Now I've pervious performed at and attended over 100 open mics, at different bars, venues, houses etc, and believe me when I say this was one of my all-time favorite. All the musicians were super talented, the host was a pro's pro, and the audience were incredibly supportive & engaging. The space just felt warm, friendly and had a calm yet electric buzz the entire evening. Also, the bartender, Penny, really seemed to set the tone for the entire bar. She is extremely welcoming, witty and just an all-around positive person. You can tell she really enjoys her job and makes sure that her patrons are having a good time. I was sticking to non-alcoholic ginger beer all night and she only charged me $2 each, how kind is that?! All in all, a true gem of a bar with an open mic that I will 1,000% return to.

This place is so interesting. I couldn't stop looking around at all the decor, everywhere I looked I saw something new tucked into one of the nooks & crannies of the place. It was raining when we went but the outside looked like a great place to be. There was one spot where you can shelter from the rain and they hung an upside down Christmas tree in it. The drink offerings seem to be a wide variety and good choices. I don't drink alcohol so I had my orange juice and seltzer which is one of my go to drinks if I'm not having a non alcoholic beer. There's no dedicated parking lot, but there is some decent parking along the side streets nearby that shouldn't give you too much issue. The area in front of the stage is somewhat big for your viewing pleasure and the side stage is small. It depends on what type of music you're there for. Last night it was a heavy metal show. One guy was moshing intensely...ended up punching my friend in the face and then kicked a girl in the stomach. There was enough space in front of the stage for this not to happen. We later found out this person was part of a gang. Drinks were okay. For the first round my boyfriend got a vodka soda and I ordered a whiskey ginger. I was given a whisky sour. Didn't realize it until we left the bar that I was given the wrong drink. Bathrooms were clean. Woman's room had necessities such as lotion, some hair ties and tampons. My boyfriend said men's room wasn't as nice. I would return here...but they need better crowd control.

I canceled the night before, dolled myself up the day of, and decided to take myself out instead. Best decision ever. The joint is dimly lit. But your eyes wind up adjusting. It's got a great vibe. Definitely excellent for a date night. The bartenders here are absolute rockstars. I started with a Painkiller. Even though it's no longer on the menu, they whipped it up for me anyway--and hey, it definitely relieved my pain, lol! Next, I tried a Corpse Reviver just because it had absinthe in it. It was different, but I really enjoyed it. Naturally, I had to finish with my signature drink, a Cosmopolitan, because I am the Black Carrie Bradshaw of Long Island. And it did not disappoint. The eats: I got the charcuterie board--fancy and bougie, just like me--and wrapped up the night with the brownie à la mode for dessert. Drowning my troubles in sweets is a must when the Long Island dating pool is an absolute wasteland, lmao. Did I want to spend my night around teenagers, kids, and skee-ball? HELL NO!
