Unbeknownst to us, we ended up coming out on a 90's music bingo night, which conceptually sounds terrible but ended up being mildly entertaining, as everyone in the restaurant sang along with some of the worst songs ever known to be recorded. Also a surprise, was the amount of LED Christmas lights strung from every single corner it could be nailed to, providing the strangest throbbing glow on all of the patrons, and the extremely underseasoned food. Our waitress was friendly, and nervous, repeating herself multiple times every time she swung by the table. The food came out extremely fast and was generally well received, but in that way, generic bar food is always a crowd-pleaser. My dad loved his burger and fries, and the table loved the cheese curds (cubes), but my Panzanella salad with shrimp was tragically underseasoned, with giant cold, limp cornbread croutons that would have been a million times better toasted, and my chili and my wife's mac & cheese were about as bland as it gets. Goldfinch is a good option when you want somewhere cute and casual. There's limited street parking in Uptown but multiple lots, including their own off of 7th Ave. They also have a patio for when the weather is nice. I've seen a few local musicians here, typically set up in the front window by the bar. The food/drinks are decent. Service is the weak point, in my opinion. It's been below average every time so not somewhere I go often. read more

We stopped here twice while in town for a wedding. Friday night it was busy and all the tables were full. Service was friendly. Food came out fast. We arrived right at 6pm- end of happy hour- wish the waitress would have mentioned it because we would have ordered drinks. The tenderloin was a bit over cooked but had good flavor, Mac n cheese was pretty cheesy and the artichoke spin dip grilled cheese was too much for me but my brother devoured it! Sunday morning was brunch for 10- service, again was spot on and with a smile. Stopped here today in between games for my youngest daughter's softball tournament. Our team manager called ahead and had a room for our team and we were able to call ahead with our orders. This restaurant staff worked quickly and everything came out quickly. Both my daughters had the kids chicken fingers and fries and I shared the tenderloin with my husband. The mustard aioli was the star of the show! I love mustard and this was amazing. We also had house chips which was nice to have a different option instead of fries. Staff were nice, service was great. The food was also pretty good. Only thing to say is be careful in the parking lot. On the far back side it looks like you can go out, which we found out you can not. We hit the bottom of our car. They should definitely add a sign or concrete barrier. read more

The food was absolutely incredible! I am gluten free and I got their salmon BLT, while their fryers are cross contaminated which takes most of their offered sides off the menu (including their Brussels sprouts), it was immaculate! It has such a charming ambience I knew I'd like it the moment we saw the bar. We had immediate seating and our food came out really quickly. Everyone in our party got breakfast and raved about the food. The pancakes are massive and more than worth the calories. I got the harvest bowl and would happily devour a whole plate of the brisket. We had reservations (yay they have that!!) and we were seated immediately- taken care of right away by a young man (sorry I didn't get his name) - drinks, plates, etc. Then the food - good grief- there was a Lot of it - such a great variety too! - every single person in our party was delighted with the selection and taste! Goldfinch Tap + Eatery is a fabulous option amongst the many amazing Uptown Marion eateries. We were in town for a youth softball tournament and had a super small window to eat in. Like less than an hour, small. I emailed them to inquire on their private dining space and if we could use it as a team, pre-ordering over the phone and paying individual tabs. They were happy to accomodate and didn't even charge us for the space! We each individually called in, placing our families' food orders and organizing them all by player number. We all arrived around 1:40 (we told them to expect us around 1:45). Each order came out in a timely fashion, and were all correct! A waitress additionally went around getting different drink orders, which considering our 40+ person group, all came out quickly. At the end, as we paid the twelve different tabs, our waitress would go around and ask what order we had (again, differentiated by player number) -- easy peasy! Honestly it went off so much better than I anticipated. 10/10 would recommend this for youth teams coming to the area. The private dining space was great! The menu has something for everyone from sandwiches to soups/salads, burgers to mac n cheese-- as well as a some more 'fine dining' entrees. The kids menu was well priced ($7) and had a lot of options! I liked the adult beverage options (they look to have a happenin happy hour 3-6pm, weekdays). Parking could be a bit iffy. While street parking is free, it is kind of hard to find at certain times/days. The staff was insanely kind and knowledgable. Overall a fabulous experience! read more

We haven't even left yet and I couldn't wait to tell you how fantastic the food and service is here. I had such a hard time deciding because everything on the menu sounded amazing. We settled on the smoked brisket finch dip and pork tenderloin sandwich which turned out to be two great choices. The brisket is perfectly seasoned and meltingly tender. The pork has just the right amount of spice and was perfectly grilled. Our server couldn't have been more helpful or delightful. The food was cooked properly. The food just seemed bland and seemed to lack that wow factor. We ordered a fried tenderloin with fries, a club with fries, and a grilled cheese with Mac & cheese. The fries were plentiful. The Mac & cheese was not very creamy but watery with a powdered taste. I just expected a little more from the food. Overall, a nice spot to eat. It's good to finally have a high end place in Marion perfect for a date night. The menu is basic but they do it right and that's what matters. I have ordered almost everything on the menu at this point and have never been let down. I absolutely love the spinach artichoke dip, and the chips are great. I have also tried many of the cocktails and you can tell that the bartender knows what he/she is doing. It's nice to finally have a place that sells cocktails other than rum and cokes or gin and tonic here in Marion lol. This place is more pricey than other restaurants in the area but I feel that it is warranted given the laid back and cool environment that they have created.
