The AC in my car went out, which was miserable. Warren went over some options, including filling the refrigerant, and advised that the refill would be a temporary fix only because he detected a leak in the AC system. He was right, and ultimately replaced the part. At first he believed there to be two leaks, but he only found one. So, he fixed that and it is running cold now! Let me know to call him if anything. We arrived to a dead car, which had been left on a trickle charger while we were off island. Warren came out the next day, replaced the battery and the connection cable and voila, car was running again. I called Warren because I was having issues with my starter. I told him the type of different issues I was experiencing and he knew exactly what to fix. By that point my car would no longer start. He called me back promptly with a very fair priced quote and was able to help me the next day! Warren is the greatest mechanic of all time. I came to him with a blown head gasket on a 1980 Datsun wagon and he brought her back to life. While he was at it he swapped my carburetor, fixed all the belts, made my AC work, put new shocks in my hatchback etc.. He is trustworthy, knowledgable, and one of the greatest humans I've had the pleasure of meeting. At first thought, the idea of a Mobile Mechanic led me to believe that breaks, tune-ups, and oil changes would be the extent of services offered. Then, after receiving some rather high quotes from garages, we were encouraged by our local friends in Kailua to reach out to Warren on a complex project. In the end, he diagnosed a far different problem than the other automotive repair garage and got our sons Toyota RAV4 back to running and being dependable. He also managed to catch an AC issue, which has resulted into a much cooler AC temp. Since that time, we have made the Manic Mechanic the "go to" auto repair for our entire automotive needs. Our family has a range of vehicles that cover Honda to BMW, as well as a mix of trucks, Jeeps, and luxury cars. If that weren't enough, I recommended Warren to a business associate, who was having tremendous problems finding someone to figure out why his Commercial vehicle would no longer run and perform properly. It is my understanding that two other mechanics gave up as the electrical configuration was a real challenge. Not only was Warren able to get the vehicle running again, but he was able to correct the electrical that was the cause of said problem. As a Program Manager, I rely on my colleagues and team members to negotiate through their area of responsibilities and do what they say they can do, while being forth coming as to what is only possible. Warren is good people. And a good mechanic too! Super convenient to have him make house calls so you don't have to arrange a ride to/from a garage. I've used him for 4+ years to do standard stuff like brake jobs and lube, but also had him diagnose and repair some odd problems and he's never missed. Has the computer in his van to plug into the car's electronics just like the guys with the high overhead, but better price, and some good old-fashioned shade-tree mechanic horse sense.
