutes to which they kept allowing others to get seated in front of us. Popped into Midtown Station late morning and got a Crab and Downsouth Benny⁣. My friend got the Midtown burrito and Midtown hashbrowns⁣. Both my Bennies were delicious and I LOVE that I got to pick two. Fairly small place but we were lucky to get seats right away! Good service, clean, and cute! You really can't go wrong with Midtown Station. I've come here a few times for breakfast and never been disappointed. The service is great, food is excellent, and there are several seating options - inside, on an enclosed patio, and outside. Parking can be difficult depending on what time of day it is and what is going on downtown, however I've always been able to park close. I came on Sunday for the Bloody Mary bar - only $8 for Tito's. They have a ton of meats, cheeses, and veggies to add. I got the shipwreck with broccoli, sausage, and cheddar jack cheese. It comes on hash browns and two eggs your way. I highly recommend this. It was a good sized portion, but not so much that you can't finish it. Their pancakes are amazing. They are plate sized and thick. The taste is great. Be advised the menu prices have changed from what's on the website. Everything is $2 or so more. Whether it's breakfast, lunch, dinner, or grabbing a drink this place checks all the boxes. read more

Stopped in on a Saturday night to have dinner. My fiancée and I split the pork tenderloin and fries and her parents split a Philly cheesesteak & fries. All of us enjoyed our meal and I found the tenderloin tasted somehow almost buttery. It was delicious. Our server Tiffany was super sweet and service was perfect. We will for sure be back again! They had my HEART at "serving breakfast all day"!!! And THEN, it was top notch too! And cocktails! The PERFECT trifecta there... First off, that cocktail (5 Alarm Lemonade) has some KICK to it. I went with the breakfast burrito and it was one of the BEST I've had in a long time! Side of fresh fruit has a nice variety of strawberries, pineapple, blueberries, etc. My sister ordered a hamburger without a bun and a few condiments (celiac - gluten intolerance) and they adjusted the price of the burger since she didn't get all items. We where there last night with 7 people and had the worst service . Our waitress never once checked on us or asked us if we wanted to order another drink . We would have order 2-3 more drinks each if she would have waited on us . We had to ask her that we would like to place our food order . She said in a snotty tone that she had other people in the back room . When she came back out she took a food order from another table that came in least half hour after us . Our food was in most good . But I order the weekly special that you advertise on Facebook. When I got it, it had no jalapeño ,onions tanglers & coleslaw on it.. I told her it was missing . She told me you're missing two things. She sat down a little Dixie cup with the onion Tanglers that were overcooked and burnt taste no coleslaw, This took about 15 minutes to get !! Another waitress check us out and ask how everything was . She was very nice . I said I never receive the cold slaw and I wanted I togo box by then . She walk over and handed me my coleslaw that was sitting up there . I've been to your establishment several times for breakfast and always had great service and the food was great so this was a big disappointment last. Probably won't be back.. read more

I went to Midtown Station for the first time and had a pretty decent experience. I was surprised when I walked in, to see that they had beers on tap as well and not even that, they were some decent craft beers that they had on tap and not just domestics. It was not very busy when I arrived. I liked all of their Saint Patrick's Day decor that they had all up around their restaurant. I also liked their variety of seating options. I ordered Coffee, Orange Juice, and water for my drinks, which all tasted good. I ordered their Midtown Breakfast Burrito with some substitutions along with toast on the side. The food was a little on the greasy side, and tasted average because of the greasiness. My waitress was super, super kind and friendly, which made my day. read more

I was driving through town and stopped for lunch at 2pm on a Monday - not knowing what to expect. I'm glad I did though! Some of the most genuinely friendly service I've ever gotten, the food menu was solid and I got some surprisingly awesome waffle fries, and the draft list was great. I'm not sure what I was expecting but what I found was far beyond what I thought I'd get, otherwise I wouldn't have been so blown away. This little diner/bar with it's cute lighting and classic 70s rock wafting through the air intertwining with the chatter of other guests and mingling with the aromas floating out of the kitchen, produced one of the best meals I've had in Iowa in a decade. Our waitress with her adorable cherub tattoos on either arm and compliments to my hair, her helpful suggestions, and frequent offers to top off our coffee only added to the atmosphere and delightful experience. And then the food came. This food is not food that arrives on a truck pre-prepared and frozen only to deep fried and served. No, these are ingredients that are cooked, chopped, sauteed, mixed together, seasoned, and served. I'm talking homemade, made-from-scratch, infused with talent and love. The depth of flavors, the quality of ingredients, and the reasonable prices are something that will keep me coming back here for years. We ordered crab cakes, french toast with pineapples and rumchata, and a breaskfast burrito. Our food was so amazing that if it wasn't so early in the morning we would have bought the entire staff a round of beers or orange juice, their choice. I used to come when it was the Irish Pub. I loved the lunch. Now, Midtown Station has me applauding the Cooks, the Staff and the design team/owners. The new decor, the different clientele and new servers/staff but, I am still given the great lunch, smiling faces and relaxed atmosphere. I sat without a clear idea of what I wanted to eat but, I was helped with "how about starting with our Chicken Noodle Soup?". I said, sure, why not. I'm going to interrupt this review to tell you how good the Soup was.... it was big chunks of chicken. There was a smokiness to it so, I'm thinking a grilled and sectioned grilled chicken. Big Chunks!! Then, the home made noodles. Big, thick, cooked perfectly and, if you're like me, you get ur Soup and your salt and pepper ready to season it... well, Forget it!! Everything you ever want to perfectly season ur Chicken Noodle Soup is in there already. Back to the review: I ordered Cobb Salad and was so stuffed with my full meal! BREAKFAST ALL DAY!!!! I have ate here Many many times. I can tell you the Salmon Blt is in my opinion the best thing on the Menu. The butter toasted Texas toast , salmon is cooked right its not dry , the bacon brings a little flavor but not enough to fight the salmon, the salmon is seasoned with Chinese spices which complement it well. For drinks i ask for the margarita with the spicy sweet and sour made in house for a spicy Marg soooo good. For dessert i suggest ordering a slice of the Rumchata French toast. The restaurant is small but they just made a winter patio with heaters and have a igloo for the winter. The heaters were working well . When downtown and ready for an enjoyable breakfast, I recommend you stop by the Midtown Station. I had a simple breakfast, my own choice, with a side of fruit and everything was enjoyable. I wish I was a little hungrier so I could have tried some of the other options. Next time I'm in town, I'll be stopping by for a nice breakfast. Had breakfast. Noticed the HVAC vents were dripping into our coffee. The food came out and the biscuits and gravy was great, but came out cold. The shipwreck is not a traditional shipwreck when everything is mixed together. The Omelet was ok. Hash browns were amazing and coffee was ok. read more

What a great new bar/restaurant that opened downtown CR. They have breakfast all day. Lunch and dinner. Drinks are wonderful. They have a special drink called the Five Alarm Lemonade that is a spicy whiskey drink! the staff is very friendly and appreciated our business. Try this new diner. We gave the new place a try for a group lunch today. The parking lot is tight, but we got a space. We sat outside - think picnic tables and gravel. The cool lighting had fallen down but we were able to duck under it until they get it fixed. Our server, Susan, was fabulous and super nice. We only had lunch - no alcohol for the four of us today, but it would be fun to go back for that. We shared the bbq beef wontons. Delish! I had the Firehouse Chicken Sandwich and side salad. It was juicy and really good flavor. The side salad was good sized. Inside is small so if you have a larger group and want to sit inside, I'd recommend calling ahead.
