We happened upon Daisy's Garage while passing through Cedar Rapids and decided to stop in for lunch. The restaurant is pretty spacious, with plenty of seating and a fun, open layout. There are lots of cool automotive touches, vintage signs, and garage-style charm that give it a laid-back, quirky personality. It is the kind of place where you notice something new every time you look around. We were seated quickly and greeted by our server. We ordered waters and a couple of pops. It is a Pepsi establishment, so I went with a Diet Mountain Dew. I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich with extra crispy tots and a side of honey mustard. The sandwich was just the right size for lunch, and the tots were hot, crispy, and plentiful. The honey mustard was way better than expected--sweet, tangy, and perfect for dipping. My friend was excited to see an Impossible Burger on the menu. As a vegetarian, it is rare for her to have a solid lunch option. Daisy's even had vegan fare available, which was a nice surprise. I did not remember to photograph my lunch, but I have absolutely no regrets about eating it. If you are in the Cedar Rapids area, give Daisy's a try. American We had just rolled in to Marion to be closer to a destination in Cedar Rapids and were looking for a quick place to grab a bite and something to wash it down. A quick Yelp search came up with Daisy's right down the street, so we headed over. Daisy's is a cool little sports bar sitting in Marion in what appears to be a brand-new plaza. When you enter the place, it does indeed, look like a garage. Large bar to the right, tables (inside and out) to the left and straight back. Grabbed a high top and the waitress was super friendly and was over to say hi as soon as we sat. Menu is decent sized and offers primarily sports-bar centric type offerings: sandwiches, burgers, wings, some salads and apps - a fat kids dream. Beers were icy cold and fresh and went well with our nachos and burgers. Food portions were good sized and everything was fresh and well made. Overall a fine experience and I would definitely hit it again if in the area. Food is mediocre at best. They allow groups of young kids to run all over like a playground. Pur last time there EVER a group of loud young kids (3) were let loose outside by the parents and restaurant to just wreak havoc outside disturbing anyone trying to relax. Those kids went missing for 10 min, and the parents and bystanders were looking all over for them! Then, once they were found, the parents just let them stay outside again to play as if at a public park. The waitress was extremely rude and didn't even attempt to get the kids to be controlled by the parents, who were getting drunk inside. We came to relax and have a few drinks outside. In the peace and quiet! We sat in the corner, faved away from the building to be alone. Yet the staff still allowed the kids to play right near us, and I do mean 2 feet away!!! Kids tried to walk between our table and the wall we were against. (To close even if they were OUR kids!) All of them in baseball outfits. We told the kids to go away, and we decided to quit even trying to order anything else since it was a playground where kids can go missing, be loud, and still dont get controlled! We returned after a month and were told."we were not allowed to drink there anynore bcs we cussed at kids!?". What alie! The waitress was mad bcs we only left her $1 tip. Which was too much tbh. Accused us of cussing at kids! Wow. No concern for kids going crazy disturbing guests while THEIR parents drank inside. It is NO loss to never return. They acted like the 1 drink we hadmade us drunk lmfao!!! 1 drink. These people are childish, unprofessional, and just mad that we didnt tip well for the crap experience. Had to run down to CR and sign some business papers after my post-op doctor's appointment so we met up with our friend Dwayne with his beautiful 40 Ford at Daisy's Garage Started off with The Smash appetizer, tater tots covered in cheese sauce, bacon, green onions and sour cream...very good! The Backwoods Tenderloin and the A1 Burger were equally delicious. The tenderloin was breaded and smothered with provolone cheese, grilled onions and mushrooms....mmmm. We both had the fish n chips, obviously not hand breaded fresh daily, the fries tasted like they were fried in old oil, last night then nuked before they were served. Service was OK if you didn't mind having to track down your server. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted with a friendly smile and hello. We were seated to our table, and it was clean and dry. The waitress took our order and our food was out fast. The food was excellent. And for the two of us with drinks it was cheaper than going to a fast food place. We really like this place, it's our new goto place in Marion. read more

We love this place and have visited probably close to a dozen times since they have opened. We have always had good service and the food has always been fantastic! Our favorite is the Philly Cheese Steak Nacho's that comes piled high with toppings! My husband and I share it and can never finish it all. I have been a fan of the Daisy's Garage forever, we became aquainted at the original 1st ave location and its been a long running love affair. These folks raise pub grub to an art form, and toss in their fish boils, well there is something for everybody! Large portions make me smile, and I beam in this place. I'd be remiss to not mention their loaded tater tots, a cakepan full of tots, smothered in melted cheese, green onions and bacon. I get em' every visit! Had the shrimp po boy with tots. Tots were cold, shrimp were some nondescript breaded nuggets that did not resemble shrimp in form or taste. They were hard and had no taste except for the overpowering Cajun sauce. The best part was the little cup of coleslaw. The only reason for 2 stars is the sliders my wife had. read more

Went to Daisy's Garage on Sunday for lunch. While they were fairly busy upon our arrival, the restaurant cleared out, for the most part, soon after. Although the food was good, it took over an hour for us to receive our food...after waiting over half hour to even order. Our person who was waiting our table never returned to refill water, or check to see if we needed anything. There were two parties that actually left due to "lack of service." Went for a late lunch on a Saturday. Good crowd, lots of TVs and we were seated right away on the patio. Must say, Marion needed a place like this for the past 15+ years. Glad they are here. Similar to their Edgewood location in most ways. Love that the patio is on the East side - will be great for afternoons when the sun is baking. Had fish n chips, wife had fish tacos. Mine was decent, the chips were actual chips and not fries. Wife's fish tacos were ok, but very small (2 small tacos $14). Like everywhere else, prices are up there for what you get. Will stick to burgers and sandwiches from now on. Lots of bikes, cool bar, great place to bring a group or catch a game. Service was decent. We had a terrible experience at Daisy's Garage. We called ahead for a table of 12 (6 adults + 6 kids) and arrived to a fairly empty restaurant. It took our waitress at least 30 minutes to even take our order, and over an hour to get our food. We interacted with half a dozen staff, none which had any urgency to bring us our food, nor apologies for the length of time it took. Instead, they showed annoyance at our requests and quite a laissez faire attitude throughout. Many items from our orders were not ever delivered, and it took 15 minutes for drink refills. At the end, our bills were piled together on the table and they tagged on 20% gratuity. While I can understand a backed up kitchen at peak breakfast hours, this was a fairly empty restaurant mid morning with staff who seemed to not care about their customers. We won't be returning and are disappointed, as we saw this as being a great potential to our growing city. food was decent but beware they decide their own tip here. there were 5 of us and when we got the bill she had added a rather decent tip. more than the work that she did. she took the order brought us our drinks and napkins and someone else brought our food. i could understand if we were a large group, but not the case. read more
