Down in this area and looking for a spot to grab some dinner this spot caught our eye. Now with the…read morelow star rating you may believe the food was a let down, but that's not the case. My wife and I did start out with fried pickles for an appetizer which came out piping hot but lacked any seasoning or much flavor. Entree wise my wife got the loaded chicken nachos and I got the spicy chicken sandwich. My wife very much enjoyed the nachos and chicken, all cooked very well. The chicken sandwich was solid but in the world of many chicken sandwiches I have had a few that are more stand out. Overall though minimal complaints about the food, and I suspect their pizzas are outstanding. Our real complaint would come down to the service which really was a lack of service. A host sat us right away and it took minimal time to place orders for drinks and food. Also not an absurd amount of time waiting for drinks or food. It was the fact from the time we placed our food order we did not see our server again til we finished eating and waiting around 10 minutes after for a to-go box and check. It's been a very rare occurrence for us but the service experience truly made us feel invisible. Not a single time during eating did we get asked how our food was, if we needed anything additional. Mind you while they were not our server multiple workers walked by us many times taking care of other tables while we sat waiting for the check and also once we did want to pay our check as well. This was also at the point it really started to clear out and was by no means busy. We had tasty food but the lack of service really soured our experience. I would say if you want to check them out for their food it should be pretty good and hopefully your service is a better experience than ours!

The food counter offers pizza, subs, wraps, grinders, burgers, fried foods, haddock, pizza, calzones, and gluten free pizza too. I stopped in here recently for a sub. I was informed that they were out of pizza cheese, so there was no pizza available on my visit. I ordered a Large Chicken Cutlet Sub with lettuce, tomato, onions, and mayo. My sub was made to order and ready in about 10 minutes. The sub was a good size which had a thick firm white sub roll, which deep fried breaded crispy chicken cutlets (slightly over-browned) with the lettuce, tomato, onions, and mayo as requested. The onions almost made me cry, lol. I would come back again and try to get a pizza next time. Licensed hunters in Maine can also obtain tags for bear, deer, or wild turkey at Kadens.

I try not to rag on servers because I know I could never do what most serves do, but this waitress was putting in bare minimum effort. Its all things I could get past, if the only reason we went was for their slice deal that was advertised on their website. A dollar and some change for two slices sounded like a steal. We sat down and waiting a bit for our server to come over. We placed drink orders and waited a bit (roughly 15 minutes). When our drinks arrived, we informed our waitress that we were looking to do the slice deal. No sooner did our words leave our mouths, she instantly stated "oh we just stopped doing the slice deal. Okay not a problem. We ended up ordering our pizza's and went on with the night. The issue really highlighted when most people that were coming in were looking for the same deal. The deal never stated that there was a limited supply or an end time. I was surprised that they weren't telling people or advertising that the deal was no longer going on. The deal was dine in only and then I had to wonder, how hard would it be to make a pizza and divvy up the slices? The food came out at a decent time but after waiting for drinks and waiting for our waitress to come back to take our order, we were roughly an hour in. Multiple tables had gotten up and left without ever seeing a waitress. It is disappointing because we love the pizza but we will not do sit down service again after this experience. I would stick to take out.
