Had to run down to CR and sign some business papers after my post-op doctor's appointment so we met up with our friend Dwayne with his beautiful 40 Ford at Daisy's Garage Started off with The Smash appetizer, tater tots covered in cheese sauce, bacon, green onions and sour cream...very good! The Backwoods Tenderloin and the A1 Burger were equally delicious. The tenderloin was breaded and smothered with provolone cheese, grilled onions and mushrooms....mmmm. Prime beef, provolone, bacon and A1 sauce rounded out the A1 Burger.

As soon as we walked in, we were greeted with a friendly smile and hello. We were seated to our table, and it was clean and dry. The waitress took our order and our food was out fast. The food was excellent. And for the two of us with drinks it was cheaper than going to a fast food place. We really like this place, it's our new goto place in Marion.

Turkey Club is HUGE and so good.

Welp, it looks like the Buffalo Chicken Wrap is no longer on the menu. Disappointed. Wish it was still listed. Good deep fried tots.

The food was pretty good, the waitress was kind, but also very busy. When we told the waitress about my birthday I received a free dessert, so that was nice. The big bummer was when we paid the credit card was ran and I handed the waitress a cash tip. After she got her tip we noticed that gratuity was added already and the waitress hadn't mentioned the gratuity. I was surprised that she didn't say anything and that there was no clear notice that a party of 6 would automatically have gratuity added to the bill. We did talk with the waitress and she returned the cash tip, but just want others to be aware of their gratuity policy.

The vibe of Hip-Stir ha always been cool and kinda niche and this was no exception. If you don't know that they changed up their menu.. they did. It's not bad by any means, but I am pretty heartbroken about them removing the Spinach Artichoke dip. It was the best around and I'll be overjoyed when it returns. The new menu still features ramen, sandwiches and other yummy dishes. I ordered a side of Mac and cheese with my entree and the food was out in about 20 minutes which is great! Unfortunately my Mac and cheese was forgotten- our server apologized and went to "get that started", no worries. The next time our server was at our table I inquired about it again since it had been about 10 minutes, but she had forgotten yet again. She rushed back to "get it started", ok. At this point everyone was getting full and I didn't even want it anymore, but she returned a few minutes later with it. A little frustrating. The ramen has changed, unfortunately. My sister ordered the spicy pork (which has historically been amazing) and didn't even finish it, which is pretty weird for her lol. I tasted nothing but soy sauce and spice. I'm not sure where the aromatics went, but they need to bring them back asap. Don't order the carrot cake. It was served over coffee (yes, hot coffee) which ruined it. The cake was overly soggy and tasted of nothing but the coffee flavor. I'm sure it would have been great without it, the frosting looked great. I'll probably be back and love supporting the Fun not Fancy group in CR, but last night was a miss.

Also a surprise, was the amount of LED Christmas lights strung from every single corner it could be nailed to, providing the strangest throbbing glow on all of the patrons, and the extremely underseasoned food. Our waitress was friendly, and nervous, repeating herself multiple times every time she swung by the table. The food came out extremely fast and was generally well received, but in that way, generic bar food is always a crowd-pleaser. My dad loved his burger and fries, and the table loved the cheese curds (cubes), but my Panzanella salad with shrimp was tragically underseasoned, with giant cold, limp cornbread croutons that would have been a million times better toasted, and my chili and my wife's mac & cheese were about as bland as it gets. We'd happily come back if someone asked us to meet them, and I'm sure we'd generally enjoy ourselves if we did, but I can't say it's very unlikely I'd be a regular if I lived in the area.

Drinks were great and our food came out quickly. I got the Montreal Beef Sandwich. Tasty brisket with a great combination of flavors. Fries were good. My wife got the Salmon BLT, which was also very good, with great bacon and a nice slab of fish. She got the upcharged Brussels Sprouts for her side and they were also tasty. My brother got the Arnold Palmer Chicken Sandwich, a tea-soaked sandwich that he enjoyed. He got the house chips, and they were also good. The salmon was good on my egg Benedict, but the hollandaise sauce was clumpy and it was overall underwhelming. The bite I had of my friend's lox bagel tasted pretty good. I ordered the Chocolate Chip Banana Brioche Bread Pudding for dessert and my friend order the beignets. I thought the chocolate chip and chocolate sauce overpowered the bread pudding. I would have preferred less chocolate sauce and more cream sauce to balance out the chocolate chips. However, if you are a chocolate lover and you can enjoy it with a large glass of milk it may be right up your alley. The beignet were disappointing compared to those in New Orleans. The beignet's exterior was harder than normal and they weren't as fluffy. The service was overall good, however I wish the waitress would have asked if I would like a refill, versus me flagging her down 10 minutes after my glass was empty especially since the soda/tea glasses are about half the size of other restaurants.

They certainly spend a lot of money and I hope it's busy every single day. I know if their was an establishment like this in California it would be super pricy to play and eat. The service was awesome and the gal took great care of us and came back to check on us often. The food was okay. They made really good margaritas and the spicy bloody was the best I have had. My cobb salad would have been amazing if they had better or homemade dressing. It was very thick and had no flavor. We had to taste the fried cheese and it was really good, but very salty. I would have to eat one and then wait 15 minutes to eat another one. It was delicious though. My husband had the meat sundae I think and he liked the dish and the horseradish sauce was good and not too over powering.
